Re: Quick Questions II - Stephan Donnel - 10-25-2015

Question: Description of the Insight power notes that user can use it on those he can see/sense with the Enhanced Senses power. Does that mean that to use Insight for anything but RP-fodder you need to have Enhanced Senses?

Re: Quick Questions II - Kakashi Hatake - 10-25-2015

You don't need Enhanced Senses to use it, but it would make the 'range' broader/better. Insight can be used on those that you can see or sense with Enhanced Senses. Without Enhanced Senses you'd be limited to those that are within line of sight, while Enhanced Senses in tandem with Insight could allow you to glean information from foes around corners, in buildings, etc. Provided they're not suppressed with a higher TEC than you, anyway.

About the Vita Compass: as it says on the description it allows someone to track their location after having met them. What about if that person is dead or banished however? Would you be able to tell their status?

Dead I don't know, but I can say that being banished means you're essentially cut off from the rest of the Omniverse. So I would think the compass might error out.

Mhm, since all the compass does if they're not in your verse is point you to the gate and the only way into the Underverse right now is a Banishing Circle, it wouldn't be able sense the person at all.

As for being dead, as soon as you die your body evaporates into Omnillium and then exists in limbo for 3 OOC and IC days. So for the same reason as being in the Underverse (not existing in an accessible plane), it couldn't help you. Additionally, the Death Shroud when you pop back into the Nexus would also block the compass from working (since the Death Shroud exists primarily to deter people from spawn camping). So from the point of death until they voluntarily or involuntarily break their shroud, the compass wouldn't be able to sense them.

Has anyone (a non-staff player) ever successfully created their own verse? Is their an unspoke OM Price?

Tom Marvolo Riddle Wrote:Has anyone (a non-staff player) ever successfully created their own verse? Is their an unspoke OM Price?

No player character has ever successfully made their own Verse. There is of course an OM price for it, but I believe it's in the "no one has enough for it" range, so it's never been spoken of one way or the other.

Is it possible to change your body for a power-up transformation, in a way that impacts their combatability? Like growing a second pair of arms, growing a horn or the like?

Sure, but you'd need a move to use them effectively.

So are whips of about 5 melers long or longer melee or ranged weapons?

@ Tom

Minato Namikaze Wrote:Spiritual Attunement and Enlightenment allows you to speak with dead primes that are waiting the three days (OOC and IC) for their revival. You can't interact with them physically, but you can speak to them if you wish. As for being usable while dead... you wouldn't really need to?
I thought they did let you interact with them physically? Attunement's description states that any damage dealt to you whilst meditating is dealt to your real body as well (which certainly makes it seem like you're capable of interacting with things in the Astral verse) and Enlightenment straight-up states that you're physically there; how could you possibly not be able to interact with them in that case?

I am talking specifically about dead primes, and how you can talk to them without entering the Astral verse. Entering the Astral Verse is a different thing entirely.

Edit: and if you read the question asked, you'd know that they were asking about the other things it can do

Re: Quick Questions II - Caira Ayryn - 10-27-2015

If a secondary dies, and then is re-summoned, is it necessary to announce which ("unknown") Prime summoned them again?

Re: Quick Questions II - Tom Marvolo Riddle - 10-27-2015

What happens when two attack moves hit each other? Is that situation that comes up often?

Nah.

Re: Quick Questions II - Kakashi Hatake - 10-27-2015

Tom Marvolo Riddle Wrote:What happens when two attack moves hit each other? Is that situation that comes up often?

It comes up often in the case of offensive moves vs. defensive moves like shields and occasionally with offensive vs. offensive. For regular moves, the results can be how ever you'd want to write them as long as you follow the whole 'no God-moding' thing (if you have 1 ATK, you can't punch through a shield of someone with 3 DEF typically, etc.) Fights/sagas don't typically hinge on whether or not a move hits as it's usually down to writing quality. Most things are fine as long as your opponent and any judges don't object (destroying a shield with a powerful move might be fine, blowing a limb off with a pistol probably not). If it's a personal story, run it by the people you're writing with as a courtesy if it seems questionable.

For sake of argument though, it depends on which moves and who uses them. Specifically it would come down to stats, powers, proficiencies, fatigue and how the techniques work. Assuming both participants are freshly rested and uninjured, if it were something like Kakashi's shuriken (fast use, no fatigue) hitting Proto Man's Atomic Fire (small/medium charge, some fatigue), it's safe to assume the shuriken would be either destroyed or deflected. It's really a best judgment call. Super Moves on the other hand abide by their own rules. Gotta block a Tier-1 with at least a Tier-1, etc.

Sorry for the wall of text =P. Hopefully that answers your question.

Re: Quick Questions II - Tom Marvolo Riddle - 10-27-2015

Different topic same vein though. If a range attack is invisible or just not easily visible does it require stealth? Then again, you can't really see bullets. But yeah.

Hi I wanted to know if combining shape shifting + shrink would allow someone to change into small creatures freeform or would you need a move for each creature you wished to become?

No moves required for that, friend-o.

Re: Quick Questions II - Wendy Cheslock - 10-29-2015

Once I get some free time I'm planning on summoning a secondary in my next post, course I have a few questions on how to go about it.

1) how long does it generally take? (I thought I read somewhere it takes an hour? Can't find that thread anymore.)

2) generally what kind of Stat spread do they start with? (10 like me? Or half?)

Sorry if this is in a thread somewhere, haven't been able to find it DX
