On the Road to Colosseum - Undyne - 09-22-2015 Alexyana had roamed around the forests of Camelot for the past handful of days ever since having met Ludwig and having been interrupted by the bear-like thing that she'd killed. While this world was still strange and mostly unfamiliar, she had been able to snatch up bits and pieces of conversation from unaware travelers and the guardsmen around the portal - mostly by hiding in the foliage and sitting still as they walked by. While moving she made a lot of noise and was quite visible, but if holding still and thanks to the dark color of her scales and a little mud to hide the shimmering, people mistook her for a rock or such. "... apparently yes. There's been someone attempting to get to the King's quarters... yes, of course he was caught. Fool doesn't stand a chance. Probably was an agent from the Empire..." "Did you hear about the rampaging dragon? I think a group of Primes took it down or something..." "... and if you add just a pinch of coriander it'll mitigate the bitter taste, it's delicious..." "... the larger influx is due to the Colosseum tournament, didn't you hear? There's flyers all over the place..." A tournament? Alexyana hmmed and waited for that last pair of travelers to be safely out of hearing distance before she got up and returned onto the road after washing off the mud and making herself look presentable once more. She headed towards the portal that she had entered this verse through and kept her eyes out for any sort of poster or the like that might have been put on a tree or other plainly visible surface. Around here, in the vicinity of the portal, it had to be one of the best places to spread information, right? It did indeed not take her very long before she came across a wooden blackboard that stood along the roadside and held various papers with information on them. At first she wondered how the kingdom could afford this many writers - most of the writing was very neat and legible, too - but then she remembered the Omnilium. It probably was a matter of minutes for an individual to summon a whole stack of flyers like this with little effort. She walked closer and took a look. ... there it was. Advertising for a tournament held at the Colosseum... yadda yadda many thanks to the organziers, that wasn't so interesting... "All Primes are welcome to apply". Hmm. Primes... hadn't she heard something? From what she remembered, they were the people having been pulled to this world by the faceless one... that Omni person. So she was one? And where was that taking place? In Camelot, perfect... and there was plenty of time to go there. But the dragoness was a careful one, and knowing how she was only vaguely familiar with a very small part of Camelot, she was not going to take her chances with this. Better be five days early than five minutes late. And who knows, she might meet a few other people along the way. Involuntarily she bared a few teeth for a broad smile before she whistled between her teeth to get her Kumdo to come to her again, and mounted up... then remembered something, she hopped back off and focused the flyer, summoning up a copy of it for herself, much like she'd conjured up her mount days ago. It would probably look VERY stupid if she got herself lost because she couldn't find her way on the last handful of miles. Honestly? It wasn't about the tournament, about the thrill of battle or even about the fame the winner would undoubtedly get. It was about the prospect of throwing herself into the cold water, of learning her new strengths and weaknesses in this universe the "hard" way, but in a controlled environment. What's the worst that could happen? A few days worth of death. She didn't think that she would make it very far considering how she was entirely new and unused to this world, but perhaps she could cash in a victory or two. Then she'd help her foe up and invite them to sit in the spectator ranks with a corndog and watch the other ongoing battles until they had to go fight again. And if she lost, she'd hope that her foe decided to not kill her, so she wouldn't miss out on the fights. And even if she did, she'd have a chance to meet a fair number of other Primes, get herself introduced and possibly make a few friends. Or at the very least she'd learn something about this Omniverse place... "Ho there! On we go!" She called to drive her Kumdo to start heading along the road and towards the large city which was named as a point of reference in the flyer. