Re: Day 1 Morning - Mickey Mouse - 02-08-2016 Some people had no sense of gratitude whatsoever. “Listen, if you don’t want to listen to Teucer’s advice, that’s on you, pal,” Mickey huffed, watching helplessly as Belle stomped away from him. His insistence on her donning armor of the kind Play, Boy suggested clearly perturbed her. But Mickey remained resilient—if they wanted to defeat the big bad guys and get the spirit’s relics back before everyone else, they had to listen to his advice, right? “Mickey, she’s not wearing anything!” Belle screeched at him, spinning back to look at him. Her face had now flushed completely red. “Jesus Christ. Mickey Mouse is telling me to strip down right now. Who’d have thought?” Clearly bewildered, the girl stared the mouse down for a few moments. She waited for Mickey to form a response, though the former King knew that practically nothing he could say would be enough to convince her to follow his advice. Play, Boy had taught him that; there were plenty of segments describing the stubborn, impossible demeanors of human women in general. The mouse had experienced this quite a bit, actually. Throughout his travels with Erza in Dante’s Abyss, he had come to know two sides of her: the side that was his friend, and another side that even he, in all his expertise with angry women, couldn’t contend with. Minnie Mouse could whip herself into a rage, but it paled in comparison to the valiant fury that Erza could muster up at any moment. Certainly, it had helped them in the competition, but Mickey had always been wary that he would be on the receiving end—and how unfortunate would that have been for the tiny, unsuspecting mouse? Now, he feared the same was about to happen with Belle. She had already released her fury on that dumb-looking guy after he’d shot her. What terror could she have in store for the former King, if he happened to awaken the monster within her like their extremely-overdressed opponent had managed to so quickly? Finally, she sighed and stomped back over to where he stood, confusedly flipping through the pages of his survival guide. “Mickey,” she started, “Mickey, look, gimme that—” “No,” he protested, unusually attached to the book, “It’s mine. Teucer gave it to me! He gave you that pink metal thingy!” Mickey hugged the tome tightly to his chest, turning away from his new companion. Her cheeks began to redden again, but this time the mouse suspected it wasn’t because of embarrassment (though that reaction had puzzled him anyway) and instead because of fury. She reached for the magazine and managed to grab ahold of it, and before seconds, the two strange-looking pals had begun quite the violent match of tug-of-war over it. “Give it to me!” “No, it’s mine!” “Mickey, I SWEAR TO GOD—” Riiiiiip! “Ooof!” The mouse’s butt landed squarely on the grass. Just a few feet away, Belle also lay sprawled on the ground, her hand clutching a crumpled up page of Play, Boy that she had managed to accidentally rip out. Mickey’s fur grew hot. Now, it was his turn to get angry. “You tore a page out!” he squealed, lunging for it and snatching it from her pale hand. He quickly unfurled it and began to scan the words to see if it was essential. Meanwhile, Belle groaned in agony. “Owwww,” she exhaled. The tug-of-war had done a number on her injured arm, opening the wound up again ever so slightly. For the briefest moment, Mickey considered not helping her since she’d been so rude as to try and take his gift away from him. Then, he remembered who the heck he was. “Lemme see,” the mouse surrendered, straightening out the torn page and making his way over to the redhead. “Lucky you, the page you ripped out has instructions for this exact situation.” He said this with a degree of righteousness in his squeaky little voice. Belle scrunched her brow. “…it does?” she replied, incredulously. “Yep,” he smirked. He snuggled up next to his new friend, gently grabbing her arm and laying it across his lap. “Okay,” he breathed, glancing over at Play, Boy, “…gently lubricate the opening…” “Ughhhh.” Re: Day 1 Morning - Jak Mar - 02-08-2016 Jak's anger was finally beginning to subside after meeting a old competitor named Dante. It was good to see him again... well for a short time. He actually started to miss Daxter's loud annoying voice bothering him. At least he could bring some much needed humor in the situation. Two competitions... both involved killing each other senselessly for Omni or someone else's entertainment. It was sickening to put it lightly however that did nothing to calm Jak as he carried sticks of dynamite and killed two unlucky bastards. He couldn't exactly call it self-defense considering everyone was out to kill him and everyone else. Dante's Abyss it was called. Where the Rise of Dynamite Kid started and people cheered every time he killed another. He died at the end of a shovel by a certain deadpool in mercy, he respawned. It hurt. He shuddered, that title didn't in fact suit him at all as he recalled another competition he would have to kill another senselessly named Dante, the one he would come to fight with instead of against. His dark side had appeared causing damage to the devil hunter in competition but Dante had spared his life, he was unconscious but at least he wasn't dead. The defeat of Dynamite kid, had caused a lot of booing to happen and fans were unhappy. Jak grumbled, that's why he'd rather not remember the title. The Spirit at least didn't send the eco warrior on his own without a weapon. Once Jak finally stopped thinking about past events, he eyed his object. He leaned down and picked up the rather strange item and Jak slid the weapon on his back. Hopefully the weapon would serve him well. The sights and sounds of the area he was around had blue skies but it was reasonable weather for now. The scenery was quite nice though. The knife eared man squeezed his fists, Teucer would get his stolen armor back no matter what. No matter what they called him, mercenary, hero, anti-hero, who even cared anymore. He couldn't even tell his own alignment anymore. Jak kept walking, taking in the sights but kept cautious for various threats. Re: Day 1 Morning - Jak Mar - 02-08-2016 Hello darkness my old friend... A pulsing feeling ran through Jak's body. The feeling of dark eco pumping through the man's veins. One very loud scratching in Jak's head. One very strange quiet angel like creature holding Jak together. Jak... Jak... are you listening..?! "JAK!" Jak, damnit, listen to me. The gruff hero replied in his head "WHAT?" The dark beast replied "Heh, thought you'd never respond" Jak wiped his forehead a bit and groaned.