Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 09-20-2015 Continuing [Acculturations] plot of Kalli assaulting a group of gangsters... The road and the inhabitants of Tier 4 were well watched by those whom controlled them. Have that be stormtroopers, gangsters, or some other lesser known force, there was little room to doubt the organizations in play. Sickly individuals were walk about begging for medication or food, those dressed well for Tier 4 seemed inclined on leaving the crowds of strangers and the ones like Kalli, unknowing and exploring, were rare to be seen at ground level. It seemed like those who did not know their place, would find it soon, or face the consequences of being in an unwelcoming society. No matter the tempeture of the place, the atmosphere seemed cold, grey, the people in preparation for the worst. Still with unattended wounds, Kalli's head would turn left and right, facing the buildings and scanning the words that appeared on signs, above windows, or in front of doorways. Walking along as cars speeded overhead, no sign seemed to have any indication to mend to her wounds. And even then, what would be the costs? Certainly the omnilium would somehow make payment, certainly all she had to do is focus for some time, but with how the gangsters seemed to react being a prime may not be good to reveal publicly. But the alien couldn't care much for that thought, she felt like she was about to collapse if not tended to quickly, and so if money or by gunpoint, she would recieve help. Unknown to her on the catwalks high above, a single hooded individual carefully slid their fingers under a gun, a hum from the energized clip hissing into their ears. The shadowed face darkened as the hood covered the light from varying vehicles and signs, all the while two stormtroopers were dragged away from helping hands in the same uniform. The individual slowly leaned their head right, looking through the scope and following the alien figure's walk, the singular dot in the sight gleaming straight on the back of her head. As whispers followed into mics, communication passing through hidden channels, their finger tucked itself within the trigger guard. A singular word is all it took for chaos to erupt. The familiar burning would come back to Kalli as her feathers were flake and fall, the rest burnt down to the flesh as a red hot beam flashed, dark burns fell deep into her skin, the crowd pushing and pulling, running and limping, the numbers of those in the street never seemed to decrease however, no matter how many would rush inside buildings or run around corners. "Target is still up, engaging." More laser rounds erupted as the henchmen fired into the crowds, striking down strangers around their alien target whom clutched at her neck. Muttering curses as jackets flailed and people grabbed each other to run out of the way of these sudden laser rounds, Kalli would rush into the crowds, the beams of light burning through the civilians, black, burnt holes following with every trigger pull. Staggering over a corpse, Kalli lifted her head, looking back at the muzzle flashes that appeared at the balconies and catwalks. Another shot burned through the air, landing right behind her as another body fell with a thud. "Again?" is the only word that she could think to herself, recognizing the uniforms of the individuals from those in the bar that she had assaulted. With all her strength, she lifted up the rifle and quickly began to pull the trigger, the gangsters quickly crouching and going to ground, attempting to avoid the sudden bullets flying at them in response. Another red beam would flash past her, a singular individual holding a rifle with a long barrel and a gleaming scope kept moving through the shadows, calmly reacting to the sudden chaos. Behind him was a bald man, motioning down the street toward her. Looking down and at the direction the bald individual had been waving to, figures could be seen shoving civilians to the ground and raising their pistols, firing toward Kalli as she stood to observe. With both laser rounds and bullets raining down onto the street, Kalli quickly organized her thoughts and began to move back through the crowd once more, carrying her rifle and firing back at the gangsters that continued to gain ground. "Prime is moving, track her down!" A singular voice yelled over the panic and gunshots, hoarse and old. "Instigating violence is against the law, drop your weapons or be put to judgement." Stormtrooper armor clacked and clattered, their weapons pointed to the catwalks while a singular light flickered on, the dropship falling from the skies before landing in a hover in front of the catwalk. The gangsters above soon began their retreat, soldiers leaping from the dropship would soon add to the noises of the catwalk and balconies, chasing after them. The gunfire had died down in almost an instant, the gangsters that were not being accused of violence blending into the crowds and moving along with their orders unhindered. Kalli however would find herself further slowed by the sudden brining about of APCs and stormtroopers as they began to attempt to halt the panic, blocking off streets and demanding citizens to remain calm. Where there was those beating down and arresting, ten more stormtroopers were asking for IDs and escorting people out of the zone. Now there were two troubles for her to avoid, and both easily leading to consquences Kalli would not dare to imagine. Slipping into a crowd pushing their way into a overcrowded apartment lobby, she quickly moved out of the havoc that flooded the streets, moving into a corner while waiting for the chaos to die down. And praying that neither the stormtroopers nor gangsters would suddenly kick down the front door. Re: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 11-16-2015 "Escape"
