Hideaki Yajima Wrote:You could probably throw or knock someone into it, or grab them and slam their face against it. If it really is an impenetrable magical wall then that's sure to hurt. Probably not much more than a regular wall, or tree or block of ice or cliff face or any other solid enough object that you could find in any other verse, but still ... there's probably nothing stopping you from using it as such. Like Desco said, using the environment is good RPing.
The environment that's been described in the initial post describing the area is the terrain we're trying to insensitivize people to use. The wall is like hitting a super firm mattress: not comfortable but it's also not a brick wall.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Proto Man - 10-13-2015

People are really hung up over this barrier thing.

I think Bandit said it when he mentioned it would be like hitting a firm mattress. It won't create violent, extreme backlash or like, ricochet stuff. It an attack hits it, said attack would just fizzle out. As Bandit said, the terrain is where the emphasis is, not creating some sort of pinball effect.

I apologize if that wasn't clear originally... I hadn't expected it to be something people focused so heavily on.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Kopaka - 10-13-2015

People are trying to think outside of an impenetrable box. What ya gonna do?

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Gildarts - 10-13-2015

*nervous*

Magus your sign-up post was really cool

Blame the hunger games. Everyone wanted to pull a 'Haymitch Abernathy' on the barrier. xD

Aw, thanks, Gillie.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Schwi Dola - 10-13-2015

Mmm, the blast would still encompass the entire arena and without the funneling effect the energy is more likely to hit Mami and destroy the terrain. Even without the focusing effect restricting the blast would have it is supposed to be pretty strong, and getting caught in it would not be good. On the other hand, as long as Desco isn't centered in the arena the blast won't cover it entirely.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Bandit With No Name - 10-13-2015

Yo Adam! Did you kill Ballad or let him live??

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Proto Man - 10-13-2015

He let him live.

Apologies (BWNN and Wakka) - Ruby Rose - 10-14-2015

I have two apologies to make here,

1. I apologize to Sinbad (you know who you are) for not including my word count in-post. It is 748 words.

2. I also apologize to my opponent, Wakka, for not having Ruby take a hit. As I roleplayed Wakka being slightly clueless, I decided to keep that going for the first post and have his moves be somewhat half-assed. In my next post she will take hits, though.

Sorry to both of you sincerely.
~ Ruby

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Bandit With No Name - 10-14-2015

I don't mind!

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Schwi Dola - 10-14-2015

I did not and don't seen mention in the tournament rules about posting word counts.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Proto Man - 10-14-2015

It's not a hard rule.

It's just something that people are doing as a courtesy to judges.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Schwi Dola - 10-14-2015

As they like I guess. It would be superfluous, as the judge would have to check it whether the poster listed a word count or not. Tongue

Yeah, I've been checkin'. nbd either way

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Alain the Carnedge - 10-14-2015

Should it be assumed that there's shields in the Colosseum? Because blah blah technically shields aren't weapons blah blah. Basically, better to be sure.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Schwi Dola - 10-14-2015

In proper medieval combat a shield is as much a weapon as the sword you wield. Swords block, as Shields do. Shield attack, as Swords do.

I already assumed so in my post. I hope I wasn't wrong ^^;

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Bandit With No Name - 10-14-2015

Yeah, just a vague ensemble of medieval shit. A shield should be fine.

Re: Colosseum Tournament - Schwi Dola - 10-14-2015

I also assumed that Mami's gun could tear through it like tin foil and discarded it and the sword I picked up immediately Tongue after deflecting one bullet.
