Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Undyne - 10-29-2015 A pair of Colosseum medical staff men came running into the arena with a pallet, only to realize that they could hardly lift the dragoness who was passed out after her fight and in danger of bleeding out, let alone heave her onto the pallet to bring her to the hospital area. However one of them had a Communicator for emergencies like these, and a quick call arranged an additional four men as well as a steel-reinforced pallet to put her on. "That's gotta be the biggest Prime I've seen so far." one of them remarked as they heaved her up and carried her. "You can admire her when we've got her healed up, now keep walking or she'll bleed out!" another one replied. "Why the fuss? She's a damn Prime. We coulda left her there to die and she'd come back." "Because we get PAID to not let them die! And besides, a bloodied corpse dampens the spectator's moods." On the other hand, several were boo-ing and pointing their thumbs downwards when Courier left the dragoness knocked out rather than killing her - they wanted to see blood. The vast majority though cheered for Courier instead. Minutes later the team arrived in the hospital tents that were set up near the Colosseum to bring the fighters to. Courier might even be here as well, but in a different part of it. They placed Alexyana onto a bedding on the ground and began to treat her injuries. Because she had done some basic treatment for both she wasn't going to bleed out as they had feared, but the treatment was no easy task either. "The pincers! There's scales stuck here!" "Disinfectant!" "Stabilize, stabilize!" "Careful there!" "Someone clean her, I can't see with all this blood!" "More bandages!" "You missed her bracelet, man! I can't properly wrap up her arm!" "Can't take it off, that thing's stuck to her with magic or something!" And so on. But, within a fair hour of work they had patched her up, bandaged her chest, stomach and arm, treated the injury on her maw with valuable medi-gel and disinfected her injuries to avoid infections. Who knows what state Courier's knife and shotgun shells might have been in, they could have been rusty or dirty. However, once she was properly taken care of her state rapidly stabilized and they left her to sleep there. It took the dragoness over six hours to wake up. When she did, she stirred in her sleep at first, then slowly came to and finally sat up on her bed."Ghh... where the hell...?" Her memory was sort of blanked out for a bit, she had a vague sense of time so she could tell that it wasn't long since she had fought Courier - and lost. Yes, she could remember her memory blanking out after Courier had shot her again. She probably had landed another headshot that had knocked her out. She couldn't remember having landed any final hit, and if she had won she wouldn't be left somewhere like this. The fights barely allowed for any time of recovery. Well, either way... she looked around while feeling herself up. The spot on her head where the sniper bullet had hit her throbbed but that'd be okay. Her clothes laid on a table next to her and she had bandages covering her injuries - mostly her belly - and a blanket to cover her up. She checked how she was doing, but found that most of her injuries were very well treated and didn't hurt. Not that she would force her luck by moving about too much, of course. "Wish I'd had the time to congratulate her..." Somehow she didn't feel angry about her loss. Well, somehow - she had never intended to win the tournament, though of course making it past the first round would have been nice. She wanted to meet people, enjoy the tournament from the spectator seats and - oh! If the fights were going on still, she was going to miss out on them! The next rounds probably had started already, she had to go fast if she wanted to catch the sights! She heaved herself to her feet and put on her clothing. The bracelet was on her arm, they hadn't been able to take that off - it was enchanted to prevent people from just that, after all. Well! Time to move to the spectator ranks. She ensured that the bandages were properly set in place, though she doubted that she'd need to wear them for much longer. They probably had magic-trained medical staff around here to treat the gladiators or something. Just as she was about to leave the tent, two men in leathery clothing came in and blocked the exit. They smelled like they needed a wash and, though they had no visible armament, Alexyana found the faint scent of metal about them. They were looking at her in a way that she did not like, at all. "'Scuse me." she said, acting as if she wanted to pass by them while unaware of the lurking danger, but the right one stepped closer to his friend and blocked the way completely. "You ain't goin' anywhere, lass." "Are you going to keep me from it?" "Better shut your ugly maw", the other one said. "We ain't joking around." "Aye. You caused a lot of ruckus in the Colosseum, ya know that? Being a dragon and such?" "Let me guess. You want to use the moment while I'm weakened to teach me a lesson." "Heh. You catch on quick, lass..." The first man reached for his concealed stiletto, but as his hand wrapped around the hilt the dragoness rushed forward and caught them both by surprise. Neither had expected her to move this fluently after having taken a beating in the Colosseum. She slammed her open palms onto their faces and foreheads, catapulting them out of the tent. The slam and hitting their backs on the ground hurt of course, but Alexyana was careful to not actually injure them. "I don't want any trouble with you. Stay away from me if you know what's good for you and I'll forget about this matter." "Gnh... don't think you'll get away with this!" One of them scuttled to his feet but froze when he realized that outside of the tent they were in plain view. Attacking here would undoubtedly attract the attention of Camelot guardsmen and visitors. He snarled. "You win today... but you ain't seen the last of us! Filthy monsters like yourself don't deserve to walk among us, let alone call yourself Primes! You stain this land just by being there! You should be in the Underverse, where you belong!" While throwing his insults he pulled his friend to his feet and then hurried off with him, disappearing into the crowd. Alexyana raised an eyebrow but shrugged. "Dragon hunters everywhere... but