A Nation Reborn - Gilgamesh - 03-24-2015 A bright flash of light came out of the blue portal leading to the Dunes. Gilgamesh walked out as he took a deep breath of the sandy air. The dryness was a large contrast to the wet, humid air of the Tangled Green. Gilgamesh flinched as he touched the remnants of the battle between him and Guu. He sourly frowned at the thought of his loss but he would get stronger, and his Kingdom would grow. That’s right, Gilgamesh’s kingdom! A smile crept on his face as he remembered his city of Nippur and how prosperous his Kingdom would soon become. He looked down the hill to the heathen city of Carrefore. How it would soon crumble before Gilgamesh’s might. Soon. Gilgamesh arrived at the backwards town of Carrefore and its barbituric people. The incessant chatter of the streets eventually became strong whispers and he could hear his name whispered through the street. The incessant banter was starting to get on Gilgamesh’s nerves and a vein began to bulge on his forehead and his face began to show signs of annoyance. “Do you worms actually believe you are worthy of speaking my name?! Continue to degrade my name in such a fashion and you will die like the runts you are.” An eerie silence rang through the street and people’s eyes averted from Gilgamesh to save themselves from his wrath. A tumbleweed comically broke the silence as it forced the King to stop and watch as it breezed along. He took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes in frustration. I already have my Kingdom. There is no point in entertaining these mongrels any longer! He opened his eyes and continued on his path as the streets began to empty and the residents trailed along to their houses. A pair of troopers began to come out of an alleyway and their garbled talk began to become frantic once they saw Gilgamesh. Words like, “Isn’t that the King of Heroes.” and “Isn’t that guy an enemy?” They took their guns out as slowly approached him, their footsteps careful as if they were trying to sneak up on him. “Halt! In the name of the Emperor you are under arrest King of Heroes .” Their guns aimed, shaking ever so slightly. Gilgamesh walked past them with no acknowledgement and their “collected calmness” broke. “I said halt or else I’ll shoot.” The King paused in the middle of the street, his back facing towards to hostile troopers. He could feel the quivering in their voices and the fear in their hearts. “Do you really think I shall waste my precious time fighting with only two mongrels? Think wisely, who will come out alive?” An uncomfortable shift in the troopers flew by and he heard them talk some mumbled gibberish into their communicators. The King continued his stroll, unbothered by any more troopers. As he was about to reach the edge of town several voices called out in unison. “Wait!” Frantic footsteps and kicked up dust was easily seen and heard as the King lazily turned to meet the many voices. He saw a group of men and women all eager and filled with either hope or fear, come out and greeted the King, their eyes downcast on the ground. An older man’s voice emitted out of the crowd, “King of Heroes, us lowly villagers wish to join the Kingdom of New Babylon and we hope you will provide a Safe Haven to your citizens.” The Old Man looked up from the crowd, his toothless grin and his white beard dusty from the harsh weather. Gilgamesh peered at the man before turning his back on them. “Very well, come along.” Gilgamesh lead the way back to his Kingdom, a trail memorized long ago through his many voyages across the desert. As Gilgamesh came upon his Kingdom he saw a group of large men erecting a nice tavern to keep its occupants safe, their sweaty bodies pulling the rope as dusty-colored as the sand around it. His loyal servant, Anos, came to greet the King but as he approach with the new group Anos’ eyes flew wide open. “My King! Watch out!” Gilgamesh turned in a panic to see the Old man brandishing a silver dagger covered in a thick, mucus-like substance. His toothless grin showing and his eyes wide with insanity. A shrill laugh came along with his raspy voice. “Die, False King!” A Nation Reborn II - Gilgamesh - 03-28-2015 The crazed eyes of the Empire Fanatic came crashing down upon Gilgamesh as he desperately tried to end the King’s life. The people around him began to scream as flee into the great city the fanatic began his attempt to murder the righteous King. Gilgamesh’s hands rushed up to grab his arm, but his strength began to waiver as the pain in his stomach flared and the fatigue from the recent battle had taken a toll on him. The rabid dog punched him in the stomach and he could feel the bullet wound begin to reopen, and the knife grew ever closer to his heart. His face turned to a grimace in pain before he kicked the man off of him and watch him stumble and fall to the ground. Gilgamesh