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've come to talk with you again It gave Jak a slight second to pause and take a breath before he kept walking. Jak wished he hadn't kept his full wastelander gear on while walking. The weather was very unpredictable. But at least it was too silent for right now. Jak bent down and rubbed the dirt off the ground where he was at. Nothing. Re: Day 1 Morning - Enzo Matrix - 02-08-2016 Matrix had forced himself to do the unthinkable and offer a partnership with a virus. Just the words leaving his mouth felt disgusting. In the moment, he would have much rather taken his chances in a brawl in that temple. Instead, he had summoned every drop of inner strength he had and forced himself to make the concession for the bigger objective. Some good that had done him, because shortly after he'd made the offer everyone had been whisked away. Now, the green sprite stood in a grassy plain, and the situation was the exact same as it had been upon his arrival in the Omniverse. He was alone. It was a strange feeling. Even though he'd been ripped from his home as a child and been forced to grow up in a twisted, horrible, ever-changing reality, he'd never been by himself. The two beings that meant the most to him had been alongside him every step of the way, just like they had here in the Omniverse. They'd celebrated every victory and suffered through every loss together. Matrix never appreciated how it had kept him sane until right now. For all the horrible things he'd seen and experienced, going through it with those he trusted kept him from descending into something terrible. Now, he had breached his core moral principles for absolutely nothing. For now, Matrix could really only grumble and roll his eyes. He looked down to his right hip to see his promised weapon sitting in the magnetic holster that was typically reserved for his gun, and pursed his lips as the frustration billowed up once again. This spirit was able to grab warriors from all over the Omniverse, but it clearly had skimped on the armaments. "That's just..." Matrix looked up and around the empty area, with little idea of where to go. He hadn't been given much in the way of instructions other than a generic 'help me.' He was going to have to make up the rest of this on his own. "...Alphanumeric." After letting out a heavy sigh, Matrix decided to see what would work for him. The heads up display in his cybernetic eye wasn't even telling him whether this was actually a game or not. Instead, the word "Offline" appeared in the top of his vision. Fortunately, it was out of the way and wouldn't interfere with his vision, but he certainly wouldn't be able to forget it, either. Since this was going so well, he brought two fingers to his chest and double tapped his black and gold icon. Deep down, he hoped the ability to download useful skills, knowledge, and weapons somehow existed here. "Reboot!" Matrix announced to nothing, like he had done a thousand times before. Except this time nothing happened. Dejected, he dropped his hand back to his side. His own world might have been unfair and unjust, but at least there was some semblance of order to the basic workings of it. Here, he seemed to be at the mercy of whatever omnipotent being had abducted him at that particular point in time. Matrix just placed his hands on his hips, and brushed aside his musings about how far south this had gone. If he was going to get out of here, he'd need to stay in the moment. Slowly, he turned in a full circle and observed the area around him as he tried to decide which way to go. One way looked somewhat peaceful and serene, while another route appeared to be fairly dangerous. Common sense told him that if the relics were easy to reach, someone would have done this awhile ago. So he began to trudge on in the least appealing direction. Even if common sense told anyone to take the path of least resistance, Matrix knew that the greatest treasures usually lay in the path of most resistance. Re: Day 1 Morning - Clownpiece - 02-08-2016 Having a giant hole open up in the ground beneath him, under normal circumstances, would have thrown Somerled for a loop. Of course, since that’s how basically everyone seemed to operate here in this shithole of trials and tribulations, that little flair no longer surprised him. It didn’t make him any more prepared, however, and just like what happened every other time he was randomly teleported around, his back was thrown against the ground and the breath forced from his lungs. There, in the middle of a seemingly untouched forest, the monster lay. For the few moments he decided to remain there, catching his breath, he listened to the gentle rustling of the leaves swaying around in the canopy above. The sounds of the light wind punctuated by the brief songs of birds and other small fuzzy creatures. “Let’s see here...” Somerled mumbled to himself, not yet having the motivation to get up. Around him, massive brown trunks jutted magnificently into the sky above, topped with thick green leaves that all but blotted out the sky. Mumbling incoherently to himself, the weather spirit slowly rolled onto his stomach and wrapped his hand around a rolled-up rope of brown something or other. Forests provided the perfect cover for apparitions stalking the night. With the right ambiance, they were downright spooky. Of course, the leafy monoliths that tended to make up said forests also just loved to block absolute destructive wind and hail. These trees obviously hadn’t seen a tornado in centuries, and now with their monopoly over the space here, they likely wouldn’t for a long time. “Welp,” the monster said rather abruptly, pushing himself to his feet with the same suddenness. “Can’t get an exact read here.” He lazily spun around, studying the general area he had landed in. Reading the weather was difficult when there was no weather to read. The stagnant forest air only muttered useless events to him. He knew it was warm, he knew it was fairly humid, the wind was just right. There were no whisperings of tumultuous