Re: Updates - Proto Man - 07-16-2015

The Tangled Green and Pale Moors Info Threads have been updated:

Tangled Green: Ambrosia has been added as a sub-zone, Status has been brought up-to-date

Pale Moors: Menzoberranzan has been added as a sub-zone, with Triel Baenre added to the NPCs list and Timeline. The Black Gate has also been added as a sub-zone. The status has also been updated.

As an aside, Ganondorf's Fortress was added to the Endless Dunes. I have to speak with Gilgamesh before he is likewise added.

edit: I updated the Frozen Fields info thread to reflect leaders of settlements and a few other details that were included in last years' Troll and Dwarf Patch.

Re: Updates - Omni - 07-17-2015

The items page has been updated to reflect where bases may be built. In addition the note "may not be added to Underverse bases" has been added to the teleporter and Dataverse base upgrades (I figure some crazy people might still want the option of building a base in the Underverse despite all the demons and difficulties).

Re: Updates - Proto Man - 07-18-2015

A new subzone/contested zone has been added to the Frozen Fields.

A faction quest has been added to the Ashen Steppes. I made it a while back and apparently forgot to add it. MAI BAD.

Re: Updates - Proto Man - 07-21-2015

The Vasty Deep Information thread has been updated - http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=48

Costa del Sol's description has been expanded to add a little more detail about a nice little tropical city, along with some additional details on the Imperial Navy.

I also added in the two faction quests (for the Imperial Navy and Cinnibar Island) that, like the Ashen Steppes quest, were made a while ago and I guess I just f**ked up adding them in. Anyone interested in other factions in the Deep (Rapture, Liberation Front, etc) can reach out to me or in the 'Request a Story' thread.

Re: Updates - Omni - 07-26-2015

Strazio Rockwell has been added to the staff members. He's shown a lot of enthusiasm, activity and respect for the rules and I'm looking forward to seeing how he works out as a staff member. What I've seen thus far gives me a good feeling.

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-01-2015

As part of my ongoing effort to keep updates rolling along at a slick pace, we now have a third trainee staffer joining us in the form of Mickey Mouse/Daenaerys/Daneares/Danearys. Everybody be nice!!!

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-21-2015

Some fairly big updates today. I've rolled most of the moves guide/FAQ that I've been working on for the last couple of months into the moves page itself.

All of the proficiencies listed on the powers page now have links to move examples that use that proficiency. That should make it easier to reference things like Remote Control that previously had no good examples for how it can be used to create original 'kinesis' powers.

Additionally some of the proficiencies have had notes added for common misunderstandings, notably the buff proficiency.

The moves page has seen the biggest overhaul in general, and in addition to the above notes and some slight tweaks in the balancing section, there are now obviously several more examples linked to from the proficiencies page. Several of these moves are stolen from members, which is probably a good thing because it showcases some different writing styles that still display all the necessary information in moves.

As always, please let me know via the typos topic in the help desk if you find any errors or typos.

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-21-2015

A new consumable item has been added, the Warp Whistle!

Warp Whistle – 2000 OM
A one-use item that allows a single user to travel to any location they have previously visited. This may be used during fights but only before judgement has been posted.

Additionally the duration on the Starman has been increased from 10 to 30 seconds.

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-23-2015

The regeneration, healing and telekinesis powers have been updated to better delimit what they are capable of without purchasing moves or expending SP.

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-23-2015

The cost of time manipulation has been lowered from 1800 to 800 OM. Adam Gaite, Caira Ayryn, Nealapph and Magus have had their rosters updated and now have 1000 extra free OM.

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-24-2015

Burst Movement and Super Speed have been given the update treatment. Mostly for clarity.

Re: Updates - Omni - 08-30-2015

Adding some examples to the move approval checklist to show people what we are asking for.

"• *Is it instantaneous, or quick to use? Or is it slow?* (Almost instantaneous? A moment? Several seconds? Longer? Be specific.)
• Once activated, how fast does it travel? (Fast as a thrown ball or slower? Arrow? Bullet?)"

Re: Updates - Omni - 09-02-2015

Updated the rules to make it clear that when you do something bounty-worthy like killing soldiers in broad daylight you should post on the Bounty board to let us know.

Re: Updates - Omni - 09-02-2015

I made the requirements to find the Oververse from the Void significantly harder, to make it a bit more frustrating as it should be. Supposed to feel like a labyrinth, 300 words/2000 words was a bit low. I also changed 1-4 to 1-6.

Re: Updates - Cloud Strife - 09-06-2015

Just as an attempt to keep the move approval thread from becoming to cluttered with moves that need to be worked on, I added a link to Omni's OP that suggests going to the Move Creation Workshop thread before trying to get moves approved. Here

Re: Updates - Omni - 09-13-2015

Survival description updated:

"<em>Surviving in zero-oxygen and low-pressure areas such as space is considered a roleplaying fodder power and does NOT require Survival, though this will not protect you from, for example, poison clouds from other players.</em>"

Re: Updates - Omni - 09-23-2015

The bonus approval topic should now also be used for your quest turn-ins.

Re: Updates - Omni - 09-25-2015

Change in About the World ---> Vehicles:

Quote:Another strange fact is that certain vehicles can only be summoned in certain verses. In almost any verse, it is possible to summon horses and other living mounts, and small vehicles like motorcycles and hoverbikes. It's also possible almost anywhere to summon simple vehicles like wind-powered boats, horse-pulled carts and sand skiffs, although these usually cannot be transported between verses simply due to being too big to fit through gates, and are usually extracted by Primes once their purpose is fulfilled. In Coruscant and the Dataverse alone, for unknown reasons, it is possible to summon much faster bikes which can fly, as well as flying cars and transports. In Camelot alone it is possible to summon griffons, pegasi and other much faster flying creatures - likely due to the abundance of ambient magic. Stronger Primes are able to overcome this limitation in the case of vehicles or mounts which are tied directly to themselves (see Assists) though this requires a greater degree of power and cannot be sustained indefinitely.

Re: Updates - Minato Namikaze - 10-06-2015

The Move Creation Workshop is for refining moves before going to get them approved. I would also like to stress that it is not, and never has been, a thread run by mods. It's purpose was for the entire Omniverse Community to help out in.

Re: Updates - Omni - 10-07-2015

Re-specified that communicators and mobile Dataverse devices cannot be used from the void or Oververse.
