Alexyana - Undyne - 09-03-2015 Character name: Alexyana Character source: Original (from a novel I'm writing, as well as previous RPs). Character history:[spoiler]In a reality somewhere... else, there are two godly beings, known as the Fishermen, who fish the souls from the recently deceased out of the Deathriver, where all souls go when their body dies. One of these fishermen, known as the Light Lord, fishes using a fishing pole, and only catches those souls that in life were friendly, good people. People who deserve paradise. The other fisherman, the Dark Lord, uses a fishing net and catches all souls that the other one did not. These people have not earned the right to enter Paradise, and thus go to Hell. If a soul enters Paradise, or as it is better known, Heaven, they become angels - creatures of light and holy magic who improve upon their skill through training and may one day become archangels. On the other side of the spectrum, a soul who enters Hell becomes a demon, a dark and evil creature which feeds upon the souls of the living to become more powerful - which they typically do by luring mortals into contracts which trade worldly goods such as wealth or power for their soul. Angels and demons are natural enemies of one another: angels attempt to protect the living as a demon-consumed soul will never become an angel or demon itself, and they wish to keep the demons from becoming more powerful. While there is a constant hassle going on, neither side are truly winning or losing this, mostly because angels and demons are immortal and even their death "only" means that they will reform in Heaven or Hell, respectively, after a period of time. Alexyana, or as her full name is, Alexyana Nicola Umbranox of Cannaerborg, is the daughter of a succubus demoness and a dragon demon. A relationship like this is fairly rare, and demon-born children coming out of the relationship is even rarer, because demons tend to fight with each other to steal the other's souls or defend their own, which leaves little room for trust, true friendship and love. "Generation II" demons like her are thus not seen often, and it usually doesn't make a difference anyway seeing how they have the same powers, appearance and abilities that a "First-Generation" demon has. Her early age was marked by difficult situations, as a "born" demon will not start out as an adult but instead grows to a certain age before they stop getting older. As a result, when she attended demon school - a special service for young demons to learn about their powers, courtesy of the High Demons with the authority to do these things - she tended to stick out like a sore thumb due to looking young, and being pudgy like all adolescent dragons. Around puberty her body-fat turned to muscles, her childish figure became that of a woman, her scales hardened into natural armor and her latent demon abilities awakened. At around this time she escaped Hell, denying her demon heritage and trying to pass as a normal dragon as she adventured in the middle-age Earth. Gradually she got to peace with her heritage and settled things with her mother, however. Alexyana's life on Earth was greatly influenced by the Dragonhunts, a continent-spanning series of battles against dragonkind. Dragons had been accused, in a similar manner to witches, of being the source of all evil, of burning crops, abducting people, spreading plague and various other things that people wanted a scapegoat for. This had built up until dragons got systematically hunted down and exterminated. Alexyana did not die, as her demon immortality revived her if she was "killed", but these events have marked her until the present day. She ended up withdrawing and hiding from the world as she could not do anything against the sheer numbers of humans that overran her and her Brothers and Sisters (other dragons, not her actual family) and minimalized contact with her family to a hellish bracelet that allows her to speak to them despite being in different dimensions (Hell is considered a different dimension from Earth where humankind lived and lives). Interestingly enough it turned out to even be able to establish contact with them after she was summoned by Omni. This last bit might require approval. To clarify, this is intended to be purely a plot element with no effect on Alexyana's fighting capabilities or knowledge about the Omniverse and its inhabitants - but Alexyana would likely want to let her family know what happened, and that they're not to worry although they can't do a thing about it now. Finally the Dragonhunts came to an end some six years after Alexyana had first set foot on Earth (when they were still going on), because there were no dragons left to exterminate, they were either dead or had fled. Later, witchhunts happened for the exact same reasons, but that's a different story. Alexyana remained in hiding, instead leading the life of a hermit, honing her battleskills and learning about the world and herself. Three years after the last dragon had been slain - by then Alexyana was 23 years old, she had reached her definite age from where her demon body would not grow older - she was summoned by Omni, opening up a whole new chapter to her story with a fresh start.