RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Illidan Stormrage - 01-08-2017

I don't think there's much point anymore, unless something changes. I can just do it by myself and get wiped out. I'm mostly doing this to progress Illidan's story/recognition, so if I'm holding people up we can just cancel it.

If you'd prefer to flat-out cancel it that kinda sucks, but any chance people still wishing to assault can tag along as part of a regular SL thread? I've got actually pretty interested in doing this.

As for people on the defender's side, if you don't wanna be held up - at this point it's probably fine if you do wanna leave. Darkshire's got a massive advantage. like any SL, if it's holding you up, I wouldn't worry about people being offended or anything if you don't wanna wait anymore and just do something else. I certainly wouldn't blame you, and Darkshire will probably be fine.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Illidan Stormrage - 01-08-2017

Yeah I won't hold anyone up, but you're still welcome to come along. Really everyone but Shang Tsung could leave and it still would be a hard fight.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Strazio Rockwell - 01-08-2017

If I could be allowed to use my alt as well as Straz I'd be willing to join the attacker's side with Renji. Unfortunantly it wouldn't make much sense for me to have Strazio drop out of the defense considering a large portion of his identity is tied up in defending Darkshire.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Dave Strider - 01-08-2017

I heard there was some ass that needed kicking, I need Dave to get on more of a roll anyways. ;D ill see if I can work on dave after my next post

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Ash Williams - 01-08-2017

To be honest, I have nothing else planned to do besides to help defend the assault and participate in the new upcoming dark saga which will most likely take time to start up. So I have patience for now.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Skeletor - 01-08-2017

Then I say we go ahead and power through it! Let's write those defenders up a storm, you guys! Make the assault one that at least sends Darkshire reeling!

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Dave Strider - 01-09-2017

Dave brings broken swords for the attackers, en route now, prepare your puppet butts

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Illidan Stormrage - 01-10-2017

All right, so I'd like to get this started. How do people feel about this weekend?

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Okor - 01-10-2017

I should be good.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Kelly MacAryn - 01-10-2017

I'm good to go. We should still figure out what we're going to do mechanically about the two armies though.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Ash Williams - 01-10-2017

I'm good too about this weekend.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Revan Noctis - 01-11-2017

Pretty much good just gotta quickly run over there lol

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Dave Strider - 01-11-2017

should be good to go this weekend too

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - ElFailzalot - 01-11-2017

Also, a note for everyone involved: make sure your rosters are all up to date and accurate before the fight officially gets underway. If only for courtesy to your writing partners/people you're beating the fuck out of.

Have a nice day, now. :frogpipe:

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Kelly MacAryn - 01-12-2017

So, I know there was a Discord chat at one point (which I was unable to join due to tech-related shenanigans). Did we ever figure out what rules we're going to be using for this?

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Ash Williams - 01-12-2017

Doesn't look like we have yet on discord.

RE: Assault on Darkshire - Discussion - Sarah Kerrigan - 01-12-2017

so, depending on how go Illidan is (As well as you people)
The plan Kerrigan proposed was that forces would first go attack the Primary outposts around Darkshire - Mines, military outposts, nearby villages - and try and see if they can't divide the defenders up. the attacks are being slowed on purpose to allow for a chance of saving people, and the force counts there would be rather low.
I've yet to get an answer IC, but OOC, that gives us a good chance to start fights with those so morally inclined to rush out and fight. before the siege, that would probably be a good place for old-fashioned PvP to happen amidst a warzone... Though if everyone were to leave Darkshire, odds are the forces'd just rush in on the place while the primes are away.

So long story short, if we're still trying to figure it out by the weekend, that bit can work as a "Part 1" for some primes (Those too morally inclined to protect the innocent to simply make use of the pragmatism given by the walls) to engage the Trio of Terror, while we figure out the details.
Unless you guys just really wanna skip to our dooms at the walls :<

It doesn't outright say it but i don't think there are many locations like. Probably standard to have peasants fall back to the city and gear up for siege mentality. I don't think the commanders would risk dividing their forces until they'd beaten back the main assault. The logistics of this are a bit tricky.

Assuming Darkshire's relatively medieval and not fully self-sustaining, they'd have outlying lands, and some people would generally be too stubborn, would be the idea.
The commanders aren't really what's intended to be drawn out - the aim is to mess with the less "regular" forces - I.E certain primes, what with their flagrant independence and in some cases, strong moral codes - as well as secondaries that aren't acting under or outright defying orders. Taking advantage of the fact that everything in the Omniverse isn't quite organized.
Besides which, How ready is the general Darkshire public, at this point? As far as I understood it, particularly going off of Ash's post, only the military even knows of the threat now, and they probably haven't known for very long. If the townspeople are still relatively oblivious, then I can't imagine the refugees have started piling in.

Edit: should be noted, if we're going by the earlier 30k People in darkshire, you'd need somewhat over 150 miles of farmland to support that population. Unless darkshire's a lot smaller than we thought, or Omniphysics has made basic necessities a lot easier (Something I haven't seen very much so far), Darkshire's probably got a lot of rural area it has to be exploiting.
