Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 02-28-2018 As they traversed the path that led into the world of Camelot, Unicron looked at the surroundings through the eyes, or as he would call them optics of the host that he was inside of, Rafael. The place had lush greenery, the type of which was missing on most areas of his brother's form of Cybertron, and something that other versions of him in the past had not had. Really though, he was lost in thought. For he knew they needed powerful allies that he could call upon to aid them in this strange new place. Silas, while he had been objectionable to Rafael did have potential. The human had understood Cybertronian Biology, even if his making a replica of a Prime was something Unicron personally disliked. Of course as Unicron hated anything to do with his brother, that was to be expected. Still, they needed a solution to many of the problems that they possessed. One of the problems was that they had nowhere that they could call their home. The Minicons would also be useful if he still possessed a Cybertronian Body. As he did not they could not merge with him, and provide him the strength he needed. It was less than ideal and that was putting his current situation mildly to say the least. What he needed now was a plan that was both intelligent, but also sound. In addition it had to avoid drawing any attention to the fact they were in the Omniverse. Looking skyward, Unicron was awestruck when he noticed the floating islands. This place must have some sort of Anti Gravity Generator or some such device for them here. If he could get his hands on such a device, perhaps he could regain one of the abilities he had in the past. In any case as he did need a home, Unicron continued to journey on, making his way past the ruins of many castles, and such places. Eventually he found a castle that looked like it had belonged to a sort of evil overlord once upon a time. Here was the perfect place for him to begin setting up his base of operations. While he may not be known as the Chaos Bringer fully, he was going to do his best to make sure he was known when he was capable and ready to be known as such. [What is it, Rafael?] [Why do you hate Optimus Prime?] The question asked by Rafael to him caught Unicron off guard for a moment, and made him honestly have to think. How could he word this in a way that would not offend his host? RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-01-2018 Rafael had asked why he hated Optimus Prime, and so Unicron was forced to think about it. As he looked at the desolated ruins of the castle that had once been home to an evil overlord, Unicron had to consider how to word his statement. Well, Rafael, first and foremost how would you like it if someone blasted you in your heart with what amounted to a death ray of sorts? This is one of the reasons I dislike him. Another is that the Prime, unlike you is a child of my brother, and so has no free will, being a robot programmed with the illusion of such. In addition, there are many other reasons that I dislike the children of my brother. Of course one of these reasons is easy enough for you to comprehend. You have actually had to deal with it as well, the war the Cybertronians fight on your world, remember? It's my body, and thus I hate the war that they do on it. I see, Unicron. So your hatred in this case is justified. Please don't hurt Optimus, if he arrives. He's my friend, as is Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead, and Ratchet, and the rest of the Autobots. Unicron sighed at that. Rafael didn't want him to hurt them, but he might have no choice in the matter. Unicron then asked. Mind if I take control now? I am going to be building us a new place to call home here, using the ruins of this place for us. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-01-2018 Fine. As long as you don't harm any of the locals unless it is called for, I will allow you to be in charge. Unicron mentally nodded at Rafael. Those were terms that he could accept, terms that would not restrict his efforts all that much, honestly. Unicron started examining the ruins. As he walked around the ruins of the castle, he noticed the many safety hazards it had. Some parts of the building were collapsed. Others looked like they were just ready to cave in at any time. In truth this was not as a good place as he had originally planned. Still, until they had the power to claim somewhere for themselves, Unicron knew that it was going to have to be home. Sadly he had no other choice in the matter. They did after all need a place to call home, and this was as good as a shelter as any. While this needs some work, it could be home. What do you think child? Rafael took over for a moment, gazing at the place. It was obvious to him that a battle had gone on here. For the place looked like someone had battled, and clashed here repeatedly. Due to this, Rafael knew the individuals might be around, but perhaps they were not. I suppose, it could be home. Can you figure out how to use Omnilium to fix the place up? RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-02-2018 Not at present, boy. But I am able to do this, much for us at least. Unicron concentrated the Omnillium they had, and began to form something for himself, and Rafael to use. The item he