what did he say about the Underverse? Must be some sort of abyss where all the aberrations come from around here..." Speaking of which, she needed a means of discovering information. She'd seen a few people use items to conjure up pictures and rows of text info into the air before them, perhaps she could make up something similar... but, for now she made herself a handful of coins and went on a little shopping spree to get herself what the carnival's food stores had to offer. Ten minutes after that she moved into the spectator ranks and sat down with a cardboard bucket full of packed delicacies. She started out with this thing the vendor had called corndog and began to eat as she scouted the arena for Courier. Wait... the arena had changed! There were weapons, but... huh, there were demon-like items on one side of it, and stuff that vaguely reminded her of magitech but then again looked much more peculiar on the other. Demon-like items... was there some sort of Hell around here too? A hellish landscape perhaps? She had no idea... another thing to ask about as soon as she'd get the chance. But, back to focusing... she noticed Courier just in time to see her landing a blow on her opponent, a white being with a sword and shield. She cheered loudly for her, along with several other spectators which had become her fans after the fight against the dragoness, then sunk back into her chair and pulled out a caramel-coated apple. She was liking the food around here more by the minute... Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Schwi Dola - 10-29-2015 Desco blinked. She looked at Gildarts's injuries. Desco's body had been healed up just fine by the colosseum staff. But her body was very resilient as a result of genetic engineering. Gildarts only had a human body. Desco pulled out a little Omnilium from her chest and focused on it. It make a rainbow of colors until it changed into a glass bottle filled with red liquid. She tugged on Gildarts's clothes. "Here Gildarts, this is a health potion!" Gildarts gave a quick, awkward smile and took the offer from Desco. Then she hopped down. Sitting on him would probably aggravate some of his injuries. She pointed at one of the stands nearby. It stood out a little bit with its traditional Japanese decorations. "Look, sushi!" Desco went over to the stand and looked in. Everything from yellowtail to fatty tuna, they had all kinds of different sushis available. While Gildarts probably continued his conversation with Molly, Desco ordered a huge assortment of sushi. She used the gold she still had in her backpack, and materialized some more. She summoned Yogsothoth to carry the ridiculous amount of food back to Gildarts. "Have you ever eaten sushi, Gildarts?" Desco started eating one piece after another. It was a nice reminder of home. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Roger Smith - 10-30-2015 A billowing cloud of dust and shredded grass was all that heralded the arrival of Erik Whitman as he rolled to a halt outside the imposing facade of the Colosseum. It was far from the first time he had seen it. He had spared many a glance at it in passing on his trips to and through Camelot, to and from Minas Tirith and many other small locations among the Verse. But he had never really spared it much more than a passing thought; never really paused to imagine what its splendor might be like up close and personal, or to spare thought for entertaining himself with partaking in the watching of the blood sport events within its walls. And yet...here he was. He sucked in a deep breath, trying to slow his heaving chest and steady his pounding heart. It had been a long trip made very quickly, and in no small part thanks to his preferred method of transportation, a rather physically demanding and taxing one. A simple click of his heels against the ground had the rocket-assisted skates fold neatly away and warp themselves into very regular-looking shoes befitting of the Lord class. He dusted his pants off, scattering the errant trail dirt and grass from his person, and tugged at his coat. "Aaaah....I do so detest covering such long-distances so rapidly...it is messy." He breezed his way toward the Colosseum, pausing only to inquire about directions and entry from passersby, and in only a matter of minutes he had purchased his entry ticket for the violent festivities and was bounding over the grounds and into the Colosseum proper. "Aha! I have arrived in time after all!" He was still somewhat out of breath as he hopped up stairs in the stands two and three at a time, but his perpetual smile was undisturbed, plastered as clearly and widely on his face as ever. "Where might I be able to get a good seat..." His eyes lit up as he caught wind of the particular presence of another Space player, the fact standing out almost as strongly as their proverbial 'scent' as a Prime among the throng of Secondaries in the stands. Without even pausing he slipped aside and down one aisle and with all the grace he had displayed thus far, flopped heavily down in an empty seat near at hand to his fellow Space-wielder. He let out a few deep breaths, more than a little winded after his feat of bounding up so many stairs and down so many halls and passages to make his way up to the stands and turned his ever-smiling gaze toward the canine ear-sporting lass. "It is quite the spectacle, is it not?" he said, great bemusement evident in his tone. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Jade Harley - 10-31-2015 Blugh. Jade scuffs her ruby red slippers on the stone steps distractedly, mumbling under her breath as she continues to send out a bunch of messages over her memo. She hopes Karkat will return soon so she will at least have someone concrete to speak to! As for another thing, she has yet to even talk to Gamzee in person, so she’s kind of excited about speaking to the fabled juggalo troll at last! An unexpected, odd feeling trickles up Jade’s spine, like a cup of tingling ice water has just been poured over her back from the nape of her neck. It’s like— like some kind of gravitational pull, urging her to crane her neck to the side to see something, something totally momentous and noteworthy. Taking her eyes off of what is going on in the ring for but a moment, the red shuttering of Time powers dancing about in her peripheral vision, Jade turns to cautiously squint at the guy who has just unceremoniously sagged