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-26-2015 Dawnika enters into Camelot and she looks at herself touching her arms and head then looks back at the portal/gate. "By Nyx's shadow, what in Quotin IS that mechanism??" After she was done being amazed by the strange transportation gate she looked around at her surroundings and sees many more inane things, yet what really catches her eyes are the flying horse like creatures with wings. "What in the NetherRealms are those things?" Turning to Konlal after dismounting she grinned slightly. "Konlal, we're going to touch the sky." The horse nieghes loudly coming up on two legs then back down. Dawnika stood still as she focused her Omnilium to summon wings on Konlal. After a few moments Konlal gained wings and Dawnika mounted back up. "To the clouds!" She pointed to the air as Konlal rose and started to fly up into the sky. Dawnika screamed in terror and excitement as she gripped Konlal's reigns tightly. "Konlal this is amazing! This world...I have to be dreaming!" Dawnika had been allowing her emotion to run wild, she couldn't help it. This world was great, she could do just about anything as long as it doesn't interfer with Omni's rules. Finally Dawnika was able to see her destination from up high, Camelot was in the distance. "Go towards the town over there Konlal. We're going to enter a tournament." She grinned and laughed as Konlal sped for the ity in the distance. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-27-2015 The dragoness stopped by a crossroad, several hours after having begun on her way. What a great way to start her journey... she didn't even know what the right way was now. And apparently the Camelot-ians, or whatever they called themselves around here, either had stolen the signs indicating which way was which, or they had been too lazy to put a signpost up in the first place. Freaking great... She looked down both directions. If it wasn't stupid enough, both ways seemed to be leading to big cities, too. How was she supposed to know which one was the right one? That one city seemed to be floating in the sky... that could be the capital, right? But how did she know it wasn't? Her best bet would be to wait for someone to ask for directions, and... wait, what was that? There was something up there, flying, and it was way too big for an eagle. And... and yes! There was someone up there, sitting on its back! Maybe she was in luck... Alexyana brought her fingers up to her mouth, slid two claws between her teeth, took a deep breath and released a whistling sound so strong that, had there been thin glass in her vicinity, it might have shattered from the high pitch. But at the distance that the person was flying from her, she would likely only hear the whistling itself, and the rough direction it was coming from. Following that Alexyana raised both hands and waved them up and down in wide motions to attract attention to herself, silently cursing that she wasn't able to use her firebreath instead. Stupid system. Provided that the other person came close enough to hear her, she would shout in addition to her movements: "Oy there, traveler! Do you happen to know the way to the capital of this land? Minas something? I'm fish about where to go from here!" Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-27-2015 Enjoying her time in the sky, Dawnika had Konlal making spins and corkscrews in the sky. After getting serious and heading towards the capital of Camelot, she heard a high pitched noise piercig her ears. Konlal reacted as well and in reaction flew towards the whistle. "No, Konlal wait!" She braced her self for a near dive bomb towards the person that whistled. Konlal landed in front of the dragon creature and neighed at her. Dawnika finally able to sit withoutfalling off sat up and looked at the creature. "You're the one who called Konlal?" Her previous expressions of thrill and excitement vanished and she was back to her emotionless rock stature. She hung her head low, one of her eyes covered by her long bangs. "You are a dragon? We have those in Xenithia, but much bigger." Taking a wild guess she assumes others are drug in from other universes, so it could only be fight to assume she'll see many new things in this Omniverse. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-27-2015 "Hoooh. Ease off, big guy." Alexyana said while giving her Kumdo comforting pettings. Although it was larger than the being that the other person was coming down with, it was scared as it mistook it for some sort of predator that was coming diving from the sky to attack. The dragoness managed to calm it sufficiently that it didn't run away again, but she didn't mount back up. Not yet, anyway. It was a good thing that there was plenty of open space around the crossroads so even though Konlal was rather large, as were Alexyana and her Kumdo, there was no lack of space when Dawnika landed. Even so, she backed away a step out of reflex. Then she offered a smile as she listened to the other's words. Hmm... is she referring to herself in the third person? Konlal doesn't really sound like a girl's name, but... you never know, I guess. Better play it safe. She nodded. "I whistled to attract your attention... you seemed to be flying towards some specific location, which led me to believe that you know your way around here. Like I said, I'm looking for this Minas city, if you know where that is..." But, the other girl changed subjects, throwing Alexyana off for a moment. She frowned but then nodded. "I am indeed. But I'm no feral dragon, like most of my brothers and sisters of race. I'm an anthropomorphic dragon... a humanoid, in common language." Crossing her arms beneath her chest, she eyed the other girl for a few moments before continuing. "Though I can't say I know this... Xenita? That country you mentioned. Or world, whatever it may be. I hail from the kingdom of Ilan, though I doubt that it matters much around here. This place seems to be a mix of worlds tossed into one big soup and stirred together into a world." She then took a step forward and offered a hand. "I'm Alexyana." Now let's see... either she's named Konlal, or she'll give me her actual name, right? Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-27-2015 Dawnika looked down from on top of Konlal and dismounted confused as to why she held her hand out. She didn't shake Alexyana's hand due to the void knowledge of the greeting. "In my home land I'm mainly known and refered to as the Demon Princess, but the name I was given by my parents is Dawnika. My winged friend here is named Konlal. As for the information you requested, I have no idea where I am other than what the white faceless god told me. I chose this direction at random and was notified of a battle royale of sorts in the area. I was heading to the city this way to gather more information." Dawnika's curiosity gnawed at her. "What does this gesture signify?" she held out her hand as Alexyana did when she was dissmounting from Konlal. "Is this a sign of greeting?" Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-27-2015 Alexyana's initial smile which was welcoming but moreso well-mannered than an honest, bright smile, turned into just that when Dawnika inquired. She chuckled. "I'm sorry. I do forget that different lands have different customs." Her huge clawed hand grasped Dawnika's and she gently shook it up and down, well aware of her size and strength. "It's a form of greeting where I come from, yes. Sorry to have caught you off-guard with it." Demon Princess, hm? I might need to ask a bit further on what that means... She withdrew her hand and eyed Konlal, now with some clarity as to who was who, while petting her Kumdo's head. "Pleased to meet you both. This fella here has no name yet, it'll earn itself one if it holds out for a while." Onto more pressing matters now. She crossed her hands beneath her chest again and frowned. "A white humanlike figure, no eyes or nose but a big scary smile, and a male voice? I met him - it? - too, apparently it's some form of god in this realm, and the one who brought me, and it seems you too, to this place. Don't know much myself." She looked to the sky. "Listen... perhaps we could help each other. I'm on my way to this tournament myself. I know a little bit about where we are at - a realm named Camelot, it seems - but I don't know much more than you do. I was planning on waiting for other travelers, there's bound to be some if they come to the tournament, and ask them for directions. But if you could fly ahead and return here, I'd be very grateful - I'd share anything I learn from people coming by here in your absence in return, that's all I can offer up." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-27-2015 Dawnika agreed that it would be in their best interests to work together at least for now. "It's quite alright,"Dawnika's hand clinched at the sudden touch of thier hands. "You are one of the coolest beings I've ever met. You look powerful as well." Something about the dragon being intruiged her, she was like a Ta-riin only was half dragon instead of golem. "I'll scout ahead and return hopefully within the hour." Dawnika mounted back onto Konlal, but as he took off to fly his wings vaporized into the air and the both of them came crashing down. Dawnika fell and hit the ground next to Konlal a few yards away from Alexyana. "On second thought Konlal...let's just hoof it." Both the horse and Akame stood back up. Dawnika remounted and signaled him to move, taking one last glance back at Alexyana. Someone actually talked to me, that wasn't Akame, without drawing a sword. This world is really starting to seem better than Quotin. Although...I am most likely only dreaming. Still, might as well enjoy it. It didn't take long for Dawnika and Konlal to reach Minas. She talked with a few of the commoners about the tournament. Most of them just pointed her to where she could sign up but that was all she needed for the moment. She signaled Konlal back in the direction where Alexyana was waitingat the cross roads. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-27-2015 "Great. Although..." She grinned in a mishievous way. "... don't think that if we two end up against each other I'll treat you any nicer while we're in the ring. I doubt I can come very far, but if I can win, I'll try my best. And I hope you do the same." She honestly meant what she said, though she was starting to like Dawnika. Hopefully they'd have fun on their trip to the colosseum and after the tournament too. She wasn't in it for the prize money after all, but to get to know people. And so far, it was working out. "Powerful though? I'm not so sure. I used to be... well, strong where I originate from but I'm not so sure here. I found myself unable to even breathe fire since I arrived, though when I can I will make sure to fix it." She eyed the sword over Dawnika's back for a moment. "You don't seem like a rookie either, I might add. I'm not a swordfighter, but I can distinguish a weapon for show from one that's actually used. Though if you're out to a tournament I guess that that's normal." When Dawnika took off only to crash right back into the ground the dragoness's eyes widened and she hurried over, but Dawnika mounted back up and left, apparently unhurt, which made her back off again and shrug. She sat by the crossroads sign and leant back, instead observing her Kumdo as it began to graze on the juicy grass that was growing all around them. She checked the course of the sun every so often though to keep track of time, see if she had to catch up to Dawnika if she left. Otherwise, she just waited for her return, or for something else to happen. On second thought, actually... I could've gone the other way. But... ah, too late now. I better stay here and wait for her to come back before she returns while I'm gone and gets worried. I can always head out if she doesn't find anything. So, she just waited. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-27-2015 Dawnika rushed out of Minas on the road that would lead her back to Alexyana. She was glad that no one attacked her, she must look human for the most part. Let's try to keep my demonic presence at a minimal while I'm in cities. Don't need angry mobs trying to kill me. Dawnika hurried back to the dragon as quickly as possible. She was still amazed at how fast Konlal could run. He was running at least four times faster than when she rode him in Xenithia. Upon her return, Dawnika dismounted and approached her Dragon friend. "I think I've found our tournament. In the city I went to many of the people I asked about the tournament showed me to the sign up area. I'll show you the way." Alexyana seemed to just noticed that her sword on her back was being held up by...nothing. it was floating on her back. With a closer examination it seemed to have a slight aura of magic around it, that might explain why it's floating, yet something was still weird about that sword. Dawnika, ready for a fight, grabbed her sword and gave it a few swings. "You said you lost your ability to breathe fire...that must mean I lost my abilities as well." She let off her anger a little. The black arua arose from her body as her Demonic Rage began but as soon it started it flickered and faded away. "Damnation...looks like my abilities are gone as well." She looked up at Alexyana and gave a small smile. "I hope we get the chance to fight in the colloseum." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-28-2015 Dawnika would find the dragoness still sitting where she'd left her off, juggling a few pebbles with one hand and watching her Kumdo graze nearby. When she heard the hooves on the ground however she looked up, then got to her feet and dusted her backside off as she listened to the explanation. "That's great... thank you for the help. I owe you one." She smiled brightly as she said so, then whistled the same way she had done before, though much less loudly, to call her Kumdo over. Moments later she mounted up and took the reins to lead it next to Konlal. "Sounds like the place. I only saw one tournament being advertised for on the blackboards I came across, so I think you got the right one. I'm right behind you." She spurred the Kumdo on although it was quick to understand what was expected of it, and started following Konlal before it. "Hmm? Yep... I suppose that to fit in with the remainder of the universe we were cut down to size, though this... Omnilium thing, it helps. I was able to recover my most essential powers after my arrival here, anyway. Remember how you crashed with your horse? That might be just another of the effects, though it's not impossible to fly. You just need something neither of us have yet." She observed Dawnika's sword movements and attempting to conjure up... something, and shrugged. "If I understood things right, this Omnilium stuff will help us at recovering these things, or even grow beyond it. An odd rule, but I suppose it can be worked with. I just need to find out how to obtain more of it, quickly. I know it naturally comes to us due to us wanting it, but... perhaps it could be drawn like a natural resource, or I could drain it from other individuals." She thought aloud, before noticing she did, and blushed slightly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you with that last bit. Although..." She allowed her Kumdo to catch up to Konlal until they were moving side by side on the broad path. For now it was straight so there was no need to let herself be led. "You mentioned being a Demon Princess, and you don't seem to be human either - at least, not entirely. May I ask what that is - or used to be before your arrival here? I'm asking because... well, I am partially demonic myself. Mainly dragon but... it's complicated but comes down to that one quarter of me is demon. It may be an entirely different form of demon than what you know, but it gets me curious. Did you use to rule a demon world, or did you aspire to do so at least?" After a moment, she then added: "By the way, if you feel like you're telling me a lot, feel free to ask yourself too. If we do wind up fighting each other in the tournament or anytime after I wouldn't want an unfair advantage." