Colosseum - Round 1, Group A - Luffy vs Alain - Storyteller - 10-12-2015 Luffy, standing before an unfurled Kingdom flag, glared across a rolling battlefield at Alain, who himself stood before a small armory and the rebel colors of the Deserters. Up above them, a packed crowd cheered, waiting for the signal that would commence the 'festivities.' Someone gestured for silence, and just like that, there wasn't a sound in the building as Victor von Magnus walked onto the small platform near the center of the massive structure. With a smile, he picked up the padded hammer and smashed it into the gong, signalling the fights to commence. Quote:Judge – Sinestro [M] Colosseum - Round 1, Group A - Luffy vs Alain - Part I - Monkey D. Luffy - 10-14-2015 DONNNNG! A resounding pulse buffeted the crowd with blisters of anticipation as the symbolic gong rang true, drawing them to the edge of their seats and evoking all combatants to sharpen belligerent grandiose into keen focus. As bulwarks of purified, radiant mana swelled erect in myriad formation across the soot-laden field, Straw Hat tilted his noggin' as if to pantomime a curious pup. Callously dallying opposite the pirate, Alain maintained a dulled glower, poised with utter lack of enthusiasm. He examined a seemingly harmless dimwit from his prosaic sandals up to his trademark headwear. "Hm, so, you're stretchy . . . " The ruby-cloaked mercenary slid betwixt his shaded lips with a sigh of disinterest; one might even go far as to say such was sprinkled with disappointment. "Ah? Oi oi, I never met ya' before guy, at least not that I can remember, how'd ya guess??" Luffy shot back, perplexed by his predetermined adversary's fortuitous knowledge. Casually extending a finger to his heterochromatic peepers, Alain briefly explained, "These eyes of mine offer more than just quirky conversation starters. They see all. So tell me rubber-band man, can you stretch 'everything?' Heh," The merc mocked with a taunting smirk. "Yup! Every part of my body! Cool huh?? Wanna' see?!" The ignoramus haughtily confirmed, donning a peculiar stance that forced Alain's brow to arch ever slightly. "Gomu Gomu no . . . " Straw Hat incanted, bowing his rump to the rear and prompting his denim shorts to fall freely at his ankles, inciting a fuddled reaction from the gawking crowd. "The hell are you do–?" "MUSHROOM STAMP!!" Pow! Snapping his elastic wang forth like a ballistic missile, Alain reeled back as his cheek met with the girth of Luffy's lancing meat stick. A silence-stricken crowd burst into roaring laughter at the most unorthodox assault this arena had ever seen. "Ugh, you lanky sonuvva-. I've never been so insulted-, ergh. You . . are dead!" The humiliated mercenary murmured with a gnarled grimace as the very air twisted and warped around his extended palm, conjuring a blade that slithered into existence. His poor, throbbing jowl pulsed, yet no semblance of inflammation or pain apparent in his voice. The pirate found himself amidst trying times by the dozens in his adventures, but rarely had he felt such suffocating malice exude from the opposition. Evidently, a good old-fashioned pecker slap incites a grievous response, yet Straw Hat positively could not stop laughing. Tugging his trousers back up to his waist, the eccentric captain looked up to find empty space from whence his opponent once stood. Deep within his sub-conscience, an image of his spinal cord being severed by a sable blade flickered. Shink. His premonition drew life and came to fruition. Fortunately, the pirate's foresight allotted him the milliseconds necessary to elude the crippling blow as Alain phased into sight. Pursuing his offender without relent, his blade sliced clean through the dusty air while his blood-red garments flapped about. Though Luffy managed to elude the bite of his enemy's edge, glancing nicks pecked at his extremities while he swayed this way and that. Abruptly, he smacked against the magical barrier encompassing the tournament grounds, effectively halting his shirking footwork. Exposing a grin, Alain thrusted his Sresveltr forward to end it all. Reacting in haste, the pirate clapped both hands together against the blade, staying it within his grasp. Startled by the wiry boy's impressive strength, the merc hesitated a moment too much, allowing his uppity foe ample time to dig a knee into his gut, nullifying the cloaked contender's blitz as he skid along the sandy terrain. "Not as gangly as you look, stretchy prick," Alain commended backhandedly, standing upright and prepping for round two. Meanwhile, Straw Hat nudged himself from the rampart shield and dug into his pocket, relinquishing a savory chicken leg and gnawing at it ravenously. Chomp-nom-nomp. Gulp. "Oooookay! You ready Carny? Want some meat?" Straw Hat offered, revealing rations tucked in his trousers as he dug up his nose with a prodding finger. Plucking a juicy one, the captain balled it between his digits and flicked it forth. ". . ." "You