"I can't believe they just started opening fire like that..." "Don't worry, we're safe in here." "Has anyone seen a boy about yay-high?" "Who are they? Haven't seen them before." "Maybe the troops will leave soon..." The apartment's lobby was rife with talk as people searched for each other in panic and fear. Others huddled up in the corners while large swaths of strangers would storm in, the sound of stormtroopers marching would bounce through the lobby as down the hall, the white plating could be seen, helmets and weapons in rotation, constantly aware and in search of those who started the short lived firefight. So many long trenchcoats and ruggedly clothed individuals, coated in dirt and dust while barely equipped for the roughness of those outside, all of them in one giant crowd as if the lobby was a cage. Like a wave they shifted back and forth, people moving in and out, others asking questions, some wiping blood off of themselves and others. Kalli kept pushing through them with little thought, focused on escaping this entire situation just so survival was in her grasp again. And not getting arrested. "What next?" The two words brought an important point, she hadn't planned anything beyond travelling and finding this gang, but exposing herself so blatantly? It was impossible to even get the jump on them. She needed a plan first, or else a lot more situations with a laser sight on her head would occur, and less fortunate than this one... "Everyone, freeze and prepare for identification!" A squad of stormtroopers walked through the hall that was the entrance to the lobby. A few gasps, a scream, some younger people rushing toward the windows before being knocked down by the butts of rifles. Kalli shifted through the crowd, nearly crouching until she reached the end, moving upstairs with swift steps until reaching the next floor. People- though less than the lobby -were still huddled in large groups, its as if the population of this place had no end. Carefully moving through as people stared with a glare or two, she kept moving upward in hope of finding an exit to this place, that or a nice place to hide. But it never came, instead, as the population lessened, more and more doors were shown to be blocked, cut off or otherwise locked. While old wooden floorboards creaked and the sound of panic filled the floors below- clearly a sign of the stormtroopers continuing their search -it came for an escape to be through a place rather exposed. The windows. It was either hanging outside a window, or a cell and interrogation,. the former seemed much better to Kalli as the stairs kept creaking, the padding of stormtroopers clattering as they approached. Opening the window, Kalli looked downward, the grey of the alleyway exposing nothing but the emptiness of a concrete floor, while across from the window was a brick apartment. To the right, up and down the wall was a pipe, leftward? Nothing but more apartment windows and the street. There was little choice in the matter, hopefully that pipe hadn't gotten rusty over the years. Gripping the edge of the window, Kalli slowly slid out, dangling from the window ridiculously, she planted her claws on the brick surface before leaping toward the pipe, gripping it tightly while it bended and groaned, the metal surface peeling as her claws penetrated the old shell that it was, hot, green water spilling out filled to the brim with content Kalli dared not guess while she climbed upward. The engines of dropships and the the outlines of flying cars would get closer, the humming of the dropships nearly making everything else seem silent in comparison. "This is a police state filled to the brim with...Things I can't even comprehend." Kalli thought to herself while climbing. "So much violence and fear. I can't even see this building's roof, even if it has one- how long as this place existed? How long did it take to construct such massive structures?... She hanged off the side of the pipe, looking over to here right, staring at a flashing neon sign that went down the side of the apartment. "Can't deny the beauty of this place though..." And just after that thought? The pipe broke. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 03-12-2016 Freefall, that was something that would come unexpected this day. Especially considering how much urbanity this place had- where could you fall? Off a wall you were climbing using a rusty pipe. Kalli would curse herself over and over again for having made such a movie, but there was no time for wallowing in hate of oneself. Before she could fill her lungs with another gust of air, she had slammed into the concrete surface. The alleyway reeked of garbage, and water drizzled down from the rooftops and broken pipes, the ground itself was wet as well- she had landed in a thin puddle of whatever the clear liquid was, water or not, it didn't help comfort her much from the fall. In only a matter of seconds the stormtroopers would become aware of this fall, the loud thud of Kalli's body echoing through the alleyway. If one was apart of the panic in the streets, it would seen inaudible, but the stormtroopers who had been standing by the alleyway were certainly close enough to hear the echo. Their radios buzzed with military communication, their local commanding officer allowing them to search the alleyway while remaining over the radio. Rolling her entire body with a grunt, Kalli hid herself behind a dumpster while laying her back against it, sitting down. Escape was needed, but more importantly, she needed information on the gang that was now hunting her, and their tactics didn't come just from brute force, they had snipers as well. Simply moving about this place was a problem, and it was only one of the numerous portals in that mysterious white room she had appeared in, that seemed so distant now, hours or even days away in her time. Was she even aging here? There were still questions to ask, but no answers- "Focus." She muttered to herself, taking grip of the wound on her arm as her nerves finally came alive, the burning sensation coursing through her. Escape, that was all she needed right now, escape. "Maybe it was a stray animal." Finally one of