currents, colliding masses, none of those events which were most fun to read. “Alright, my worryingly silent other half,” he spoke, refusing to temper his voice. If someone happened to overhear him, it was their problem, not his. “I’ll try not to fuck this up for us.” Casting his gaze downwards, Somerled allowed his new-found weapon to unfurl. With most of its impressive length coming to a rest on the ground, the monster’s mouth turned up in a cruel grin. This weapon, being a good few feet longer than he was tall, would be an instrument of absolute pain when coupled with his monstrous strength. Upon giving an experimental crack, a familiar, inspiring tune began emanating out of nowhere. “Oh fuck the hell yes!” His already-toothy grin only grew wider. This weapon would be absolutely perfect for some motivated ass-kicking. After quickly rolling it back up, the music mysteriously fading away, he strapped the weapon to his hip, where he’d be able to whip it out at a moment’s notice. Chuckling at himself, the spirit spun in a random direction and began walking. With essentially no notable landmarks around save for the overabundance of trees, the only real way to make any progress, or so Somerled thought, would be to pick a direction and start walking. “I’m sure you’ve seen what I’ve seen,” the forest floor crunched beneath his shoes. “The relic that Teucer will give away...” he trailed off, brushing aside the thick undergrowth in an attempt to keep his footing. “We could be one person again.” After climbing onto a massive fallen tree in his path, the monster came to a halt, and gave a quick look behind him. As expected, it was as unremarkable as the path in every other direction. There was nearly no indication that he had come this way, unless one happened to be very skilled at tracking. Which meant that if he were to get doubled around somehow in his traipsing about, he wouldn’t know. Giving a half-hearted sigh, Somerled hopped back down off the felled trunk, and continued in the direction he had chosen. It wasn’t something he probably had to worry about, unless this forest was much more massive than originally anticipated, but it was still slightly annoying. Endless greenery as far as the eye could see, which wasn’t very far at all, and no way to tell you hadn’t just crossed your path. If night were to fall and the scenery still hadn’t changed, then he’d start marking his path or something. Until then, he’d just walk. Re: Day 1 Morning - Simon - 02-08-2016 Once he had finished beating himself over the head for acting over 40 years younger than he should, Dante began the trek to the city. As it were, the trip proved to long and rocky, and while the mercenary wished for a ride, any attempt to do so was met with a strict mental block, as if Omni were powerless here. A strange thought, for sure, but then again that only served to build upon the unique concept of the Omniverse itself. So, would that cancel the whole thing out into normality? Sure, let's go with that. Dumb, boring reality. At least that would explain the bouts of fatigue the hardy half-blood was getting from this hike. It had taken just under 2 hours just to get to one of the defining landmarks he had spotted earlier: an area where the raised bluffs began to abruptly taper off, as the landmass itself indented like a short-falling canal. By that point, Dante endeavored to at least revel in one bout of certainty- that at least this stint couldn't be more boring that this current moment in time. Time passed further, and still Dante kept on plodding, sweat beginning to line the inside of his boots. The exposure to the shore offered some solstice to the almost tropical climate, but not enough to stave it off entirely. Exhaustion was still a while away, but it would take just that long until the hunter could even reach the outskirts of the old city on foot. The whole experience might have been more bearable if there were anything else to even see. The stonework ruins were too far away to pick out any details, and the only major buildings even partially standing were farther in yet. Otherwise, the immediate terrain remained about the same bumpy heights, slowly dropping down to the basin the former civilization lay in. Just so flippin' boring. Dante groaned for what had to be the umpteenth time (had he bothered to be keeping track) and rolled out his left shoulder again. The hunk of cardboard remained perched there, held up with the lazy claw grip jabbed through one of the carrying holes. Why am I even still carrying this damn thing?! The Son of Sparda complained, and yet never thought to discard it. Re: Day 1 Morning - The Spirit - 02-08-2016 AMBUSH BIG DADDY VS COLONEL You hear a soft humming come closer to you as you see a little girl coming around with two bracers looking as if they will fall off any moment. Her skin is deathly pale and seems to have a cruel smile permanently placed upon her lips. She makes eye contact with you and lets out a blood curdling scream. “Mr. Bubbles! Get the bad guy!” From out of nowhere you see a lumbering heap of bloodstained and twisted metal running straight at you. A low and deep rumbling comes from inside the suit as the diving suit makes an impact with you. The Big Daddy’s body carries you forward and pins you into a tree, the blow forcing the air out of your lungs. You fall to the ground gasping for air as the sound of whirring blades begins to wind up. Your eyes widen in panic as the spinning drill begins it's descent for your stomach. You barely manage to duck out of the drills way as it tears into the tree, throwing large splinters everywhere. A large crack sounds behind you as the large tree begins it's descent. You quickly run out of the way and are now in between the duo. One little girl with the Hero’s Bracers and the guardian with a deadly weapon. Quote: Colonel is now engaged in a challenge and can no longer post EXCEPT with a response to the Challenge. Colonel has 24 hours to respond to the challenge OR to PM the spirit that he does not wish to respond. Since this is an ambush, if Colonel misses the posting time he will not be penalized. Before Colonel responds I would recommend to toggle Sparing if you wish to do so. Re: Day 1 Morning - Proto Man - 02-08-2016 Mickey wouldn’t approve of the word choice, but Proto Man couldn’t deny the simple observation he’d made over the