Choose Your Own Adventure: Omniverse! - Mickey Mouse - 07-05-2015 Quote:So... just a fun little experiment I'm trying. Basically I write a blurb with a choice at the end, someone picks what the character does, I write another blurb, and so on. Picking the choice is sort of first come, first serve. Anyone can choose, but I'm just going to take the first person who posts a choice. If you were the last person to choose, try to let someone else pick the next one, unless no one's biting. I can't promise I'll update this quickly. You slowly open your eyes. Around you, all you see is blackness. A great, dark void stretches out in all directions; you get the feeling it is inescapable. Your stomach sinks. You try to remember what you were doing before this moment, but the memories seem fuzzy. They exist, yes -- a forest with thorny branches twisting this way and that, a vine-covered keep, an important choice -- but nothing solid comes back to you. A glimmer of white light materializes out in front of you. Slowly, it begins to take the shape of a young boy. He is faceless except for a huge, eerie smile splayed out across his countenance. You might try to speak to him, but you find you cannot. Something stops you. He begins to speak. He explains to you that you have been pulled against your will into this place -- the Omniverse -- by his own selection. He tries to make it sound like you have been chosen specially, for some purpose, but you are having a hard time wrapping your mind around exactly what is going on here. The being explains that in this world -- or whatever it is -- you can summon anything your heart desires with Omnilium, which apparently is the energy that people survive off of in this world. He says there are others like you out there in this Omniverse. You doubt that. There are few other warriors as skilled as Reynor the Spider-Slayer. The being dissipates before your very eyes, and within seconds the blackness is replaced with an equally empty void, but this time completely white. At the "edges" -- though to look at them you wouldn't be able to tell they were the edges -- are eight gates, each surrounding you. The world immediately around you looks empty enough, save for a gigantic marble fountain, also covered in vines and moss, that rises rather randomly out of the ground. Despite the apparent safety of your current location, however, your battle instincts tell you that you should seek protection. You look down to find yourself wearing only your cloth undergarments, and a mixture of embarrassment and anxiety fill you. You decide to use this "Omnilium" to summon your trusty suit of iron armor. It works like a charm, so you figure next you should summon a weapon, but an unknown limitation makes you acutely aware that you can only summon one -- but you love all of your weapons so much, it's difficult for you to choose between them. You think long and hard. Do you summon the Dragon-Blessed Greatsword or the Longbow of Morgana's Weave? Re: Choose Your Own Adventure: Omniverse! - Demetri Malius - 07-05-2015 Given that he has armor, he is probably more fitted for a sword. So I say the Dragon-Blessed Greatsword Re: Choose Your Own Adventure: Omniverse! - Mickey Mouse - 07-05-2015 Also feel free to like... discuss... and stuff... if any of this merits discussion |