the two stormtroopers spoke as their armor clattered, walking through the dark alleyway. "Still worth checking out after the firefight out there. So keep your mouth shut." The other replied, their voices muffled by their helmets. With a sigh, the stormtrooper who spoke first didn't speak afterwards, merely walking forward while his comrade retained a combat posture, hunched over and keeping his gun focused on the end of the alleyway. After a few seconds of silence and quick searching, they were finally getting close to where Kalli hid, not like it was far deep in the alleyway anyways. As one of them was creeping closer, the other spoke out again. "Who were those guys? The ones who were shooting." He asked, relaxed as ever and firmly believing that nothing was here aside from them. "Some random gang for all I know, someone probably evaded paying them their due or something, you know how bad life is down here. Now-" As the stormtrooper moved closely toward the dumpster, a loud siren blarred behind them while civilians were seen running down the street. "Identification escapees! Come on!" A stormtrooper yelled further down the alleyway, before running in pursuit of the escaping civilians. The two in the alleyway quickly joined in, rushing out into the open street and disappearing from Kalli's site. She sighed in relief- now all she had to do is wait until later today, where the soldiers would finally be done trying to find any criminals among the populace. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 04-02-2016 ***
The door's made a loud 'cling' as they were opened, the club-like bar looking as new as possible due to all the repairs made after the firefight from the last time Kalli was here. It was hard to tell if they cleaned up the blood stains- the floor still had the scent of varying liquids, primarily drinks. A few heads turned to look as she entered, all of them having been here from the last time, some grunted, others barely gave a care, and then there were those who nodded in respect before going back to their daily bar visit. People of all sorts, human or otherwise, seemed to be rather calm and quiet, the entire bar echoing with the sounds of a news report from the TVs hanging above. At first, Kalli thought she was in a completely different place, her mind blank from confusion, but then she came to recognize the staff, the same large man who was in charge, as well as a few waiters and waitresses, music humming as they went about to place to each booth and table. Kalli silently walked past as she headed towards the bar counter, the big man- as well as a smaller, more snide looking bartender -stood behind, the big man himself recognized Kalli, slowly looking down at her as he cleaned another glass. "You're not dead yet?" Was all he asked, sounding both confused and curious. "Not yet." she replied, putting both talon'd hands on the table.
"No, but if I am going to die, its soon- mainly because of what happened last time. I never got to ask: You know where those assholes live?" She looked up, smiling with a hint of sinister intent. And the just as the man was about to answer, the smaller bartender spat "Death wish on you then. You don't have to kill them for us, just head back the way you came Prime." He put heavy emphasis on 'Prime'- making it sound like a mockery, an insult. Just as Kalli was about to reply back in a similar manner, the big man stuck his hand out, blocking her view to the bartender. "We know that they have a tendency of meeting up at the outskirts of the water purification facility, but this is general knowledge. I wouldn't expect to find anything there other then the same men you fought back a day ago." The big man pointed to the window, a glimmer of light bounced off a massive facility over the slums in which she initially landed in. "That massive structure you see there, that is the purification center. The Emperor's men are stationed there as well, though how they have not bothered to disrupt the gangs is beyond me." He lowered his hand again, taking the cloth that hanged out of the glass cup in his left hand and proceeding to wipe away smudge marks. "Good luck to ya'." He stated, the other man shaking his head as Kalli turned to leave.
"Hey prime." A random individual stated, turning to look behind where he sat. "Why are you so involved in with us lowlifes, you ain't got much to gain outta this other than a swift return to where you once came." Kalli turned her head to the left, one eye peering back at the questioning man "Because I'd like to make a name for myself and do some good around here." She stated, turning to look at the door again and walking out. And in the silence of the morning, the man muttered "Damn primes."

Time continued to pass, the sun in full force as it exposed the bustling slum-like living over the rather unkempt and poorly managed area of Tier 4's city. It was a active place, in both legality and criminal goods, but it felt lacking in stormtrooper patrols, except right near the Water Purifier, in where dropships hovered in and out as stormtroopers walked around it's massive wall, it was a intriguing piece of architecture, especially how it stood dominant over the shorter houses and cobbled together shacks that Kalli moved past. It was odd, a gang that openly commits crime- or, at least, what is crime in this 'verse' -freely gathers just around the Water Purifier. May that be corruption, cooperation or otherwise, she saw it as another problem, perhaps one that could be easily fixed with some applied force. Moving through the bustling slums on her way towards water purification, the streets began to enter a panic, gunfire booming over the clatter of shoes and the voices of scared civilians. Instantly, Kalli rolled into cover, two bullets having shot right past her and hit a stranger in the chest, causing the now-dead man to fall over and blood to pour into the street. Leaning out around the corner, two more flashes occurred- causing the corner to spark with ricocheting bullets.
RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 04-24-2016 The bullets didn't stop, the gunfire hailing down onto Kalli like how rain poured from clouds, the gangsters being intelligent- every time one reloaded, another walked up to shoot. This lasted around a minute, everyone too afraid to move up. Reaching down for the device on her waist, Kalli gripped the "Dome Shield", she had rarely used it and this seemed like a good opportunity to block some bullets. She tossed it out from the corner, bullets flying past, the device landed with a loud 'thud' onto the ground with a puff of dust emitting around it. In an instant, the blue shield was constructed as if it came out of thin air, Kalli rolled into the shield, bullets bouncing off of it for a moment. Eventually, they all stopped shooting, keeping their aim on the shield. The see through shield made her feel vulnerable, they were all waiting, one on a balcony, two more down the street, another in a window at the end of the street and varying others hiding away behind cover. Taking grip of her assault rifle, she watched as they would shuffle about, uncomfortable with the silence. She was just as uncomfortable, watching down the barrels as the rifles were aimed at her. Watching to her right, there was another alleyway, this one with a broken and hole-filled wall, easy places to get a firm grip on and climb up. With an idea of how to escape (though not confident in the outcome of it) she watched back at the gangsters again, all whom were still in their positions. Raising her rifle, she took two steps back toward the shield device, watching them all as the one on the balcony adjusted his aim. Just like how instantaneous it appeared, the shield disappeared- Kalli placing her talon on the device's button. Two loud cracks echoed through the air, her rifle's bullets penetrating the head of the gangster on the rooftop, red exploding onto the doorway. While the rest opened fire, Kalli rolled to the right, quickly slinging her rifle over her shoulder and climbing up the alleyway way. Yelling boomed from around the corner where the gangsters were, soon enough they were chasing after her in anger. Taking a leap to the left, she began to climb upward via a pipe, coming to a adequately sized hole for her body. Going in head first, she moved into the building, gunshots following from outside as they saw her disappear from sight. The building's interior was dusty, mold corroding corners and doors nonexistent, she covered her mouth once she was on her feet, coughing and moving through the place. An explosion outside caused a shutter, which she assumed was those who were trying to kill her. Moving about the grey, abandoned rooms which varied in size, Kalli walked towards a window, no longer coughing now as fresh, cold air blew into her face. There was activity about the streets, vehicles moving about with people in tow, she recognized the uniforms of these individuals- they were the same harassers she had shot during her first day here. As first her chest clenched, filled with anger at the thought of them escaping, but then she realized a more horrifying truth, that entire army was coming straight at her. A loud explosion was heard again, this time much closer to Kalli's position. She moved through the rooms carefully, assault rifle raised as she neared the creaking hallway, made out of wood and not the concrete of the rooms. An individual moved past the doorway, Kalli fired as soon as he turned to look, gun falling onto the floor as his body fell through the doorway across from the rooms'. The rest of the gangsters could be heard in the hall backing up, she slid in front of them with both talons placed on the across doorway's edges to stop her from sliding straight into the corpse. She raised her rifle, aiming it down the hall and pulled the trigger with ease. Five of them had been packed into the hall, and each fell with as their torsos and heads were penetrated with three bullets each. Eventually, her gun fell silent as smoke trailed from the barrel, a new clip slammed into the gun as the old clip bounced off of the wooden floor. Getting up, the prime didn't bother to stare at the work done, instead, she began to move down the steps at the sound of those same trucks halting outside. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 05-05-2016 There was no pause, Kalli moved through the lower level of the building, once more passing by a tight hallway of dull scenery. Such walls that would bore even the most creative minds, pure grey mixed with a wooden floorboard. However, the boring scenery was the least to be criticized- for the floors creaked loudly, exposing the movement below (and for the gangsters- above). "We know you're up there!" The leader, the young yet confident man. "We'll just shoot you in the head, no point in fighting, not like its worth anything to primes like yourself!" He would yell again, the floorboards below creaking louder as more and more rushed upwards. Slowing in her pace, Kalli's equipment stopped clattering, as well as her footsteps becoming delicate. She waited in the middle of the hall, the staircase to her right which was protected by a railing. She aimed at the staircase silently, pointing down at the railing and between the bars which held it up. Suspense was put off, suppressed in her mind, aim easing and ears open, eyes active, she waited for the slightest sign of one of the numerous hostiles that were after her. There was a lot of regret that affected her however, leaving was a solid oppertunity, one where she could've just done at any time. But instead this criminal activity became her problem, hopefully