utterly disgust me, nitwit! Take that garden snake out again so I can sheer it off, wadda' ya' say? And don't call me Carny!" Displaying his corrupt sword upright, Alain willed the armament to morph and reshape once more as Luffy wound his arm 'round and 'round to loosen up. "That left a neat imprint on your cheek there, Kishishishi! Alright, here I come! . . ." Quote:I have very explicitly received permission from Alain the Carnedge to post this piece. No defamation of character or harm was my intention. Pure comic relief purposes only. Quote:Word Count: 749 Arrrrrmageddon (Luffy vs Alain, Colosseum) - Alain the Carnedge - 10-15-2015 Alain lunged with his two crimson daggers, running low across the hard dirt as his opponent's arm stretched. "Gom-" Luffy began, only to be interrupted by the mercenary gaining a sudden burst of speed and slashing both daggers across his ribs. The pirate gasped in pain and his foe followed up with a swift kick to the previous slash wounds, causing the rubber man to stagger backwards when the wind was knocked out of him. Alain pressed the advantage while he had it, slashing wildly at the pirate while they were overwhelmed by the pain. Luffy could do little more than try to evade in face of the onslaught, but his opponent was quicker and more skilled than he, and the burning pain did nothing to help matters. But there was no way out other than to strike back, and the pirate allowed one of the blades to pierce his flesh so that in the moment it took to swing the other, he could land a punch to the gut that sent his foe flying once more. The crowd cheered as the mercenary sailed through the air and flipped to his feet. Nobody liked to see a one-sided battle, and while the red-cloaked mercenary had landed more hits and drawn more blood, each successful hit from his foe definitely looked like it hurt. Alain scowled, knowing full well that if he lost here, he wouldn't be able to live it down. Luffy started taunting again, but the mercenary just stopped listening altogether. He wasn't going to dignify this bullshit with a response anymore. Though it did seem that his opponent has procured a shield, more specifically a buckler, from the provided weapons. The mercenary advanced on foot, knowing his ability to fly was his most likely shot at winning and it was best to keep it hidden until the right time. He took a few deep breaths as he moved in on his foe and completely ignored their taunts. The pirate punched from afar once again, and Alain simply ran to the side, leaping over the trench and wondering what his foe's strategy was. Unfortunately, he had failed to notice the pirate's other arm holding the shield, which hit him directly in the face. There was a sickening crack as the buckler connected with his skull, and he fell into the trench headfirst, almost comically. The crowd's cheering became deafening while Alain tried not to think about his new injury, instead focusing on activating his stealth again and levitating out of the trench. He landed behind a nearby stone barricade, peering behind it. Alain made some kind of angry, sickened growling noise as his opponent, laughing, leapt over the trench in the middle of their arena, looking utterly perplexed as to where the red-cloaked mercenary had gone. As much as it pained him to admit it, he was outclassed, at least in terms of raw power. The pirate could deal with the pain, and while he couldn't feel it, he was fairly certain each hit he took was more like getting hit with a sledgehammer. So his only option was to play it smart, use all the advantages he had while he still had them. "Come out, come out, wherever you are~!" Luffy yelled in a singsong voice, his stretchy fist shattering the barricade into tiny stone pieces that flew through the air. But Alain had already left, an arrow suddenly flying towards the pirate's head from seemingly nowhere. Though Luffy's grin didn't falter, as all it took to deal with the problem was simply hitting the arrow away with his buckler. More came after, but all he needed to do was evade or block all of the shots until his opponent simply ran out of arrows. After five more easily blocked projectiles, the ranged assault suddenly stopped. The ground below the pirate turned completely black, and dark flames rose as another arrow, engulfed by the flames, flew from the right. Luffy did what he had before and simply blocked it with his shield before trying to escape the darkness, only to have his foe materialize once more with a knee to his jaw. The pirate's hat flew from his head when he stumbled, the mercenary stomping on it and watching it burn in the stygian flames. He didn't anticipate his foe's sudden look of utter shock and rage, though. "Looks like this is about to get good." Alain muttered, his crimson daggers disappearing to be replaced by his Odachi. Quote:Wordcounter.net says the post is 750 words, 4206 characters. Re: Colosseum - Round 1, Group A - Luffy vs Alain - Monkey D. Luffy - 10-17-2015 