bent over in pain as his blood began to stain his white shirt. His eyes flared up in rage as he glared at the man who dare attempt to murder his King! “You foul cur! How dare a worm like you stand up to me? Die filth!” The King opened a portal above his head and weapons began to peek out. The King had a cruel smile planted on his face as he sent a sword down on it’s decent. Sand flew everywhere and Gilgamesh turned his back, entering his beautiful city and he greeted Anos as he rushed past him? Gilgamesh turned his head and saw that his faithful old servant had just tackled the Old Man who was still alive?! Somehow the Old Man had survived! He watched the two wrestle over the knife, punching scraping and occasional curses flew from their mouths. “Now you pagan! Die!” The Old Man apparently had gotten control of the knife somehow and was on top about to kill Anos. He smiled his toothless smile as he couldn’t help to laugh maniacally. Anos’ face was placid, prepared to die for his King and he closed his eyes waiting for judgement His laugh was cut short and his head toppled from his body to the ground. Anos peeked open an eye to see the headless corpse of the fool and Gilgamesh with a bloodied sword, inspecting it for some sort of plague. The corpse slumped on top of the servant and Anos’ pushed it off to get up. As he was beginning to stand back up he saw his King coming to greet him. A smile came on his face, however it was short lived. Instead of praise the King wiped the blood onto Anos’ white robe. He sighed as the King inspected his weapon for any more...imperfections and watched him let it return to the vault in it’s classic golden dust. Gilgamesh turned and walked away from Anos reentering his soon to be beautiful city. He paused and turned his head towards Anos, who still stood standing next to the corpse. “Good work Anos, with my city…and with the heretic.” He simply dropped it and turned to enter his city, the screaming group of people were hiding behind one of the men who was lifting the supports to the new building. He started to look at his nails…Oh shit I broke a nail. Damn Old Man. The group of people came rushing out kneeling before the King saying some praise...or whatever. Gilgamesh had to stifle a yawn and their tuned out voices eventually came to an end. He forced a smile and patted one of the men on the back before speaking to them. “Yes, you see. My Kingdom protects all of my citizens. You are safe here. You may rest if you wish, but we do have work to do to ensure that this town meets my standards of a capital.” Gilgamesh waved them off as he turned to see Anos behind him. “Anos, what have you done while I was away, and where is my pet?” Gilgamesh looked around him as Anos still looked uncomfortable with the man’s blood on his shirt. “Ah yes my King, we have erected a housing area for the people to live temporarily while we construct appropriate areas to live. As for your pet...she had to take care of a pest problem.” Anos looked down and noticed the blood on Gilgamesh’s shirt. “My King? Is that your blood? Did the man manage to stab you? Do you need anything of me King?!” Gilgamesh looked down at the wound in his stomach and smiled faintly at Anos. “Some relaxation and medical attention would be nice. Let’s say my conquest ended in a draw.” A Nation Reborn-The Lion - Gilgamesh - 03-31-2015 Eudocia's breaths were short and heavy and a droplet of blood was leading from her forehead down to her neck. Her teeth were bared and she uttered a feral growl. Before her was a pack of hyena-like creatures and she was the only one that stood before them and the glorious home that had so willingly accepted her. The place has accepted her for who she was and didn't care for her more...beast like nature. She knew her orders and she would not let down her King! The creatures were as yellow as the sand around them with occasional brown spots. Their glistening, yellow eyes shimmering in the sunlight and their teeth in a curved smile. The snickered as the began to swarm around her, stalking her like a pack of vultures waiting to strike. A hyena leaped out and jumped onto her back, clawing it's way down and the others began to follow suit. She put up her hand and threw one of the creatures against the other and the others began to attempt of take their prey down. The claws digging into her skin forced her face into a grimace. Her clothes shredded and the pain has driven her off the edge. Her eyes grew wild and she dug her horns into a pair of the hyenas. The others were startled by the abrupt brutality and the power she demonstrated after taking so much damage. They began to back off and whimper before the pack began to flee and leave their brethren behind. Eudocia plopped down and looked at the tasty meal that had just been gored. The dust rising into her eyes and she coughed a little bit before