down onto the seat beside her. He’s wearing a long black coat with a hood pulled down low over most his smiling face; the material is soft and faintly fuzzy, like her modified god-tier pajamas. She doesn’t recognize him at all. Could I kick this guy’s ass if he’s not very nice? she asks herself, her expression mostly collected in the face of his unfazed smile. Becquerel snuffles loudly from behind her at being so easily forgotten, placing his head in her lap for a few head-scritches while he continues to survey potentially threatening spectators. She happily provides them, trying to divide her attention between two things at once and ultimately failing in doing so. Canting her head quizzically to the side, Jade notes that the guy is breathing heavily after walking down, like, thirty steps or something. Her fuzzy white dog ears twitch lightly, lips plucking up into a slight buck-toothed grin that betrays nothing of this thought process and only succeeds in probably making her seem a little silly. Yeah. I could totally kick this guy’s ass. Then, she registers his outfit more clearly. Most importantly, the white spiral design emblazoned across his chest that is so similar in appearance to the one fixed to the corner of her sparkly coat. Suddenly, everything about this guy practically screams Space player. His words circulate through her mind a tad belatedly, and Jade scrunches up her eyebrows for a moment, trying desperately to recall them to the forefront of her mind. She ends up staring quite obviously at his shoes, which are the same delightful red as her own. They aren't as sparkly as hers, but they're a Space player's, alright. “Oh, I guess it is, yeah,” Jade utters, and blinks up at him curiously, green eyes widening prominently behind her glasses. Then, to make sure that he gets that she’s actually seeing something important here, she blinks again. “Who were you, again? Wait! Don’t tell me! You’re that one guy! The… the guy! I don’t know your real name, but you’re egregiousInquisitor, right? What a mouthful! You’re Adam’s pal, huh?” Jade glances around for Karkat and Gamzee real quick, ears pricked smartly up and listening for any indistinct honking that could possibly be singled out from the rest of the crowd’s jibber jabber. Alas, it is not so! She just can’t seem to find them. With a small pout, Jade turns back to speak to egregiousInquisitor. “My other friends are around here somewhere,” she laments, patting Bec’s ears down flat. “They’re trolls, you know? Cool candy corn horns. I would have really liked for everyone to meet up together, but with Adam trying not to die and Karkat trying to keep Gamzee from dying as well…. well, it’s all one big mess! But I’m glad you’re here, at least, nameless person!” She gestures wildly around at nothing and everything in equal increments, tangled hair spilling about her shoulders as she does so. Her twin-tailed god-tier hood sluggishly struggles to keep up with her excitement from where it is draped over Becquerel’s back. “What’s your name, by the way? You already know mine, so it’s only fair that we do the proper exchange now!” she says to him, as earnest as can be. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Dawnika Snow - 11-01-2015 Dawnika's new friend had left to have his second fight. She had longed to be the one who would step out onto the arena floor the second time. Her face was long, for all she could think about was her inability to fight properly in this world. Shapeshifting, all her weapons and magic, all of it was gone. The demon girl rose from her chair in the infirmary and limped out into the stands. All the fights were at full pace already. The pain in her foot was starting to dampen, making it less painful to walk but it didn't help her ability to. Turning her attention to the fights as she limped to find a seat, the demon looked upon the on going fights, trying to find the wizard in the dark clothes that had broken her ankle. There he was, on some futuristic looking stage, nothing like their battlefield before. So far it looked as though the two wizards fight was at a stalemate of trading blows through the arcane. "You had better win mage. I would be upset if you could not even make it to the third round. If you can take down a Demon Princess, you sure as Light can take down another mage." Her attention turned back to the stands, where her dragoness friend awaited. Alexyana seemed to be enjoying the fights, but wait. If Alexyana was in the stands, that meansshe had lost her first round fight as well, right? Dawnika limped up to her friend and plopped down the seat to her right. Alexyana turned to see her take a seat and could instantly tell she was upset with her inability to make it to round two. The demon girls face was long, and she stared at the floor with unbroken eye contact. "I am weak, my dragon companion. The girls breath came out heavy through a loud sigh. "I have no motivation to fight with all my might in this world. Everything I care about in my life is either dead or in Xenithia. Why I was brought to this universe, I will never know. I would like to ask you a question though." Alexyana's express grew to curiousity. "What would that be?" Dawnika rose her head and looked Alexyana in the eyes. "Would you mind if we travel together? I have a desire to protect others. That is why i fight, and without a person to protect, I feel as though my blade is meaningless. Can I join you on your quests to come?" The demon girl sat slumped over in her seat with her hands gripping the armrest to keep herself up right. She waited for the dragoness' response. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Roger Smith - 11-01-2015 It isn't readily apparent if he is just a bit lightheaded from his run all the way here still, or if it's something else entirely, but there is a distinct impression of being thoroughly appraised. It feels distinctly like someone is wondering if they might be able to kick his ass. If he is offended or upset in any way at this information, it doesn't show. His expression remains perfectly unruffled, and he merely holds up a hand in a "hold on a moment" gesture, taking a deep breath to try and steady his breathing. "Please forgive me...I had the unfortunate necessity of needing to, as they say, 'hoof it' to get here...I am still winded." His need to catch his breath sated for now, he can only lift one arm in a lazy shrug, his smile giving away nothing. "You are correct on one count, and not quite so correct on the other. For now, at any rate. But I suppose that's neither here nor there." He diverts his attention for a moment toward the arena, and the matches taking place below. He leans forward intently, his shrouded gaze peering at each match in turn as his head slowly cranes this way and that. "Fascinating...." he murmurs. "...to be enthralled and so supportive and caught up in such a grisly spectacle." He throws up one hand in mock defeat, shaking his head in defeat. "Alas...it is the nature of the beast." Turning back to Jade, his expression momentarily cracks at the mention of trolls. "Ah...trolls, you say? How odd... I never had the..." His expression twists up into something unpleasant, his smile faltering. "...fortune to reach anything approaching pleasant terms with them. It is quite interesting to see that not all of them are entirely unapproachable." He was blissfully unaware that he had already had the 'pleasure' of a short conversation with Gamzee. "A group gathering would be lovely, indeed. I shan't be going anywhere in the immediate future, so perhaps once this set of bouts are over we will have that chance?" He brings one hand up over his face to stifle a chuckle at Jade's enthusiasm. "Ah, but it has been a long time since I have met someone so genuinely energetic and cheerful...or that actually wanted to know anything about me but how they might get me to leave as quickly as possible..." He trailed off, turning his head away with a wistful look on his face. "Ah...but since you did ask, and with such sound logic, my name is Erik Whitman." He makes a gesture as of sweeping off a top hat, the imitation of a perfect gentleman. "A pleasure." Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Gildarts - 11-02-2015 Gildarts downed the health potion and a bit of zing! was left on hist tongue. After a moment, his shoulders felt lighter, and he looked at Desco with a bit of awe. Later, she offered the mage sushi, and Gildarts seemed befuddled. Molly, from on the phone shouted, nearly burst the speakers, "MOCHIIIIIII?!" Gildarts looked at her curiously, and the young human explained that in her world, these delicacies were from the same continent. "I can't believe you've never heard of sushi, Gildarts!" Gildarts raised his eyebrows and looked back at Desco, intrigued by the small rolls of heaven. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Guu - 11-02-2015 Quote:Desco, Gildarts, Guu Suddenly, an outstretched fingerless limb appears in front of them, stopping in front of the sushi merchant. A mouth suddenly appears at the tip of the arm. “Two futomaki, please!” Spoke the hand. The Sushi merchant was visibly horrified by the talking hand, but considering the things he often sees on his travels, it didn’t stop him from responding. “Ummm, not used to making the traditional stuff, but since you’re such a lovely customer, I’ll give it my best shot!” Quickly coming into view was Guu; coiling her arm as if it were a long winding cable. “Welcome back Guu!” Called out Desco, gleefully waving an arm at her dear friend. The pink princess molded a third arm out of her shoulder and waved back briefly before the third arm melted away again. When she reached Gildarts, she stopped and coiled the rest up. Melting the bundled mess back into a normal-esque limb, she stretched over and climbed back onto Gildarts’ now much more healed shoulder and turned to look at Molly. “Hey Princess Guu!” Called out the little one on the phone. Guu’s mouth suddenly appeared on her face, apparently she lost it briefly in the whole mess. “Yo” She responded. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Yu Kanda - 11-02-2015 Kanda started to regain consciousness, his body was hurting, good, it meant he was still alive. The white ceiling above him started to become visible when his eyes started to open up, it took him a moment to realize what happened. He remembered now, the arena, the fight, the blonde that punched his lights out. Damn that was embarrassing to say the least. Losing from a woman like that, but what a woman she was. Kanda placed his arm over his eyes, a soft smile appeared on his face. Even though he had to get stronger to compete within this crazy world he knew he made an ally. "I don't know why you have that stupid grin on your face Kanda, you really got your ass handed to you out there." The exorcist's smile quickly disappeared when he heard Birgitta's high voice piercing his eardrums once more. " It was painful to even watch, your pride must be as bruised as you look, honestly i did not expect you to be this weak. Are you at least ashamed of that performance ? I mean you didn't take out a one hundred pound woman, how would you even handle a demon ?" The girl threw one comment after another towards the recovering warrior. She was clearly enjoying getting even with the man. "Could you for the love of everything that is holy shut up? I am not here to fight in these silly competitions anyway, you told me there would be demons here, which was a lie. I couldn't go all out against her. She was just a human, a ridiculously strong human, but a human nonetheless." The harsh words Kanda spouted at Birgitta surprised her, she did not expect her companion to react this fiercely. "I..- erh" Birgitta stuttered. "My gift is not to be used for this kind of entertainment. Yet this experience did show me i am not yet ready, i will have to further grow within the Omniverse and use this omnilium to further support my innocence powers." "And, how will you accomplish that ?" She asked in a tone that suggested she was slightly hurt by his verbal attack. "There is only one way, I travel, explore the Omniverse and study the verses. There must be more primes out there that are stronger, more knowledgeable about this stuff." Kanda reached for his weapon and placed it on his lap. His hand moved over the scabbard, he felt the dirt and dried up blood of the match he just fought on the smooth texture of the weapon. His moment got interrupted as the door opened up and he saw a familiar pink haired face walking in, Guu found him. **** After Guu left he looked at his arm where moments ago the tracker was still strapped on his arm. He was free from his obligations towards Ambrosia, perhaps they weren't as bad as he thought. They are still the weirdest bunch he has ever encountered, but