Dante's Abyss and the Dataverse - Karl Jak - 05-22-2015
As you know, this entire contest (starting from the Barracks) will be filmed and 'streamed' (depending on the verse, it might be projected through less technical and more magical means) to all parts of the Omniverse.
Due to how hip Syntex is, there will be a lot of social media activity, and all entrants are permitted to have Dataverse-capable devices on the island (although all they can be used to access is social media websites like Omni Twitter -- no emails, no porn, no nothing). Although you are already being filmed, you may still upload videos and other things to the Dataverse MBs throughout the contest. Think of this as a way to connect with the viewers (and fans) who may support you. This is an optional story element, and while I will be reading everything in the Dataverse that involves DA, it won't have a strong bearing on your chances, because I know some writers are masters of the Dataverse and some are not.
You must have a Dataverse Device to use it during the Island.

I'll have to justify Guu having her dataverss device on her instead of her stomach considering she won't have access to that move after the games start.

Me- I havent read a thing of hers really. But I am pretty sure she got a lot of it from the Dataverse.

While Guu DOES post on the DV a lot, she actually has a ton of stuff in the other Verses as well. She's one of those "I can write once or twice a day easily" kinda folks. You know, unlike people like me who are "Maybe I'll write this month" types.

Why? It doesn't really effect you at all. Like... AT ALL. Alex said he's not gonna be looking at those posts when determining Rankings. So, basically, it's just a little fun thing people with extra time can do on the side.

I've always imagined DA as a reality show for those with a fucked up sense of what entertainment is.
I would actually expect the Dataverse to have live streams of DA. And that the OmniTwitter would explode with hashtag references.

Writing for the Dataverse is so much fun! Just a nice break form prose to post some tweets, or do a silly fanfiction, or write up a youtube video! And really, it's a very different way of character development. Heck, her battle with Gilgamesh would have never happened if Guu hadn't done some trolling on Twitter. Where'd I be without that battle, still telling stories about a racist mayor? I doubt Guu would have even ever come in contact with Gilgamesh if Twitter hadn't been in place. It opens so many door for collaboration and story telling.
And yes, I do roleplay as Guu outside of the Dataverse. I've dumped so many words into building up my kingdom and I've come a long way with Guu as a character. However, building the Dataverse as it is today has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever done and I'm glad I've made such a major contribution to this universe of ours.

I see the Dataverse as a nice way to include little tidbits that just don't mesh well into your post. For me personally, I like to use OmniTwitter to add that little extra bit of 4th wall that might've been to overboard for my post.

Guu basically turned the DV into a place where nothing ever happened into one of the most frequently used boards (if not THE most frequently) on the Site.

You should probably try to work in conjunction with Greg then. See what you can/can't do.

Why did quotes matter in the post? because he was taking lines from a song and we're not supposed to gain OM from them?
(sicne we all know you don't get OM credit for quotes)
