RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Lubbock - 05-28-2015

Lubbock stepped through the gate onto the familiar white floor that was the Nexus. He raised one arm up in a stretch, feeling the muscle and bone pop a little, before progressing to his other arm.

"I guess that was just a stroke of bad luck," Syura reassured Lubbock. The teen stoppped stetching and sighed.

"I know, but... I mean, I'm an assassin, I should have lasted - " he began.

"You were up against other mercenaries and assassins, most probably better trained than you. Don't let it get to your head. Just get stronger and you can win whatever may come up next," he told him kindly, which is rather surprising for the voice. Lubbock whistled.

"Wow, you've learned both a sense of humour and sympathy. Good job, my friend," he stated sarcastically. It was obvious that Syura would have been grimacing right at that moment.

He began to take a couple of strides towards the center, but noticed something was off - there was no gate, and instead it was replaced with a giant fist, scarily resembling the foam fists he had in the abyss. I think someone's out to piss me off... he told himself, eyebrow twitching slightly in fury.

He strode up towards it and placed a hand against the stone, build to look like muscle - muscle that turned out to be fake in the abyss. If he had have received something better - at least like that cold chick's crossbow - he could have survived longer. He punched the cold rock at the thought, then reeled back quickly as the pain struck his knuckles and he held his hand between his thighs, trying to stop the pain.

Finally stopping with his onslaught of curse words and other unnecessary acts, Lubbock turned to look at the gates all around him. He'd already travelled into the Beach-babe gate, and that didn't turn out to be any fun whatsoever. Fricking crabs... he reminisced at the thought. He took a look at the other areas, and none seemed to fit his tastes - although, the one that looked like it was frozen over seemed rather interesting.

Remembering how tiring it was to get to a single damn gate, Lubbock attempted something - he began to summon a horse, a common form of transportation where he was from. Easily enough, the large form of the animal took shape, the muscles built powerful and and the figure sleek. Finally, the black-haired beast was standing there, whipping its head around and ready to be ridden. He strode up to it and reached a hand out, stroking the soft, black hair. He lifted a leg up and pushed onto the rigid back. However, before he could ride away, a familiar face passed through the gate.

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Alain the Carnedge - 05-28-2015

He emerged from the gate...and couldn't really say he had missed the Nexus. It was blank as always, the only good thing about the Nexus being the gates that led to elsewhere. Alain couldn't help but lament that he'd done so well just to get decimated by bad luck and a bad move. Just HAD to find Samus Aran and Harry Dresden. The mercenary had considered going after Aran in the pre-show but decided against it in the end. Alain had considered a time in a Library a day off after being lost in the Moors for a while. Sure, he took down a nigh-invincible monster there, but the wandering was just terrible. Well, if Samus and Harry weren't losing their bounties in the Abyss, they were losing 'em after.

Alain got over the brief disorientation that came with walking through a gate, took a step forward...and immediately saw the green-haired guy, on a horse, staring at him. Aw, no. These types of meetings never went well, and the mercenary stopped dead in his tracks, beginning to analyze the guy just in case this turned out bad. "Heeeeeey...uh...how're you doin'?" He said. Talking to somebody that he thought he murdered just a few hours ago felt really awkward, but it was really just stalling until the analysis ended. But maybe he could get outta here without a fight?...Alain hesitated for a second before introducing himself. "I'm Alain Velgr, a mercenary. Apologies about the erm, abyss stuff."

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Gin Yatreg - 05-28-2015

Gin and Tonic stepped out of the gate, the blankness of the nexus blinding Gin for a second. While his eyes readjusted he bumped into the back of Alain. Gin backed up, "Ah, sorry about that. I wasn't watching where I was go..ing..." Gin trailed off, realizing who Alain was. "Hey, you're that guy I snatched the hammer from!" he said.

Gin then looked over and saw Lubbock next to them as well, "Oh hey Lubbock, you died too?" he asked bluntly.

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Lubbock - 05-29-2015

The guy in the red cloak, 'Alain' as he called himself, must have been expecting Lubbock to grimace and turn cold at that very moment. The dude was wrong. Lubbock dismounted off of his steed and strode over to Alain with a casual gait, taking steps non-cautiously. When he approached the mercenary, he extended his red gloved hand.

"Heya! Name's Lubbock. Nice to meet you!" he greeted him, and the expression on Alain's face was that of astonishment as he rather shakily took Lubbock's hand in a handshake, "It's alright, I'm not mad at all. I actually rather liked that fight - except for when that four-armed bastard chucked me off the cliff... But that doesn't matter now. Gathering allies is more important,"

When Gin's red hair emerged from the gate, Lubbock's face lit up and he released the handshake, bolting over to his friend. He have him a friendly clap on the shoulder as a greeting.

"Yeah, I wasn't the first though. The Flash apparently got screwed over by that menacing green guy," he told him in reply. He stepped back for a moment and slid his hands into his pockets as he eyed off the giant bird - Tonic, as he was told at the park - with nothing but contempt.

"Lubbock, remember that Gin said they weren't good to eat," Syura reminded him. The boy's focus went back to Gin.

"So... Planning on going to that icy-looking place. You wanna tag along?" he asked, turning from Gin to Alain for confirmation.

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Alain the Carnedge - 05-29-2015

The mercenary had almost instantaneously turned to look at Gin once they'd bumped into him. He wasn't even mad; all it really meant was that somebody else had some really bad luck. Which made him feel a bit better.