had made was a tablet and at first the tablet appeared to be nothing special. The Tablet was capable of doing something to disrupt the abilities of others, Unicron knew that much, but what it did, he didn't know. Dissipating it, he then looked at the hands of Rafael. They were the hands of someone who had not had much work before in their life. Ideally, he would have any host but this one. Still, since they were stuck together he had to make do with Rafael and that meant certain sacrifices. The chances of them suffering a severe wound was higher than what Unicron would like. There were any number of things that could go wrong. First and foremost, Unicron didn't know about the dangers of this place, and neither did Rafael. If there were dangers, they would be going in blind. A shard of crystal began to be created by Unicron. This crystal resembled the Dark Energon possessed by him as his life blood and essence. However, this was a gold crystal, with purple circuitry. The crystal was one that Unicron had created to restore all of his health, and strength. Really, he hoped they wouldn't need it. On the off chance it was needed, they were going to have something. The crystal I have created for us is for emergency situations, boy. You also have capabilities of mine. You can use Dark Energon, but not as powerfully as I could. Still, in time I see no reason we could not regain our full power. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-02-2018 The Chaos Bringer knew that none of the progeny of his brother was here in the Omniverse, or so he hoped. They were nothing but trouble because of the order they tried to impose on everything. Optimus Prime was one key example of this. The Matrix of Leadership imposed an order believed by Unicron to be the most distasteful thing he had ever experienced. The Matrix of Leadership was a relic his brother had created that could forcibly subdue him. Yet, he didn't feel as afraid of it, somehow. Had this Omni somehow modified him so he was not as vulnerable to the Matrix of Leadership? Or had losing the bulk of his power actually made Unicron unable to be affected by the Matrix of Leadership. His thoughts went back to the base that he was currently in. The place needed a lot of overhaul before it could become a proper home for himself, and Rafael. The place needed major repairs primarily because of how unstable the place looked. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-02-2018 However, while the place was unstable they were at present woefully under equipped to deal with any and all manner of threat that came their way. To that end, the Chaos Bringer knew that they needed a proper defense for themselves, something that they could use. Finding a room that was still for the most part in tact, Unicron realized that the place was the forge of a blacksmith. Taking the tools of the blacksmith that were strangely enough still functional in hand, and the materials in the room, Unicron went to work. Clang. Clang. Clang. The hammer continued to strike the heated metal, shaping it into the item that Unicron wanted for himself. While the hammer was not the Forge of Solus Prime it was a hammer that Unicron was concentrating on using. Once he was done, Unicron looked at the blade that he held in his hand. It reminded him of a blade that had been formed by Minicons in the past, but now it no longer needed it. It should have the same name decided Unicron, and so he named it the same. This sword was the Vorpal Saber. Why are you making weapons for us, Unicron? Unicron thought about how best to reply to Rafael. This Omni said we are not alone in the Omniverse. Therefore it stands to reason that there are others with the powers of a Prime at their disposal, and perhaps even one with the Matrix of Leadership. It is better to err on the side of caution, than to actually deal with a problem as it should arise. I would rather us be prepared than not. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-03-2018 As Omni hadn't lied - the only power that mattered in the Omniverse was Omnilium. Unicron knew that he and Rafael didn't have enough of the sickeningly cheery colored substance. There was only so much one could do with the amount he had now. Sadly, the amount was not even enough to create a tent for them to sleep. As they slept under an awning of the castle, rain poured down. The sound of thunder cracking awoke Rafael many times. Unfortunately, Unicron was the one who had to cam him down, more often than not. Unicron really wished that he had any of the soldiers he had in the past. Scourge could be really useful right now. His ability of flight, and his alt mode were going to definitely come in handy. Aerial transportation was something that the Chaos Bringer currently lacked. Sure it felt like he could fly in this strange place, but he wasn't about to test it out. Unicron attempted to make a plane out of Omnilium, but ended up creating a toy plane. Said object ceased to exist moments later due to being cut to pieces by a very irate Chaos Bringer. Okay, when he got Omni, death was officially too good for the arrogant pale white creature that had dared to abduct them both. Yes, it was officially too good for him. Perhaps what Unicron ought to do was some sort of painful surgery that was unwanted. An impromptu neutering perhaps might teach Omni a thing or two about dragging people places they did not want to slagging be, such as his toy box as that was what Unicron thought the Omniverse was. