The Kid - The Kid - 10-04-2015 Character name: The Kid Character source: Bastion (Property of super giant games) Character history: I am taking this character from a position in his story after the restoration ending. "But I've never heard of bastion!" You say, well allow me to give you and abridged version of his story.
The Kid never knew his pa, his mother was a sickly and frail little gall. She gave him his pretty white hair, though he always did get plenty of heat for it when he was young. He was born into the city of Calandia, a nation state at war with the only other nation on the continent. The tribal people of the Ura. School was not working out, so he decided to leave home and make his momma some money. To protect a town that grand it needed high, high walls. Steep enough to protect it's people from any attack. It needed men to guard it and even step outside of it's protection in order o protect crucial resources like mines and logging mills. It was young men like him who joined the army that kept his people safe. After five years his time was up. When he headed home he found his mothers time had been up too. The money he had sent home was gone. So for the first time in the history of his people he stepped back up and took another five year turn on those horrifying walls, taller than the eye could see. Before he could even reach the age of twenty, something bad went down. The calamity. Undoing five hundred years of progress** in the blink of an eye. He set out from his post to go find the place that everyone was told to go in times of trouble. He passed by a ghost town, burning and crumbled. The entire world had blown up and lied in pieces on the floor. But it built itself up for him with every step he took. He got to the bastion all right, but the only man who was there was an old stranger by the name of Rucks. A man so involved in setting things back that he never even asked the boy his name. He told him that the bastion could fix it all. That it was a time machine of grand proportions capable of setting everything back. The one thing it needed was power. So he was sent out to gather the cores, tiny glowing stones found deep beneath the ground that could light up miles of city at a time. He had to fight tooth and nail as the less... Human and more resilient of the city's populous had taken the opportunity to repopulate and take the new world back. Eventually he came across two people. A girl about his age who was strumming a harp after the end of the world, and a man who dispite the days that had passed since the calamity. Still looked up to the sky as if waiting for the gods to give and answer. The girl has a dusty old tome written in the language of the Ura. Although the two newcomers both had Ura blood. Only the man could read it as he was raised amung his people. That old book contained half the secrets of the entire calamity. The Kid would later learn that the calamity was a worse case scenario plan. For the Calandians to use in case if the five hundred years of war with the Ura came to a clamax, and they ever breached those tall walls the kid was stationed at. It would obliterate the land in a way unheard of and never allow life to grow there again. The man who had invented it, the girls father. Had told her to hide in a very particular place one day before he want to work. An Ura scientist being forced against his kind was a bad mix. He set it off to obliterate half of the entire world. The man banged up the most crucial part of the bastion when they were hours from resetting. And fled northwards to home. Once he got there his people heard his tale and started grabbing up the one things that could fix the bastion. Shards, weaker versions of the cores. So the Kid went on a one man march to follow that man. Forced to kill as many Ura as it took to set things all back. After just two months of this he had reached he Ura's home to the south. They were... Displeased that the man had lead the boy all the way back home. So he was stabbed, beaten, and left for dead. The Kid found him laying there. Dying in the snow, clutching the last piece of the puzzle to set the world straight again. In an act of humanity he left behind one of the greatest weapons of war the old world had to offer. He picked up the man instead. He carried him all the way inside of the Ura's last safe haven. At first those few of them that were left rained down on him arrows. But he never shot back. Once he met the wall of men preventing him from getting to the skyway in the center of the town (Mystical devises capable of launching a man into the sky, far enough to take him anywhere in the world. The only thing that would allow him and the man to get back with their wounds) The men stepped aside and allowed him to leave. So the Kid found himself at the bastion. Fixed up and good to go. He searched withing himself to stand up and finish the job he had worked so hard for. His only two friends in the world stood there. He had a choice. Either reactivate the bastion and reset the world. Or detonate the cores in order to give them the lift to fly to another piece of the globe. Where the calamity might not have hit. It was then that the man named Rucks revealed how he had survived. He had invented this safe haven. He knew how it worked and was in it when the world met it's end. He told him one simple thing. If they reset, they will loose all of their memory's of eachother and might not be able to avert the calamity in the first place. He took the chance. He wanted all of those loved ones of his that he had fought for so long to save to walk the world again. To finish their lives. He pulled the leaver, and watched as the world unwound itself and was rebuilt. A poor choice, as without even knowing this.... He found himself pulling the same lever again and again and again. He had caught the entire world in a time loop. Making it less and less stable with each reset. Thousands upon thousands of time these strands were reknitted. Only the tiniest amount of dejavou appearing in his mind. He did not care, he would never give up on the dream. Until he reached for the lever one day, and was pulled out of his very reality. Everything fell away from him and turned to white.
Stats: ATK: 2 DEF:4 SPD: 1 TEC: 3 Starting Proficiencies: Physical strength Ranged Area attack Starting Powers: Starting Moves: Move: Cael Hammer (Requires Physical Strength - Cost=600) The Kid's best friend, a hammer weighing twelve pounds at the head. This weapon takes plenty of time to build up strength with for a good swing (A normal swing would be just under a second but the strongest he could pull off would take two and a half seconds to prepare). But if it connects, well. It was designed to be used for demolishing wooden structures. It's handle is five feet long and wrapped with cloth for a better grip The actual head of the hammer is seven and a half inches tall in the middle. Making it exactly as tall as the Kid.

Move: Breakers Bow (Requires Ranged Proficiency - Cost=300) For this huge, red longbow. It's a challenge for a great man to even string it. Let alone use it effectively. Still, the kid has mastered the use of this. It fires huge arrows that are fifteen inches long. Firing an arrow takes a flat three seconds. Meaning it is a very poor weapon to reach for when the enemy is near. Very accurate.

