RE: The OmniCon - Yu Kanda - 05-14-2018

Depending on what's least expensive, you could look into flying near me (Bradley, JFK, LaGuardia, or Westchester airports in New York/Connecticut), flying near Trixie (not sure what airports are closest to him but they'd be in Ohio), flying right into West Virginia (also not sure about closest airports, best to check a map and use Davis, West Virginia as the address), or flying to Illinois near Strazio (probably O'Hare airport but check with him).

Any of those options will get you close enough to be picked up by someone so you can catch a ride to and from the event.

Thank you for this info, i will do some research!

JFK and LaGuardia are going to be the cheapest option 99% of the time, just keep in mind I'll be heading down to the place on a Friday afternoon and I could be at either airport* around 2-2:30pm.

I'd love to meet my Omni-brothers and sisters.

I'd prefer somewhere on the east coast of America, because that makes it the easier for me. Also, I'd assume it would make things easier for our Euro-siblings.

Yep, right now we're planning on West Virginia, right near the Virginia border.  Sweet place at a ski town in the mountains.

RE: The OmniCon - Trixie - 05-14-2018

Columbus International Airport or CMH is the big one near me.

RE: The OmniCon - Mickey Mouse - 05-14-2018

I might not be able to ~stay the night~ that week but I can definitely try and swing thru

RE: The OmniCon - Spur - 05-14-2018

Pretty neat idea, and I'd like to come if I can, but I can't promise right away due to work schedule being pretty packed during the summer.

I'd be coming from the south if I made it up there, and I'd offer to drive for a few of our Georgia boys since that's an easy pickup for me, and help with the gas would be awesome. Give it a few more years and I might manage to have the slice of land to host the thing, but that'll have to wait until OmniCon 4 or 5.

Other than putting some miles on my truck, I can pitch in for cheap alcohol and mixers, plus I could cook like a massive chicken bog on day one to get us through the weekend with minimal food concerns. More of a lunch thing than a supper thing, where we might want to do something a little nicer, but I could easily fill the fridge with leftovers and still send some home with people afterwards for really cheap. Good to grill burgers or whatever else budget permits at night.

I'll check my schedule!

EDIT: This is assuming I don't despise you all after DA ends.

RE: The OmniCon - Mark - 05-14-2018

West Virginia in August actually sounds extremely doable for me. So I'm in, just gotta let work know as soon as we're totally sure this is gonna happen and isn't just 90% hype.

EDIT: Also I don't mind throwing in extra cash to get some other friendly friends involved!

RE: The OmniCon - Yu Kanda - 05-15-2018

It's under review @ work. Will let you know asap

That would be awesome. Wouldn't expect any $$$ from you in that case!

Well you'll certainly despise me if we run into each other during DA, but if we can squash the beef it'd be great to have you. Just try to confirm ASAP as I'm going to have to book the place sooner rather than later.

With you, me, Trixie, Strazio, Drake, and Alex that makes six. I'm willing to book if we can hit the threshold of eight definite attendees. Let's see what the next couple days bring.

Further to all this, Mark can you post in the RSVP thread so I can keep you in the head count?  And Spur do the same when/if you can confirm?

RE: The OmniCon - Wyatt the Swift - 05-15-2018

Fuck it i can save up the money from my job this summer. The only problem now is getting there and back. School starts for me on the 27th so I would be down for the 2 day extravaganza. I live in Pittsburgh, PA so im not too far.

If you're in Pittsburgh, it's only a three-ish hour drive for you.  If you need a ride I'd coordinate with Trixie as he offered to do a carpool and that shouldn't be too far out of his way.

RE: The OmniCon - PepsiWhirda - 05-16-2018

Bump

RE: The OmniCon - Trixie - 05-16-2018

I swear I replied to this. Yes I can go kidnap Wyatt. No problem.

RE: The OmniCon - PepsiWhirda - 05-16-2018

Yep, just bumping for visibility!

RE: The OmniCon - Blink - 05-18-2018

Vi and I wouldn't know if I'm available until early August when chief results come out. If I make rank (get promoted) this year, then I'll be too busy doing initiation. If I don't then I'm sure we'd be willing to do a long drive for it.

I don't think we'll be able to factor that into our booking decisions.  Everything will be fully booked if I wait till early August to make a decision.  As long as we get eight definites I'll be booking a place that sleeps 12, though, so there's a good chance there'll be plenty of room in any case.