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-03-2018 Unicron was most certainly not pleased about the current situation. Of course, few people would be. For starters they were in a strange place he barely knew anything about that had been dubbed the Omniverse. To Unicron, it was not the Omniverse, though. No, the place was more like a toy box that everyone here was currently trapped inside of at present. Anyone who was smart enough to realize that would also want a way out. Of course, Unicron had yet to figure out a way out of the Omniverse. Attempting to summon a Space Bridge back to his world had not worked, in any definition of the word. The same was also true for a black hole modified to transport him. It simply had not done the job. Teleportation was also likewise out of the question. When he tried to grow the purple crystals that he normally used, Unicron couldn't either. Just how much of his strength had been ripped from him when he had been brought to this place? Alas, the answer to that question was one Unicron did not know. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-03-2018 Even now with the amount of effort he had put into trying to figure things out, it wasn't enough. So far Unicron had figured out that transportation out of the Omniverse was all but impossible. Of course said realization could have come after the numerous ways he had tried to blast his way out of the Omniverse. Summoning a giant rocket hadn't worked, and had broken down the moment he had tried it. The Ground Bridge was less successful and hadn't even held together two seconds. Summoning a derelict Decepticon war ship hadn't worked either - Unicron wasn't sure why that hadn't worked, but planned on figuring it out. Summoning any of the Cybertronians to be his ride out of the place had not succeeded either. All in all, the Chaos Bringer now had something he had never experienced. Something that was unique to the humans. Specifically he felt like someone was operating a jack hammer in his skull. Oh yes, the first person who crossed him or Rafael today was going to get the beat down of the century from him for this. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-03-2018 Truly both of them had a long way to go. Rafael lacked the confidence to speak out, and be the best he could be. Part of Chaos was change, and Unicron planned on changing him for the better. If the kid grew strong enough, perhaps he would grow more powerful as well. Summoning the Vorpal Saber to his hand, Unicron looked at the beautiful colors of the before sunrise. While it was still technically dark out, it was better than he had hoped it would be. To the noise of the chirping of the crickets, Unicron began to perform various sword techniques using the body of Rafael. However, every one of the techniques fell flat. Still he forced himself to keep going. With each slash, he realized he was starting to get more skilled. It was simply a matter of will power - pushing his body to continue going no matter how much it wanted to stop. With time the place could be fixed, all he needed to do was work at it harder than he had been. The same also applied to strengthening Rafael. Perhaps he might even be able to summon some help. Mech would be good allies, and allies that Rafael wouldn't care about being summoned. Maybe even some Decepticons could be of use to them in this place. They needed allies, he knew that much. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-04-2018 As he continued to internally monologue, Unicron also thought of Rafael. For humans, he had been exceptional when it came to understanding and actually comprehending Cybertronian Technology. All in all, the kid had a lot of untapped potential. Typically, Unicron preferred not to meddle with the species he was involved with, because they in his universe had grown on his dormant form. However, in this case there were unique circumstances that left him no choice in the matter. To be blunt, it was the fact that he was trapped inside the head of Rafael. The being trapped part was more of an irritation than most people would believe, but it also slowed Unicron's plans down. Until he brought the kid around to his way of thinking, Unicron could not carry out many of his plans for the Omniverse. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-04-2018 Bringing around Rafael to his way of thinking was not going to be by any of the definition of the word, easy. Of course few things in life actually were easy that were worth doing. This had probably been said by some sort of human philospher, but Unicron didn't care to remember the name of the person. After all, it would be like remembering the names of every flea on your body which is what Unicron considered the others in the Omniverse. Fleas that had been mutated to possess power beyond what he was currently capable of. Swinging the Vorpal Saber Unicron cursed and wished he had his eye lasers. Sure he had used that only in the mind of Megatron, but given the diminutive size of Rafael who had yet to achieve puberty fully, the eye lasers were a weapon he had to re-add to his arsenal. Noticing Rafael wake up, Unicron let control fade from his grasp, putting the boy back in charge. What were you doing, Unicron? My body feels sore. Training. You can't expect.... The Autobots are not here to save you, Rafael. I'm all you've got, and I know we need to improve. Just leave the fighting to me. Alright, I'll leave the fights to you, Unicron. Can you teach me? If you agree to follow my lessons, yes. Consider it a deal. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-04-2018 Out of Rafael projected Unicron who looked the boy over, who was now clad in a pure black Gi that had the symbol of Unicron on the back of it, and a jacket that also had a matching symbol as well. The boy looked good, but looks were not going to win them their survival inside of the Omniverse, Unicron knew that much. "Summon the Vorpal Saber, and let us begin, let's see what you have." Rafael nodded, and held out his hand, the sword materializing in his possession. When Unicron asked him to show what he had, Rafael began a series of clumsy moves based off of animes that he could not exactly remember the full details of. "Your skills need work," sighed Unicron. "A lot of work, but nothing we can't overcome if you take my lessons." RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-05-2018 A few days had passed, and the lessons Unicron had been giving Rafael had began to pay dividends. Already Rafael was becoming skilled enough with the Vorpal Saber that Unicron wouldn't have to assume control right away in a fight to ensure that they survived. Not that he would tell Rafael he was going to not do so, of course. Rafael had asked him to assume control in a fight, and until he was sure the child had the skills needed to protect them both from any of the Primes who wished them ill, it was for the best. Of course there was another reason. Unicron liked being able to do more than actually project himself outward. Having a full voice of his own was something that he actually enjoyed. Unicron sighed as he observed Rafael spin and twist, swinging the Vorpal Saber and cutting down some of the training dummies they had made. Well that Unicron had made, to be exact because Rafael still didn't have the hang of molding Omnilium to fit his desires, yet. His skills were going to greatly improve if they were going to have any chance of carrying out the plans Unicron had. Step one of those plans was arguably the easiest plan because it simply involved creating a place that they could call home. Here though did not seem like a good place, but it was the best he could come up with on short notice - and had multiple advantages of being somewhat deeper in this place. In addition it was isolated which did present problems but also made attacking the place harder by degrees in the eyes of Unicron. Even better would be if he somehow managed to get this castle floating into the air when he managed to fix the place up for them. Ultimately though, an under water base would have been better but he did not have the patience to hunt for somewhere like that right now. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-05-2018 Shelter alone was not enough however, even if he were to have his ideal place for them to call a base. Given they had been stripped of the bulk of his cosmic power which could have easily put Omni in his place, Unicron knew Rafael would have a long road ahead of him. Regaining the skills possessed by him in the past was not going to be an easy task - to put it mildly. Chances are some of the individuals here, called the insulting name of "Primes" were of the same mentality, and heroism of Optimus Prime. His one solace was that the Matrix of Leadership the one item that could seal him away was nowhere to be found at present, which was a good thing in the opinion of Unicron. His power here was barely even that of a human, and had in fact been reduced in his own opinion to that of a new born babe. Still, with time he could regain the power he had stolen from him by the white entity that dubbed itself Omni. Unicron started practicing with his sword, the Vorpal Saber. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-06-2018 As the breeze blew through his hair, Rafael looked at the ruins of the castle. The place was somewhere that Raf would never normally consider staying for even a short amount of time, under nominal circumstances. However, the circumstances he was in were not nominal to say the least. First and foremost, other than Unicron Rafael didn't know anyone inside of the place they were in. If his memory was correct, the place was called "The Omniverse" and the physics of the place were different from the ones that he were used to. Rafael sighed as he looked at the desolated ruins that were the place they were in. This place had once been a beautiful castle, even if it was a tad darker than he would have built and used for himself. Still, Rafael knew that Unicron liked this place because it was abandoned - and had no one around it that would cause problems for either of them. More importantly, it did not have Vince which meant Rafael was not going to learn what the inside of a toilet felt face first, or receive any other forms of harassment by that bully. Rafael then looked at the Tablet that Unicron had given him. The tablet seemed nothing special, at least at first. Examining it more closely he held