RE: Quick Questions II - Thor - 11-19-2016

If you want an alternate form that changes your appearance do you need shape-shifting?

If you want an alternate form as in the thing for 2000 OM that lets you change your stats, as far as I know you don't need shapeshifting (of course, you'll be limited to only that form, and your main one).

If you want to change your appearance without changing your stats you can purchase Shapeshifting instead.

What is your stance on "secret identities"?

Would people be able to elude bounties by using a secret identity? (This is assuming they're not in places with the technology to just check and see who they actually are, i.e. Coruscant.)

RE: Quick Questions II - Mark - 11-21-2016

Nope. Even in places like Camelot there'd be some way of the authorities knowing who you are, whether it be magic or something similar.

RE: Quick Questions II - Kyle Crane - 11-21-2016

Following up on my last one, could I get Suppression and use that to aide the masquerade as a way to make it work? For further explanation;

My alt is going to be a masked supervillain. What if I make it to where he has a device to apply Suppression built into his "secret identity" ensemble? Could see myself working such a device into the plot. Wearing the device would be activating Suppression, taking it off would be de-activating it.

I mean you're free to use Suppression to do stuff in personal storylines but it's always based on TEC. Anyone who would want you dead/captured would have flunkies that could see through it. Otherwise it would kinda break the canon a bit.

RE: Quick Questions II - Celestia - 11-21-2016

I have a question about healing. I'm looking to get a healing move, but I'm struggling to figure out how that works mechanically. The only thing I can find is the healing power, but that seems to be more of a healing factor than really what I'm thinking of. I'm hoping for something along the lines of medical knowledge or healing spells, that would let someone heal another's wounds through specialized knowledge along with concentrated effort. I can't find any relevant proficiencies. Are healing abilities of this sort allowed? Is there a relevant proficiency? Is there an out-of-combat only option?

The Healing power would be required in order to have healing moves.

The proficiencies could all be relevant dependent upon how you want to heal someone. For example, Steven Universe's "Healing Spit" move manipulates the Healing power so that it may be used at range, so he needs the Ranged Proficiency.

Quote:Healing Spit: (Ranged Proficiency, Healing) Steven's saliva carries his healing powers within it. While he typically licks his hand and places it on people to heal them, he can also... spit on them from a distance to use his powers. All effects under the Healing Power which would normally only be able to be used by touching someone can be used at range by Steven.
Agnès Oblige also had some moves that utilized Healing.

Quote:Cure (300)
Uses Ranged, Healing, Homing
The user selects a target and, by focusing on that target specifically, mitigates damage. While it takes a fair amount of time to fully heal injuries, it numbs the pain (RP fodder), allowing for at least the illusion of recovering until wounds can be completely healed, which is unlikely in battle. Wounds that Cure is working on have an opaque light green glow to them which fades to translucent, then transparent and then disappears as progress is made towards healing. Single-targeted. Cannot be self-targeted (Used on Agnès). Only works on a target directly visible to the user. In order to actually make any real impact, sustained focus on healing with Cure for a long time is required. Cannot perform other actions while using Cure (Using Angel's Bow, fighting hand-to-hand, casting buffs, moving, etc).

Tier 1 Utility Super Move: Cura (600)
Uses Ranged, Healing, Homing
Essentially a powered-up version of Cure. Instead of healing gradually, the user immediately heals a target's less serious wounds superficially (+1 HP for 1 SP) while providing a faint boost to natural regeneration beneath the skin (RP fodder). It also numbs the pain of any injuries the target has sustained (RP fodder), allowing them to carry on while appearing somewhat uninjured. Regenerated injuries flash light green and then disappear instead of gradually glowing opaque, then translucent, et cetera.

RE: Quick Questions II - Chloe Price - 11-22-2016

So, I have an idea for a move.

Eobard has an ability in the show to create an afterimage - a Speed Mirage, if you will - of himself. For Omniverse purposes, it would exist separately from Eobard, and would be controlled independently; However, it cannot physically interact with the outside world, and is purely for distraction and deception purposes; it would be a useless effort to use the move in combat, as one hit would make it fade away, it cannot hit back, and Eobard is completely vulnerable while creating the Speed Mirage.

Would this require a move? A Utility Super Move, perhaps? Or would it be able to be considered RP fodder, as it has no use in combat?

RE: Quick Questions II - Amaterasu - 11-22-2016

Demetri has a pair of illusion based moves, actually. I recommend that you take a look at Deception and Split Tactics, in this post in his roster: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=2527&pid=27713#pid27713

Maybe that will help? If you're unsure, try the Move creation workshop.

RE: Quick Questions II - Beta Ray Bill - 11-22-2016

Would DC and Marvel characters remember Marvel vs DC in OV

RE: Quick Questions II - Jade Harley - 11-22-2016

It depends on which canon or what history they were taken from.

RE: Quick Questions II - The Rogue - 11-28-2016

Would it be feasible to have a bounty placed on Aegis because of a look alike?

The factions have some form of making out who's who, so a mistakenly placed bounty would be cleared up pretty fast. If you just want a bounty though you could probably request one because Aegis was set up in some way?

RE: Quick Questions II - Marisa Kirisame - 11-28-2016

So I am wondering where I should put backstory IC for Chara and if I can do it while doing another thread.

You mean you want to explain a bit about Chara's background? You could write that into your Roster.

If you want to do an extended flashback, here's from the General FAQ:
Quote:Q35: I want to do an extended flashback. Is this allowed and if so, where do I post it?

A: You may do extended flashbacks either in your character's current location, the Astral Verse, or in the relevant verse forum. If an entire topic takes place in the past, it must be CLEARLY MARKED as a flashback in the topic title. This prevents people from getting misled if they are pursuing your character IC. You may write about past stories from your character's own universe if you so desire in the Astral Verse.

RE: Quick Questions II - The Rogue - 11-28-2016

Does the SPD stat affect free fall moves or is that normal physics?

RE: Quick Questions II - Daniel - 11-28-2016

SPD stat wont effect any movement that your character does not have control over.

RE: Quick Questions II - Illidan Stormrage - 12-02-2016

If Jim is in his marine suit and lost a hand at the wrist, technically he wouldn't lose his real hand as the mechanical hand is a short distance from his real one. However would Jim need to have Survival or Regeneration in order for that to make sense game wise?

If I'm not mistaken you'd need Survival, since changing between alt forms carries over the injuries incurred. Advanced Regeneration and SP usage would allow you to reattach the limb.