Crinch, Crump, Fssshhh. "That was for your salacious little stunt earlier," the crimson-mantled merc japed triumphantly, scraping the ashy remains of his target's kindled cap and grinding it further into the sediment. Silence; suffocating silence befell the howling amphitheater. Traditionally livened by stains of spattered blood and cracks of shattered bone, the lusting masses receded to the stem of their seats. "That . . . that hat was a precious gift from my childhood idol," the vapid pirate gritted, surveying with harrowing optics the charred cinders splayed beneath his assailant's tarnished boot. "I promised him that I would return it once I became the King of Pirates . . ." This act of taboo broiled the captain to his core, breathing sparks of vehement embers into his furnace of rage. Poetic really, as the burning in his eyes emulated the fate of his prized possession, scorched to a crisp. "Gold, jewels, antiques, delicacies, none of that means a thing to me! That heirloom . . was my ONE AND ONLY TREASURE!" Luffy snarked with grainy tone, affixing a frigid leer as both pupils contracted. His chronic, jovial quintessence curdled into a malefic veneer as he clamped ten digits into twin fists. "BASTARD!!" The pirate thundered, jetting forth with momentarily explosive acceleration akin to a shuttle launch, unearthing sizable debris from his foothold and carving a fleeting fracture in Alain's keen focus. "I WILL . . ." The straw-cap-murderer feebly attempted to implore an azure barrier as last ditch defensive measures, albeit in vain. Luffy's stiffened mitt speared clean through the premature, translucent layers of brittle, incomplete magic as if it were made of sugar glass. ". . . CLOBBER YOU!!" Kathwam!! "GUH!" Alain cried out with a guttural wince as his body jostled and bounced along the branny pit, compliments of a concussive hard right. The mercenary's grandchildren would feel that wallop for certain. Exploiting the cloaked bladeslinger's brief impairment, Mugiwara sprung his arm to the aft, extending it several meters and laying chase. "Gomu Gomu no . . ." Within proximal distance from his prey, the flexible pugilist withdrew his elastic limb, snapping it like a rubber band and driving a whizzing fist into the merc's exposed sternum. " . . . Bullet!" Hawking up blood, saliva and a few molar fragments from the initial strike, Alain hobbled to his feet. Impressed by the fighter-for-hire's swift recovery, Luffy kept close watch on the opposition, wary of any further tricks of his trade. "Huff, huff . . . not bad. Any more straight shots like that it might be lights out. Impressive raw power, but rudimentary style," the contestant confessed as he slowly melded into umbral glops and crept out of sight once more. "I prefer an approach with a touch more finesse." "Ah? Where . . . ?" Luffy fidgeted, pivoting his rubber dome to pinpoint his concealed foe. Treading with no semblance of caution, the captain swung wildly at the open air hoping to hit pay dirt. "That's really your strategy?" A wispy voice derided from indiscernible position, snatching Straw Hat's attention and soliciting another misplaced swat. A gentle breeze whisked beyond the pirate, gouging a slit along his outstretched extremity as he cringed from the sting. "Psst, over heeeere," Alain uttered discreetly once more, following up with a stealthy gash as Luffy overshot his mark a third time. "Wrong again." Shunk! "Yow, close but no dice." Shikk! "Tsk. Are you even trying?" This game of cat and invisible mouse continued for minutes, Mugiwara's garments smeared with warm crimson after each persisting hack and slash. He just had to draw this cutthroat's number. Rotten luck to be drafted against a practitioner of bladed munitions, one of Straw Hat's weaknesses among a scanty list. Growing frustrated, the fed up captain pondered a moment; a scarce sight to behold, succeeded by a dauntless grin. Stomping the turf beneath him to forge a grapnel, Luffy dug his foot several feet into the trench and proceeded to gyrate his torso like a spindle whilst coiling his free leg around his waist. Within seconds, he'd looped well over a dozen times. "Gomu Gomu no . . ." Straw Hat chanted before unraveling like a spinning top and protracting his leg outward as a loosed whip, snagging a dagger from the armory rack between his toes. Reaching maximum torque and velocity, the human cyclone kicked up debris within the attack radius. For Alain the Carnedge, there was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Chinkinkinkink! ". . . GARBAGE BLENDER!!" Quote:Word Count: 730 Ship Outta Luck (Luffy vs Alain, Colosseum) - Alain the Carnedge - 10-19-2015 Oh, this one's gonna suck. He had to admit that he was enjoying himself. Taunting his opponent was originally supposed to be a type of experiment, just to find out if rage would interfere with his foe's little future sight trick. The mercenary was pleased to see that he was apparently right, but unfortunately, his