Nealaphh - Guest - 05-11-2015

Character name: Nealaphh

Character source: Original

Character history:

Nealaphh is being who has been slighted.

Originally from completely different Multiverse, Nealaphh was effectively a god. Able to bend time and space to its whim, Nealaphh devoured stars on a whim, and had almost total omniscience. Its pervasive presence throughout that Multiverse made it especially attuned to the flow of events, and eventually, it came to Nealaphh's attention that the Multiverse it inhabited was dying.

For a being that has no need to heed the concepts of space and time, it was trivial to branch out its tendrils to try and latch on to a new ultimate reality to inhabit.

The first place it found was the Omniverse.

Though Nealaphh was far from the most powerful entity in its Multiverse, it had no reason to fear a being such as Omni. When Nealaphh accepted Omni's invitation into the Omniverse, Nealaphh was under the assumption that it would have the same control it did in its old Multiverse.

It did not.

Nealaphh realized too late that Omni had transplanted only a tiny fragment of Nealaphh's being into the Omniverse. The would-be god cursed and raged at Omni, but the deed was done, and the capricious overseer kicked Nealaphh into his world without another word.

Nealaphh was horrified at what it was made to be; mortal, finite, and confined to but a single form and body. Having almost none of its former power, Nealaphh could not even escape back into its old Multiverse. But what Omni could not take from Nealaphh was it's mind. Despite being a but a fleeting shadow of its former self, Nealaphh still could draw upon its vast and otherworldly knowledge to at least manipulate the Omniverse in limited ways around itself.

Now Nealaphh roams the Omniverse as a pilgrim, seeking to fully comprehend each and every verse within this vast new world. The shadow plots to one day take Omni's place in control of the Omniverse for itself, but it is no fool. It will be patient, and amass as much power as it can before enacting it's plans of revenge.

Physical Description:

Nealaphh prefers to keep a low profile, and as such has adapted a shadowy form well suited to its preferred climbs. The shadow wears a heavy black cloak that has further black symbols stitched into it. Most of the symbols appear to be meaningless squiggles, but occasionally, when viewed as a group, they sometimes appear to form images of constellations and planets.

Though humanoid in proportions, the resemblances to a normal person end there. Nealaphh's skin is completely pitch black, and seems to have a sort of polished shine, though this is not usually noticeable when it is wearing it's heavy robe. Nealaphh's face is completely devoid of features, except for three green eyes that have an acidic glow. The first two of its eyes are in the normal place for a human, but the third is placed slightly below the right eye, giving Nealaphh's face an eerie assemetry.

Nealaphh's body is completely androgynous, and if it sheds its robe, it has only a naked body beneath, devoid of any sort of identifying features. Items that it carries are stored out of sight within the voluminous sleeves of its robe, and it usually has its arms folded together, unless it specifically needs to grasp or manipulate something manually.

Nealaphh can only communicate telepathically.

Stats:
ATK: 1
DEF: 4
SPD: 0
TEC: 5

Nealaphh is a tactical genius, and it's otherworldly body make it highly resilient to most normal forms of damage. Nealaphh, however, is not accustomed to operating within a physical body, and as such, it moves in a slow, ponderous fashion. In addition, while it can keep an opponent at bay if need be, Nealaphh prefers to avoid confrontation and tends not to put a great deal of force into its attacks.

Starting Proficiencies:

Ranged Proficiency (1000 OM), Remote Control Proficiency (600 OM), Ranged Materialization Proficiency (600 OM)

Starting Powers:

Advanced Telekinesis (1000), Telepathy (1500 OM)

Starting Moves:

Spatial Snap (300 OM)

Nealaphh causes a small 3x3 foot sphere of space to suddenly burst outwards directly in front of itself. This will effectively deflect any incoming physical matter in a random direction. Energy based attacks such as fire, ki, or lasers are not affected.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

Read it twice.

Re: Nealaphh - Omni - 05-11-2015

As a general rule, we don't allow changing the introduction/circumstances of being pulled in, for story reasons. You can still have your guy be a god of another multi-verse but it always happens that you simply wake up here. Omni doesn't reach out as such.

Re: Nealaphh - Guest - 05-11-2015

Understood. Wasn't sure how to edit as a guest so I'll rewrite here.

