Insight, Mechanics, Fourth Wall - Neal - 04-27-2015
I'm planning on getting Insight to enable Neal's memory and "insight" on some canon characters... But I also want to ask if I could use Insight for Neal to more easily grasp "Omniphysics" or at least what's described in the Rules, at the very extreme maybe "scratch" at the Fourth Wall (like the original concept for Neal could.)

Well Deadpool also breaks the fourth wall, so it shouldn't be an issue. As we told him though, if you're interacting with other players, make sure you get their permission first before breaking the walls involving them.

This sort of reminds me of a move I tried to get approved way back when I originally wanted Insight for Guu. (Didn't go that route, but ya know.)

I'm kinda in the process right now of having Deadpool realize the Omniverse site exists. So that would make him aware of all Omniverse activity, essentially.
I just try to make sure I don't overdue it.

See, the original Neal had a lot of Deadpool influence, which is why he originally could breach the fourth wall. At the end, he literally "jumps" through the chapters so that I basically rewrote the book with a new perspective... Second time around he slaughtered the opposition. That was my epilogue though, it was obviously rather brief.
Anyway, it might not be to THAT point yet, but the basic mechanics of how the Omniverse works would be plenty. If he knows the mechanics behind powers and moves, as well as had a list of available powers and prof.s, he'd be able to IC plan out his growth.

Followup question: Would I need a move to be able to figure out the mechanics of Omniverse through intuition? Or only if Insight is used directly against a Prime?

Being able to know that the Omniverse is a site, really is lame territory I want to steer away from, hence that rule.
Now, suspecting that this is all artificial or whatever? Sure. Recognising that there are people that are fictional in your own world? Stretching it, and should only be done with permission from those characters, but okay. That's about as far as it should go. I don't mind it when people make fourth-wall breaking jokes like little easter eggs for readers, and that's why the rule only says 'blatant' fourth wall breaking.

Neal would not see the secondaries or Primes as fictional. Being a geek (like his player) he'd see it in terms of String Theory, that they were plucked from another universe - and that their universe simply "leaked" into his in the form of fiction. Of course, I'd get their permission first, but for the most part it's RP fodder that helps fill out Neal's personality.