crunching on the prey that was just a predator. Her back in great pain but she was able to get through it. "Mmmmmm the meat is quite tough but it is still delicious!" She murmured to herself, lost in thought. Maybe this thing could be my pet! she looked down at the tasty meal before her and shrugged before continuing to eat. A man in white cloth came up behind her and she turned and glared at him with blood on her mouth. She growled as if she were an animal protecting its kill. The servant jumped and rubbed his neck anxiously before continuing to give her a message. "The King has returned and he wishes for you to come see him when you have finished with your...food." His face was repulsed as he looked at the bloody remains of the carcass. Her eyes lit up at the mention of the retuning savior. Her King! She got up and rubbed the blood on her clothing. The servant couldn't help but gag before he smiled forcefully and walked away. Eudocia got up and started hustling towards the city she fought so hard to protect. She entered the ALMOST bustling city as she saw the people finally finish erecting the Town Tavern "The Vault". She waved furiously to the townspeople as they waved back to her. The Kings promises were true! People actually appreciated her and she smiled as she entered the Palace. The marble columns peering as she entered the hall and she ran into the King's room. She was expecting the conquered to return with the beast's head. She was wrong. The King was bedridden with bloody bandages and bullets placed on a tray. She rushed over to his side and panicked. "My King! I shall get revenge for you!" The King shook his head and smiled. "She is not an enemy my pet. Not anymore." A Nation In Havoc- The Barbarians - Gilgamesh - 04-06-2015 A marble room with two glass doors, their red drapes flowing into the room and the cool breeze flowing into the room. Gilgamesh was sitting in a wooden chair and a golden chalice in his hand and his legs crossed. The breeze flowed through his golden hair and he took a sip of his wine before he put one hand on his knee and pushed himself up. He casually walked over and exited the windowpane doors onto the white balcony where he oversaw his subjects and looked upon his expanding Kingdom. The King leaned upon the railing, overseeing all of the construction going on. He saw the mother and her two children, their happy smiles on their faces and their once gaunt bodies were now plump and full. They waved eagerly towards their King as the mother smiled and pushed them along. Gilgamesh couldn’t help but chuckle. Who would deny the prosperity he brought to his people? Those who followed his laws and belonged to his kingdom would prosper. Who would question his right to rule? Gilgamesh looked off into the blue sky where a white, fluffy cloud passed overhead. Peace… Peace was broken by a shrill scream and Gilgamesh’s head jolted down towards the sound. A group of men had infiltrated his city and was...they were taking his citizens captive. The gall of these worms! He ran out of the balcony and walked by the dozens of Gilgamesh painting’s and statues into the main hall. Anos was just exiting the Kitchen with a silver platter, presumably his King’s breakfast, and looked confused to the whereabouts of Gilgamesh’s destination. “My King why are you…” His voice trailed off to see Gilgamesh run past him. The giant, wooden doors swinging as he heard the King’s footsteps in the burning sand. His eyebrows were raised and he simply shrugged before walking to the entrance of the palace and shutting the doors. I can’t let my citizens go yet. They are too valuable right now! In this foreign world every follower is a treasure. I must save those so my Kingdom can flourish. Gilgamesh turned to see a group of men holding a group of Gilgamesh’s citizens the woman and her children with knives and clubs to their throats. Their faces hidden by sun bleached skulls and their canines gleaming equally as bright in the sunlight. They weren’t wearing anything but a cloth covering their barbarians and their toned skins glistening in the skin. A growl came from one of their voices as he licked his lips. “Oh boy I haven’t had a meal this close for a while. We have a full gourmet here and no primes in sight. Enjoy boys!” His rough voice grating on Gilgamesh’s ears and he came upon the rest of his citizens who were panicking at the situation. They all seemed sort of relieved when they saw Gilgamesh run up with a disgusted look on his face. The kidnappees eyes were watery and tried to call out muffled screams through the fingers of the dogs. “This one looks especially tasty.” Gilgamesh stood in front of the crowd and peered at the group of savages before announcing his presence. “You filthy mutts dare lay a hand on my citizens? You filthy beasts shall pay for your assault on my Kingdom! My word is law and you stand in