RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Alex - 10-26-2017

Unless O-Man feels otherwise, we're gonna go with the standard rule of Enhanced Senses vs Suppression (if Suppression is a thing that the other person has; if they don't, we can just operate under the assumption that someone with Enhanced Senses can analyze a video feed and realize that something is 'off' with what their seeing).

However, no where does this state that you can tell what the individual normally looks like. You'd only be able to realize that they are disguised in some manner.

http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=66&pid=118117#pid118117 Regarding this update, do you want me to retcon my post?

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Ebonywood Hellscythe - 10-26-2017

@The Rogue: You probably should. I don't know if you have to, but you definitely should, imo. Either way, you're gonna be a high priority target. Maybe talk to Dawn about it since it's unlikely you'll be able to lose her trailing you.

If a Prime knew that secondaries weren't the original versions of those people but were just copies and also had a vivid enough imagination, would it be possible for them to custom-design a secondary?
That is, to summon a person who never actually existed in any reality until the Prime thought them up?

Yes, I had two completely custom secondaries.

Just remember that your prime wouldn't know this information. They could make assumptions after a while, but you'd never be 100% sure unless you actually went to Omni (IC).

My character won't know this until someone tells him. My idea was to have him meet a Prime who has been here a while and has messed around with the summoning mechanic as much as possible to discover just how much it can really do.

I'm not sure why it would require a meeting with Omni in order to know something that could easily be determined through trial and error...?

What he means is that the specific knowledge bit of "Secondaries are copies of their originals" is not something anyone outside of Omni would know IC. You're bordering on meta-gaming if you give your Prime that information without seeking an audience with Omni first.

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Dawnika Snow - 10-26-2017

Would the guards of Tier 1 take hostility to a woman loaded with weapons even if she yielded to them? If so, would they opt to escort her?

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Mark - 10-26-2017

As long as you're not causing trouble and don't have a bounty on your head, no issues.

Oh, right, I see. So if your character successfully was able to summon two or more copies of the same person then they might assume they're all copies, or they might think that the first one is real and only those that came after were fakes, but they wouldn't know for sure without asking Omni, is that what you're meaning?

Because the actual business of finding out that they can summon additional ones can easily be determined through trial and error... Schwi Dola actually had asked recently what would happen if she tried to summon an extra copy of her secondary in order to check if the first was still alive and was told that she'd just end up with two of the same person.
And if she would be allowed to do that without meeting Omni then it makes sense that others could too.

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Oleander - 10-27-2017

This is perhaps the dumbest question ever... but imagine someone with Foresight playing a game... would they be able to use their Danger Sense? XD Would I be able to tell if a sniper has me in their sights in a console game? (Not entering the Dataverse, which would be different.)

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Ebonywood Hellscythe - 10-27-2017

@Stein: That is arguably just fodder. So, yeah. You probably could use foresight like that (unless you're playing something complicated like chess, or your opponent has suppression).

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Ash - 10-27-2017

How would I go about purchasing something for my NPC-Prime?

I currently just want a Communicator+Dataverse Device (admittedly i should have had that on the list before)
But eventually I will want to add to his move list.

Re-submit the updated character sheet to the NPC One Stop Shop. You can find your approved NPC Prime in the PC Primes List!

Is there a way to regain Consumed OM to make it useable again, or is it permanently lost?

If anyone figures out a way I can get back all the money for all the pizzas I've bought and eaten over the years, tell me.

otherwise no

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Oleander - 10-30-2017

What is the extent to which a Prime with Telepathy and all appropriate proficiencies, can actively control another person, and how difficult would it be?

Follow up question, would controlling a Secondary be any easier?

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Amaterasu - 10-30-2017

Question regarding alt forms: if a Prime buys and uses an Alt Form that also changes their appearance, would someone with Enhanced Senses (or other Power?) be able to see past a "disguise" as they would for a Shapeshift-using Prime?

RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Ebonywood Hellscythe - 10-30-2017

A secondary in a personal storyline? Go for it. It'll probably be very hard though, and you'll need high TEC.

A NPC prime, or a stronger secondary? It'll be even harder, and only smaller things can be done. And if they're a site NPC or one belonging to someone else you'll need permission or something.

A PC character? Discuss that between the two of you.

For anything advanced, you're going to need a move though. Without a move, you're basically just planting ideas into someone's mind and influencing their thoughts to get them to do what you want, and it'll likely wear off.
