Mock Fight: Lubbock vs Autumn - Lubbock - 10-12-2015

Lubbock wrapped his arms tightly around himself, his slender figure shivering furiously underneath his coat. Some warmer wear would have been ideal, but the assassin would just have to make do with what he had. His bland brown shoes trudged lazily through the snow. It was somehow distinctly more freezing than the Frozen Fields, and that was not a good thing. The viridian-haired boy's teeth began to chatter wildly, showing no signs of giving Lubbock some peace.

"Lubbock... Someone's approaching..." Syura whispered in Lubbock's head, the latter exhaling a sharp gasp, expelling a cone of frost through the biting, chilled air. His vision spun and laid upon a girl with white-blond hair, a guitar strapped to her back. Grinning widely, Lubbock turned to face the girl squarely. "Fancy meeting you here, Rose." He greeted the musician, relinquishing his body from his surprisingly tight grip. The wires upon the back of his crimson gloves glimmered in the tundra light, as if they, too, we're made of ice.

Autumn trudged through the heavy snow freezing. She had switched from her tennis shoes to her boots to keep her feet warm. Too bad she didn't have a pair of leggings to wear under her skirt but she have to deal with having only her thigh-high socks. On the bright side she had a long sleeved shirt and a scarf. Her ears perked up at the sound of a familiar voice. "I couldn't forget the guy who slammed me into the ground and decided to place his hands where he chooses to." A grin colored her face teasing him a little. She drew the guitar and gave it a few strums. "By the way, I owe you for that. Let's have a spar fight, just for fun."

Lubbock timidly scratched the back of his head. "C'mon, Rose, you know that was an accident... you can stop that already." He complained, shooting her a somewhat hurt look. "Ah, you just love faking it, don't you?" Syura echoed in Lubbock's head, and the assassin's fist clenched at his side. Oh, screw you, Syura, Lubbock retorted, scowling at the obnoxious voice. A grin crossed his lips when arose challenged him to a duel. "Haha, now we're talking! I guess this is where I show you the ropes and you teach me the strings, hey?" He referred back to the pun the girl had made upon their initial meeting. To show his enthusiasm, he flicked his wrists out, the wires running down his arms rapidly reeling out of the discs on the back of the gloves. The silver threads laid idly in the alabaster snow, camouflaged against their resting place.

"Let's do this!" Lubbock shouted, before rushing forwards and slinging his right-hand wires overhead. Rose's eyes traced the glimmering strings and seemed to notice the arcing path towards her guitar. Instinctively, she threw her arm upwards, the threads wrapping tightly around her flesh. Smirking, she seemed to have a plan... but when she attempted to strum her guitar, her hand would not move. A look back to Lubbock showed him pulling back on the set of five wires, grinning slyly. With his left hand, Lubbock formed the remaining wires into a sharp blade, the size of a typical longsword, and he began to close the distance, taking a stab at the musician's legs. Unsure whether he hit or not, he quickly retracted both wires, feeling the right set falling slack. In preparation for the return fire, he began weaving a small, threaded dome around him as a shield.

Autumn's leg drew red with a cut on the side of her calf. She winced at the pain in her leg. "Not bad, but now it's my twine to shine!" Laughing her string pun that they could never seemingly escape from, she began her power chords and launched a sound wave at Lubbock. Unable to escape from the dome of his own thread, he was forced to hope it would absorb the strike. Luckily for him, it stayed intact, but unfortunately for him the soundwave had leveled the snow and thickened the atmosphere in density, making it hard to see more than three meters in front of his dome. He heard the guitar, much closer than where the sound wave was let off from, and fire engulfed Lubbock's thread dome. The dome was unable to sustain the strength after the force of the sound wave weakened it, and he felt the burn. The heat seared his arm, which had raised instinctively, and the fire even melted some snow around them, revealing some grass in the thick snow and clearing the density of the immediate atmosphere. "And that is why you should never use home-made pyrotechnics, Lubbock." She giggled and took short jumps back to give herself some room.

Lubbock barely weaved half of the shield when he felt the sound wave hit the mass of the woven string. It absorbed most of the impact, but the shock still reverberated through the entirety of the half-dome, the pressure threatening to crush his chest. "Ah, shit!" He cursed and clutched at his chest as the wave finished its onslaught, permitting him time to unravel the cocoon and stumble away from his bubbly opponent. "You're getting really into this, huh?" He called out as he stood up straight. If he was going to do more damage with his wires, he was going to need to upgrade his weaponry...

The wires still trailing from Lubbock's hands began to shift, as if with a mind of their own, and they gained a blue tinge, much like the early night sky above. The Realm-Cutting Thread... he hadn't used it in quite some time. He raised his hand to his side and slung the wires forwards, the thin blades slicing through the air as if wind resistance didn't exist. In response, Rose strummed a series of chords, releasing another cone of pure sound in hopes to misdirect the oncoming threat... but the wires simply slice through the sound itself, slashing across Rose's face, chest and arm. To Lubbock's delight, the girl's shirt began to tear at the chest slightly. Oh, sweet! He praised himself, a smug look on his face. Syura suddenly coughed, bringing the assassin's attention back to Rose. She looked furious, like a mad bull... and boy, was she seeing red!

"Ahh, crap..." Lubbock cursed under his breath, preparing to dodge at a moment's notice... but he wasn't exactly prepared for the girl's next move.