the way of my rule ! Pay for your insolence and your crimes against me! A golden portal opened up before Gilgamesh and a spear began to peek out. A Mongrel walked in front of the rest of the group and had a red handprint on his skull...He was obviously older due to his reliance of a staff and his bent back. The rest of the group began to laugh as the leader waved his staff in a circle before slamming it on the ground. A black mist formed around the group and Gilgamesh launched his spear at them. The black mist volatilely expanded ,covering the entire group, as the spear landed onto the sand. They black mist disappeared and the group was gone, however their laughter lingered in the air. He walked over to the spear and picked it up, a droplet of blood dripping from the tip. Eudocia appeared out of nowhere panting, obviously having run across the city. “My King...there was a group of men here...and I was looking for you.” Gilgamesh glared at his pet and walked away from it. “My King.” Her voice dropped in sound and her eyes looked at him almost pleading for forgiveness. “You disappoint me my pet. You were supposed to protect my people...You need to stay, and make sure they do not come back for more of my people. I shall rescue my citizens from those...barbarians.” A Nation In Havoc-The Kidnapping - Gilgamesh - 04-10-2015 Gilgamesh had set off in search of these mongrels, however Gilgamesh had no inclination of where the tribe had set off too. He overheard the people speaking in frantic fear. “Was that Durango’s Tribe? Oh no! Durango’s Tribe! Oh no we have to leave! They’ll eat us all!” ”Silence! You dare doubt my qualities as a leader? I shall retrieve my citizens at all costs and if any of you DARE to retreat from my Kingdom that shall be a federal offense! Anos note down anyone who tries to leave my Kingdom. They are criminals of the state. As for this ‘Durango’...Where is he? I shall make sure he shall not cause my Kingdom any troubles.” The people cowered in the true face of their King before one person stammered. “H-he is in the m-mountains.” The King smiled as he looked North of the village and saw the large mountain landscape cover the land. The large mountain scape looked rugged and tough but Gilgamesh would stop at nothing to gain his power back. Gilgamesh nodded as he proclaimed his exit. "Farwell my loyal citizens. Your King shall ensure this place serves as a Safe Haven for all!" The King turned and he waved past his citizens as he went towards the severe mountains. He heard murmured whispers and anxious shifting as he walked off to take care of their problem. The beating sun was upon Gilgamesh, however, with the destination in sight Gilgamesh didn’t have much time to think about the heat or anything else at the matter. The sweat pouring from his forehead gave the sand below him the only droplets of liquid its had in a long time. Gilgamesh stumbled down as he paused to catch his breathe from the long walking. Despite the close appearance, the mountainscape was so far away. Gilgamesh finally feels the solid ground beneath his feet and he felt so happy that he had been completely oblivious to the large climb that was ahead of him. He looked at the gravel path that had been so perfectly laid out for him and he looked up towards the tall imminent hill that posed a challenge to him. Gilgamesh clenched his fists in anger as he knew he would have to walk up that trail. Gilgamesh plopped down on the rock trail next to him and let out a sigh He rubbed his fingers against his forehead as an idea struck him. He concentrated and the treasured thing that meant the difference between power and weakness in this world flowed out of him. The rainbow colors flashing brightly as it formed what he wanted it to be. After a several minutes the Omnilium began to take form into Gilgamesh’s treasured vehicle the Gil Gil Machine. The Golden Motorcycle stood before him and Gilgamesh began to grin as he looked at his precious baby. He got on top of his golden machine and he saw his golden key already put in the engine. He turned the baby on and he heard the engine roar to life as the machine began to sputter beneath him, ready to drive up the treacherous path. He revved the engine for a minute before it spurred to life and began to begin to move. Oh how sweet the sensation felt, the wind blowing in his air and the cold wind blowing away the sweat off his skin. He started driving up the rocky path and noted the stubbled and turns before he began his search for his people. The descent up the hill was treacherous with rough corners and tight areas, but Gilgamesh's riding skill is A+! He finally reached the upper peaks of the mountain after a treacherous journey and he noted the difference in environments. The sun was less harsh and there were more vegetation around him. He felt a cool breeze pass by as he began to slow down