this would easily be solved in a matter of a few bullets. Preferably, those bullets wouldn't be anywhere close to her. The cloth of the hood came into view, soon stained with red as the man tumbled back down the steps and at the bottom, to which the many other gangsters took as a sign to open fire upward. As bullets pierced through wood and bounced off stone, Kalli silently backed away. However, their trigger fingers would not halt, with a few orders shouted over the gunfire, bullets soon began the pierce the floor she stood on. Rushing backward, Kalli quickly began to move back up the steps, in which she could hear her enemies soon follow. Once she had reached the next hallway above, the light from a doorless room shined through- quietly moving over, she entered, staring outside back down onto the streets below. The amount of people outside was hard to believe, whole packs of individuals standing around their vehicles, armed. Looking straight upward at where the gunshots echoed. They were rather calm unlike those she was currently retreating from. "What are they waiting for?" She got caught up in pondering, the voice and footsteps of her pursuer breaking her thought process. Moving back toward the doorway- and not daring to look around the corner -she pointed her gun around the corner, pulling the trigger and releasing as many bullets as she could from the semi-automatic rifle. There was little noise once she stopped, no thudding, no footsteps, just the whistle of the wind from the window. The silence was followed by loud laughter and taunting. Her curiosity why was easily answered, none of them had even arrived on her level, instead there were just bullet holes at the end of the hall. If she had teeth, she would be gritting them as insults poured from the level below. "Alright assholes." Kalli muttered, taking the gun's magazine and checking the bullets "Lets see you actually get up here." slamming the magazine back into the gun, she looked upward- a grenade bounced right off the wall and rolled towards her. If anger hadn't clouded her self preservation, she would've hid back into the room. But, instead, she took the grenade as she ran down the hall, threw it down the staircase and fire down at the group of criminals twice before the grenade went off. Following the explosion, she charged downward, the blood coating the walls and floor- the few who had acknowledged the grenade and taken cover via diving away were shot in a instant. More blood and screams came from the hallway as she walked on through, a emotionless experience where her mind would only acknowledge those whom were a threat and those who were dead. Dust rained down from the ceiling and crept off from the walls, the grenade having shook much of the room, leaving a some coughing for those still alive. Pulling the trigger on another injured man, she looked over towards the last one alive in the hall, whom was crawling away in a panic, but the wounds pulling him down. Grabbing him and pulling him up by one arm, she forced the man against the wall. "I'm not saying anything, bitch." He said, barely keeping consciousness as he spat blood at her. Kalli then grabbed him by the throat with both talons, dragging him along as blood trailed down the steps, his own legs doing little work as she continued to drag him along. The stairs kept going downward, before getting into a apartment lobby-like area. Dragging the man toward the door, she threw him outside, watching as the more well armed and experienced gangsters stared in silence. She could properly see their equipment now, military vests, unkempt with disorganized uniforms like her previous foes, but they covered their faces with riot helmets. Clearly, they had talent with stealing or deep connections. "I'm tired of killing your lackeys, dealing with your attack dogs and getting shot in the back. How about you actually fight me instead of hiding behind walls that you very well know will die!" She stared at them, expecting for that same, confident leader to come forth. And he did, yet barely recognizable behind all the kevlar. "You want a fight? Alrighty then-" a light machine gun was handed to him from the crowd. "Fire at will!" He yelled out, in which Kalli quickly rolled back into cover behind a wall. "Not this song and dance again." Was her thought as she pulled out her rifle again, once again ready to fight. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Moon - 05-08-2016 Long ears peeked around the corner of a doorway nearby, twitching wildly around as sounds of strife erupted from the next room over. Being a (former) police officer, she knew what was going on. Gang fight. Not a fun time for anyone. She'd have to go in there, no avoiding it. Someone had to stop it. But as she listened, one of the gang members mentioned a Prime. That's... that's what she was, right? So obviously, someone there was one of her own. Which, really, could mean anything. Some of those primes were murderers, as shown by the battle in the white expanse she started in. Then what was she? Some kind of saint? She didn't have time to have an existential crisis right now, fluff it all. There were people to help! Judy slowly approached the entrance to the door separating the gunshots from her skull. She could tell, that there were a few gunshots coming from the far side of the room, but what irked her was the lack of gunshots from the side closest to her. There was only one source. Only one person on this side.'Oh, cheese and crackers,' thought the rabbit, as she smacked her face with her paw.. Bust through the door, take immediate cover, and talk to the person manning the one-mammal-army. Counting herself down from ten to zero, she mentally prepared herself for the near-death experience she was about to go through. Many gunshots. Here we go. Speed gods, shine down. A deep breath, and she jumped full speed into the door, knocking it off its hinges. Time to move. She immediately rolled to the left, ducking behind a metal box. Right to her left, was a mammal she'd never heard of, or seen before. Maybe an alien? Well, whatever it was, it likely was the prime. "Need some help?" asked Judy, as she loaded her pistol. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 05-13-2016 Whistling of bullets and the adrenaline of combat, such a oddly familiar atmosphere. But then there was a voice that had all the hints of innocence and adorableness- to Kalli, that is -it was surreal. A mix of unforgiving action that was unrelenting in force and number, all broken by the fact there was this adorable, small bunny. Kalli would mimic the behavior of raising an eyebrow, expressing confusion before shaking it off her face. If someone was willing to help, why would she ask? "Uh yeah, help, lets go with that." Two more rounds clipped the left side of the door, concrete chipping off with Kalli flinching before releasing a short volley as return fire. Flashing, the guns muzzle would flash three times, each time a bullet shooting outward, flying into the wall of enemies outside. It seemed to do little in halting the wall of gunfire however, even if she had hit one foe. Once again, Kalli would reload, tossing the clip on the ground while talking to Judy. "If that gun is loaded-" She eyed the pistol in Judy's paws "-I suggest aiming at the guy with the biggest gun! He goes down, I'd call this entire operation a victory." At those words, the machine gun would get louder, the leader hauling it through toward the doorway of the apartment's lobby with a steady pace. His footsteps booming with the thud of all the shells wrapped around his Kevlar vest. Military boots and armored vest amplifying his incredibly well-armed nature. The other well equipped comrades of his would approach with a steady and slow pace as well, firing as they approached with ease. Their mix-matched uniforms unlike that of their leader, their limbs exposed and heads with only their mere helmets protecting the cranium. The sun would caste their shadows across the concrete ground and up the walls of the apartment, a puff every time they would plant their feet on the abandoned apartment grounds as every inch was gained getting close. However, their full blown firepower and overwhelming numbers (as well as guns) wouldn't matter much once shot, no cover surrounded them as they moved, and they would have to run a fair distance to even get to cover, or out of sight! Kalli would roll one shoulder before suddenly popping out of cover again, gun suddenly going from being aimed upward in safety to being pointed straight at one of the fiends for lethality, releasing bullets as quickly as her energy-filled talons could pull the trigger, dirt and grim covering her from head to toe, wounds of dried blood and a bandage wrapped around her left calve. The alien bird woman was on her last digitgrade legs at this point and Judy's arrival would not only promise a higher chance of victory, but for Kalli to actually survive this encounter, though she certainly wasn't done gaining wounds and losing a few more feathers. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Moon - 05-31-2016 "Right," she replied, holstering her gun with a determined look on her face. This was it. Live or die again. Oh, how familiar that was. Her former work as an officer of the law would certainly help, even if this was technically vigilante justice. Illegal, of course. But it was right, and she could ask questions later. But what if she was wrong? She couldn't help but examine that angle. It didn't matter, though. She couldn't ask questions now. Now was the time to focus, and attack. A deep breath, and she poised herself to do what she did best. Jump. And she did. Oh, she did. She hit the ceiling, even. Who knew she could do that? Bouncing off that, she landed behind them, and rolled out of the way of death itself before aiming to take a shot. The guy with the biggest gun luckily had the least armor on him. She could get a clean shot. She just had to aim for the head. Time seemed to stop as she raised her pistol, aiming to hit the man in the head. A clean casualty. She'd think about the moral repercussions later. With a breath, she pulled the trigger. A few seconds passed, and the man fell over, bleeding on the ground. She'd done it. He was dead. However, that blew her cover, and the others began shooting at her. Nearly panicking, she rolled behind a large metal box. Probably the air conditioning. "GO!" she yelled. About five people were left, and the machine gun was out of the way. A success on her part, despite the shot through her ear that she just now noticed. Ow. Her watch vibrated, which concerned her a bit. That only happened when something important was going on. She checked that quickly. Something about a man named Karl Jak needing help. She'd check that out shortly. As for now, help out with the other mammal. She shot down another of the soldiers, and Kalli took the other four down. And that was it. Adrenaline was a powerful thing, she'd noticed. It made wounds numb, made it hard to die, and made it easy to kill. But when it wore off, that's when things got hard. She had yet to hit that, but she knew it was coming soon. For now, though, she peeked from over her cover. No more soldiers. She sighed in a combination of relief and surprise. "Hey. We did it," she muttered, primarily to herself, before rising from the air conditioner and stretching. The other mammal soon joined her, and Judy smiled at her. She was certainly impressed by her bravery in going it alone, and she really did want to continue. But something big was going on. She needed to be present for that, especially if someone already needed her on her third day in the Omniverse. This would have to be put on hold. But for now, she could celebrate. "That was awesome back there!" said Judy, wincing as her ears sprung up to keep tabs on this place, make sure nobody else was here. They couldn't get killed now. Not after all that. But hey, she'd cross that bridge when they arrived at it. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 05-31-2016 Letting out a breath of air, Kalli lowered her weapon down to her stomach, holding onto it while closing her eyes and looking up at the ceiling and breathing in the air again. Her intentions here were done, all she had to do is tell the barman that the gang had lost all the manpower and leadership it offered. She believed that, not wanting to stay here and deal with all the danger of being in some otherworldly place. She began to rub her forehead, weapon hanging from her right hand while she breathed out again, looking at the outside as it was slowly fading in sunlight. Hearing Judy speak, Kalli turned to look before having unequipped the rifle by placing it on her back. "Yeah. That was some excellent shooting there from you, reminds me of myself." Kalli then looked back at the bodies with the same tiredness in her voice before looking back at Judy "Thanks a lot for your help by the way. My names Kalli." Continuing on with talking, Kalli quickly- as quick as her tired body could carry her, anyway -walked toward the bodies. "Not to be rude but I need to get some evidence for a friend and get out of here quick." Without stopping, the anthropomorphic bird moved passed each corpse with a delicate placement of each talon, before bending over to take off the helmet of the now dead machine gun guy. Both repulsed and impressed by the shot made by the tiny being she just met. Putting the helmet to the side, Kalli stated "Yep, thats enough evidence." She said, nearly reeling back her head at all the blood. "The soldiers are going to be all over this place soon, probably best you get out of here too, they don't like it when their job is done for them." Kalli took the helmet and any form of identification she could find among the magazine pouches and pockets of the once alive gang leader. Shuffling through each pocket with more disgust following after the next, Kalli finally found a wallet. Opening it and searching through, there was still no identification to be found. Tossing the wallet away, she sighed, pulling out the her mobile dataverse device and pointing it at the body's face. The back of the eletronic device flashed, a photo of the dead gang leader. Still disgusted, Kalli put the device away into her pocket, then attached the bloodied helmet to her belt. "Never volunteer for vigilante work, my advice. Anyways, hope to see you around!" Kalli said toward Judy before moving out, away from the building. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Moon - 06-05-2016 "Judy Hopps, pleasure to meet you," she said, a little more professionally than really was necessary. She supposed that it was habit by now. It was so easy to forget that she wasn't a cop anymore. Oh well. That's how the cookie crumbled. Sometimes, you just can't change that. Even if you've worked your whole life for something. Kalli made her exit after a quick investigation, and that was it. The adrenaline started to wear off, and she finally noticed how godfluffing bad her ear hurt. Gritting her teeth, she quickly climbed the steps, taking them two at a time. Now was not a time to be wallowing in pain, she had places to be, people to see. Someone needed her. Time to be off, then. However, things maybe didn't work out very well. Stormtroopers burst in, quickly, and began looking around for people still around. Nothing too major, but some red footprints in the shape of large... rabbit paws? That was certainly odd, and possibly important. So that was written down for the record. No other evidence was found. "Well! That was an experience," muttered the rabbit as she walked on, toward the exit to Coruscant. Everything was slowing down now, and thinking about it, what had happened to her greenhorn self? She'd seemingly toughened up a lot from her first case to now, even to the point where she didn't really qualify what she just did as murder. Well, until a second ago. They... had that coming to them, right? They were gangsters? Shaking off her self doubt, she noticed the portal was in sight. Maybe she'd avoid Coruscant for a while, just to be sure that she'd be stable if she came back. Besides, there was a search party to make now. Those people weren't going to save herself. RE: Tier 4 Friction - Kalli - 06-05-2016 Salvation, the death of those criminals brought salvation. As night began to encroach upon the fourth tier (and without a doubt it would- for advertisements are much more easier to spot with the backdrop of a midnight sky) Kalli's pace slowed. She didn't feel in danger despite the reputation of this area. She was too exhausted to, it was all over now, her own adventure of garnering some form of respect from a local populace. Reflecting in silence, the prime came to wonder what exactly drove her through the gate to this realm other than curiosity. Moving past a street corner, she turned to walk to what resembled a bus stop, the concrete cracked with small strands of grass creeping