last few hours… People here are assholes. There was nearly three dozen primes milling around the temple, and a vast majority of them had been confrontational from the get-go. The spirit, trapped as he was in whatever strange state he’d been placed in, had been forced to deal with their suspicions, accusations, and insults from the moment they arrived. Was it that hard for them to believe that someone needed their help? Was it that hard for them to sacrifice a little bit of their time to lend someone a hand? Proto Man scowled and shook his head. These same people would probably lash out against the world if no one would lend them any of their time when they were down on their luck. Those thoughts swirled in the robot’s head as he relaxed against the column. The woman from the Underverse—Trixie—seemed nice, but if that was the case, what had she done to wind up in the Omniverse’s maximum security prison? Who had she murdered or cheated or double-crossed? Before he could raise the issue with the redheaded woman, Proto Man felt a strange sensation wash over him. All across his screen, a couple dozen warning messages popped up, but he had far too little time to process any of them before everything went black. ***
The darkness lasted for only a few moments before the robot hit the water. With a gasp, he snapped back into consciousness to find himself bobbing up and down in low tide. Despite his limbs being more unresponsive than he would have liked, Proto Man managed to kick and pull himself toward the sand-coated shore of the island. When he sank his gauntleted fingers into solid earth, he let out a sigh of relief and crumpled down as gentle waves washed over his back. After a few moments of lying on the beach, Proto Man tried to toggle his information overlay. Even if there was no wifi here, he could still start a datalog about this new environment. With any luck, he might be able to triangulate at least part of his surroundings once he found a higher broadcast point. …or at least he wanted to do that. Water must have scrambled my systems. The thought brought a scowl to Proto Man’s face as he pulled his knees up under his body and lifted his head. After scanning the white beach, he placed a hand into the sand and scowled at the slimy damp sensation that enveloped his hand. Along with the strange sensation, he started to feel a mild numbness in the limb, much like he had in his legs before he’d pulled them up out of the water-logged sand. Water had always felt slimy, but Proto Man didn’t recall it muddling with his wiring or environmental sensors to such a drastic extent. Much to his mounting frustration, his internal display was empty. Actually it wasn’t empty—it was just nonexistent. No temperature readout. No indication of time. No indication of elevation. Proto Man wasn’t sure where he’d been dropped, but he felt… Nervous? Re: Day 1 Morning - Moon - 02-08-2016 Quote:Before the fight... That was... well. Not exactly what he'd been expecting. He'd pretty much just fallen from the sky, like a goddamn bomb, and almost stabbed himself on the knife he fell with. For some reason, it seemed almost comical. The knife looked like it was ripped straight out of a cartoon, and while that wasn't exactly unwelcome, it was unnerving. The ominous clouds didn't really help the mood a whole lot, either. The sky was already beginning to glow with the light of the uprising sun, proving useful to everyone. This included his enemies, however. "Damn it all. Where even am I?" he thought aloud. A map would be fabulous. But all he had was this cruddy old cartoon knife. Well, hey. At least he wasn't stuck with a map but no tools, right? That's when he heard it. Quote:Afterwards... All that he felt was a numb yet burning sensation in his chest. Not good. Plus, well, he had to defend himself. Though he wasn't there, this was starting to feel like the Abyss. Survival, fighting, starter weapon? Yep, certainly a joyful day for all, and a slick throwback to an event he wasn't present for. A quick exhale from his arm, a jet of either steam or smoke as the engine cooled, startled him from his thoughts. Right, he was still walking. It was one bitch of a time, all this. Tedious at best. The lack of feeling only soured it further, but also... Sweetened it. Now, he wasn't a chicken expert, but that was a Chinese thing, not Omniversian. Re: Day 1 Morning - Victor Wolfe - 02-08-2016 Victor sighed, not once but twice had the ground opened up beneath his feet today. He wondered if the spirit did it on purpose or if making you feel like the pits of the underworld where trying to take you was the only way he could transport people around. Looking at his surroundings Victor was reminded of the Abyss, all the killing, back stabbing, the blood, all for a chance to gain a magical artefact. “HAHAHA" Victor laughed manically in excitement. "Oh this is going to be fun, so many potential targets, and a few of them are on my list of high priority targets, I need to thank that spirit for gathering them all here. Hopefully I get to see at least one or two of them die. Besides I have only gotten stronger since the abyss. All my new powers are sure to help me make this an entertaining time." Victor laughed sadistically. He gathered himself coughing, hoping no one had seen that small break in his normally calm demeanour. "Well it’s probably best to avoid getting involved in large fights right away, I will bite my time, let others do the hard part for me, and if I spot a chance, I will strike and gut whoever is in my way!" Victor reached down to grab one of his daggers, noticing a distinct lack of precious family heirloom at his waist. “Damn it! I better get those back by the time this is finished or that spirit is going to wish he was... dead, Damn it!" Victor argued with himself. “It OK, this is no real problem, from what I remember from the abyss there is likely to be a replacement weapon, let’s just hope it’s better than that damn stick I got last time, maybe it will be another banishment serum and I can end that damn knife eared mercenary" Victor giggled at the prospect looking around for a weapon. "Where is it?" He questioned not seeing anything that looked remotely weapon like. "Please don't tell me that this is a hand to hand combat event? I believe the spirit did say he would provide a weapon? Maybe he took my questioning