Staff's Opinion? - Sasuke Uchiha - 05-18-2015
This question is more of an advise from staff about my character build, but here it is:
I have 0 def, but 4 in speed, with foresight to aid in dodging. So here is my question, in your opinion, what would give me more of an advantage in a graded pvp fight: stat upgrade making me have 1 def or burst movement power giving me a double to speed in close combat, to better aid in dodging attacks?

Real answer: it would depend on how you write it. That's really more important in terms of whether you win or lose fights than anything else.
My opinion: I mean, you could argue either way? Because some things are going to hit him regardless, especially if you're not godmoding or if the opponent has homing, so I'd really recommend picking up a point in DEF especially just to keep things realistic. Sasuke isn't that weak.

My opinion: Never have 0 in any Stat. 0 in a Stat is below an average human's capability. As far as I know, Sasuke at least has a healthy human resilience.
Real answer: Just take a look at the fights I've judged recently: The Tarrasque Artefact Fight and Guu Vs. Gilgamesh. It is all about how you write and whether or not it adds up to make a believable story.

For an event like DA, you should plan to take a beating. I know you're aware of that fact better than I am, but my suggestion is to at least invest in a DEF point. Writing is certainly the primary factor when judging, but the judge also has to, at least somewhat, consider logic. A frail combatant taking a myriad of hits isn't going to last long.

I would say that TEC is probably more valuable than SPD, in terms of defensive prowess.

Actually, I would say both Speed and Defense are more valuable stats when it comes to defensive ability, Speed allows you to dodge (and also, somewhat, determines your likely hood of fleeing from a fight) and Defense is your Durability and over all 'Tankiness'. If tech does come into it, it would definitely be after both of those.

SPD and TEC are both arguably equally useful for offense and defense. DEF is the best defensive stat of course.

TEC involves how well you can block and counter attacks. Also, SPD doesn't matter much if not executed properly.
