RE: Omni-Tier - Soldier 75 - 04-15-2016 I might change my land if I can't figure out how it's going to correspond to my quest, or if I can't come up with a reasonable enough environment to describe it. I'm open to any advice. RE: Omni-Tier - Leonardo Watch - 04-15-2016 Well, i offer myself to help people with their quests, as it seems everyone wants to have theirs now Because whats better than waste my time and get consumed by the Homsetuck worldbuilding once again? The classpect system is amazing and i'll gladly dig into it again for this And for now, a little tip: aspects tend to be both literal and symbolic, so if you can't find something to do with the literal part of an aspect (lets say, Life as a representation of the "living"), maybe you should look at it from a metaphoric angle (Life as the driving force to continue against all odds). Breath is easier to think in a literal way (Breath as air and wind) instead of symbolic (Breath as direction in life without letting anyone chain you) RE: Omni-Tier - Erik Vrell - 04-15-2016 Could I get a little help with mine please. I wrote a little about it I the last page. RE: Omni-Tier - scarletFlight - 04-15-2016 Okay before I actually fit my quest to the world, what does the Genisis Frog actually do? Land of Trees and Tombs: a happy place filled with pretty plants covering graves. Princes are destructive classes, and tend to act like their opposites, in your case it'll be the Doom aspect. Life is about growth and going against all odds to fullfil one's objectives. Doom on the other hand is about rules, limits and, on a literal sense, death. So, your character would be someone who impose his own rules over others, destroying their optimism about doing what he considers to be impossible or wrong. He'll have a dominating nature, and wouldn't hesitate to crush anyone who steps outside his own rules. Princes tend to be a little too... overbearing. They get in other people's way and demand things from them, most of the time without anyones consent. They don't do it out of malice, in fact, they can be very good friends with others, but they don't have a very good idea of other people's boundaries, and the Prince will step on without asking anyone. So, their quest is about learning to limit this nature, and canalize it where is needed. Instead of crushing your teammates dreams, a mature Prince of Life will crush his enemies dreams and boundaries, both in the literal sense and mtaphoric, destroying their creations and will to live. So, about the quest for your planet, i think something to do with cutting branches and vines out of a giant tree who is eating the entire planet would work. This tree is like the Yggdrasil, the source of life for this land, but it's getting too out of line. Your mission will be to stop it, but don't completly destroy it, or else everything will die. You can make it so your consorts are worried how the plants are eating their graves, and so destroying the memories of their loved ones, as a symbol of both Life and Doom Hope this helps, and mostly i hope i'm not getting into the mods way or anything.... RE: Omni-Tier - Erik Vrell - 04-15-2016 Wow, that's pretty good. Thanks! I'm open to any advice. I was thinking of something cool like maybe your land is a bunch of tall metallic trees with mystical walk-in portals linking them together, each containing a small treehouse that is home to a consort family. Glowing lanterns are strung from each balcony, alongside clotheslines, windstreamers, and other miscellaneous decorations that add a little color to the place. Far below them lies a treacherous landscape made up of deep ravines oozing strange mists and which pulse with an inner luminescence, which is why your land's inhabitants have chosen to live so high up. They fear that the mists are harmful, as all organic plant matter near to the ground dies. The land is in a perpetual twilight; the sound of windchimes carries only faintly from one treehome to another. Your denizen resides deep within the planet and is asleep, so all is peaceful. Yet lately, an insidious (probably foul-smelling/carrying sickness) fog has gathered that makes it very unpleasant to get around, upsetting your land's inhabitants as the mists from down below rise! It is up to you to find a way to create a fresh breeze that will duck and weave between the trees dotting the planet, blowing away that terrible air! (Maybe utlizing the portals and some mechanical device to do so!) RE: Omni-Tier - Soldier 75 - 04-15-2016 Oh wow. That sounds amazing Jade. I've been distracted the last few weeks, with the school