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-29-2015 Dawnika listened to her thoughts she had accidentally spoken. "It all makes sense. The giant white god put us all on levels that would be even. If we all ran wild with our maximum powers like crazy men, the wouldn't be so much like a system. Without a system everything would just collapse and all hell would break loose." Konlal was ordered to come to a halt, which in turn cuased the Kumdo to stop as well, when the dragoness asked of her title. "My people are known as Akame. The Akame are the demons of Quotin and well known for our extreme prowess in battle. We are what we seem, demon, but that does not entail that we are in fact feral. Akame's have hearts of gold, and we are just as much a being that deserve rights like any other. We are not evil, and we have fought for 500 years with the Solmiir to prove as much. I was their Princess yesterday, and was supposed to be their queen today. For all I know, this is most likely a dream. I simply have to awake, and if this is truely not a dream, than by Nyx I will not be weak and let others walk on top of me." Dawnika resumed movement with Konlal. Her speech sounded harse but it was merely her voices emotionless tone. She can easily be missunderstood when someone listens to her speak. Minas was in the distance now. "Here it is. This is where the tournment will be held." They approached the big building where they were taking applicants. "This is the place. I think you should go first. You seem more eager for this tourney than I. Maybe after we are done signing up we could do some training together. Mayhaps we could even gain some more of this omnilium stuff for a good battle?" She looked at the dragoness and waited for her reply. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-29-2015 "That would probably make the most sense. I figured something similar myself... if this is a new reality where people from all over get pulled into, there must be an underlying system to prevent huge differences in power. I mean, what I define as "powerful" could be considered weak in your homeworld, or the other way around. Or the magic that I know from my homeworld could not be existing here, effectively meaning that I'm powerless." She hmmed at the thought, then shrugged. "I suppose that we will find out as we go. Especially at the tournament." When Dawnika began to speak of her people, Alexyana fell quiet and listened intently. However, her thoughts ran wild, memorizing names and explanations. Quotin must be the name of the land, or world where she comes from... Akame is their word for demon? And they weren't evil, nor were they feral. She stroked over her chin with great interest. Perhaps these Akame are something quite different than what I thought. A race, like humankind. And the... Solmiir? Are they angels or some other lifeform which is considered innately good? She cleared her throat at the last bit however. "I have no way of proving that I am not in fact a figment of your imagination, but in that same way I cannot be sure if it is me dreaming and you are merely a figure made up by my mind. I've kind of concluded that while I am not awake to prove myself it was a dream, I will consider this reality. Everything around me, the world, the people, you... just a strange reality which a strange being has pulled me into." When coming to the building near the Colosseum where applications were being taken, Alexyana dismounted and hmmed, eyeing the large building for a few seconds before she turned to Dawnika. "A little training would be great. I haven't battled for years now, I'm feeling rusty. But honestly, the tournament and any prizes to be won here are secondary to me. I want to meet people and gain some understanding of the levels of power we're dealing with around here. A tournament almost always attracts interesting people, powerful individuals who compete for the crown. Sometimes even leaders of groups or kingdoms who wish to prove their military strength to their rivals. All that is useful information I would not want to miss out on." She grinned, reaching for Dawnika's hand but doing so in a way that was purposedly easy to see, if Dawnika did not want to be grabbed. Regardless of if she got to take her hand though, she said: "Let's go sign up together. There's no reason to be doing it one at a time." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-29-2015 Dawnika allowed her hand to be taken, though she wasn't ready to be drug into the building. She nearly tripped as Alexyana rushed forward. The people of Minas seemed to stare at the two beingsoddly. The two were a weird bunch although no one challenged them, Iin fact kost seemed to be trying to keep their distance. They intered into the building, it was bigger on the inside than the outside. Dawnika could see the sign up area near the other end of the room. Yhere weren't as many people as she had expected. If this was in Quotin, everyone from Luna to Umbra would be signing up for the tournament. They aprroached the sign up area, there was only one man at work here so the process was going a bit slow. Alexyana signed up before her, so she just sat and did some thinking. Father is dead...I tore uncle to shreds and now Xenithia needs me. I'm either in a coma or this really is happening. What will happen to Xenithia? All of our royal blood is gone. I'm sure Kaylee will keep things under control, everyone loves and supports her as a general. I just can't help but worry that everything will fall apart, or that Illumina will try another full scale assault. Dawnika was now just staring into space as it came to her turn to sign up. "Ma'am? Ma'am? Hey?!" Caught off gaurd fron the yell, Dawnika jumped. "Are you gonna sign up or are you gonna stare at the wall all day?" She quickly filled out the paper work and such and returned to Alexyana. All the dragoness could see from her right now was that she seemed lost, or she was just trapped in her thoughts. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-29-2015 Alexyana waited at the entrance, looking back and forth between Konlal and her Kumdo and Dawnika to make sure that nobody got too close to the two mounts, and that her friend was doing alright. When she saw Dawnika return, she opened her maw to say something but, seeing the absent face, she closed it again and instead awkwardly put her hands behind her back and walked back to their mounts alongside her. "I don't think that whatever it is that got your mind is something you want to share?" She remarked as she sat down cross-legged and stretched her arms in front of herself, claws intertwined with each other to stretch her knuckles and finger joints, just to do something. "If not, my offer still stands - ask me what you want and I'll reply, I owe you as much after listening to your explanations." She looked up to her friend, then gave a smile to underline her point. "By the way. I think I majorly misunderstood what you meant when you referred to yourself as Demon Princess. The Akame, those demons from your realm, appear to be an entirely different thing than the type of demon that I am. I should perhaps go over what I am so you understand it better. Here..." She brushed away pebbles and dust, freeing up some ground in front of her where she drew a diagram on using her claws. She drew a large circle and two squares before connecting the two squares with a line, and connecting that line to the circle in a rough Y shape: the circle was at the bottom of the Y and the two squares at the top of each branch. "This here, the circle, is the world. The world of the living, I mean... like, where people are before they die. Now, these two squares are Heaven and Hell... I guess you may have had religions in your homeworld about how when you die, your soul is judged and if you are good you get to go to Heaven to enjoy paradise for having been a good person, and if you are bad you get sent to Hell to get punished for it? It kind of works this way, and kind of not. The part about good people going to Heaven and bad ones going to Hell is true though. Your soul leaves your body, becomes a spirit and is sent to one of the two realms depending on how you have been in life. Now here's the trick... if you go to Heaven your soul is changed to become an angel, same with Hell where you become a demon like I am. Demons and angels are essentially manifestations of a person's spirit, and their powers and abilities tend to be a result of that person's inclinations. They are also tangible, meaning that they can interact with the physical world unlike a ghost - touch things and such. Before you ask by the way, I'm not an evil person that went to Hell. I'm an exception of sorts - the daughter of two demons. I was born as a demon." She took a breath to pause for a moment, then explained on. "A soul is almost indestructible. You can injure it but inflicting lasting damage on it is not possible, kind of the same way as you can make a body of water dissipate into tiny droplets but you can't destroy the water itself. There are possibilities, but that's a story for another day. Souls, both angels and demons, can thus reform even if they get "killed". In this world I suppose that this system simply changes the way I work, since we are immortal from what the faceless white guy told me. But, I can safely say that I'm familiar with not being dead forever." Another break if Dawnika had any questions, then she went on. "We in Hell have exactly five hundred individuals which are immensely strong - the Five Hundred, or the Archdemons as they're inofficially referred to as. They are the strongest five hundred demons in existence, though there's a lot of fluctuation especially at the lower ranks because you can challenge any of the five hundred for their spot. The strongest of them is the Dark Lord, some of us call him the King of Demons. That's why you mentioning that you are a Demon Princess startled me a bit." She brushed her hands against her trousers to clean the dust off. "I've gone on for quite a bit, hope you don't mind... but if you got any questions left, feel free to ask." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-29-2015 Dawnika came out of the building still lost in her thoughts. As she stepped out, she didn't notice Alexyana until she tried to say something. Sitting down next to Alexyana she watched as she drew a circle and other shapes. Closely observing the cirlcle, Dawnika listened to Alexyana's little speech about human religion. Most of it had confused Dawnika, she moved her finger over the circle thinking about what she had said and tried to understand it all. "I don't know this word, religion. Akame worship a goddess named Nyx. When we die our bodies dissipate into blackness and return to The Shadows, like this heaven you explained, but Nyx loves all of us, so she will send us back to our world. Yet this can take 100s of years." "So you are from here?" Dawnika pointed to the part that the dragoness had explained was "hell" "And, this place is full of demons, like my people? They are warrior for trade I assume. Also, these demons were once human, but they became demons because they were bad people in their first life? Alexyana had her attention, but she could seem to understand what she was saying at all. "The humans have weird...uh, religion? They don't come back to Earth after they die? What exactly is their paradise? Why doesn't everyone get into the paradise? Doesn't their god even love them? I knew humans had odd customs but this is extremely ungraspable." Her eyes were locked on the circle, lost in the thought of religion. Alexyana had truely confused Dawnika. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-30-2015 The dragoness couldn't help but to chuckle at the numerous questions. But, that's a good thing. Only dumb people don't ever ask questions after all. She waved her hand around in the air erratically. "Religion is... well, it's when someone worships something or somebody that they believe to be a greater power - typically, a deity. In the case of the Akame from your homeworld, their goddess is this Nyx you speak of. The problem is, well... especially if there is no proof of that deity existing, like them appearing to people or such, some people refuse to follow that religion. Maybe you have individuals at your homeworld which say that Nyx isn't real? Or even who believe in a different deity? I don't mean to anger you, but tht's at least how it happened where I come from. There's dozens, if not hundreds of different practiced religions with varying numbers of people practicing them. Their views matter a lot, some say that everyone goes to paradise, others that you're just... gone, when you die, others say that when you die you are reborn in a new body... all sorts of things." She looked down at Dawnika's pointed finger and nodded. "Yup. I was born and raised in Hell, for the most part. It's full of demons of varying strengths, and while they tend to be warriors or at least have some sort of combat-related abilities anywhere from a strong bodybuild to magic powers, not everyone is - only like 99 out of 100. It's a little complicated but at the moment yes, everyone who was evil came to Hell - not just humans, but most sentient beings such as elves, mermen, the Nurns and even dragons. Although my sire was an artificially created demon, from what I gathered - it's not something we talk about much." She cleared her throat and moved to the next point. It was clear she wanted to avoid elaborating. She then pointed at the line connecting Earth, Heaven and Hell on her diagram. "While angels and demons can come back to Earth after they die - and really, I've spent several years on Earth - you don't come back as a human once you're dead. Only those who "earned" it get to go to Paradise, which is... well, a land of joy and happiness. Because everyone who goes there is a good person, they naturally collaborate and help each other, as a result Heaven is a place where everything is plentiful and you don't need to do bad things because everything is given to you anyway. But about the gods... imagine that when you die your soul goes down a huge river, along with all the other souls. Somewhere along that river there's a fisherman who will seek out and fish for the souls who are good... the souls that he gets are those who are good, and get to go to Heaven. Further down that river then comes another fisherman who has a huge net spanned across the river... and he will catch all the souls that the other fisherman didn't get, those are the ones that