"Yeah, I remember you. You kicked me in the face and then got beat up by the pig-man...thing. Some guy with no fashion sense got his eyes gouged out by a green alien and also got beat up by the giant pig. Then I knocked it out and was about to walk away, but some bipedal mouse and a redheaded chick came along and took the hammer after I threw it at them." Alain said, shrugging like what he just said wasn't weird at all, before turning back to Lubbock.

"Anyway, icy-looking place? Sure, I'll tag along. Can't be worse than the Moors." He replied to green's inquiry, taking the new dataverse device out of his pocket and ignoring Lubbock's stare after he mentioned a chick with red hair. The merc's dataverse device got blown to a million pieces, as did the communicator. Luckily he'd found new ones in his cloak pockets after resurrecting, but they were in the appearance of some high-tech phone instead. Alain didn't complain, and took a look at what the dataverse had to say about the so-called icy looking place.

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Gin Yatreg - 05-29-2015

"It's been a while since I've seen some snow. So sure, it sounds like fun!" Gin said ecstatic. Gin hops up on Tonic and looks down at the other two, "I'm ready when you guys are!" he said.

"This'll be great!" Gin thought. "I finally have some travelling companions now! Well, besides Tonic anyways." he finished. "So what's in the Frozen Fields? An Ice Palace? A Yeti? Ooooh, or maybe a giant cave system that leads to the lost city of R'lyeh!" Gin said in an excited tone.

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Lubbock - 05-29-2015

Lubbock stared intently at the device enveloped by the merc's hand. It looked very strange, nothing like anything from his world. He pointed at it.

"Is that... What they call the 'Dataverse'?" he asked, sounding fairly childish. The man in the red cloak almost seemed to be holding back a grin as he turned from the device.

"Ah, no, you see, this isn't the Dataverse. This is a device that connects to the Dataverse," he kindly informed the green-haired stud, "You can use it to contact other Primes and find out information about the different Verses around here,"

"Ah, okay, I get it now. I guess I should probably get it myself," he stated, before imagining a sort of mimic of Alain's, forming an image in mind, before getting his Omnillium to work on the now green device. The assassin finally opened his eyes and snatched the machine out of the air in front of him. He didn't bother to work it out just yet, as long as he had it on him he was happy. He listened for Alain's research.

"The Dataverse states that, "Through gates from the Nexus, Vasty Deep and the Pale Moors lie the Frozen Fields. The outskirts require careful navigation as the ice is thin and there are many areas where the only way to proceed is across floating glaciers. Towards the centre of the verse the land becomes more mountainous. Upon these peaks and within its caves, dwarves, giants and dragons make their home,"," he informed them, and Lubbock's eyes lit up at the mention of Dragons.

"Okay guys, mount up, we are so going to the Frozen Fields. Gin, get ok that bird and Alain... Well, either you get your own ride or you're saddling up with me," he told the both of them with a goofy but ecstatic grin.

Re: RETURN [Gin/Alain] - Alain the Carnedge - 05-30-2015

The mercenary pocketed his new device and yawned. "I'll get my own transport then. I'll meet you guys at the gate." He replied. "Cool. Alright, let's ride!" Lubbock said in return, saddling up on the horse he'd summoned and riding off with Gin. Alain shrugged to nobody in particular and started to summon, checking the analysis results as he did. Lubbock's abilities, according to the information, all involved wires. Other than that, the guy didn't hit too hard, couldn't take hard hits, was pretty fast, and had a lot of skill. Pretty simple stuff compared to the guys in the Moors, but he wasn't complaining. Far easier to remember, at least.

It wasn't long until he'd summoned a motorcycle. Considering it was the exact same one that he'd made upon coming to the Nexus, there was a distinct feeling of Déjà Vu. He just hoped that this time, there wouldn't be vampires. The mercenary took a quick look around just in case, before getting on the bike and setting off towards the Frozen Fields.

Alain never did like the Nexus. The white was simply unnatural, even for him. Messing around with magic usually gave you something bizarre, but it was instead some evil monster that wants to eat the world or something. But that was actually fairly common. Dealing with that kind of stuff was part of the job, but nobody had ever managed to make a world that was almost completely blank. Probably because they didn't want to. The mercenary just hoped he'd get used to the Nexus at some point. He'd be seeing it a lot.

A few minutes went by before he caught up to Lubb and Gin...and sped right past them. 80MPH bike evidently beat 20MPH bird and 40MPH horse. The merc resisted the urge to wave at them as that was an excellent way to crash, and they weren't too far from the gate at this point anyway. Taunting the guys on their speed could wait. It was maybe five or so minutes until he'd reached the gate, which was covered in ice. Alain wasn't sure, nor did he particularly care. The other two caught up after a while, looking a bit surprised at how fast his mechanical vehicle was. The mercenary waved from afar and stepped through the gate once he was confident they saw him.

You must be this tall to Nexus. - Gin Yatreg - 06-01-2015

"Jeeze, someone's a showoff. He couldn't have rode alongside us?" Gin said, watching Alain step into the gate from afar.

"Guess not!" Lubbock said in response. Lubbock then whipped the reigns of his horse and sped up, pulling ahead of Gin and Tonic and leaving them behind.

"Wha- Hey! Don't leave me behind!" Gin shouted, "C'mon Tonic, we gotta speed up!"

"WAAARK!" Tonic shouted, picking up the pace. Lubbock rides through the gate, disappearing into the blue vortex of the gate. Gin and Tonic ride towards the gate at top speed, arriving at it shortly after Lubbock. Tonic charges on, with Gin hitting his head on the top of the gate as Tonic enters it. Gin tumbles backwards and off his feathered friend. He shakily stands up, dizzily walking towards the gate before collapsing on the other side and mumbling something about bananas.
