Dirigibles and blimps. - Stephan Donnel - 10-13-2015

As noted in "About the World" section it is impossible to create a flying car or something of that matter without using it as an Assist anywhere except Coruscant and Camelot. My question is - is it possible to summon, or outright build from scratch from summoned or scavenged parts, a blimp or dirigible in Verses other than those two noted?

In addition - is it possible for either of those to be used as representation of "Flight" power?

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Sasuke Uchiha - 10-14-2015

So, basically, in verses like Coruscant and Camelot, already exist the use of vehicles that can fly and you would not need the flight power in order to have a flying ship in these verses. Now, when it comes to the other verses, like say the Dunes, they do not have flying vehicle summon ability and the only way to fly in a verse like this is the flight power plus having an assist.

If you have flight and an assist made for your blimp, you may have your blimp anywhere in the Omniverse. Just note that it won't fit though a gate when leaving a verse to the next. I hope this clears it up for you.

Edited to reflect Omni's ruling.

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Omni - 10-14-2015

Basically no, not without the use of assists. They simply wouldn't work (put it down to Orc-physics or something, they don't believe it works unless it's in Camelot or Coruscant Tongue)

I feel like having it as the flight power would be slightly too big of a stretch considering the size of a blimp. Maybe a mini-blimp in the form of a backpack or something, but otherwise it's a bit too far.

^I would say it would still be off-limits outside of the C-verses unless it's an assist, and would still be subject to fatigue. So you can't just easily cross the desert/ocean/steppes/etc

Unrelated to your question, but this is a useful reference topic for creating vehicles and such.

Somewhat on topic but what about flying/floating bases outside those two verses?

As long as it's 'anchored' and accessible (basically as long as it doesn't give an advantage if someone were to assault the base). Ganondorf's base in the Endless Dunes is a good example of this.

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Ururu Kyuuei - 10-16-2015

Anchored... crap well there goes having my stratosphere high base.

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Bandit With No Name - 10-18-2015

Yeah, as a general rule Bases should be reasonably accessible without any special move or power requirements.

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Ururu Kyuuei - 10-18-2015

Can a base be a vehicle as well?

I'm no angel but I'd say that having a vehicular base would be a pretty distinct advantage.

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Schwi Dola - 10-18-2015

But note what Omni said specifically, outside the C-verses.

In Camelot and Coruscant any Prime could summon a vehicle to fly up to the base so a floating base might be permissible.

A mobile base.. within the verse?

You almost definitely couldn't have a base travel to other verses.

Re: Dirigibles and blimps. - Bandit With No Name - 10-18-2015

Nope, no vehicular bases, and they should approachable by ground (or the standard travel for the verse, like a boat for Vasty Deeps). A moving base is probably out of the question just due the possibility of abuse.
