Revolutionary Army Interest - Lubbock - 05-28-2015 Hey all! I am planning to form the Revolutionary Army from this fella's home anime/manga, Akame ga Kill! So, for now, I need to become more renowned and I need to come up with a backstory to this Faction, but the main idea is this: The Revolutionary Army is a large company who rebels against the ways of Camelot, fighting against the laws and rules placed upon citizens by the kingdom. Their goal: destroy Camelot. However, they don't just plan to weaken the walls. They are to attempt to take Camelot from the inside out. This is where Night Raid comes in: a group of trained assassins who carry out covert ops and assassinations in the dead of night for the Army. This small group could be the downfall to the giant kingdom. Well, that's it for now. May want to rethink the reason why they are fighting, but that'll come along. Please post here if you are interested in joining RA, and also mention if you'd like a spot in Night Raid! Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Okor - 05-28-2015 While Okor's all for some chaos and upheaval, I'm not quite seeing the rationale behind tearing the Kingdom to the ground. Has the Kingdom wronged anyone personally, is it a matter of principle, or is it a good ol' target of opportunity and looting? Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Dr. McNinja - 05-28-2015 I am in the same place as Okor. While I OoC would love to join, McNinja is still a hero and only does what he thinks is right. The only serious part about the comic is his struggle to balance his ninja side and his doctor side. He's a badass ninja... But only if it will help, or "cure" someone. When he loses control and goes berserk, it haunts him a lot. We should come up with a reason... Maybe a controversial execution or killing fields kinda thing? I was thinking that there could be things like Nobles importing the broke and homeless from other dimensions as slaves. Keep firing the ideas. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Thaal Sinestro - 05-28-2015 There could be a lot of things that happen to create an uprising of heroes. Pretty much every aspect of rulership in a place like the Omniverse is gonna hinge on power and control, not necessarily the good of the people. The lack of abundance of Omnilium is a powerful factor for leaders and peasants to contend with; people gotta eat but soldiers also need weapons. Where is the balance drawn? Even then a ruler is only as good as the subordinates that carry out his will. Even if Aragorn is a nice guy, that doesn't mean all of his officials are. And a Revolution doesn't HAVE to mean that it's against EVERYTHING in the Kingdom. There's a lot of nuanced, cool things you can do here, like the balance of good and order when the revolution kills a bad man, but a bad man who was an important member of the court. If the court doesn't crack down on it, that shakes the foundation of the entire political structure. What kicks off a rebellion could be as simple as one Secondary starving to death. It could be as simple as one child dying. It could be as simple as a new tax on Tea. Things are really starting to kick off here. Another idea is that someone else is pulling the strings and influencing leaders, and those leaders don't even know it. If we could sort that out with the Mods and Admins, that may just work. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Thaal Sinestro - 05-28-2015 You don't even have to involve the mods or admins if you don't want. You guys could just write your way through it and reveal the big scary string-puller at the end on your own. OR even get another member to orchestrate a small-scale "master plan" that you guys can discover, with the other member acting as a sort of "GM" as you dudes discover stuff. Collaboration! That would be great! If someone could do that, I would be highly grateful. For now, let's see who else will be interested. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Carn_Val - 05-28-2015 Carn can do the whole "pull some strings" thing. Bocks got wires though. XD Problem is that Carn hasn't established a foothold in Camelot yet. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Dr. McNinja - 05-28-2015 Mmm, this is very cool. What particularly interests me is that there'd be lack of good/bad. Like, what if the Revolution has to kill a "good" official because his death is somehow important to the ultimate victory? For the greater good, you know? And where does it stop being for the greater good? What does that even mean? And also, I really wanna see Carn_Val start singing "Do You Hear the People Sing?" Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Alain the Carnedge - 05-28-2015 It's all about the greater good. Bad joke aside, I'll probably join up as part of the Night Raid since Stealth and stuff. Wonder if Dumbledore's like a raid boss... Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Dr. McNinja - 05-28-2015 Yeah I'm done for a night raid. Can we call ourselves the Secret Revolution? Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Lubbock - 05-28-2015 Dr. McNinja Wrote:Yeah I'm done for a night raid. I based the names around what they are from the anime and manga, so I don't want to have to change that. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Dr. McNinja - 05-28-2015 Well boo. I'll make my own revolution... with strippers! Kidding, sounds good. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Carn_Val - 05-28-2015 What does that make Carn? Also, if you read the history, you'll see that Aragorn is far from being the paragon of good. He's made some harsh calls in the past and made a lot of enemies, and I wouldn't call Camelot a perfectly harmonious place either. So in short, I think this idea is great and has a lot of potential if you delve into the mentality and rationale (rather than just trying to be generic assholes/terrorists). Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Lubbock - 05-28-2015 So, ideas we have so far that might happen in Camelot: Slavery Execution of innocents Someone pulling strings from the shadows (Carn?) Unnecessary sacrifice Lust for power Best for the soldiers, not citizens Dirty subordinates Not cracking down on crimes Terrorizing public Letting innocents starve TAX ON TEA So, if you have any ideas, please post. If you are interested in joining the RA, or Night Raid for that matter, post that too. Re: Revolutionary Army Interest - Thaal Sinestro - 05-28-2015 Carn_Val Wrote:What does that make Carn? "Using this system, you're free to do things such as roleplay the NPC antagonist of a friend's story. You can also gain the OM for this writing by using your normal character account. As long as you plan to come back to your character, we're fairly lenient with this." You don't even have to be Carn and you could still be earning OM as that character. You could just be a badass villain. |
