Rivals - Gildarts - 06-20-2015
This thread was inspired by Luffy, *cough*secret rival*cough*
Rivals push you to do your best, motivate us on out laziest days, and give people a challenge...
It's simple, if your character has a rival (or they may have more than one,) post below!
You may also find your long lost rival by searching this thread. I'll start.
Magus Verses Caira

Seriously, schooling Omni is Nealaphh's sole motivator atm.

Nealaphh sees her as its main interim competition, since she is the only other eldritch abomination Nealaphh knows of that is aspiring to be a leader.

Guu vs. Gilgamesh: (Friendly Rivalry) These two have a truce currently, but can't deny their history. The fight between them shaped her future in the Omniverse in unimaginable ways.
Guu vs. Princess Bonbon Sunshine: Considering they are completely ideologically apposed to one another and Guu is currently squatting on Berry Blitzkrieg's former Tangled colony, these two will have it out. Probably many many times.
Guu vs. Retane: (Friendly Rivalry) Ambrosia and Horsemen will be keeping the peace between each other. However, considering Guu and Retane are both major faction leaders in the tangled and Retane has a major competitive streak, they might have a little bit of a rivalry going. Not a serious one, but yeah. Just means they might have a "Yo Mamma" battle or something.
Guu vs. Ganondorf: Guu currently doesn't know Ganon enough and even if she did, doubt that'd be grounds for her to come after him considering he's in a completely different verse and not effecting Ambrosia in anyway. However, why do I get the sinking feeling that this fight is doomed to happen someday...

Gilgamesh vs. Guu Gilgamesh still holds hard feelings towards Guu but since she undeniably kicked his ass in this new world he thinks it's best to just leave her alone.
Gilgamesh vs. Ganondorf He wants to be King of the Sand but that occupation is currently taken. Their showdown is inevitable.
Gilgamesh vs. Straizo The two of them stepped on each others feet in their first meeting. One wanted help to take down Dracula and the other…was more or less unwilling to help. Straizo still wants his help and now that he placed high in Dante's Abyss Gilgamesh may give him the time of day.

Ganondorf v. Gilgamesh: For obvs reasons. I expect it to be a pretty heated rivalry for some time, until the two can come to some sort of arrangement.
Ganondorf v. Magus: Though the two have yet to meet, they're two iconic villains in their series AND warlocks to boot. I expect the two to come to a head one day and whether their meeting is peaceful or not will depend on how the story progresses from here.
Ganondorf v. Enel: Enel killed Ganondorf and has been pretty much a thorn in his side since day 1. Expect their relationship to ALWAYS be strained. Will they be able to get along and work together long enough to attain their goals, or are they doomed to walk different paths?
Ganondorf v. Sinestro: The two have differing outlooks on how best to subjugate a people. Still, out of all the rivalries, this one has the best chance for being mutually beneficial. This is more a rivalry of who can outdo the other than an outright hostility.
The LAW v. MESH: Eventually these two groups WILL come to blows. It's only a matter of time.
Ganondorf v. Eighteen: Once begrudging allies, their relationship has soured due to recent events. Will they continue to work together, or will Eighteen get fed up with the Gerudo Lord and finally turn on him?

Carn vs ??? -I suddenly feel hollow inside once I realized I didn't have much material for rivalry on Carn...
Carn vs Desco(Friendly) -Carn has a thing for seafood, exotic ones at that. Might face each other again sometime soon.
Carn vs Carn -the anomaly is pretty much going to argue with itself most of the time now.

Dark Link vs. Link - Do I even need to explain why this might end up being a thing?
Dark Link vs. Ganondorf - Since the scant memories/recollections that he has come from Link's perspective, you can imagine that DL won't react kindly to GD once they encounter one another and might even pull a Link and just attack the man on sight. Regardless of how their relationship ends up developing, I imagine that at least one fight between them is unavoidable.
Dark Link vs. Gilgamesh - Actually, on its own, I don't think a rivalry between these two is particularly likely. DL has no personal reason to be hostile towards Gil and Gil would probably consider it beneath him to deal with someone like DL most of the time. That said, if they did end up clashing for whatever reason (which isn't as unlikely as it may appear, given that DL is an Empire agent), I could see Gil making it a point to be as belittling and hostile towards DL as possible and thus escalating their relationship into a sort of rivalry. Plus, who else would be more fitting to act as the Berserker in the Omniverse (even though DL is a polar opposite of Berserker in terms of personality)?

Potential rivals
Blackfire vs Guu
Blackfire met her in DA, taking advantage of her as a child, but soon learned she had underestimated the pink haired girl who held her own against the Tamaran Queen. Blackfire feels theirs unfinished business between them, which is why if she were to encounter Guu, the warrior trait within would influence her to challenge the child to a duel. Knowing how remarkably strong Guu is as a child, Blackfire would not hold back.
Blackfire vs Luffy
Again, unfinished business.
Blackfire believes, had it not been for the interference of the rubbery, stretchy, straw hatted wearing youth, she would have defeated Guu. Despite his goofy appearance, Blackfire acknowledges his strength, having literally experienced the raw power from his rock-like fists, colliding against her face. It is the reason why she would not hesitant to test the full scope of her power against him.
Blackfire vs Ganondorf
Blackfire will never be able to erase the image of his razor sharp horns piercing through her slender body like a fork through a soft loaf of bread. What makes it worse is that it had only happened after an act of uncharacteristic, selflessness; putting herself at risk just to save King Giglamesh.
Even though Dante's Abyss was just a game, if Blackfire were to encounter him, it could get ugly real quick. It would all depend on his demeanour.

Ludwig von Koopa vs Bowser Jr. (Brotherly Rival) : I can see this happening. Bowser Jr. pretty much replaced Ludwig for the title of the Koopa Heir and since then has became a nuisance. Even though he's forced to get along with the brat, he still doesn't like him.
Ludwig von Koopa vs Luigi (Conditional Rival) : Luigi isn't as respected as Mario is and Ludwig practically enjoys the fear that the younger brother has. The only time he'll ever be on Luigi's side is if they are to fight off a bigger threat together, but other than that, yeah.