Super move: Calamity Cannon (Requires ranged proficiency, requires area attack proficiency. Cost=600) The Kid takes out an unholy cannon that was never meant to be wielded by man, made by Ruck's after his world fell apart. After a three second charge up he fires an orb of chaotic energy. This energy is about the size of a dodge ball and fly's at the speed of such a ball given a furious throw. On impact it explodes. A six meter area is charred and twisted with the fires of something wrong. If someone is killed with this move. They will simply become a stone statue (normally with a terrified expression) Ten seconds later they will turn into dust and blow away in the breeze like dust. Not a weapon to be taken lightly, is so large it must be carried over the shoulder.

Super defense move: Lifewine (Cost: 600) "A hit of life whine can keep you going in the darkest of times" The kid drinks plenty of this Calandian grape juice. For a good reason, if he wills himself too then the wine can provide an instant, near invisible force field for a brief moment around him when he get's hit by a super move. This requires no charge up time and can be activated on the fly. However, the drawback to this drink is the fact that he still feels pain when he does take the hit. Depending on the super move this could be minor pain that sets him back a little bit or enough to drive him to his knee's. (This is depending on the physical power of the move, a sword slash would not hurt him as much generally as a RPG as his shield takes in more direct force.) (Only works on tier one super moves) I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Re: The Kid - Minato Namikaze - 10-04-2015 I will encourage you to look at some other Joining Forms. Although there is nothing wrong with this app, you posted moves to the move approval thread and I assume you want those approved for joining? They can just go in here. And I also want to make sure that you understand everything ![]() Join App. I recommend this one because it is set out well and I think will help you. Of course, this is an experienced Member's join app so you may opt to look at some of the other ones instead. Re: The Kid - The Kid - 10-05-2015 Thanks! I am all done with his moves. Re: The Kid - Minato Namikaze - 10-06-2015 Quote:He was told that that his choice to not let go of the past was going to eventually cause damage to other universes if he kept it up.I'm not familiar with your character's source... But Omni mentions nothing of this Quote:He was told that it was possible that he could draw his friends to the world to stay with him later if he so desired.Omni does say something like this, but in more broader terms, no specifics, your character is supposed to learn these things as he goes. please put the prices of each proficiency/ power next to them in brackets. Cael Hammer - How large is the hammer? the dimensions of the handle and the dimensions of the actual hammer head itself. How long does it take to actually swing the hammer? Bullhead Shield - How large is the shield? This move is not guaranteed to deflect projectiles right back at the person using the move. That would be determined by a case by case basis between yourself and the people you fight (however, in non competitive situations, etc your own story line/ pve, it would be fine). In what ways can he use the shield as a weapon? Calamity Cannon - T1 Super moves cost 600 OM. Super moves will rarely be the thing that kills someone, and when a Prime dies, their body disappears. But against anyone that isn't a prime, the stone statue effect will be fine. Stand up - In what way is he able to stop the damage of a t1 Super move? does he coat himself in an invisible energy? because at the moment it just sounds like you're taking the damage and just saying it has no effect on him. Re: The Kid - Gamzee Makara - 10-06-2015 Minato Namikaze Wrote:Quote:He was told that that his choice to not let go of the past was going to eventually cause damage to other universes if he kept it up.I'm not familiar with your character's source... But Omni mentions nothing of this If I may, Minato, I have played Bastion to its 'end' and I just would like to mention that I'm pretty sure he/she is, in a sense, mixing together the end of Bastion and the meeting with Omni. I know that that isn't necessarily allowed, but I'm kinda just explaining that he's not just pulling it out of nowhere. Re: The Kid - Minato Namikaze - 10-06-2015 Gamzee Makara Wrote:Minato Namikaze Wrote:Quote:He was told that that his choice to not let go of the past was going to eventually cause damage to other universes if he kept it up.I'm not familiar with your character's source... But Omni mentions nothing of this I understand this, which is why I said that thing about the character's source. Even so, the Omni introduction can't be altered in any way and I'm just asking him to change it so that people are clear that Omni's introduction, is Omni's introduction. Re: The Kid - The Kid - 10-06-2015 Alright then! All issues have been addressed. I have changed the ending with his history to say nothing of Omni, I have stated the size of the hammer, and I have changed the super defensive move into something very similar. Re: The Kid - Minato Namikaze - 10-08-2015 Cael Hammer - this move costs 600 Because you have a normal swing and then a second, charged up, swing that causes more damage Breakers Bow - Speed isn't something that moves generally work off (unless it's a move that Directly makes use of movement), I would make it a flat draw speed of 3 seconds. no mitigating this with other stats. I say this because the 3 second draw speed which is what gives it a little more power than a regular bow that you can just draw in a single second and then fire. Bullhead Shield - I'm going to say this needs the Area Shield Proficiency Calamity Canon - Approved (just remember that Super Moves are not 1 hit KO's) Lifewhine - Approved Re: The Kid - The Kid - 10-09-2015 All done, I got rid of the shield (for now) as I don't have enough points to pick it up. All other changes are complete. Re: The Kid - Minato Namikaze - 10-09-2015 Approved, I will have your stuff set up shortly, you'll also need to post in the help desk for a name change toy your characters name (The Kid) Re: The Kid - Minato Namikaze - 10-09-2015 Name: The Kid Level: 1 Spent OM: 4700 Proficiencies: (2600); Physical Strength (1000), Ranged Proficiency (1000), Area Attack (600) Powers: (0); Moves: (900); Cael Hammer (600), Breakers Bow (300), Super Moves: (1200); Super Attack - Calamity Canon (600), Super Defense - Lifewine (600) Transformations: Assists: Items: Bases: Unlocks: Base stats: ATK: 2 DEF: 4 SPD: 1 TEC: 3 Make a new thread in the Roster section and copy and paste the above into the first post.