Character History:

Nealaphh is an enigmatic being who rarely discusses it's past, and as such, the following information is intentionally vague.

What is clear about the shadow is that it once inhabited an entirely different Multiverse, which had no interaction with the Omniverse. There, Nealaphh had power on the par of a god. Though it was not one of the ultimate deities of its Multiverse, Nealaphh could still extinguish stars and bend space and time on a whim. Then only thing inhibiting it's power there was it's Master, a deity who Nealaphh refuses to name. What Nealaphh exactly did for this Master, or how it came to exist in the first place, remain nebulous mysteries.

However, when Nealaphh suddenly found its previously infinite being confined within a small, finite, mortal body upon waking in the Omniverse, it experienced something new: Fear.

Horrified that it was confined to a single form, and lacking the power to transport itself back to its home Multiverse, Nealaphh swore vengeance on whatever entity it was that had brought it to such a lowly state. Though this existence limited Nealaphh to just a tiny fraction of its former power, Nealaphh still has the mind of a near-god, and is still able to use its eldritch knowledge to manipulate the world around itself, albeit to a much, much smaller degree. Nealaphh is no fool, and now seeks to uncover all the hidden mysteries of this Omniverse before even considering confronting the ultimate being in residence.

Re: Nealaphh - Guest - 05-12-2015

I know that me including Nealaphh's general status in the Omniverse post wake-up might be jumping the gun a little bit.

Let me know if I need to edit again.

Re: Nealaphh - Atelos - 05-12-2015

History is good, just make sure you read the introduction because that is what your prime is going to know when he reaches the
Omniverse. For your move you are going to need Area Shield Proficiency, which you don't have the OM for

Thank you for your patience

Re: Nealaphh - Guest - 05-13-2015

Oh, I thought area shield was only needed if the shield was larger than three feet. Is it because it's a sphere that I would need that? If so, I can just rewrite it as a disc in front of Nealaphh.

Re: Nealaphh - Atelos - 05-13-2015

Yeah you're right. Sorry I forgot the limit to not get area shield was 3 feet. One last question, how often can Nealaphh do this in succession?

Re: Nealaphh - Guest - 05-13-2015

I would say only once per round, so if it's fighting a single opponent it's pretty good (assuming they're not packing an energy weapon), but multiple attackers would be very problematic.

Currently Nealaphh's mortal brain just doesn't have the endurance to be able to focus on such complex math more often than that. Nealaphh's brain is already pretty strained trying to contain a god-mind as is.

Re: Nealaphh - Guest - 05-13-2015

Actually, thinking about it, I think I want to rework that power slightly. My rationale is that a warp in space would deflect anything, but seeing as Nealaphh is very slow, it probably wouldn't have the reaction time to block extremely fast projectiles like bullets, lasers, arrows. Maybe if Nealaphh had the warp up in advance it might work for those, but that's unlikely given it's speed.

So!

Let me make it official:

Spatial Snap (300 OM) Requires Advanced Telekinesis

Nealaphh causes a three foot wide disc of spacetime to lens outwards from its body, which will deflect any incoming projectiles or melee attacks. Nealaphh can only do this once per round, due to the mental strain, and due to its slow nature, cannot react fast enough to block extremely fast attacks such as bullets, lasers, or lightning fast melee blows.

When Nealaphh bends space in this way, it light will bend around the spacial warp, causing a sort of fishbowl effect in front of itself. The only sound made is a low, almost subsonic rumble.

Re: Nealaphh - Gilgamesh - 05-13-2015

How long does it take to form this?

Re: Nealaphh - Guest - 05-13-2015

I'm picturing about half a second.

Make a roster in the Roster Forum, copy and paste the above and make that the first post of your roster. The second reply should contain all the core information of your character(Look at the profile of an active member to see what I'm talking about)

Here's a topic to help you along: What to Do Once You've Been Approved

Remember that your first post should be in the Nexus after you've been taken by Omni, and all future purchases should go in a log that I shall set up shorty.

Once you get activated you're good to go! Enjoy the Omniverse!

Re: Nealaphh - Proto Man - 05-15-2015

You're activated.

Sorry for the delay.
