RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 01-07-2018

@Warren:
You can introduce 'throw away' NPCs into your story like generic stormtroopers if you wish. Just remember, they have discipline. Unless they're fresh recruits (and even then, they went through training), stormtroopers aren't just gonna 'wail' on you unless they've got a reason - off duty or not (especially if they're wearing their uniform and it's obvious that they're stormtroopers to anyone watching). Some reasons might be you having a bounty or you breaking the peace. Or perhaps showing disrespect towards them or the empire.

And, it's worth keeping in mind, if this is in a public place (or anywhere with security cameras) and an actual fight breaks out - if word or proof of it would reasonably go about, you could end up with a bounty depending on how much violence stems from your character.

I know that NPC secondaries aren't supposed to give Primes tangible advantages, but I was wondering if that applied to doing information and research on their behalf, like finding dirt or possible targeting info on a bounty Prime.

I would still fulfill the word count for tracking them, but my Prime would be generally better informed about the situation.

Ya'll done did change the level rules on me while I was gone. I have a T2 Transformation with my level 5, do I have to wait to use it since the unlock is level 6 now?

I noticed that, when giving examples of Vehicles that can be summoned in the rules, hoverbikes are mentioned as something that can be summoned anywhere. Would these have any of the same restrictions as most terrestrial vehicles, such as difficulty on rough ground or whatnot?

I'm going to say yes.

I'd have to say no here, as this would allow you to kinda sidestep the Vita Compass and Enhanced Senses part of finding your foe, by just sending out groups of flunkies to scour the verse in every direction. If you kept them within the range of your sensory abilities I don't see a problem with you writing it as an extension of that, but otherwise no.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Miranda Frost - 01-09-2018

So, I've taken a break from omniverse due to very low motivation and inspiration, but am back with it semi-renewed, largely thanks to the narrative painted by the third game in the Deus Ex series, Human Revolution.

The question I have for you today has to do with the city planet, Coruscant. From the movies, I saw many didn't have the scale of augmentations and cybernetic enhancements that Miranda has, at least on the upper levels. Human revolution has the player and his/her character, Adam Jensen, delve into the morality regarding such things. Therefore I ask if it is possible such things are frowned upon or discouraged or seen as an attack on nature's order of evolution? How are such extensive augmentations viewed by the general populace and the state? At what level are these augmentations and enhancements regulated? I'm curious as Miranda will be visiting the great city to fix her growing problems with her own augmentations.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Kopaka - 01-09-2018

I think this isn't piece of hard OV canon, and more of a fluid thing based on who's telling the story.

In my own telling, augmentation is not uncommon, but people usually cover theirs up or have natural looking prosthetics.

It's not taboo or anything, but people just prefer to look like they're whole whenever possible. As for optional augmentations, I don't think they're taboo or shamed. Again, most people won't draw attention to them.

For example, Drake Oneir has two cybernetic legs, augmented eyes, and a galvanic code uplink built into his hands and left arm. Nobody looks down on him for this; it's no different than how real life people augment themselves with smartphones. The only difference is that it's not part of their body.

Right gotcha~

Sorry mods, but my form messed up again <<. Yes, this is dark's third.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Mark - 01-09-2018

Not sure what you mean by messed up but it's viewable now if that's what you meant!

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - 2B - 01-11-2018

So, what enables the primes and such to understand one another, despite the fact that we're from a billion different worlds with a billion different languages?
Is there just magical Omniphysics translation at work, or do we magically speak Omniversian, or how does that schtick work?

Question #2. What happens to the character when we swap it? Does the prime remain in Omniverse, or do they disappear, or what?

Just curious thoughts.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Kopaka - 01-11-2018

1. Omniphysics. People can speak other languages if they want to, and some secondaries only know non-english, but all Primes speak a common tongue because yes.

2. Unclear. Some remain for a short time until loose ends for them get wrapped up. Most just walk around a corner and vanish.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Amaterasu - 01-12-2018

So, I only just got the memo that you can choose this by donating:
Quote:-Lower the requirements for unlocking your third OR fourth character by one level.

Since the requirement is for my 3 characters to be at level 6, does that mean that it's sufficient for all three to be at level 5, or would I need two level 6+ and one level 5? :frog: Also, what about the 80k OM total, does that get affected at all?

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dawnika Snow - 01-13-2018

I want to reflavor a move completely, but keep it's main function. Should reapply it in the Move Approval, even though it won't affect the Omnilium cost of the move, just the aesthetics?

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 01-13-2018

@Dawnika: Send it back to move approval. Especially if it's a complete reflavour. Just reference the original move when you send in the new version.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Aaron - 01-13-2018

In the inteterest of clearing the EPD bounty board, how are we going to handle derelict characters like Thor? His last IC post was in the middle of a fight almost a year ago, so I'm not sure how to go about 'tracking' his current location.

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Handsome Jack - 01-13-2018

I think the bounty is dropped once a character has been inactive a year, or so.

Bumping the above question, and adding another one!

I've been toying with the idea of giving Malon a "Camper mobile" type of cart which has a bed, kitchen and other necessities and can drive around verses, possibly even doubling as a mobile shop. Since it's a little more than a 'four walls and a roof' shack (as said in the FAQ) would it be too big to not be a base?

RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 01-14-2018

@Ams: I don't see why not. Just four walls and a roof + wheels, basically. So your "camper mobile" is fine, as long as it's basically one small-ish room with all your stuff crammed in there. As long as it isn't huge, you're good. Not a I don't know the answer to your donation question, though.

Edit: Just remember, if you make it too big it won't be able to fit through the gates.