year dra Imy to a close, and I have been attempting to squeeze out ideas, but they ar few and far in-between. Barring some unforeseen inspiration, this is probably what I'll stick with. RE: Omni-Tier - Chloe Price - 04-15-2016 I can't see the Land of Sun and Fire(LoSaF) going well. I am guessing that things will indeed be on fire. RE: Omni-Tier - Jade Harley - 04-15-2016 (04-15-2016, 10:23 PM)Joker Wrote: I can't see the Land of Sun and Fire(LoSaF) going well. Maybe! Perhaps your land will just be very bright with many pedestals from which contained flames burn, or maybe it will have something like a star at its center, warming the planet to scorching hot temperatures and setting things on fire! Anything, really, that fits the name! As a Witch of Light, this would likely be to your benefit. Would you like a quest suggestion? RE: Omni-Tier - Chloe Price - 04-15-2016 Sure, a quest idea sounds good. The pedestal idea also seems pretty good. I like that one. That's how the Land of Sun and Fire will be. The Genesis Frog is exactly that— the patron of all frogs, and the origin of the new universe the Space player will seek to create. Each one is unique, and so is the way in which your player will seek to light the Forge to produce change in your land. @Joker: Your planet is desolate and indescribably hot— it is a land of cream-colored temples and pillars, their hallowed halls ringing with echoing footsteps and illuminated by torchlight. These areas of respite from the heat are few and far between, and so your planet's inhabitants feud endlessly over them by way of gambling. The primary item used in this gambling is typically food— a certain kind of scarab, birthed from the innumerable amount of flame-filled dais scattered across your land. While they glitter like jewels, their insides are liquidy, sweet, and refreshing, offering welcome relief from dehydration. There is a source of water, but it is jealously guarded by your fearsome denizen in a temple at the land's heart. It is your quest to find a way to get this much-needed resource for your consorts, whether that be through slaying your denizen, solving a clever riddle, or just a well-placed bet. RE: Omni-Tier - Chloe Price - 04-15-2016 That seems perfect for the Land of Sun and Fire. This is gonna be FUN. RE: Omni-Tier - scarletFlight - 04-15-2016 So basically my quest would be to light the Forge, which my denzins worship as some technological Artefact, they know that it is a forge, but they have not found a way to light it. What they think the lighting symbolizes, is celestial enlightenment for everyone. My planet is a very advanced one, that has no war, and promotes creativity and arts of all kinds, but a new more war like group is rising, so not only do I have to light the forge, I must also protect the peace loving denzins of my planet. (pls help) RE: Omni-Tier - Chloe Price - 04-16-2016 ...I actually have no idea what the 'denizens' in Homestuck are, and what 'your' denizen refers to. Could it just be anyone/anything? RE: Omni-Tier - scarletFlight - 04-16-2016 The denizen is the leader of the inhabitants of your planet. I was using it wrong in my post RE: Omni-Tier - Dell Conagher - 04-16-2016 If anyone wants to take a stab at mine that would be awesome. Mine is the Land of Glass and Night, with me being the Seer of Void. Since you're the Seer of Void, you could do something like using special pieces of glass broken off from special areas of your planet (or something to that effect) to create a giant construct of some sort. Could be a telescope, or a magnifying glass, or a mirror, or whatever you'd like really, as long as it involves glass and sight. This special looking device could help you divine or seek something in the impenetrable darkness, like a constellation or another planet or a celestial body or i dunno, its totally up to you. Just an idea. I'm trying to be vague so that you can yaknow fill in the blanks for yourself and whatnot. The way that this links to your aspect could be having to realize that there is always something even within nothing, if that makes sense. If anybody else would like to take a crack at this'n, feel free, I'm just tossing out ideas. @John: And nah John, keep doing you, we really appreciate the assistance, trust me heheh. RE: Omni-Tier - Chloe Price - 04-16-2016 Oh. Okay, then. RE: Omni-Tier - Sans - 04-16-2016 (04-15-2016, 04:45 PM)Sans Wrote: (Note: May change depending on if it is even possible to do.) Although I think the Land and Quest is fine, I could use a second opinion and maybe other suggestions just in case it doesn't fit. |