on his bike. He took note of the scenery around him and he couldn't help but enjoy the fact that this was al his. Everything. The scenery, the harsh desert...the mongrels that refused to obey him. He grit his teeth at the thought of the mongrels. Gilgamesh was touring the unknown when he felt the dirt beneath him become more bumpy and gravel began to pick up in the air. He looked off to the side and saw the gravel road. A sharp pain in his neck appeared suddenly and his hand shot up to his neck and pulled out a dart that was covered In a purple substance. He felt a sudden tiredness and he mumbled some gibberish before he fell into a deep sleep A Nation In Havoc-The Rescue - Gilgamesh - 04-15-2015 A flickering light pierced the veil of darkness in the depth of Gilgamesh’s sleep. Gilgamesh raised a hand lazily to cover the bright light of torches placed everywhere around him. He smelt the burning wood and saw the black smoke raise into the night sky. He looked around and noted the black iron bars around him as he realized what had just happened. He sat upright and glared all around him, a expanse of shrubbery and greens laid around him as he heard chants coming from in front of him. How dare they subject their King to conditions like this? They dare make me their prisoner! I shall show them the pleasure of being killed by such a Hero. He saw another torch flame come from beyond the distance, slowly bouncing and getting ever more closer. He saw a barbarian with a small animal pelt covering him approaching behind the shrubbery. He walked up and peered in the darkness before finding Gilgamesh in the prison and slowly strolled over to him with a stupid grin on his face. He bent over and looked at the King and seemed to inspect him for any meat on his bones before pointing at him and laughing. "How dare you laugh at me, worm! Your death shall amuse me!" The barbarian just laughed as he continued to point at Gilgamesh. His finger drawing in closer to Gilgamesh’s cheek as he glared at the large man. “If you value your life, you shall free me now and take me to your barbituistic leader.” The savage responded in laughter before talking in his heavy, booming voice. “You have have no power over me weakling!” He poked the King’s cheek and a flash of yellow light appeared and was followed by blood that streaked on Gilgamesh’s face. He watched the lifeless body slump to the ground as the sword stuck out of his chest and his face showing signs of agony and surprise. The torch fell to the ground and the flames died down to embers as the ground snuffed out the warmth and light. Gilgamesh just glared at the dead man and held out his hand before him and the warm rainbow orb came through his hand and after a few minutes of concentration a white handkerchief was in his palm. He casually wiped his face and reached out towards the dead guard. The keys were sprawled out next to the barbarians dead body and he reached out of the cage to get the keys. His arm extended and the keys were just barely in his reach before he snatched it and started sifting through the keys. He fumbled through the keys in the darkness and it took him several minutes before finding the right key and the iron gate screeched open and he stepped out into his world. He glanced at the corpse in front of him and pushed it to the side with his leg. The gravel shifting as the body moved. He looked away from the grotesque body and looked towards the straightforward path before him and the torches lighting the way. This must be the path to the heathens and mongrels. They shall suffer for this. The King walked down the road looking for the mongrels. Drums echoed in the distance and a giant wave of mist was started to swallow Gilgamesh.. The steady beat pounded in his heart and helped instil a sense of looming fear over him. How could this beat make a King be anxious? Maybe it was the help of the mist or possibly the faint chanting in the distance but it was certainly unnerving. Gilgamesh turning in closer to the noise and found himself at the base of the village with not much in sight. The white fog preventing any actual depth in his sight and was limited to the gravel on the floor and the wooden huts that lay on the base. He continued to follow the sound until he heard them around the corner. He walked out and started his path towards the cannibals before he saw a group of them playing drums and dancing around a fire with his citizens tied to sticks waiting to be cooked. The apparent King of Barbarians sat on a throne of skulls and the stench was unbearable. The Chief has black feathers in his headdress and he had a obsidian spear that had a twinge of red. How dare these barbarians force him to come to his citizens need! The gall of these savages! “Hello you pathetic fools! Cower before me and kneel if you wish to keep your lives. My citizens shall be released this