They had a 1 TB for $75 as well, which is a pretty good deal. I just don't have that money to spend...

The 40 dollar harddrive was on clearance... and it was gone when I went to purchase it. Ended up paying 60 bucks for 500 GB. Seems like my laptop is working better now, so hopefully this fix is it.

Re: Woe is I - Ganondorf - 08-26-2014

Good news: The hard drive seems to have fixed the previous problem.

Bad news: My screen is now cracked. Have a peacock of black spots on the right side of the screen and the cracks go just about to the left side. Fortunately, I have an HDMI port on this thing, so even if the screen craps out on me, I'll still be able to utilize my laptop. Unfortunately, playing games via the laptop alone is no longer possible. Also, screens are freaking expensive. This is what I get for leaving my laptop on the floor with twin toddlers running around.

In related computer stuff, today I will, after a week or so's prep, finally be swapping out my hard drive. I've got all my data copied to an external, but it might be a little while til I'm fully back up to speed. Getting everything reinstalled, a lot of which I rely on to edit the site, is gonna be a bitch, but hopefully won't be that difficult since I've taken so many preparations. Assuming the hard drive installation goes smoothly *fingers crossed*

In "my screen" related news: the cracks have begun to make it to the far end of the screen. While no new black spots have made an appearance, some of the one's already here have either changed shape or size. A few other places of dead pixels as well, but nothing too bad on those. Just worried about the day when the entire screen goes.
