RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Handsome Jack - 06-21-2017 If it ain't a "OMG I gotta write this guy, right meow!" Thing, then just wait til they get to it. I guarantee you they see it. If you're anxious, 48 hours is the minimum. But give em some time. DA and Dark Data are both in full-swing and the staff have a lot on their plate. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Dane Regan - 06-21-2017 Quote:Feel free to bump your topic when you've finished working on it, or if it's been over 48 hours and nobody has responded. From the HOW TO JOIN thread. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Jack Darby - 06-22-2017 What proficiencies/prerequisites would be needed for Corridors of Darkness? RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Gaston - 06-22-2017 Guessing you mean from Kingdom Hearts. In that case, it'd definitely need Teleportation, probably Ranged Control, definitely Ranged. Depends what you're using it for, really. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Jack Darby - 06-22-2017 Travel, Storage, RP flavor things for Repliku once I'm switched. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Gaston - 06-22-2017 Okay, then, assuming you want it to also be ranged portals for movement: Teleportation, Ranged, Ranged Materialisation, and everything Guu's Stomach of Holding needs. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - The Future Warrior - 06-22-2017 (06-22-2017, 07:09 PM)Warren Zimmer Wrote: Travel, Storage, RP flavor things for Repliku once I'm switched. For the basic function, all you'd need is teleportation. Keep in mind, they'd still be limited by the maximum range of Teleportation you have purchased. Other Ideas: -- buy a base. Buy Teleporters. Buy a Recall Station. Flavor it as Corridors of Darkness. -- Warp whistle. If you ever buy/use any, it's a corridor of darkness. -- Isolation Verse. Corridor of Darkness drops you and your opponent in nondescript realm of darkness spot #496 Get creative. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Illidan Stormrage - 06-23-2017 This question makes me feel really dumb, but I've had trouble getting my head around the Item - Spent OM update, to the point that I won't buy any Items because I'm afraid I'll do it wrong. Could someone show me a quick example of how I buy an Item and how I record that in my roster? RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Amaterasu - 06-23-2017 (06-23-2017, 07:16 AM)Illidan Stormrage Wrote: This question makes me feel really dumb, but I've had trouble getting my head around the Item - Spent OM update, to the point that I won't buy any Items because I'm afraid I'll do it wrong. Quote from the Updates thread, for reference: Quote:Unlike other purchases, the spent OM for items goes straight to your Consumed OM. You'll buy the items as usual and add them to your roster, but leave off the associated bracket costs () and instead add the total to your total Consumed and total Spent OM. And unlike other purchases, all items can be traded and given freely. This allows you to buy items for others, or pool your OM for purchases, such as in the case of bases and upgrades. For instance, you purchase a 250 OM Banishment Circle. Your character has 4000 Spent OM. Your purchase log would say current post count, earned OM, spent OM etc, then: Buying: Banishment Circle (250) New Spent OM: 4250 In your roster you then have a "Items" tab, into which you add a "Banishment Circle" (note the lack of an associated cost), and a "Consumed OM" tab with a number (let's say 1000) to which you add 250 (for a total of 1250, obvs). Your Consumed OM doesn't go down when you use the item or gift it to someone else! In a correct roster, the sum of your Powers/Profs/Moves etc. plus the Consumed OM should sum up to your Spent OM. Thank you. I had read the topic but for some reason it just didn't make sense to me (definitely on my side). So now all items OM (including permanent items like a Communicator) are just stored in Consumed OM? As in, the Items line on the roster just lists the items and not the total OM? Eg. Items: Communicator, Dataverse Thingy Consumed OM (300): ? RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Beta Ray Bill - 06-24-2017 Would it be possible to make a where someone like Doom could possess another being for a short amount of time? RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Handsome Jack - 06-24-2017 Short answer: yes. Long answer: requires either OOC permission or a defeated opponent, a minimum T2 Super Move, Fusion and Symbiosis, and heavy downsides. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Daniel - 06-24-2017 (06-24-2017, 12:59 AM)Dr. Doom Wrote: Would it be possible to make a where someone like Doom could possess another being for a short amount of time? The only way you could do this is if you have symbiosis and the other player agrees to it. If it's just for your own personal stories (that don't involve Site NPCs) then just Symbiosis would be required. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Trixie - 06-24-2017 Nevermind. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Amaterasu - 06-25-2017 I think it can be agreed that most Pokemon are "generic" characters (e.g. "wild Psyduck" rather than "Misty's Psyduck"). What about legendary Pokemon though - would they be considered generic, or unique enough to be restricted to characters from the Pokemon canon? RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Handsome Jack - 06-25-2017 Probably unique, since via Pokemon Canon, there is only one of each in the universe. Hence Mewtwo being an NPC. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Mark - 06-25-2017 @Illidan Yes, that looks correct. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Oleander - 06-25-2017 If I want to "reflavor" a move, does it need reapproval, or the selling of said move to buy it again? So that we're not being so vague, I'll just show exactly what I'm asking here: Quote:Takezo has trained to aim for exposed major and minor arteries. As such, a victim of his blade is left with a bleeding wound, dealing extra damage to the wounded target for a few seconds before the bleeding stops. Repeated slashes add accumulative damage. The damage over time is mild, and the duration for each cut is no more than three seconds. This is the second paragraph of the move "Katana." Simply put, it trades burst damage for DoT. What I want to replace it with basically spells it out and adds a historic flavor to it. Quote:Sharōkatto: Translating literally to "Shallow Cut," this sword technique was popularized by far-traveled Samurai who witnessed the act of Lingchi. Lingchi translates to "Death by a Thousand Cuts." It was used as a form of torture and execution in China. Sharōkatto is a technique based off of Lingchi that uses shallow cuts to inflict a few seconds of bleed damage. However, it avoids major arteries and the use of excessive strength. The lighter blows means faster strikes, which allowed the swordsman to land more cuts on their target. It is essentially the same thing. It turns "Katana" into a "fodder" move and uses Sharōkatto as the actual damage-dealing move. I'm wanting to change it because later I'd like to make Dīpukatto, which is "Deep cut." As a bonus question, does the flavor text seem different enough that I should sell then rebuild the move entirely? Or is the original move salvageable? Note: Thanks to Cell for pointing out the flaw in the original, it inspired me to take the time to research and rewrite a much better flavor text and accurate description. Moved to seperate thread. RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Omni - 06-26-2017 That doesn't even sound like a move, tbh, just using light attacks as opposed to heavy ones. I think. But looking at your moves, that's just part of the katana description and half-flavour anyway. I'd be fine with it. Thanks for checking with us. =) RE: Quick Questions (please read the OP) - Blink - 06-26-2017 I'm going to do an NPC story based on Battle Royale / PLAYERUNKNOWN'S Battlegrounds. It has nothing to do with Blink. What forum would this best be suited for? The Dataverse? Any regular verse in which the game is actually happening? I've never done a non-PC thread before