his intentions to heart." sighing the assassin noticed a lone tree, the leaves all dead. "Maybe I should climb it and get by bearings, perhaps see if any of my potential allies are close." As he looked up at the tree he noticed something caught in the branches, his weapon he assumed looking at it. "No problem" Victor thought to himself "all I need to do is jump and then use my acrobatics to climb it , no problem" bracing himself the assassin got ready to bounce up and grab a branch ten meters above him. He pounced, only to stop at about a foot in the air. "Oh, we damn it, looks like I have lost my power to jump great heights. This is reminding me more and more of the abyss, I better be cautious, for some reason I have a suspicion that my regeneration is going to be useful on this island. A shiver of fear ran down his back, any injury that happened hear would most likely be staying with him for a while. Victor carefully started climbing the tree taking his time to check his footing and working towards the top testing each branch before putting his full weight on it, a fall could be horrible for his chances. Adrenaline rushed through him at the excitement and fear of possible death, unlike in his own world life here was never boring. With one last grunt he made it to the top grabbing his future weapon, the edge was sharp and if used properly would make a great replacement for his blades " I think this will do nicely for gutting my potential enemies" Victor smirked. Feeling the wind in his hair was nice cooling the light levels of sweat from the climb, before he could get to relaxed he spotted something in the distance that caught his attention. "Well things just keep getting more and more interesting, Let’s see how this turns out Victor laughed as he climbed down the tree, running towards what had caught his attention from the top of the tree. Re: Day 1 Morning - Amaterasu - 02-08-2016 Amaterasu turned her head to listen to the spirit and gasped as the black hole opened beneath her feet, teleporting her away. Again? At least this time it didn't take nearly as long. She blinked as she found herself... well, not too far from the temple, she could still see it, and there were likely others in her vicinity. She frowned, actually having expected to be able to leave with Somerled and make their way together. How could they... She looked back and forth, trying to find any waypoint besides the temple. There was thick forest, which she had to get away from, and the temple was in that direction... okay, first leave the forest. She began to walk, listening to the sounds, or rather the absence thereof, in this place. It was strange, actually. Awfully quiet. The forest was too quiet, it was... well, dead.Well, the trees did feel alive, but she couldn't hear any birds. Upon closer inspection she found tracks and saw that there were berries growing, so it wasn't really dead. Maybe overly quiet, that was all. After walking for a while, she spotted a figure in the distance and, upon getting closer, found that it was Somerled! What a stroke of luck! Throwing caution to the wind for right now, she accelerated her steps. If it was a trick played on her mind by the warlock, it was sure working out. "Somerled! It's Amaterasu, over here!" she yelled loudly, not caring if anyone else might hear this. She waved her hand through the air. When Somerled in return noticed her, they walked towards each other and Amaterasu briefly looked around before speaking. "I don't know if staying near the temple is a good idea now that everyone is still nearby. We should head elsewhere." "Where would that be?" Amaterasu pointed north. "There's some big mountain there... maybe a Guardian is hiding out around that location?" She wondered if anyone had the same idea as her. A big landmark like that was bound to attract attention. "I wouldn't want to stray too far from the temple either, in case that someone finds the relics and returns them." But for now, she began to walk. They could always worry later on. Somerled simply followed after. "You haven't told me by the way... do you wish to compete for the big prize? To take the relics and be the winner?" She asked him. "Or are you just in it to help Hero Teucer?" Re: Day 1 Morning - Dave Strider - 02-08-2016 The sensation of being weightless and darkness engulfing everything was thrust upon the Alpha Stigma again as he suddenly lay on the floor of a vast field of trees, staring up into the sky through the mess of a canopy with the towers of wood. He felt curiously refreshed, as if he just woken up from an afternoon nap. "These guys need to really quit it with the random summoning, I feel like I don't even know which way is up." It took a few minutes for the Alpha Stigma to muster of the energy to lift himself from his comfortable position in the grass and assess his surroundings. The cool breeze caused his blue and white cloak to sway, his brown hair ruffling in the wind and going across his eyes. There were a lot of trees. Trees here. Trees there. Oh look another tree. How surprising. "Well, I'm as long as I will ever be, so might as well just pick a direction and get moving," Ryner sighed as he tried to stand, before rolling onto a bright red object next to him. "What the heck is this?" He examined the item, bright red in color with a chamber and a trigger. It had a large opening, where Ryner could see a single shot prepared for him. Upon closer inspection he could read a small warning label, something about not firing at anyone and aiming it into the sky as a signal. It was to shoot something called a "flare". Wondering if it had any other use, the Alpha Stigma tried to scan it using his cursed eyes, but only came up with a headache. For some reason he couldn't use his abilities. Maybe is was from the curse this guy is in. Either way, this could probably be helpful in signalling those guys he met before the Spirit sent them off. The Alpha stigma aimed it upwards, struggling to find a wide opening in the canopy before realizing something else. Whatever this thing shoots is probably going to attract more than just a few possible friends, whatever enemies are close by, or even other prime that would see him as a threat, would come rushing over to put an end to him. If he were to go berserk because of it... wait, what if he couldn't go berserk? What if this realm had