[/spoiler] Physical Description: [spoiler]Alexyana is 3/4 dragon and 1/4 demon despite her parents being pure-breed dragon and demon, respectively - this is because dragon genes are "dominant" and have greater influence on the child's race. As a result, she looks like a dragon and has demonic traits which are relatively minor. Standing at 3 meters tall (9.10 ft) she is almost twice the height of your average human - so yes, she's not going to fit through doorways without bending over. Her weight... well, you don't ask a lady that, but she got somewhat over 200kg, roughly speaking. Her mother's succubus heritage shows in her frame which, while not quite as optimized to seduce others, is rather curvaceous. Her muscles are extremely dense, meaning that even though she is very strong (physically), she does not look like the Hulk and instead is more beautiful. Head:Alexyana's head is shaped like that of an anthropomorphic dragon (as in, a dragon on two legs with roughly humanoid figure): bulky, a rounded snout, a strong jaw with two rows of pointy teeth and covered in very small dark blue scales which create a leathery look from a distance. The bottom of her maw has beige-grayish scales that also transition along her neck and to her torso. The clearest manifestation of her demon heritage lies in Alexyana's horns: they are curved and black like those of a goat, and grow out of her head. She has a small golden stud pierced through the base of her left horn, very near her scalp and hidden by her hair. Speaking of hair, Alexyana sports long, crow-black hair which she typically lets loose, although in preparation of a battle or when bathing she might tie it into a ponytail. She has three strands of red hair on her forehead which further hint at her demon heritage (they're not dyed). Why exactly she has them though, she doesn't know. The second clearest manifestation of her heritage are her eyes: black eyeballs with golden irises and a piercing gaze are all trademark signs of demons, at least in her homeworld. They often make her look more menacing than she intends to be, though. At the side of her neck is where the cyan lines that cover parts of her body have their upper end - they disappear at around ear-height. Occasionally Alexyana dons a straw hat in the fashion of an asiatic rice farmer, though it's insufficient to conceal her horns - especially since most people are shorter than her and thus look beneath the hat by looking up at her. Torso: Alexyana's torso is pretty much humanoid as a baseline: no wings, no odd limbs, nothing a human wouldn't have, outside of course of her tail. She typically covers herself up with light leather clothes, or cloth which is reinforced with soft leather pads on the inside. Why's that? Because her scales, which are much larger and have sharp edges, have the effect of a rasp on everything that gets stuck between them, and clothing kind of moves on your body when you move around - so many things get shredded after being worn for a while, unless, like said, they're reinforced. She prefers brown and black colors. The scales on her back are bigger (around thumb-nail-sized), thicker and harder than those on her sides and are colored dark blue, whereas her belly is covered by scales as thin as those on her face but colored beige-gray-ish, which means that touching her front-side feels like touching leathery skin. She has two cyan lines running along her sides, forming a circle around her armpit and shoulder at the base of her arms, then going along her neck. Author's note: Alexyana doesn't have breasts connecting to her shoulders <.< That was just the artist derping out when drawing her. You probably can't unsee it now, though. Limbs & Tail: Her arms and legs are pretty much human, save for that her fingers and toes are tipped with claws instead of finger-/toenails. To cover herself she tends to wear short trousers, again with leather protection on the inside, and sometimes secures them with a belt. The cyan lines go along the sides of her legs and the topside of her arms, forming a circle on the back of her hands and feet respectively. Her tail, finally, constitutes another asset which her dragon-genes are predominant in: it's muscular and tends to move constantly in a similar fashion to a cat's, though it is as prehensile as any other limb. It helps Alexyana to keep her balance and may even be used to attack, or wrap it around someone. It's the only limb that has two cyan lines on its surface, one on the left and right, which join at the tip. Cyan lines? If you've read attentively you might be wondering what these are. Alexyana refers to them as her Energy Grid, which is the blood-vein equivalent of her innate magic powers. If she does something that involves magic, the lines glow brighter as a visual indication to where the magic energy is moving from and to - for instance, breathing fire will cause the lines on her neck to glow. Foes with this knowledge can anticipate and telegraph Alexyana's attacks more easily - but so can allies who know about this.