they weren't bad people. Even Guu's companion didn't seem to have any evil intentions. "See, they aren't all bad" she interrupted his thoughts. Kanda, seemingly in a good mood responded as he was getting out of bed, "He wasn't no, next thing you tell me demon's aren't all that bad either, heh." "Well.." Kanda's eyes glared towards Birgitta instantly before she could finish her sentence. "Look at me all you want but they aren't all bad, it's like saying all humans are good. Its not all that black and white you know. This is exactly the reason why Guu wanted me to accompany you, before you end up in another mess. Should you be getting up though ?" "yes, yes. I've heard your warnings." The exorcist replied "now be quiet, I need to concentrate." He closed his eyes and started to concentrate, using the Omnilium to repair his silver lined exorcist coat. It was an exorcist pride after all. It didn't take him all that long to fully regenerate his exorcist coat. He still had some bandages on his hands that were visible. "Time to leave this place." He grabbed Mugen and headed out the door, quickly followed by Birgitta. Stepping outside, the sunshine hit his eyes and the cheering of the crowd his ears. Seems like there was still fighting going on. "Guess i can stay a little bit longer, see what other primes are out there." He made his way towards the spectator's area and saw the masses cheering from within the stands. Climbing the stairs he noticed allot of people and creatures of all kind. Some recognized him from his own match against Ms. Marvel, others we're completely into the match that was going on within the arena. Kanda sat down, Birgitta next to him. The exorcist glanced over the crowd once before his attention got drawn towards the Arena. With a calm eye he observed and learned from the powerful primes in the pit. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Jade Harley - 11-02-2015 Jade hides a giggle with her hand at the guy’s— Erik’s funny gentlemanly gesture. He sure is weird! Still, there’s a nice Space-y camaraderie thing that Jade would like to think is going on, and it’s kind of cool to talk to someone who might know as much about SBURB as she does who isn't a rude troll. She can hardly wait for him to meet Karkat and Gamzee! Unexpectedly, there is a rather startling crashing noise that causes her to start and her ears to flatten down dramatically against the top of her god-tier hood. Eyes wide and mouth gaping open a ways, the Witch of Space turns to watch as the rusty murderhobo that Adam is fighting punches into the space that the black-haired boy was just occupying previously. Luckily,— or maybe just thankfully, Adam isn’t a Light player!— the boy in red pajamas with a long windsock hood manages to dodge. Jade exhales a small sigh of relief out through her nose. Between her memo and this new friend sitting beside her, Jade hardly has enough attention to spare for the dangerous feats taking place in the arena. Still, she peers over at a particularly sudden movement through the surging red filter of her Spectagoggles every once in a while. She doesn’t really like watching this whole super violent bloodbath thing happen, although the BWNN is super rad. Picking idly at the edge of her flashy coat with a downward turn to her lips as Erik is talking, occasionally glancing up to offer a slight smile or grin, the slightly overcast clouds and warm bodies around them are making her outfit uncomfortably prickly and hot. She really ought to change into something less suited for an icy tundra later, hopefully before she has been turned into a sticky and gross puddle. She can’t help but wonder if Erik’s session turned out any better than her own, though; if he was able to breed a universe frog, stoke the forge and create an entirely new universe to preside over. That would kind of stink, if he were happy and with all of his friends when he was dumped in this strange and confusing place! At least Jade could have actually appreciated a welcome distraction from her lonesomeness while on her way to a new session. Other than what Jade would like to know about him, her new friend is goofy— and he speaks so nicely, too! Even when he gets a little weird when watching the Colosseum sessions taking place, and expresses some dislike for trolls, he has something neat to say. The answer he gives to her questioning about his relations to Adam, though… it doesn’t quite sit right with her. Are they friends or are they not? What a joker! As she posts various funny animated images on one of her message boards, Jade notices that Erik is messaging her back! Cool! Although, it is kind of silly for them to be speaking over the internet while sitting literally right next to each other. Jade still giggles loudly after reading over each post, fiddling with her Spectagoggles and candy red Lunchmuffs in order to provide optimal .GIF content. Soon enough, however, she speaks up for real. “So, Erik, I’d love to hear about what you’ve learned about the Omniverse! Have you been here very long? Karkat and I were actually going to try and ask around if anyone knows of a way to leave, but as far as I know that should be as good as impossible! And some of the only helpful people in my memo want me to join a faction or something, which I'm sorta leery of, to be honest!” She mopes a little, despondently tapping her slippers lightly against the underside of her seat. "Everything's just so difficult, all the time." Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Black☆Star - 11-03-2015 Black☆Star grumbled irritably as he siddled his way into the stands. His fight was long over, though he still ached from the unfortunate incident in which he became all too familiar with the sensation of death. The boy fumbled around meekly as he set himself down, clutching at Tsubaki. The second round had already begun and Gods knew Black☆Star was all too eager to be a part of it. Still, were it not for his adversary, chances are the assassin's determination may have dwindled slightly. "It was just a bad match-up, huh, Tsu?" The boy muttered down to the weapon held close to his chest.
Tiny post, I know, but I've not posted in a while and I need to get back into the swing of it ;) that and it might as well be early morning
Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Undyne - 11-03-2015 Alexyana was so focused on watching the battle going on below that she barely registered the movement near her. When Dawnika came close though she picked up her characteristic scent and raised her head a bit to look at her. "Sorry to see that you lost..." she wanted to say, but the words remained stuck in her throat. No, Dawnika wouldn't want pity from her, she was as proud a warrior as the dragoness herself. Actually, scratch that. She was a proud warrior. Alexyana was just a fighter. She locked eyes with her and didn't say a word when Dawnika finally spoke up. Even when Dawnika paused it took her a moment to reply "What would that be?" and let her go on afterwards. The request that then came up struck her completely unprepared. She forgot about the fight entirely and, for several seconds, just looked at Dawnika with her face an unreadable mask. Finally though, she sighed and held out one of her corndogs to her friend if she wanted to try them, as she prepared her answer with carefully chosen words. "Don't get me wrong, Dawnika, I would be... I'd be very happy for some company on my travels around this place. Especially from someone like you, who I know and have grown to value as a friend." She paused to give herself a moment to think, biting off a piece of her own corndog as she thought of her reply. She didn't want to hurt Dawnika's feelings, but she wanted to make her point: an act of balance that required very careful wording. "Here's the "but"... or well, the buts. First, I'm pretty much a harbinger of bad luck. Demons from my world aren't known for being the friendliest, and even in a world like this, far away from home, I can feel that part of me lusting for... mishief, I suppose. I want to make soul contracts again, to collect and harvest the spirits of those I make contracts with, to regain what few powers of a demon I used to have before coming here. I want to go beyond that, too. But in either case, making contracts and drawing upon my demon magic is going to cause backlash - it's part of the nature of a demon." Her lips curled into a smile. "And besides that... don't forget that I'm a dragon. You know, just now, when I was on my way to the spectator seats, I got a minor run-in with a pair of thugs. Dragon hunters, though they were pushovers compared to you or my opponent in the Colosseum. But I suspect that there'll be more where they came from. Even here in the Omniverse being a dragon is going to spell trouble for me." She eyed Dawnika, searching for reactions, but couldn't read her expression. So, she went on. "I draw bad luck to myself, and others near me won't be spared that. If you're seen together with me they might come after you too, and I don't want to drag you into this fight that isn't your own. You could protect me, but what advantage do you get out of it? I can at best teach you the demonic magic that I know, but I have no short-term goal or anywhere I want to be - outside of that I need to find someone who can teach me the magic I currently lack. You'd be tagging along on a quest that brings you just about no benefits, and you'd get into hairy situations sooner than you can imagine. You could instead meet up with that girl I battled - Courier, I think was her name. She's got weaponry that seemed similar to Axorn's, she could do much more for you than I can. And I'm sure that after our fight I could put in a good word for you." She wasn't entirely sure about that last part, but for her, a battle forged a chain between the contestants that could be as strong as a long friendship - or a deep rivalry. But Courier and her had fought as part of a tournament, not out of hatred for each other, so there might be a chance. Right? Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Jak Mar - 11-03-2015 Jak took his walk toward the spectators inside the arena and spotted a crowd of strangers, some familiar faces, some strangers. The only one of the group he'd met was Black Star. He had made it down the stairs and listened to the various conversations. None exactly about his match but he'd be the ice breaker at least. ".... Name's Jak.... ex Dynamite Kid anyways..." Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Gildarts - 11-05-2015 Gildarts checked the shine of his newly summoned arm before munching on the exotic dish introduced by his favorite Ambrosian Princess, and her Desco counterpart. Between a bite, he muffled, "This issh good!" Meanwhile, Molly scowled and bit the few farewell, "Gildarts! I expect to be next on your list, OR ELSE. Also, I demand mochi upon your return. MISS YOU, ya oaf! Ta!" The screen became black, and before Gildarts could fathom what had happened, the phone became a bracelet and wrapped around his wrist. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Dawnika Snow - 11-05-2015 Dawnika's usual flat expression shifted to a lighter tone, Alexyana almost got her to laugh a little. "Friends stick together no matter what. No matter if you draw bad luck to yourself, a true friend would stay with you through all the bad times." The demon girl's haed shifted to the fights, but she kept speaking after moving around a bit to get more comfortable. "In my world, the Akame suffer bad luck all the time. No matter who they were, if you weren't Akame, you were terrified of them in Quotin. I know about bad times. I've fought through two wars at home, and my friends were always with me. They are all dead now, but they never gave up, and neither will I. If you will allow me, I would gladly follow you toThe Light and back. Or, in your world, it would be equivalent to the 'hell' you spoke of." She rested her foot up on her other leg and rubbed her ankle. It was obvious she was in pain with her eyes squinting up due the pain. A sigh escaped her breath as she sat back and relaxed. "This is the first time I have got to sit back and relax in this world." Alexyana eyes shifted over to Dawnika. For once she didn't look completely serious about fighting, or upset about being drug into this world. In the corner of her eyes, the dragoness happens to notice a mark on Dawnika's back she never really noticed. "What happened to your back," she asked. "Is that an injury from your colosseum fight?"Her mood changed extremely fast. The scar on her back returns bad memories to her mind. "No, it is not from my previous fight. Years ago, my mother died, and I loved her so. My grief drove me to seek a way to bring her back, and unfortunately, I found a way. I fought The Phoenix Firebird. One of it's feathers would have revived my mother from death. I was quickly over powered, and my brother died fighting it with me. The scar on my back is a reminder of my mistakes in life, that is why I seek strength. I wont allow anyone to harm the ones I love, so long as I live." Dawnika slumped down in her chair and closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. Her mind wandered about the past. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Undyne - 11-05-2015 Alexyana frowned as she listened, and for another while she didn't reply to Dawnika although she held out her bag of "loot", as she called it, with the food she had bought at the Carnival if her friend wanted to help herself to anything. She eyed the ongoing fights without really focusing as she thought about things. "Perhaps in this world there's a way to bring them back. Your mother and brother, I mean." She then noted. "I mean, it's not impossible, right? This place seems to be based entirely on Omnilium, even the raw materials, the world around us, the very air we breathe, is composed from it. Why not we, too? I'm really getting into funny theories here, but... imagine that you could somehow bring back your mother, your brother, perhaps even other people, that way - using this Omnilium stuff. I found someone who... well, they seem to be theorizing about that sort of thing." "Who'd that be?" "Here, take a look for yourself. It's pretty wild." She held her hand up, palm pointing upwards and ignoring the bandages wrapped around it from her Colosseum injuries. A little flame appeared between her fingers, rapidly growing without any visible material to burn it, although the Energy Grid on Alexyana's arm was glowing ever so slightly because she channeled energy into it. The center of the flame then darkened out and displayed the Dataverse logo for a few seconds as it loaded up the Messageboards. "I made that thing after seeing a couple people use it on the Carnival outside. Mobile Dataverse Devices, they call it. It's pretty neat, honestly. Anycase, I found this... thing, it's kind of like a book, but without the pages. Here, see for yourself." She handed Dawnika the flame which turned out to be only slightly warm to the touch and not scorching or anything that a regular flame would do. The middle showed a Daaverse website blog which Alexyana had opened, passing the finger over it would allow one to scroll it up or down. "You've got to move your finger up and down along the surface to see more, it's pretty intuitive. Give it a try." However, the part that she was most interested in was already displayed: Quote:www.rogueninja.darkweblog.omni/research/"This person's writings all are about theorizing various parts of the Omniverse, in short... but what really interests me here is that you can summon people - and from the sound of it, that DOES include dead people or people that don't even exist at all." She passed a hand through her hair as she tried to find the right words. "I don't want to summon my mother or my siblings to this world if they can't be like myself, but the possibilities seem... well, just about endless, don't you think? You could perhaps bring back your mother and brother that way. Or perhaps speak to the faceless guy - Omni - if he could bring them to this world. He's gotta be somewhere, even if he's a god - even the Dark and Light Lords existed. Granted, in a big fortress protected by loads of powerful individuals which was hard to access, but they did exist. We could try to find a way..." Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Schwi Dola - 11-05-2015 Quote:For Guu, Desco, Gildarts! The trio finished their sushi. Guu finished up all the leftovers, first swallowing her giant sushi and then taking what Desco offered her of what was left. Desco had bought too much, after all. Yogsothoth faded away with the last sushi taken from him. With that all and done, it was time to do something! "Desco wants to explore a little before we go anywhere!" Guu's voice was flat as usual. "Okay. Sounds like fun." Desco led forward with Guu at her side and Gildarts behind. The crowd was big but they had no trouble walking along as a group. They had already eaten but notably observed the other food stalls along the way. If they could put it onto a stick and serve it, it was probably here somewhere. She led up to one simple game. The objective was obvious, at least to Guu and Desco. Gildarts, with his non-Earth origins may or may not have had encountered a similar game. But in a world of widely accepted and widely used magic surely there would be more complex ways to interest festival goers. Darts and balloons, throw a dart pop a balloon. "Let's do that one!" Desco walked up to the counter. "Come one come all! Throw some darts and win prizes!" The prizes hanging all over the edges of the stall were large stuffed animals of various kinds. "Hello there young ladies! 3 gold pieces for 10 darts! The more balloons you hit the better your prize!" "Desco wants to try!" With a smooth motion, the stall owner hit a button under the counter creating a set of stairs for someone short to step up on to for a more clear shot at the board. The young final boss climbed up the stairs one at a time and set 3 gold pieces on the counter. The guy set down a set of darts in front of her. "Try to get at least 3 balloons and you'll get something!" She picked up one and gave it a toss at the board. It bounced off the backdrop, a rocking setting with vines all over it. "Grrr..." Desco started throwing one after another faster now. Before she knew it, she had popped 4 balloons and had no darts left. "What a great try! Here is your prize, a piece of candy!" The man slipped a hand under the counter again and produced a big stick of lime rock candy. A young boy came out from nowhere and reset the board replacing the popped balloons and picking up the darts. "Who else? Perhaps one of your friends wants to give it a shot!" Desco looked at Guu and she shrugged, stepping up the stairs and providing the gold. "That's the spirit! Now remember, the more you hit the better your prize!" Guu stared at the darts for a few moments then she stared at the board. She picked up half of the darts with one hand and half the darts with the other. She stretched her arm back a little and launched the darts at the board, popping five, then the other set for another 5."Wow, I haven't had someone hit the balloons like that all day! Please miss, take any prize you want from out here." He pointed to the stuffed animals along the edge of the stall. Desco looked at them as Guu did. There were a bunch of big animals around the stall. Bears, elephants, dragons, giraffes, all oversized and cartoonish in appearance. "Take that one Guu! Or that one!" Desco pointed to different random dragons hanging above. Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Jade Harley - 11-06-2015 Quote:Sorry this took so long, Jak! Jade blinks at a long-eared newcomer to the stands, her lips pulling up into a friendly, buck-toothed grin as he introduces himself. “Hi, Jak! I’m Jade, it’s very nice to meet you.” This being said, she turns to look at Bec expectantly, but the white-furred wolfdog only stares blandly back at her. With a sigh, she shifts him further along the seat with her hip until he decides to get a move on and make room for their new friend to sit. When Jade turns back around in her seat, there is more than enough room for the Dynamite Kid to sit down next to her! Fixing the bottom part of her dress so that her skirt isn’t all bunched up around her grey and white stocking-striped legs, Jade pats the seat to her left with a few light smacks of her hand. “You’re welcome to sit here with me, if you’d like! Erik and I are having a super interesting conversation about the Omniverse, if you wanna join in.” Wow, she’s meeting so many cool new people today! This guy seems a little rough around the edges, though. In fact, Jade thinks she might have seen him duking it out with someone in the arena! Could this be orangeLightnin's friend? She might as well ask! "You wouldn't happen to know anyone who goes by the online handle of orangeLightnin, would you?" Jade questions Jak, her dog ears pricked up in attention. "They're in some serious trouble in the Dunes, although I think OL's mostly escaped any danger for now! Something that has to do with Nippur, and a guy called Victor Wolfe, if I'm remembering correctly." Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Jak Mar - 11-06-2015 The blondish green haired hero nodded and looked at Jade for a second as a seat was presented to him. He gladly accepted it and sat down next to Jade and Erik "Of course, what's the topic right now?" But Jak stopped in his tracks when he heard Jade talk about his friend Daxter's online handle. So he had been online? Jak gritted his teeth and turned "Wait, Daxter is in trouble in the dunes. Something to do with Nippur? No... Dax... Vic?! That man... i had his email from? What did Victor do to DAX? Explain.... Jak was seething, but he didn't want to hurt himself anymore than he was now. Another secondary had slowly made it down from the stands and was wearing a militarish like armor, with brown dreadlocks. He had face tattoos all over his face and the man raised a eyebrow, his voice tone deep "Jak, mind explaining what the hell's going on beside you losing to a white haired man?" Re: Colosseum - Spectator Thread - Gamzee Makara - 11-07-2015 Gamzee can breathe alright. I mean, it doesn't really look that way because of the hole in his stomach, but he can. S’nothing serious. I mean, his shouty friend keeps nagging and shouting and fretting, but it’s totally fine. Everything is fine. It is Karkat’s firm belief that everything is not fine. Gamzee fucking lost. Yeah, he’s still alive. That’s fucking fantastic. But Jesus, he’s hurt and he won’t go see or talk to any of the medics. Both Karkat and several different administers of the healing arts strongly advised medical attention, but the clown would not have it. It’s not even a pride thing, which would almost be somewhat understandable. He is literally attempting to shrug off a fucking stab/explosion/lightning/combustion wound. “Gotta watch and support my best human bro, bro.” Karkat fully blames Adam. This idiocy is precisely why they are making their way through the stands at this very moment. The crabby cancer is leading a stumbling Gamzee by the hand towards a pair of white fluffy ears easily visible in the crowd, leaving an overpowering aroma of grape soda as they go. The clown does his best not to drip blood on anyone’s clothes or feet or anything. As they reach the owner of the furry dog ears, the non-injured troll places a hand on her shoulder. “Jade, my god, It’s a fucking mess trying to get around in this place. I-” Karkat is abruptly cut off. A rather, er, well endowed female dog morph whose fur is white as snow turns around to face him. That is not Jade. “O-oh shit! I’m so sorry uh, ma’am,” The dog girl hides a giggle with her hand, causing a tidal wave of crimson to flood the alien teen’s cheeks. “C’mon G-Gamzee.” The fool, for all his credit, is busy trying not to stain the woman’s beautiful fur with his violet life-blood. Moving a respectable distance away from the girl mistaken for Jade, the Low-Blood scans the stands, searching for another pair of fluffy white ears. His ruby eyes lock onto a hooded figure with such ears sprouting out of the fabric. That’s GOT to be her. He begins an indignant march in her direction, duly noting the other space-garbed asshole next to her. A SBURB player. The teen tries to keep his eye from twitching. Sonofabitch, I swear to god if this is another murder-crazy psychopath, I’m going to be officially done with this stupid universe. The Low-Blood and his High-Blood companion gingerly take seats close to Jade, Karkat sitting in front of her, as both adjacent seats are now preoccupied. He doesn't exactly know why, but that bothers him a little bit. Let’s try this again. “There you are Jade! My god, It’s a fucking mess trying to get around in this place. And I don’t mean the blood,” He pauses to lean over and stare at the creepy little shit on the other side of Jade only to say rather bluntly, “Who’s this creepy little shit?” No filter on this guy. For now, he ignores the dude with the fruity color-scheme. He thinks that maybe that guy was in the tournament? He's not sure, he was too busy worrying and fretting over Gamzee's imminent death. Karkat has had too many encounters with fruity assholes. Besides, the space player looks marginally more creepy and possibly dangerous. It's just best not to divide his attention in too many places, shit gets confusing. “Honk,” The bard murmurs as he lays his head against his buddy’s shoulder. Everything still hurts. Smells like Grape Faygo. |
