You don't need Mimic. Just spend the OM. This is the Omniverse.

I think Jade nailed the series of Underverse and Void-related questions, unless anyone has follow ups.

1.) Void exits you to a random location in the verse (cannot be used to circumvent another Verse's Void Quest)
2.) Unlocking a Void gate lets you go back to it (and into the Void and the Oververse) whenever you would like

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Amaterasu - 01-27-2018

Last questions on this subject (for now), I promise!

Can you get traverse the Void to enter any of the verses that don't have a Void Gate "entrance" in them (e.g. Camelot/Coruscant)? Jeff mentioned Palpatine's bathroom, but I want to make sure.

And if someone wants to use a Void Gate that they've previously unlocked again, could they make a "travel" post about them returning to where they first found the Gate (which should obviously not be 500 words of zooming from the verse gate to the Void gate, but you get my point), or is there a reduced word count to cover?

Yes, you can. As quoted from the Void info thread:

Keep in mind that the void quest in the first place is equal parts actually finding it as much as actually traveling to it. Once you've done so, and it's in your Unlocks section, you can travel back there at any time, just like using any other gate to any other verse. Obviously, at least giving mention to the difficulty of the trek is never a bad thing, but to each their own.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Crocodile - 01-28-2018

Super Defenses can block Super Utilities and Attacks. That's fair and easy to understand. My question is: if the Attack or Utility can target multiple opponents, would they ALL need to pop a Defense, or can a single person protect everyone else by themselves? If one person can stop it, and it's an every person for themselves fight, could they choose whether to block it for everyone or only themselves?

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - The Vision - 01-29-2018

@Usopp I had an Area Defense Super Move when I first started Vision, basically a really powerful force field. It pushed out all hostiles, but kept friendly units inside. Since that was approved, the answer would be yes.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Crocodile - 01-29-2018

So, it would require an Area Defense Super Defense to protect more than yourself? That's what I'd assumed, but I wanted to be sure.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 01-29-2018

@Usopp: It depends. As long as your super defense has a way to protect others as well as yourself, you can do so. For example, a teleportation super defense (teleport yourself and a friend or two out of trouble) doesn't need area defense. There's no concrete ruling (that I know of) on set proficiencies or powers required to protect friends as well as yourself - but it would need to be reasonable. And, you should probably add something to the main move description on how you'd protect a friend with it (if it isn't obvious).

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Strazio Rockwell - 01-29-2018

See, I was always under the impression that in a graded fight aoe super moves can only target one person, regardless of their effects. In the rules it says you can step in front of a super move aimed at an ally to either absorb the blow instead or block it with your own super move. If Aoe super moves can target everyone and aoe supe defences can protect everyone that makes them strictly better than any other flavor of super moves.

I'd like an official ruling on this because I've heard a bunch of contradicting opinions.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Crocodile - 01-29-2018

I always assumed AoE were also "weaker" than single target Supers. At least Attack and Utility-wise. I don't see why you'd ever need a non-AoE Defense though. It doesn't have a range of damage or a lessening of effect if spread out. It just negates.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 01-29-2018

If you use an AoE super, the super attack damage is 'watered down' and split between the people it hits somewhat. So what Usopp said is correct.
Quote:I always assumed AoE were also "weaker" than single target Supers. At least Attack and Utility-wise.

Despite this, if I used a T2 super attack against two people, and they each used their own individual T1 super defence (each only protecting themselves), the attack would still go through (but be weakened) - two T1 defences aren't equivalent to an AoE T2 attack, even if it is split between multiple people.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Amaterasu - 01-29-2018

This may not always be the case for events and such where Super Moves equate to "hard" numbers, but in regular fights the damage you take doesn't mean that you performed worse than your opponent (otherwise we'd all be godmodding). I realize that an AoE Super being strictly "better", as it stands, than a single-target Super, seems unfair (I agree with the ones above me on this) but it doesn't have that much bearing on non-event battles, right?

Can two people split the cost of a base between them, so that they both own it, or no?

Question 21.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - James Knight - 02-01-2018

Can you use Remote Control Prof to use someone's own hand to make them punch themselves in the face?

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Daniel - 02-01-2018

No

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 02-01-2018

@Warren:
If you really want to have someone punch themselves in the face without physically forcing them to with your own hands, you have two options I can think of. There might be more, but anything else can be hashed out in the move workshop.

Option A: Get a telepathy move. This will need a drawback, but you might be able to make it possible. But remember, despite them being the one to punch themselves, the damage will still be dependent on your ATK and not theirs.

Option B: Get a telekinesis move. Ranged control isn't enough for manipulating other primes forcefully from range. You need both telekinesis and a move. Making someone punch themselves in the face with such a move might be possible, if you have a good drawback.

If you want to try either of these, or have another idea, work it out in the move workshop.

This one - do I have to push a button on this website to vote? I can't see anything obvious I'm supposed to do.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Skeletor - 02-02-2018

I haven't been able to tell. The count seems to be advancing in line with the number of votes. Imma keep an eye on it this month in particular.

It used to have a button, like the others. I figure they just changed it so that hitting the link casts the vote automatically, without asking for confirmation.