very moment!” The drummers and dancers stopped immediately as the Chieftain of the barbaric group stood up and brushed past the savage dancers. As it came closer he saw the the black war paint on his face and as the creature grinned it showed his sharpened, gleaming teeth. Its face came close to Gilgamesh’s as it peered into his eyes and licked his lips. “You do not fear me, fake Chief King? I am Durango! Stand before me and fear my tribe or else you shall be eaten!” The Chief laughed and brought up his spear before Gilgamesh and he thrusted it at the King. Gilgamesh jumped back at the thread and glared down the Chief and pulled out a sword from the golden portal. Gilgamesh smiled and his eyes widened a bit with insanity. “Maybe toying with you shall relieve me of my boredom.” The King dashed forward and slashed downwards and the chief barely blocked in time and let out a grunt as the pressure of the sword began to make his arms tremble. The dancers in the back gasped and began to rush forward to help the chieftain. “No! Stay back! I’ll take care of this meal MYSELF!” He growled as he shoved the King off and he began to chant in a foreign language. His eyes began to glow purple and the King laughed him off as he thrusted his sword forward. The creatures hand bolted down to the sword and grabbed it, blood trailing down from the blade and onto the floor. *SNAP* The sword broke into two and dissipated into the air and a vein bulged on Gilgamesh’s forehead. His eyes narrowed down and he backed up before the portal opened and the golden hilt came out and Gilgamesh took it out. The man was already upon him. His fist forced out and Gilgamesh flew back into a rock. The man teleported in front of him and thrust his spear before a purple barrier stopped his blow. A Golden Portal Opened up behind Gilgamesh and threw a couple of spears at the native. He managed to block all the shots but Gilgamesh had closed in and managed to stab underneath the man’s weapon in his gut. Gilgamesh eyes widened with pleasure as he felt the blade sink into the man’s skin and he heard the blood spill from his body. The satisfaction he received as he withdrew the blade and the man began to spurt out blood of his mouth as his purple eyes blinked in and out of their colorful state. The man stumbled back, eyes returning to that purple color as he readied his spear again with a sour scowl on his face. He paused for a moment and closed his eyes as he drew in a deep breath. The spear resonated with his eyes and matched the purple hew before the chief grabbed with both hands. The spear began to bubble and ripped into two new spears as the Chief pulled apart his arms. The monster went on an offensive, constantly stabbing and jabbing at the King, forcing Gilgamesh to go on the defensive. He could hardly keep up with the amount of blows. The Chief gave him back his blood laced grin as Gilgamesh struggled to evade and parry every blow. The barbarian went in to thrust with both weapons as Gilgamesh shouldered it as it grunted in pain and fell on it’s ass on the floor. The King smiled cruelly as he saw the spear’s clatter on the ground next to him and roll over to one another before it rejoined. The False King raised up his hands begging for mercy but the King did not hesitate. His blade found a place in its chest sinking in and soaking in all of the heretic blood that dared to defy him. The Beast went limp and Gilgamesh put his foot in the creature's chest and pushed it off his weapon. He wiped the blood on the beast’s face and let his treasure go back into his vault. The rest of the pack stared at Gilgamesh wild eyed before they whispered murmurs. Gilgamesh gave them a glare before standing lazily and commanding them. “Now that I have established myself, you shall run off and tell the rest of you savage tribes to leave my Kingdom alone. If anyone dares to attack my citizens again, it is you who shall be left for dead. Now run along before I change my mind.” The rest of the barbarians scrambled into the forest...hopefully to never be seen again. Gilgamesh walked over to the spear, bathing in the pool of blood and he picked it up and inspected it. “I do not believe that this treasure is in my vault. The damn thief. I am glad to reclaim another one of my possessions. He glanced over to his gagged, blindfolded, and tied up citizens. He could leave them there...would be quite convenient for his trip back. I mean the purpose was to teach the savage leader a lesson...but his people would be more loyal if he brought back his citizens. The King sat down again casually and forced the Omnilium to resummon his bike. After a few minutes the bike came back to life and Gilgamesh walked over to the held captives and took out a sword to cut them free. “My KING! You came to save us! You really are the best!” “Yes, thank you my subject. I will never abandon you. |
