New Character: Triest - Triest Guest - 05-31-2015 Character name: Triest Character source: Original Character history: Triest lived most of his life, that is up until this point, on a planet dominated by deserts and the relics of civilizations long past. Someone had affectionately named the planet Canvas, as it sometimes looked like a giant blank canvas, often featureless, with only a few landmarks along the way. Triest was a scavenger. Well, he wouldn't call himself that certainly, but for the most part he was. He was travelling alone. Most companions didn't last, or quickly parted ways. They all seemed to have goals in mind, but Triest wasn't sure what he was looking for quite yet. On one of two fateful days, he was exploring a laboratory. At first it was fine, mostly useless junk and trinkets, but the system still had a working defense system, which he triggered. Gas flooded through the room, and he managed to escape after inhaling a lethal dose of the stuff. Desperate to survive, he grabbed one of the experimental serums in the neighboring room, one that was conveniently labeled "cure" and injected himself with it. What he didn't know was that the vial was a failed experiment, and that it contained a cocktail of mutagens. Specifically one of a local indigenous spider. The lab was trying to combat a type of toxic gas used by various militant groups back when civilization still stood. To their credit, the cure worked. On the downside, it left one as a hybrid of a spider and a human. Incredibly so. Now effectively an outcast, he really was alone. Not many loved the idea of mutants, especially since most of their minds were also taken. Eventually, on a second fateful day, he had uncovered another facility. This one was smaller, and from what he could tell, not a lab. Instead oddly, a long elevator shaft lead deep within the planet's crust. This shaft lead to a very long and dimly lit hallway with an empty frame on the opposite end. A small red shiny button was positioned next to it. How could he resist? Push. And then Triest suddenly found himself being dragged into a very bright portal. Physical Description: Triest has had his genes spliced with that of a spider. His entire body is covered with a chitinous carapace, which in turn, is covered with black fur. His hands only have two fingers and a thumb, and his feet only have two toes. Four back limbs grow out from his back, which are quite sharp, almost like a blade. He wears goggles he found over his four red blinking eyes to help protect against the sandstorms of his home, as well as some torn brown fabric he wrapped around his upper body. Stats: ATK: 2 DEF: 3 SPD: 3 TEC: 2 Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength - 1000 OM Ranged Proficiency - 1000 OM Starting Powers: Master Acrobat - 400 OM Jumping, Basic - 300 OM (I didn't find climbing, but I think that would make sense if he could easily scale surfaces and cling to them. 600 OM maybe?) Starting Moves: Double-Barreled Shotgun (Ranged Proficiency) - 300 OM A very powerful weapon, that is easy to use in close-quarters, but loses effectiveness quickly with range, and requires to be reloaded after one shot, as both barrels are unloaded. Can be used while moving. The way Triest uses it, he tries to get all of the pellets to hit a single target. Spider Limbs (Physical Strength) - 900 OM Four sharp limbs on his back can be used to either slash or puncture an opponent as a basic attack. They can also be used to buffet opponents away from him to gain space. Finally they can be used to pin opponents, which then allows Triest to wail on them. I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. - Don't be a Diva Re: New Character: Triest - Gilgamesh - 06-01-2015 Hi there! Welcome to the Omniverse! Double-Barreled shot gun is good but i'd like to know the reload time And for Spider limbs you could just describe the weapon and you'd use it like any other sword or etc. Re: New Character: Triest - Triest Guest - 06-01-2015 Hey! Thanks for the reply! I'll re-post everything with the items modded, but I do have one more question. I couldn't find climbing in the powers, and I think it would make sense if he would have the ability to easily scale and cling to surfaces. Is that an option, or am I just out of luck? ... Or do I just list it as a move and pay 300 for it? (I'll do this one, but that can be changed later if it's wrong.) ---------------------------------------------------------- Character name: Triest Character source: Original Character history: Triest lived most of his life, that is up until this point, on a planet dominated by deserts and the relics of civilizations long past. To reload both shots, it takes about 5 seconds, provided that he has undisturbed concentration. In typical combat situations, he prefers to wait until he's in cover or unseen before reloading, but if he has to, it usually takes 12 seconds with the added dodging and weaving having to be done. Can be used while moving. The way Triest uses it, he tries to get all of the pellets to hit a single target. Spider Limbs (Physical Strength) - 300 OM Four sharp limbs grow out from Triest's back, which can hit targets in front of him. Each limb, is blade-like, making them horrible for interacting with objects, but can be used just as effectively as a normal sword, being able to thrust, swing, and the like. They are quicker, but thinner, than a normal blade, and have the advantage of numbers, but being that they are a part of Triest himself, can be targeted and can inflict damage and pain to Triest directly, and each one can be crippled with a strong enough blow. Wall Climbing (Physical Strength, Jumping, Acrobat) - 300 OM Triest can easily scale walls and hold onto them, just like a spider. He has more difficulty using items or abilities if on a wall, but nothing stops him from doing so completely. He'll usually need to be still if he's doing anything other than moving if he's clinging to a surface. I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. - Don't be a Diva ---------------------------------------------------------------- I hope this works out. The only thing I'm still iffy on is the climbing. Re: New Character: Triest - Gilgamesh - 06-01-2015 Approved!!!