cured him of his curse and managed to give him a second chance to redeem all the wrongs he had done? The ability to wrong no more, to not have to worry about hurting the ones he loved? The Alpha Stigma rested himself against a tree as he thought, a fresh prime still struggling to find out how this realm applies it rules to him, and how the world within this realm further does so. No. He couldn't get his hoped up just yet. he still knew near nothing about what lies here, and the only way to find out is to walk and investigate. With newfound energy and drive, the Alpha Stigma ventured off into a random direction, keeping an eye out for movement among the trees. His footsteps were soft and silent against the fallen leaves of the jungle, while he tried to make mental landmarks. However, it seemed like everything was the same, nothing differed except for the smell of ash rising to the man's nose as he continued along. Re: Day 1 Morning - Makoto Yuki - 02-08-2016 The phantom didn't look particularly moved by my pledge to aid in his liberation, probably due to a lack of confidence in my abilities? It'd at least be understandable, my appearance didn't exactly scream 'musclebound hero', especially not with my school uniform still clinging to my frame; why was I still wearing that old thing, anyway? He left me lying on the floor and went to sit by the giant statue in the middle of the room, how did I miss that thing, it was of the Greek goddess Artemis, judging by her female figure, and the bow strung across her back. Never mind him, I'll have to erase his doubts by my actions, not my words. I turned my attention to the rest of the room, only to find that I wasn't the only person to be summoned, far from it, thirty-something 'champions' seemed to have already been summoned before myself, most of which were already clustered in medium sized groups. They were teaming up, and I was late to the party. Much too late, it'd seem. How did I figure? The spirit rose from its perch, and almost too gleefully, sent us off on our merry way to find his shit for him. And did he let us walk out there this time? Of course not! Where would the fun be in that? The floor disappeared again. Please, please, please don't let this be a running gag. Re: Day 1 Morning - The Spirit - 02-08-2016 The Spirit's voice rang out through the Island, almost as if he were speaking through a microphone. "I appreciate all of your work heroes! It seems one of you has found a guardian! I believe you can do it young champion! Defeat the Guardian and claim the Relic!" There was a long pause after this, his voice became less steady in confidence. "There seems to be a bit of a problem though....the tides of the sea seem to be rising up and I'd suggest you best stay away from it. It'll pass eventually." Quote: Actions have been reset part 2 of the morning has begun. Re: Day 1 Morning - Ururu Kyuuei - 02-08-2016 It said something about the amount of time Ururu had spent in this body that she was able to break her fall upon three of her four limbs, even when her stomach did a sudden backflip. Even so she was ready with her fourth limb, or rather her right arm to begin pounding anything within reach. Her eyes however found nothing but prairie whose breeze was passing through with just enough boldness to bring a glimmer of a smile to her. It was a beautiful scene; pastures like this were a rarity in Hi no Kuni but something in the air though was off. It was too bold, though it had yet to reach a gale; there was a potency in it, even as it moved lazily through the vegetation. It was searching for something, that much she could tell, but beyond that she could only guess. Her career as ninja, a historian, archeologist, and architect- well two of those were extensions of the other two… but as a shinobi and an archeologist, she had learned to pay attention to events and the nature of things and here… the nature seemed off. Not even Balance that had been preventing her from using her vast array of jutsu was here. No, compared to that barely stifling atmosphere, this was a tyrannical oppression, and yet… Ururu slowly got up, checking her pockets again and all she found was a children’s toy of sorts. A plastic disguise? Fake animal teeth. Great. Nothing that would help her efforts in seizing this day for herself. “Guess he didn’t like my attitude, maybe I should have faked it,” Ururu muttered, though the expected rebuke from Hikaru never came. Not mental, not physical and not even teasing. She would even take lecturing about her behavior and how her maturity had gone down the hole since she put this body on… Instead she got nothing. The pit in her chest deepened. Just like the rest of the world, nothing. It took everything from her, the chance of true freedom with the one she loved. Just as she had started growing content. Ururu mentally slapped herself for growing distracted, she couldn’t mope. No amount of that would ever help her get her family back. But the question was what would a normal Ururu do. “Focus on the underneath.” Ururu said in her best sing-song Hikaru voice, the effect of which was ruined by her normal rasp. But it was enough to give her the centering she needed. The underneath here was the world she was in. It was isolated from the rest of the verses. Mayhap the isolationverse, was this what it was? Or rather a larger more powerful version of it? The symptoms fit the Spirit’s words. It was on a much grander scale and the temple was proof of habitation or history prior to it being summoned. What was summoned was tied to the history of the summoner. Thus to understand the whole thing she had to understand the land itself. The underneath. A shinobi though looked under that however. And the city in the distance seemed like a good place to start. Re: Day 1 Morning - Red - 02-08-2016 With a grunt, the withering spirit got up from his seat. His sights steadily shifted around the temple, making brief eye contact with every individual he had brought to serve him—what a great number of Heroes he had collected. It brought a smile to his face. “Heroes, I shall no longer delay you,” he announced, followed by words regarding weaponry. Trunks glanced back over at Teucer and furrowed his brow. Delay us from your intentions, you mean. he thought. With the agility of a man a quarter of his age, the old spirit outstretched his arms, directing his open hands towards his collection of Heroes. “Now go!” Teucer exclaimed; the exertion from his diaphragm heaped rasp into his voice. The person closest to the swordsman—a large man who had the traits of a Kai, but with a hairline that contested even his father's—disappeared, poofing into a thick cloud of black vapors. Trunks flinched, and jolted backwards with a stunted quiver, caught off-guard by what he had witnessed. The others that Teucer gathered followed suit, all disappearing with an exhaust of dark smoke. Trunks whipped his head back around to the old spirit, and gritted his teeth; he was next to poof. Tuecer simply continued smiling, directing his palms over towards the swordsman. “Go,” he said. * * *