curiosity made him forget this was an actual fight, and he watched his opportunity to just end the battle right then and there go up in flames. Alain pushed those thoughts aside for the moment and, still under his invisibility, flew upwards before gaining a few bursts of speed, landing behind the barricade furthest away from his furious foe. The mercenary couldn't feel pain, but he could definitely feel fatigue, and keeping this up was starting to affect him. He took a few deep breaths, and sat down against the hard stone. With luck the now hatless pirate wouldn't be able to keep the storm up for long. He took a peek after five or so seconds, only to see that his opponent's blender type maneuver was tearing apart the arena. Normally, the pirate's dagger wouldn't be able to cut through the barricades, but the immense strength of the wielder made the tiny little blade cut through the stone with ease. It didn't take a genius to figure out that if this hit him directly, he'd be dead, no questions asked. The mercenary desummoned Sresveltr and crawled out from behind his cover to retrieve his bow, trying to minimize his chances of being hit. Dirt and stone flew in his face, but at least he wasn't dead yet. Retrieving the bow and three arrows after an agonizing minute, Alain stood up and nocked the first arrow as quickly as he could, letting the projectile fly in a mere two seconds. "You've gotta be fucking kidding me." His confident smirk faltered when the arrow hit flying pieces of what used to be the stone barricades of the rebel side. If there was one thing he hated, it was being screwed over by nothing more than bad luck. The mercenary spat blood onto the nearby ground, a part of him acknowledging just how badly he must be injured for that to happen, but he was so annoyed by his misfortune that it was just a passing thought. Alain nocked the second arrow without the smirk, instead scowling furiously as he took aim. The arrow impaled itself in Luffy's thigh, just as the dagger split the bow, and both his middle and index fingers in half, sending blood across the dirt. Aside from briefly being glad that he didn't feel the pain, the mercenary's only response was to summon his Odachi once more, gaining a burst of speed and flying over the trench, slashing the crimson blade across his opponent's stretched leg. The pirate, blinded by pain and not wanting to lose his leg, had little choice but to tear the stretched limb out of the ground, stretch his arms to grab what little remained of the rebel flagpole, yell something that Alain did not hear due to the deafening cheer of the crowd, then using his improvised handhold to propel himself through the air, and to safety. The mercenary scowled and flew to pursue. The pirate managed to pull the arrow out of his thigh and roll to his feet just in time to evade the strike that would've severed his head. At this point, Alain just wanted to get this over with. "Gomu g-" The pirate began, only to get another slash across the ribs for his trouble. "If you think I'm not going to interrupt you every opportunity I get, you're mistaken." Alain snarled, slashing at his foe's head once more. Luffy ducked under the blade and, panicking for just a split second, lunged with his dagger. The mercenary's sword wasn't designed for it, but nevertheless he tried to block. The dagger, with the unbelievable strength of the pirate wielding it, pierced through Sresveltr. It shattered like crimson glass, the fragments dropping to the ground like blood. "Well, how about that...?" Alain muttered, delivering a swift kick to his opponent's stomach in the split second it took for them to comprehend what just happened. The pirate stumbled and dropped the dagger, the mercenary quickly retrieving it and preparing to fight with the improvised weapon for the minute it'd take for his blade to reform. Quote:Wordcounter says 739 words, 4179 characters. Re: Colosseum - Round 1, Group A - Luffy vs Alain - Monkey D. Luffy - 10-21-2015 Spirited ovations gushed skyward from the impassioned audience as ripples of hysteria immersed the ancient colosseum beneath an intoxicating deluge of moxie. Howling cheers and barking jeers fanned the fervent flames within the scattered brawlers congesting the isolated combat zones. With billows and booms, clinks and clangs, a motley crew of diverse scrappers whom journeyed far and wide from distant realms clashed, pitting mettle against metal. While the bulk of other skirmishes were nearing assured conclusion, Luffy and Alain stood with eyes trained and resolve untainted. Bruised, battered and bloodied, both contestants gingerly dug in and pushed forward, driven and full of spunk. "You're as persistent as you are limber, gummy bunny" the knife-for-hire lauded scornfully as he playfully tossed the unadorned, arena-grade dagger from palm to palm. "I s'pose it's high time I lay you to rest, monkey boy," he presaged matter-of-factly. Calmly expelling a breathe of reprieve to simmer down, the