up, but nonetheless still a place where many people came and went from. She stood under the roof of the stop, looking out into the darkened street still in search of an answer for herself. It never really came, at least not in a way she could comprehend, her feelings and emotions all too drained, body in a limp and wounds oozing with vulnerability and possible infection. Coughing, she went to sit down on the stop's bench, leaning forward and placing a talon over her calve. There was fear of death, a constant desire to live on and deliver the message of her victory, but it didn't show on her face. Instead, there was only her blank expression that she gave when focusing. Breathing slowly, she withdrew her talon and turned to the right, having both talons above the bench and summoned some bandages and disinfectant. The process felt slower then she remembered, three minutes of her muscles giving their last to stay upward while the omnilium would take shape of the items. The silence surrounding the bus stop as Kalli would then pick up the items she had summoned, going to work on fixing herself, alone. "Funny how this always happens," She muttered a curse in the midst of thinking, feeling the disinfectant pour into her wound "always alone by the end of the day." As the first of many wounds was fixed, she went to work on the other. The streets themselves still silent and empty like before, night having come overhead now. Once the last of the bandages was used up, she sighed with annoyance, steel feeling the last of her cuts burn. Dissolving the disinfectant afterwards, she then got up, moving slowly to the edge of the sidewalk while looking both ways, surprised at the lack of a public transport. "Alone? Guess I go alone." With another sigh, she began to limp her way through the slums, heading toward the city of lights on the horizon. ***
The club was active like the night of shooting, dancers, patrons and the same bartenders who poured the drinks and cleaned the glass mugs. It was even more popular than before, people eager to see another showdown and gunfight, standing out like a sore thumb as these were the same people who wore some form of protection, or belonged to another more lesser known gang. All the action that anyone ever got would be the drunken fights however, as Kalli opened the door to reveal the conclusion of her own quest.
"He's dead, they're dead."
The voice was different than the local aliens and humans, and by the equipment they could tell this was an outside. Of course, the barman and his comrades knew who she was, but others were baffled. Her legs dragged her, a splotch of blood dropping as she went through the door, a constant move forward as those moving about would make room for her to limp through. Sitting down, the establishment went as it normally did, except for the small group that surrounded Kalli in interest. She took out her device, placing it on the counter, talons flicking through the programs up until she got the picture of the dead gang leader. His helmet clanged against the counter soon after, which she both slid forward for the barman to look at.
Voices behind Kalli filled the establishment with whispers, who owned the helmet? Why was the prime so bloody? Was the local protection tax now lifted? The barman picked up the device and looked at the photo, raising a eyebrow and nodding in approval, he placed the device back down and simply stated "You did good prime, you did good." He then turned to look at the rest of the establishment's patrons and proceeded to state what gave everyone a surprised look "Free drinks for tonight only!" echoing to all ears, the counter was filled to the brim in a instant, people clashing and rushing over to get their free drink. In the chaos the barman looked to Kalli and asked what she could be given as reward, barely able to word anything, Kalli weakly stated "A way to Tier One, and a doctor would be nice as well." Before her body gave out, falling unconscious.
***Some Days Later***
The platform had risen from the undergrounds, coming to the top with two guards, civilians and adventurers as cargo. Kalli followed with all the other passengers, getting off once the gate opened to Tier 1. The sunlight- natural sunlight -felt great to have warmly pressing against her feathers. Walking along with the crowds that comfortably socialized and moved about, the products here seem addicting, the clothing exotic and the architecture tasteful, a whole year could be spent here and Kalli couldn't have explored even half the wonders that it offered. Adventuring and curiosity called however, a desire to understand more of what this world was and why she was called to it, a place notorious for it's endless expanse of sand and brutality- the "Endless Dunes" -was her next place to visit.
Endless Dunes, the words themselves sounded bizarre to her, so used to cities and constant snowstorms with sheets of ice covering any inch of water. Dunes of sand however? This could only be seen in books, in fiction, to actually touch sand amazed her. Despite the hostility that was supposedly inhabiting the Endless Dunes Kalli still had a strong desire to go, no matter how much knowledge was stored in these massive libraries, experience was her best mentor, one that she respected well.
"What was the small fur covered creature off to?" The question suddenly entered her mind. There was some guilt that followed, probably should've given credit to her at killing the head of that gang, but it was too late now. "Best not ask I guess, already had my fair share of trouble." She thought, before entering a cab that would take her to the gate that lead to the Endless Dunes.