it out in front of him. A beam of energy shot out of the Tablet which appeared at first to do nothing. What did the beam of energy do? Really, what Rafael was doing was taking inventory of their shared capabilities. Rafael then dissipated the tablet. Purple electricity danced down his right hand, before forming into a sphere of energy which he fired. The sphere traveled quickly and hit the target that he had made, impacting with it, and pulsing with electricity. Sure it didn't do anything to the scarecrow that had been made to serve as the target for what they were up to, but Rafael imagined on a flesh and blood target it would at least do some damage. It was likely capable of possibly paralyzing someone he came across. Unicron's abilities were returning, which was both good and at the same time horrible. The good part of it was that they would become strong enough to protect themselves against any of the Primes who wished them ill in the Omniverse. The bad news was that Unicron would have his abilities back, which meant if Optimus, or the others showed up they could be put at risk unfortunately. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-06-2018 So far he had learned that he somehow had a Tablet that could shoot blasts of a purple energy out of it, which was impressive. In addition he seemed to be able to shoot an orb out of Dark Energon out of the palm of his hand after a few seconds of concentration. This would alarm him were he not needing such power to keep himself alive. However, even with that and the Vorpal Saber he probably didn't have enough equipment for himself. Opening his backpack, Rafael began to go through the supplies that he had on his person. Inside the backpack he noticed there was a gun belt with two holsters. The Gun belt was gray, with a Green M logo on it, the logo of Mech. Mech had attempted to dissect Bumblebee, something Rafael didn't like, but they did make good technology. In the holsters of the Gun Belt were a couple of Energy Pistols. Grabbing them, Rafael looked them over. How could he have forgotten that he had this on his person? RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-06-2018 The Golden Crystal that had been given to him by Unicron was some sort of restorative agent, Rafael knew that much. It seemed like a very potent one that should be saved for emergency situations, and even then, only for when he truly needed it. It didn't look like it had been easy for the Chaos Bringer to create by any definition of the word. To be fair, Rafael didn't know why Unicron was helping him at present. You truly don't know boy? I am helping you, because it is mutually beneficial to do so. As you grow stronger, so do I. If we are to survive in the Omniverse, we must learn to work together, and trust each other. Humanity is my progeny, and I will not have some pasty faced TROLL abduct us and drag us from our world - without harsh reprisals. Had I my full strength, Omni would regret his foolish decision, for all of five seconds, before I snuffed out his life because of how irritating he is. Rafael thought over what Unicron had stated. Unneeded violence aside, what Unicron intended for Omni was a plan many Primes probably had at one time or other because of being kidnapped. Perhaps... perhaps he should...no. Organizing the ones who hated Omni was a bad idea. But is it, child? If we organize them, we could actually stand a chance of opposing Omni. I mean, if enough of us got our act together, we could go up against him, and show him our power. Of course, you would need my full power, which I have very little of, as you have personally seen. Was the idea actually so bad? Rafael was not sure, anymore. On the one hand he didn't want to do violence to anyone. Yet on the other they had been kidnapped and no one was able to come to their rescue. Of course for the past several days, Rafael had been trying numerous things in an attempt to get them some help. First he had tried texting Bumblebee, or Bulkhead, but his phone had no service. This had ruled out getting help that way. After that, smoke signals had been attempted but that had not done any good either, due to the roof blocking most of the smoke from leaving. While the castle was damaged, it was still somewhat sturdy. RE: Seeking Shelter - Jack Darby - 03-07-2018 Good. Your skills are improving. While if I were not inside you, I would not call you worthy of being one of my heralds - your skills are growing to acceptable levels, young man. You have a lot of training to do before we would be ready. Unicron smiled wickedly inside of Rafael's head. The boy was learning quickly - faster than he had anticipated. Still, the skills he had were not at any level close to where they needed to be. Even against one of the lesser of the spawn of his brother, Rafael wouldn't last 4 minutes. This was no fault of the boy's, but he wasn't built to be a fighter. The boy could improve, though it was going to be a long and arduous process that would require both of them put forth the maximum amount of effort. However, the weapons they had at present were sub standard. What they needed was a more powerful piece of equipment that could serve as the center piece of their arsenal. A sword, or a blaster that possessed more power than what they had at their current disposal was what they needed. |