pirate extinguished his stewing temper. Approaching the nitty gritty and lacking in both stamina and hemoglobin alike, blind rage would pose more risk than benefit at this stage in the game. Creeping into a guarded stance, Alain prepped for another attempt on his foe's life. "I do have one regret. I should have kept your beloved dirt-farmer headwear as a souvenir to remember you by; after I take your life." Well, that certainly didn't last. Twitch. "GRK! . . . DAMN YOUUU!!" Mugiwara bawled, heaving a clamped fist forth with the force of cannon fire. Grinning triumphantly, the crimson-cloaked jerkoff pounced out of harms way, flourishing his corroded and battle-worn shiv. He'd likely need a tetanus shot just for wielding the thing after this match. All the same, he lurched behind the captain and swept clean through the air, though soon after he'd noticed his folly as he bisected nothing but air. "Gomu Gomu no . . . " Alain overheard the all-to-familiar incantation, soliciting a panicked scan of the area. His hasty inquisition fell inadequate as a slinking assault from above seized his attention. "AXE!" Straw Hat bellowed, chopping down with a protracted leg and nearly crushing his snarky assailant into a makeshift grave six feet under. Unfortunately, the merc's fleet of foot proved his savior once more as he narrowly avoided an impending doom. In his place, Luffy had engraved a sizable crater in the sandy pit and kicking up a waft of dust. Utilizing the soot cloud as cover, Alain lunged forth and dug his knife into Mugiwara's exposed abdomen, followed in kind by a swift roundhouse and grounding the airborne combatant with a thud, sweeping aloft a billow of dirt himself. Shanks, I . . . I dunno' how I can face you now. Your gift, it's . . . I'm sorry! Damn it! You inspired me, encouraged me. My Straw, no, YOUR Straw Hat. This guy, he . . . Ugh! No, not like this. I won't lose like this! I'll win and find a way to bring it back! I swear it! Keheh, heheheh . . I'm losing blood pretty fast here, gotta' end it quick or I'm out for the count. Alright, get it together. Let's do this! Yosh! "Keh, simpleton. One more well placed attack to your vitals and victory is mine," The mercenary boasted, awaiting his adversary's emergence from the grainy plume. Just scarcely, he could make out the pirate's cherry cardigan within the smokescreen's loose cavities. Prepared to deliver a final blow and curling a confident smirk, Alain dashed in and thrusted the jagged blade. Peculiarly, he felt almost zero resistance. "Huh?!" He inquired as the smog settled, revealing little other than the captain's swaying shirt attached to a pike embedded into the scarred terrain. Where the hell was the limp, lifeless body?! Where was his glorious victory?! The bladeslinger could not accept such a foolish error. The merc's peepers broadened in horror before darting to his rear, a meager few milliseconds too late; yet just late enough. A ticked off rubber man was already hot on his tail and hard on the offensive, wielding a pair of confiscated knuckle dusters over balled fists as he pitched an onslaught of infinitely indiscernible punches in a widely encompassing array which consumed half of the magical barrier in a conic formation, leaving nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. The rabble rouser's armor-plated paws sailed like a volley of peppering ballistics. "GOMU GOMU NO . . . IRON GATLING!!!" Baboombaboombaboom!! Ship For Brains (Luffy vs Alain, Colosseum) - Alain the Carnedge - 10-22-2015 Alain still found taunting his adversary to be incredibly amusing, though less so when he found himself outsmarted, and completely defenseless. The mercenary threw his knife at the pirate, the worn blade barely able to pierce flesh, and dove for the trench, only to have the wind knocked out of him by one of his foe's furious fists. He flew across the battlefield, though he controlled his flight so that he ended up in the trench. Involuntarily spitting out more blood, Alain went invisible and flew back out as fast as he could. The stretchy pirate's foot came down upon where he saw the mercenary land, but they were far too late. The mercenary had taken flight, levitating just below the barrier that prevented him from going further up. Luffy, meanwhile, started to destroy the arena in an attempt to reveal his foe. Alain savoured the brief respite, catching his breath and trying not to imagine just how messed up he was. The crowd fell silent as Luffy demolished the arena. Various weapons were scattered around, both flags had been torn down, and all of the barricades had practically ceased to exist. There was no sign of the mercenary after he had fell into the trench, and it seemed that he had disappeared from the arena entirely. Until the pirate leapt out of the way of what seemed to be nothing, Alain appearing with his reformed blood-red daggers. Luffy hurled the rusted knife at his adversary, the mercenary merely raising his arm to block it. The