When his eyes opened, the swordsman found himself laying in a bed of dandelions. Tree branches above him had long wingspans, blotching out majority of the sunlight. They wrapped over and under neighboring branches like loose threading patterns. The leaves were green, but also a slight glint of mustard yellow as they swayed in the breeze. “How the hell?” Trunks mussitated while pushed himself off of the weeds. The last few hours (assuming that time elapsed in this Omniverse) had been filled with how the hells—awkward physics, the mysticism of Teucer; not to mention the orb of rainbow light inserted into him, which he ignored to the brink of nearly forgetting about it —and the possibilities built from them were enough to construct a skyscraper in his mind. But they were better cast aside, at least for the moment; toggling through answers would be futile at the moment, and only drift his mind from the task at hand. As he arose, the blue blanket between his feet caught his eye. It nestled next to a rock that poked out of the bed of dandelions like the top of a glacier. Trunks recalled Teucer speaking of weapons, maybe this was it. He reached down and pulled away the bottom of the blanket, flipping it over the rock, and exposing the object underneath. “Interesting,” he said, crouching down to uncover the rest of the weapon. “Though he could have just returned the sword that the water-guy pried from me.” He looked for more supplies, but none were there—no map, no rations, no thank you note. Trunks sighed through his nostrils; a radar would have been nice. The swordsman undid the belt to his sheathe and leaned it against his knee as he rolled the blanket up, stuffing it into the sheathe afterwards. The weapon, he unbuckled his coat for. He tucked it next to his arm, and redid his buckle. “Greetings!” Tuecer's voice projected over the forest. This guy. The spirit proceeded to give additional information, mostly regarding Guardians and Relics. Near the tail-end of it, his voice became shallow and fragile; the island's sea-level was set to rise soon. Trunks couldn't smell the scent of salt nearby, nor the sound of crashing waves, so he ignored the message. Returning to his feet, he threw his sheathe around his back and snapped his buckle shut. He looked ahead at the scenery of forest, wondering how far it stretched. Re: Day 1 Morning - The Spirit - 02-08-2016 Trixie The feeling of sand beneath her feet, Trixie looks at the piece of shit weapon that the Spirit had given her. What did he think she was, some sort of junkie?! The big red warning label "Do Not Inject" looked very controlling. I mean would the Spirit really give her something useless? Maybe it was heroin or maybe it could be steroids. She wouldn't know until she found out. "FUCK IT!" She raised the syringe, the green liquid shining in the air, before stabbing herself in the arm. Pain. Pain was all that she now knows. As the slime crawled it's way up her veins, she dropped the needle and fell to her knees. She let out a primal scream, she's been through the tortures of the Underverse. This was nothing. The burning pain flowed through her entire body screaming at her muscles. Her eyes turned white and she began to vomit blood. The black tar that erupted from her mouth stained her teeth and corrupted the ground. Her fingers trembled with rage and her jaw clenched. Her mind raced with a thousand thoughts before only one remained. "EAT!" Quote: Trixie stabbed herself with the T-Virus Syringe. She now has +1 to all stats for the remainder of the event and now her physical attacks are almost as good as Okay weapons. She can no longer make allies. Re: Day 1 Morning - The Spirit - 02-08-2016 FACE TO FACE Magus vs. Zombie Trixie Magus walked around in the forest with his weapon slung around his shoulder, it’s brutal nature was something unusual for the warrior. He wasn’t complaining, however this sweaty forest wasn’t the best of positions. He quietly told himself that this would all be worth it once he was out of here with that newfound power. He will find Omni. This was just a small step to getting it. A twig cracked behind him and he began to turn his head. Immediately a redheaded woman crashed on top of him scratching at his face. Her nails dug a piece of skin right off of his face. He cringed at the ferocity of this woman, as he had to hold her face from gnashing her teeth into his neck. He took a deep breathe before concentrating, time slowed down for a second. He easily pushed the woman off of his body before getting up to his feet and drawing his weapon. He took it out from his back and wielded it accordingly drawing it’s string. Time resumed and the monster that lay on front of him was already at it’s feet. He pulled the string once more and his weapon roared to life, it’s swirling blades dancing threatening it’s opponent. He couldn’t help but smile at the roar of the weapon, almost as if it called for this to eventually happen. “You want to fight me? I will teach you to be afraid!” He swung the weapon at the woman as she charged straight into him, carrying his weight into the nearby tree. The air flew out of his body and as he choked he brought down the weapon. The monster attempted to avoid it’s touch, but the whirring blades dug into her leg, causing sticky, black blood to spatter everywhere. She screamed in pain and let her prey go from the tree. Magus fell down and began gasping for air. He quickly brought the weapon up to fend the monster off but she was already gone, dashing into the wilderness. “Prey...too...tough.” He could hear echoing from the woods.
Quote: Trixie has a big gash on her leg and will have problems walking - 4 DMG