[/spoiler] Stats: ATK: 5 DEF: 4 SPD: 0 TEC: 1 Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength (1.000), Area Attack Proficiency (600) Starting Powers: Enhanced Senses (Basic)(1.400) Alexyana's dragon senses are sharper than average: her senses of hearing and especially smell are strongly developed. Most notably, she can smell out people in her direct vicinity - it's very hard to sneak up on her from behind. Although air currents, objects and such hinder her ability at longer ranges, she will likely take note even of invisible foes. Beyond some 20ft her sense of smell is too hindered by the environment to be of actual use. Starting Moves: Total: 900. Dragon Claws (Physical strength) (300) Instead of fighting with heel-kicks or punches, Alexyana can also use the claws on her hands and feet as a means to cause damage. Their length varies between 7.5cm/3 inches (middle claw) and 5cm (pinky claw), this applies to both her finger- and toeclaws. They are hard enough to goe toe-to-toe with a regular steel weapon and can cut through soft materials - a good iron armor will only get dents or scrapes though, and harder materials might resist the claws entirely. Heavy Slam (Physical Strength) (300) Alexyana uses her tail in combat as a semi-surprise move. She turns sideways to her foe if she isn't already standing that way, then brings her tail around in a wide horizontal sweep. Her tail is ca. 1,5m long (5ish ft) long, although the arc is slightly shorter since the tail is bent during the attack and not its full length can be used as a result. Even so it allows for a single powerful slam as her tail weighs ~40kg and is covered in scales. While foes that are aware of her tail may telegraph this attack, Alexyana counts on that her foes tend to have "only" four limbs and aren't used to a fifth one, much less one to be used in combat, to balance out this weakness. Dragon Bomb (Physical Strength, Area Attack Proficiency) (600) Alexyana draws from her magic pool to enhance her next attack. This forces her to go stationary and charge up for ~5 seconds as her Energy Grid glows brightly. She then focuses the magic power she draws into either her torso or into one of her arms, following which she rushes forward and strikes at her foe either with a bodyslam or with a straight punch. After a ~half second delay the raw magic is released at the spot(s) where Alexyana's body connects with something (ideally the enemy body, but a shield, the ground or anything solid can trigger the effect too), creating a kinetic blast which affects everything connecting to the dragoness's body. The effect is comparable to an explosive in a tunnel: the kinetic force moves away from the point of impact in a small cone. It does not effect anything that does not connect with the point of impact. The strength of this attack is dictated by the area it affects, which is the area where Alexyana's attack connected. A bodyslam offers a bigger potential area of impact as the whole front side of Alexyana's torso (but the affected area may still be very small, for instance if her foe meets her charge by punching her in the stomach - meaning that the area of impact will be where the punch connects) and a punch is highly focused on a small area. Alexyana is noticeably weakened by the usage of this move as she invests a great amount of magic power into a single blow. A few points though: History: You don't need to tell us what your character will do and feel when you're in the Omniverse, we just need the know the moment she was taken. Also, can you be a bit more exact with the point of summoning? Don't really have to, but it would be nice. Buff Proficiency: This is for buffing others, not buffing yourself. Please decide if you want to keep this proficiency as you seem to have only bought it for your Dragon Bomb attack. Dragon Claws: How long are the claws in inches? Length could determine how deep a wound could the make. I mean, i can see them in your picture, but I'd prefer if the move said it. Dragon Bomb: As this only serves one function, this would be priced at 300. Also, as already stated, you don't need buff prof for this, the fact you are taking the time to charge is enough to make this move stronger. That said, would like to know how long she charges. The longer the charge, the more powerful your attack. I've seen a few people's first posts in the Nexus, so I'll likely move what I edit out to there, once I get approved. Moves I guess I overthought Dragon Bomb I figured that because it can be both a large-surface or a focused attack it should have two "modes" rather than one. I'll change the pricing and add some detail to the explanation - and possibly shorten the whole thing while I'm at it, in retrospective I think I may have tried too hard to explain it properly. I'll also clarify on the Dragon Claws move by adding numbers. Powers/Proficiencies Since I indeed only took it for the Dragon Bomb and it's not needed, I'll take off the Buff Proficiency and save my OM for now. Might spend them on items or other powers once I've saved up a bit. Thanks again for the help! Re: Alexyana - Guu - 09-04-2015 Oh, okay, I was confused about the Dragon Bomb move. If punching and body slamming has different effects, then it would be 600. Though, honestly, I'm having a hard time comprehending the move. So it creates a shock wave of sorts on the point of impact? Why does it form a cone? I'm a little confused what's happening here. Also, it may need Area Attack Proficiency. Unfortunately I don't know how I could explain it better, so I've made a sketch to hopefully clarify. If you still find it troublesome to understand, I'll scrape that move and think of something simpler. I'll get the Area Attack Proficiency added if you think it's needed - I just figured that it would be unnecessary since the attack can't hit more than one foe at a time. Just to add, if you wish to have your tail usable in combat as an extra limb outside o' that one move, to grab, block or thwap people just generally, that'd need a move at 300. Wouldn't need much of a description, just for completion's sake. Everything else is gravy and you're approved to begin RPing.
