Neal - Neal - 03-22-2015 Character name: Neal Character source: Original Character Character history: From Modern Day Earth, Neal was large on gaming, television and internet in general. His dependency to technology usually revolved around diving into fantasy worlds as often as he could. For most of his adolescence and especially into his adulthood, he wished he could just jump into one of these games. It seems Omni doesn't mind playing the part of fairy godmother. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://th04.deviantart.net/fs48/PRE/f/2009/211/a/9/Taylor_Jackson_Cemetery_58_by_LinzStock.jpg">http://th04.deviantart.net/fs48/PRE/f/2 ... zStock.jpg</a><!-- m --> Physical Description: Neal stands at 6'4 and weighs a whopping 155 pounds. Due to a majority of his time spent indoors, his skin is a pale fair and his hands lacks calluses from any form of repetitive work. He appears to be a run of the mill couch potato with a knack for fantasy. His only unique feature is the three inch long scar on the outside of his left shin, earned from attempting to use a sharpened katana without proper training or precaution. Otherwise, he appears normal; his hair is just beyond shoulder length and wavy. He often wears a pinstriped fedora, thus taming his hair to more or less remain "down," save for in high humidity. Frizzy hair asside, Neal also has murky blue eyes. They may not be the prettiest on most days, but at times they seem to light up with Neal's "expressive" face - which also makes him easy to read at times. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not so much. Stats: ATK:2 DEF:2 SPD:1 TEC:5 Starting Proficiencies: 2200 1000 - Ranged 600 - Remote Control 600 - Ranged Materialize Starting Powers: 400 400 - Basic Telekinesis Starting Moves: 1800 900 - Attraction - Ranged, Remote Control, Ranged Materialize - The ability to attract mass towards one's self. The user may attract in one of two ways: Radial Attraction, which pulls at all nearby matter with a radius of a quarter of the user's maximum range or Palm-Attraction, which pulls towards the hand, however it does not counterweight .Weight heavier than the user will attract the user to the targeted object. 900 - Repulsion - Ranged, Remote Control, Ranged Materialize - The ability to push an object away from one's self. The user may repel in one of two ways: Radial Repulsion, which pushes at all nearby matter with a radius of a quarter of the user's maximum range, or Palm-Repulsion, which repels from the palm, however it does not counterweight. Weight heavier than the user will lead to the user being repelled instead. I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Re: Neal - Neal - 03-25-2015 Modification of Proficiencies: New Total 3200 600 - Area Attack 400 - Area Shielding Modification of Starting Moves: 1200 300 - Radial Attraction: An attraction extending outward in a full 360 degrees. The attraction range only extends 1/4th of the maximum range of the user and pulls with only 1/2 of the user's strength. 300 - Focused Attraction: A focused cone-like attraction towards the user's palm. The move does not counterweight, meaning objects of lesser mass will move towards the user while objects of lesser mass will pull the user. 300 - Radial Repulsion: A repulsion extending outward in a full 360 degrees. The repulsion range only extends 1/4th of the maximum range of the user and pulls with only 1/2 of the user's strength. 300 - Focused Repulsion: A focused cone-like repulsion away from the user's palm. The move does not counterweight, meaning objects of lesser mass will move away the user while objects of lesser mass will push the user. Re: Neal - Atelos - 03-25-2015 Hi there and Welcome to the Omniverse! Radial Attration- I'm guessing this is to make things come towards Neal? Is it instantaneous? We usually don't do numbers as strict so if you could come up with some references of what exactly you could move with this that would be good. (If you want to keep the numbers thats fine too but still come up with some reference so that others would know what you're talking about.) Focused Attraction- Same question, Is this instantaneous? Also this would cost 600 OM for it's two uses (the pulling objects and pulling yourself to objects)-This also sounds a little strong in a fighting situation, being able to get away in such an easy fashion, if you could add some downsides that would be great. Radial Repulsion- Same comments as the first move Focused Repulsion- Same comments on the second move. Re: Neal - Neal - 03-25-2015 Radial Attraction: It would be 1/2 strength, so basically with 2 points he could pull a few tables or chairs towards himself or make it slightly harder for a person to move away. It's not instantanius, it's a held force at low power and range. Focused Attraction: The downside is that the user canNOT control to attract himself or the target, it's dependant on mass specifically. It's like tying a rope to a tree. You couldn't pull a tree, you just wind up pulling yourself closer. Radial repulsion: It'd make it hard to come close or move small objects away. It's the same s attraction essentially. Focused Repulsion: Again, similar to Attraction. However, uses such as "super jump" by pushing the ground would wind up in a fail (perhaps for humerous effect) where the jump is uncontrolled and often results in doing damage, even in non-combative situations. Re: Neal - Atelos - 03-25-2015 Alright well add that point of reference into Attraction and that'll be good. Maximum range is of your Telekinesis right? For the Repulsion and Attraction i just pictured you trying it to use it on a building to escape or use it to get a weapon or bottle or etc. That's why I made it two functions. That's also why I think it should have a downside due to it's escape possibilities during a fight. You could say either it wouldn't be practical in a combat situation or fatigue or something else that would make it more balanced. Real quick, what I meant by instantaneous was would the items be pulled almost instantaneously or would they be slowly dragged? Re: Neal - Neal - 03-25-2015 Maximum range is indeed my telekinesis range. 100 ft. So radial would be 25 feet limit. Focused is based on weight. He'd move towards objects of greater mass while objects of smaller mass would move towards him. Objects of relatively equal mass would sort of "meet in the middle." It wouldn't be too useful on trying to fully manipulate another person. He could use both hands to try and "counterweight" himself, however that would be using the power twice, once in each palm. That would of course be taxing, and the effect would not stack if used together. It would effect objects of different size based on mass. Smaller objects would move faster than large objects, up to the point where his weight and the object balances out. At that point, he would move towards the object based on his strength but not surpass his speed. If that makes sense. Re: Neal - Neal - 03-25-2015 Radial Attraction: A counterbalancing attraction that applies a pull at half the user's maximum strength in a range up to 1/4 of the user's maximum Telepathic range (Current: 25ft.) The force is applied steadily and constantly when in use. The smaller an object, the faster the object may be attracted, up to 1/2 the user's speed. Focused Attraction: An cone-shaped area of effect protruding from the palms at full range and strength of the user. The downside is the lack of counterbalancing, which means objects of greater mass can, by default, resist the effects. The user would actually be attracted to said object. Objects of equal mass will be able to resist dependent on their strength, while objects of lower mass will be pulled towards the user. The smaller an object, the faster the potential pull. Objects may reach, but not surpass the user's Speed attribute. Radial Repulsion: A counterbalancing attraction that applies a push at half the user's maximum strength in a range up to 1/4 of the user's maximum Telepathic range (Current: 25ft.) The force is applied steadily and constantly when in use. The smaller an object, the faster the object may be repelled, up to 1/2 the user's speed. Focused Repulsion: An cone-shaped area of effect protruding from the palms at full range and strength of the user. The downside is the lack of counterbalancing, which means objects of greater mass can, by default, resist the effects. The user would actually be pushed from said object. Objects of equal mass will be able to resist dependent on their strength, while objects of lower mass will be pushed from the user. The smaller an object, the faster the potential pool. Objects may reach, but not surpass the user's Speed attribute. Re: Neal - Atelos - 06-26-2015 Alright I think these moves are fine, unless another Staff member doesn't think so, your approved. Just keep in mind that numbers are more guidelines than actual hard criteria.