Re: Day 1 Morning - Albert Wesker - 02-08-2016 His entire body ached from the impact of that thing — Mr Bubbles, had the child called it? What a child was even doing here at all was beyond him. There had been no sight of her, or of this hulking abomination at the temple when Teucer summoned them all to this place. So neither of them were among the number of the 'heroes' that had been brought here, which left one option. "Looks like I got lucky..." he muttered, teeth clenched as he sucked in a deep breath, trying fervently to ignore the dull ache as he brought the still quite unfamiliar sword to bear, pointing it at the massive form of 'Mr. Bubbles' and casting a short glance at the child. A quick inspection brought the bracers she bore to his attention, and his eyes narrowed. One of the Relics, already. That was quite the stroke of luck. He whipped his head back around to face the monolithic mechanized monstrosity, and squared himself off into his trademark offensive posture. Knees bent, spread wide, ready to spring forward and attack; sword held over his torso, poised to strike out at any angle to intercept a wily foe, or exploit any opening presented. His lack of any of the usual combat routines he made use of would limit his options harshly, and force him to strategize, if he wanted to have a decent shot at coming out on top in this engagement. And given the sheer size and mass of the bloodstained behemoth, a strategy was rapidly forming. Use its own size against it. In terms of raw power, it would likely have the advantage, if only due to sheer leverage. But its bulkiness would surely impede its momentum and grace, and leave it...unbalanced. He didn't quite crack a smile, but some of the grimness faded from his face. "Combat routine, set..." His eyes flashed with killing intent, his entire frame bowing forward, like a coiled snake about to strike. "...Execute!" And he broke into a run, covering the short distance between him and the drill-toting creature. A sound that grated on Colonel's senses like the groaning, tearing noise of metal, reverberating with an unholy shriek, met his charge. The lights in the brute's helmet flashed red, the drill it toted spinning up with an ominous whirr. It struck, its drill lashing out with deceptive quickness, and sending up a shower of sparks as it grated against the blade of Colonel's weapon. He was barely able to deflect the blow, and it sent him staggering to one side. "Damn..." As if on cue, the blade of his sword seemed to shatter, falling to pieces. The cord connecting them glinted in the sunlight, and with only a flick of the wrist, it was hauled up into Colonel's opposite hand, and flung out, wrapping around the brutish beast's legs. The drill came around again, carving a buzzing arc through the air and nearly taking off Colonel's head, had the soldier navi not already been ducking low, hauling on the bladed whip to tighten the noose. Leaping back, the drill bit into the stone where he had been standing, and with a powerful yank, putting all of his strength into it, the cyber soldier pulled the balance right out from under the behemoth, sending it toppling over backwards, another shrieking groan of tortured metal going up, along with a much more human shriek from the little girl behind him. Immediately, Colonel was on the attack, uncoiling and withdrawing the sword, forming it back into a solid blade, and rushing in for the kill. Re: Day 1 Morning - The Spirit - 02-08-2016 Ambush Big Daddy vs. Colonel Colonel rushed at the Big Daddy, sword in hand, ready to make the killing blow. Although his sensors told him nothing, he knew he could out maneuver this massive beast. Or so he thought until the Daddy’s huge fist crashed into his stomach and flung him directly into a tree. As the first connected, sparks flew out and a sort of blue substance seemed to spurt out of his mouth. Pain flared throughout his body as his back hit the tree with a resounding crack. His vision began to blur in and out as he saw the massive “Mr. Bubbles” come running straight at him. Colonel winced as he quickly stood up and instinctively began whipping his weapon around. As the giant beast was almost upon the warrior, Colonel lashed out his whip-blade, managing to slice the Guardian’s suit. The Guardian winced in pain, as it’s flesh was not only exposed to the elements once more but a razor sharp sword cut it open. The pale white flesh was getting sun for the first time in years. Colonel brought his weapon into one before charging once more, dodging the Guardian’s fist and using all of his weight to shove his sword into the Guardian. The monster screamed in pain and instinctively grabbed Colonel’s sword arm. “Slam him Mr. Bubbles! Beat the bad guy!” The Guardian did just that, raising up the warrior before slamming him onto the ground. Another flash of “Warning” came upon his screen followed by an “Extreme Pressure Alert.” The letters disappeared right as the drill began to wind up and descend upon Colonel. The whirring metal quickly warmed up and began to touch the warrior’s torso, the thing wanted to torture him. Inefficiency will be it’s downfall. Colonel reached for his sword and extended it to a whip once more. He lashed out and managed to get a severe cut in the Guardian’s arm...at the expense of driving the drill further into his circuitry. The Guardian fell back, wincing in pain. Colonel quickly got up and brought his sword into one coherent blade. He charge at the beast on last time, hoping to strike a killing blow. The Guardian punched him right in the face, sending him back across the field. Colonel landed on his back, skidding across the floor. He attempted to get up but his legs were slow at responding. A moment of panic flashed across his face...where was his weapon? The thought was cut short by a large groan coming from the Guardian. He looked up to see his sword embedded in the monster’s armor before the entire beast fell. The little girl rushed towards the fallen beast and began to bawl. “Mr. Bubbles wake up...the bad guy is still there. Mr. Bubbles no!” Her flood of tears went ignored as Colonel ripped the sword from the Big Daddy’s flesh. He wiped the blade on the ground before noticing that she was even there. He simply walked over to the little girl and stabbed her. “Mission. Accomplished.”
Quote:
|