go to Hell." She looked up, giving a sad smile. "It seems like it's not a matter of love, unfortunately. Paradise would not be paradise if everyone got to go there. It's kind of like separating the good apples from the spoiled apples. If you let all the apples go together the spoiled ones will make the whole basket disgusting." Her smile returned to being honest. "Although, Hell isn't all THAT bad if you just know what to do. There's some amount of order, it's not like... a free-for-all war. Weak and strong demons for instance are separated so that the weak don't get bullied around and have some relative freedom to grow stronger, until they can move to the next level. And there's areas where combat is forbidden, like the marketplaces or the succubus brothels, to uphold order to some extent. I'd let you peek into my memories if I had any spells allowing for that to show you what it's like." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-30-2015 Dawnika looked...for a lack of a better word, disgusted. "You're telling me, this exactly unless I'm wrong, that people worship a diety they have NEVER conviened with in anyway so they can believe that thier souls will go to this paradise that they may not even know exists?" Alexyana nodded at her and Dawn just stared like nothing in the human world even made sense to her any more. "In Xenithia, Nyx will return from The Shadows every one hundred years. I have yet to meet her in person, but my father has. He always said that she was one of the greatest being he'd ever seen. He never described her to me though, he always had told me my time would come when I got to meet her. I always begged him to at least give me a hint to her appearence but i see now that he thought it would be better that I witness it for myself. Looks like now, however, I wont get to meet her at all." On the subject of age and time, Alexyana begins to wonder how old Dawnika was. There's no way she could be any older than 20 years old. She also begins to wonder if Dawnika, has even been trained to use that sword she has or if she just has it for show. How well trained could a 20 year old girl be with a sword? Dawnika pushed her thoughts of humans away from her mind for now, it didnt matter at this point in time. She stood up and looked down on Alexyana. "Shall we go do some training then?" Her arm hesitantly reached out to Alexyana to help her up. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-30-2015 "Unfortunately, yes. Perhaps in your world people are more strongly-minded, but... where I come from, especially humans have the need to believe in some higher power, even if they can't prove it exists. They believe because they WANT to believe. So that they can explain things that they can't explain otherwise, that they consider miracles." She shrugged. "It's... well, I can't explain it any better way." When Dawnika spoke about Nyx once again Alexyana once again went quiet and listened with great interest. So she shows herself every so often. And Dawnika mentioned that souls are reincarnated which can take up to a hundred years... maybe that means that Nyx's appearance and the reincarnation are two parts of the same event? She reached for Dawnika's hand and comfortingly squeezed it with her own, though careful to not squish it. "There may be a way out of here, if you look hard enough. If there's a way in there's gotta be a way out as well." She withdrew her hand moments from when Dawnika reached out again to take it, and smiled as she took it in return although rather than letting herself be pulled to her feet, she used her tail that she had been sitting on to push herself upwards instead. "Yes. Let's get going, otherwise we'll miss the tournament starts." She hmmed a moment, thinking. "Shall we say typical spar rules? No killing, dismembering and the like, ten seconds on the ground count as a knockout? Oh, and what about your sword and my claws? I'd be happy to allow both, but if you want to keep yourself fit for the tournament we can just use fists and the blunt side of your blade, or such." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 09-30-2015 "From what I heard, the tournament is a week away. We can inflict a few wounds and summon some healing supplies after our battle. I will not go for stabs, only slashes. As for you, I don't mind taking a few injuries. I am tougher than I appear, just try not to make gashes too deep in my skin." Dawnika mounted Konlal and readied to take off. "We should take this else where, lest we want others spying on our moves or allowing a pedestrian to be hurt. Let us go outside of town and find a clearing to have our spar." Dawnika tapped Konlal's back twice signaling him to move and she led the outoutside of town into a field of grass. "This should suffice as a good battlebattleground. By long tradition in Akame culture the elder is granted the first move. Therefore which ever one of us is older will get to try the first strike, if you are fine by those rules. I have lived 57 Akame winters. What is your age, dragoness?" |