knife hit bone, but did not get even the slightest reaction of pain. He merely pulled the blade out and threw it in the trench. Both warriors stared at each other, unmoving, for a good few seconds. Alain kept watching, keeping one of the blades behind his back. The blade ignited in crimson flame and started to change shape, the other one disappearing in a flash of red light. Along with that, what little could be seen of the mercenary's flesh turned black, the gloves he wore being torn by two similarly dark claws of bone. "Shouldn't fight battles you can't win." Alain rasped. The pirate opened his mouth to respond and the mercenary took his chance, gaining a burst of speed and going to slash the blade across their ribs. Unfortunately, Luffy saw it coming due to the previous tricks, and leapt backwards before running at his opponent again, arm stretched far behind them. "Gomu Gomu No..." Alain waited with his flaming blade, unflinching. "...BULLET!" The pirate yelled, snapping his arm back in an attempt to deliver a powerful punch. Already expecting it, Alain stepped out of the way with minimal effort and slashed the extended limb immediately, causing Luffy to grimace in pain. The pirate retracted his arm immediately, gritting his teeth. The mercenary kept on the offensive, running towards his hatless adversary with hopes he'd finally be able to end the fight. Luffy grabbed another buckler from the ground and prepared to defend himself. Sresveltr clashed with the shield and, despite the defense, caused the pirate to stagger from the massively increased strength of both the blade and it's wielder. Luffy stretched his free fist to punch his opponent away, but Alain ducked under the blow and slashed at the pirate's gut. The flaming blade barely hit, but it still broke skin. The mercenary thought he could see his adversary's intestines, which made him wince again for a brief second. That didn't stop him from capitalizing on the moment that the pirate was frozen by agony to thrust a claw through the wound. "And I guess that's that." He grinned triumphantly. Luffy just glared at him, defiant. "Gomu Gomu No..." Their neck stretched backwards. "Ah, shit." He tried to pull the bloodstained claw out of his foe's insides. Too late. "...BELL!" The mercenary was thrown back by the headbutt, claw torn out of his foe's flesh anyway. Alain activated his own flight to stop himself, only to see a rubber fist coming his way. He tried to fly out of it's path, but it hit his arm, and the force alone separated it from his body. The disembodied limb hit the ground with a dull thud, both of the fighters silent for a few moments. "Well, not bad." Alain admitted. "But," The mercenary glanced at his other, still-attached arm, the skin beginning to return to it's normal colour. Either way, the fight was about to end. "it's time to finish this." Re: Colosseum - Round 1, Group A - Luffy vs Alain - Monkey D. Luffy - 10-26-2015 "Eeeyowww, ow, ow! This hurts like hell. Sure got me good you creep," Mugiwara scornfully praised, struggling to ignore the stinging twinge of copious lacerations adorning his battered physique. Branded with gashes and gouges by the plenty, the pirate was bleeding out at perilous rates. Fortunately, his clock of mortality wasn't the only one ticking in haste. "Feh, don't give me that crap. You did a number on me too ya' glorified gumball," Alain shot back, showcasing his mangled stump from which a fully functional forearm once grew. "'Least you've still got both of these!" "Ffufufufu, hooo man," Straw Hat stifled a chuckle between clamped jawbones, further irking his de-armed adversary. "Okay, I'm gonna' knock you out now, 'kay?!" With that final decree, the captain rumbled forth, primed and readied to bring this skirmish to resolution. Alain, noting his limited option, eyed the bow and arrow lying conveniently near his feet. "Gomu Gomu no . . . " Luffy murmured with a raspy tone, heaving his malleable arm back a considerable distance. Lunging forth, Alain seized the archery ballista and swiftly loosed a bolt with marksmen level accuracy. Though, his last ditch effort warranted little result as the arrow sailed clear passed Straw Hat, shallowly grazing his cheek. The pirate's haki-induced premonition saved him from sudden defeat. The same could not be said for his enemy. "PISTOL!" Pow! Taking the full brunt of Mugiwara's snapped fist right in the kisser, the crowd fell quiet as the merc's body fell limp. Ten long seconds came and went; Luffy was victorious. Rahhhhh. The audience boomed with applause and hoorah's, filling the rubber seaman with a sense of valor. "Kahaha! Woohooo!" He celebrated, thrusting his fists toward the heavens. Peering over at his fallen foe, Straw Hat identified a pile of effects spilling out from the assailant's cloak. One in particular caught his attention. "Ooh! A bean! Can I eat it? Hmm, I'll take it just in case! Alright, onward to more fun!" Quote:I will spare Alain without killing him. |
