Edward's & Minato's Sketch Pad stuff - Minato Namikaze - 07-30-2015 So, my first page, always a monumental step to anything. Hesitance is an issue, you never know what to start with and you don't want to ruin the page. Fear is another aspect, you want it to be good, but if you start with something good, how will you show progression? Well for me it was easy, I went back to the basics, the very first thing I ever learned to draw, art class or on my own. It was always beginning with the eyes. So here it is, and EYE don't want any complaining... :joker: You can comment on this stuff here if yo feel it necessary, or if you want to tell me how bad at drawing I am :omnip: :omni:
Re: Edward's & Minato's Sketch Pad stuff - Tearen Wover - 07-30-2015 Solid execution. Have you tried any western cartoon eyes? Re: Edward's & Minato's Sketch Pad stuff - Minato Namikaze - 07-30-2015 Ah, no I haven't xD Re: Edward's & Minato's Sketch Pad stuff - Minato Namikaze - 07-31-2015 Page 2 - If you can't read the writing, There will be a typed version after the image. ![]() Page 2 - Hands Page 2 was a way for me to express something that I have had trouble with in the past - hands - They aren't easy to draw, yet they can also be quite simple if you take your time. Hands weren't exactly the 'second' thing I learned to draw, in truth, that would be Manga faces. But I did want to start with something that I knew would show my progress. Something that would most definitely have residual guide lines. 1. Closed Fist 2. Open Palm, Fingers together 3. Open Palm Re: Edward's & Minato's Sketch Pad stuff - Thaal Sinestro - 07-31-2015 Hands are the most difficult thing to draw. Have you considered drawing from life? Using models and etc? Manga artists oftentimes underestimate just how important it is to go through the basics of life drawing to really hone the craft. I've got some good resources if you want me to send them your way!
