Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 09-30-2015 "Something around that time, yes. But with this weird time distortion effect in this place we may need a week to complete our battle. Feel free to stab if you want, given the time I can heal up my injuries even if they're stab wounds." She nodded twice. "I'll try to avoid slashing too deep, apologies in advance if I accidentally break that promise." She hopped onto her Kumdo and followed after Dawnika once more, though she dismounted early so as to keep her mount at a distance from where the spar itself would happen. Once they were in position and Dawnika spoke, Alexyana listened while she summoned up a simple leather strap to tie her hair together behind her head into a ponytail, so that it would not get in her way too much. She froze when Dawnika mentioned her age though, and her eyes widened before she finished making a knot and let go* Fifty-seven winters? Woah... well, uh, just assuming that that's corresponding to a year by the standarts of my world, you deserve the first strike by almost threefold. I'm twenty-three years old." After finishing to speak, she took a deep breath and relaxed her muscles which were a bit tense after the ride to the Colosseum, before moving to around five meters away from Dawnika and shifting into a defensive stance: resting her weight onto her back foot, the front foot lightly on the ground, her right arm extended forward, palm pointed at her foe to defend against an incoming attack while her left hand was pulled close to her stomach and balled up into a fist. "While in Hell we go more by the rule of ambush rather than the rule you mentioned, I'll respect that. But I won't hold myself in check... nor do I expect you to." She offered another warm smile. "Wish you luck." Then her expression froze into a pokerface as she focused to anticipate Dawnika's first attack. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-01-2015 Quote:On an OOC note, Dawnika and Alexyana have had their spar. You can view it here. The thread continues right after the events. Alexyana waited for Dawnika to get up, until she heard her words and bit her lip. She couldn't smile - this spar had turned out more brutal than she'd imagined, and although she had won she didn't feel very happy about it. Regardless she came over, trying her best to not move her left arm or her waist more than what was necessary, until she stood next to Dawnika. "Good fight... you're a formidable opponent." She said. Then, after a brief pause during which both of them were quiet, she added: "Listen, we need some medical attention. My claws got you deep into your chest, and your sword cut into my body too. Things'll get worse if we don't care for 'em. At least lie down on your back, alright? Don't expose your injury to the dirty ground. I'll flip you over if you want." She then plucked out a scale that had cut particularly deep into her back and examined it. Apparently it had only dug in after her blood had already begun to dry, because there was next to no blood on it. She cleaned it a bit with her claw, then held it out to Dawnika with a little smile. "I know it's kinda odd that I'm presenting you with a piece of my own body, but... I want you to have it. As a token of friendship, you know." It was one of her back scales which were thick and durable, around half the size of the bottom of a mug, and shining with the dragoness's characteristic blue color when held in the light. While holding it out Alexyana already focused her mind to summon up a few rolls of bandages and some tweezers to clean up their injuries and patch them both up. She was taking it for granted that Dawnika needed help and would allow her to help her. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-01-2015 Dawnika was stubborn, but she knew better. If her wounds weren't treated soon, she would bleed out. She used all her strength to roll her self onto her back. Her breath was heavy and the wound was worse than it looked. If Alexyana had dug any deeper into Dawnikas chest she would have surely pierced her heart. Not to mention, Dawnika had over exerted her body with flurry of strikes and had made the wound even worse. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 "Hm." Since Dawnika didn't reply or take the scale Alexyana put it into her pocket for later use, then returned her focus to the bandages she was conjuring up and finally got to treating them both. She examined their injuries and cleaned them as best as she could starting with Dawnika, then patched her up as best as she could with generous amounts of the bandage. While she had to move her shirt out of the way to do so, the dragoness did what she could to not reveal more than what was needed and put things back into place when she was done. "Hang on, actually..." She held Dawnika's shirt together and, using more Omnilium, created fabric between the cut strands that caused the tissue to grow together once more. There were bloodstains left on it but she was covered up again. "There we go... try using your Omnilium to heal up, perhaps you can create new blood and grow your flesh together." She suggested. Then she sat down and got to work on her left arm, using the tweezers to pluck out scale shards or put them back into place if they hadn't broken off, before patching herself up by holding one end of the bandages between her teeth and firmly wrapping the rest of it around her arm. What she couldn't reach however was the injury on her back - even trying to reach it by turning to th sides caused her to wince. At least it wasn't bleeding anymore, though she didn't doubt that it was not a beautiful sight. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-02-2015 Dawnika still couldn't breathe that well, but she tried to focus on mending her wound. It was working, however it would take a while for it to completely patch up. Dawnika laid on her back still to injured to sit up. "...tell me about human weaponry. I will be stuck laying here for awhile." She tried to get her mind off her loss. This wasn't Xenithia, that's for damn sure. Dawnika was much weaker in this realm. Thois world supresses my abilities tenfold. I cannot take this lightly, if i do not train and work on becoming stronger, I will die. Although that big faceless god did say we would return after death. I am not sure that i want to experience death just yet. Her attention returned to the dragon woman. She only knew about human weaponry from history. She knew nothing about modern weaponry in the human world. Maybe they finally invented swords that could light into fire, or bow and arrows that could span over 200 feet. She was eager to hear her responsr as her wound healed naturally. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 "Human weaponry? I'm not sure how much what I know applies to this place. I'm seeing people and things that... well, they're very strange. And here around the Colosseum even moreso." She tried to reach around to her back to feel up her injury, but when pulling her shoulder to get there caused an increasing amount of pain she quickly dropped that idea. "The latest inventions from humans I have seen were magitech weapons, and something they called boom-powder. Both are rather recent developments though so I'm not sure if they evolved very much in my absence. But basically, magitech items combine magic power with technology, like enchanting a blade so it's harder to break, or wands which can fire certain spells with a sufficient amount of charges. And that boom-powder thing... basically it's a black powder that explodes when it's set on fire or when it gets shook violently. I saw a man drop a small box of it on the ground once, the explosion tore him apart in a split second." She shrugged unsurely. "But when I was at the Nexus I saw people before the other portals which had very strange items on them. I highly doubt that the humans of Ilan are more technologically advanced than other worlds. On the other hand, if this place balances us all out, I doubt that being more advanced will give you weapons that outmatch what we have." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-02-2015 She was silent as Alexyana spoke. Starring at the clouds her father crossed her mind. My father mention to me before about weapons that were like bows and arrows, only they are mechanical like. He said they could propel steel extremely fast. Fast enough to completely pierce hole through a persons body. Do you know of something like that? He talked about a...uh...rifle? Snu...Sni...? I was young...i cant remember it well." Dawnika was trying her hardest recollect her memories. She closed her eyes to try and help her remember, but she couldn't. Getting frustrated, she gripped the grass tightly and tore it out of the ground with an aggrivated grunt. "I cannot remember. My apologies, but have you heard of anything like this?" Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 "A weapon that propels steel so fast it pierces through someone's body? Uh... if you hadn't mentioned that last bit I'd have guessed you were speaking about a Crossbow. But I suppose that if you know about bows and arrows you also know about Crossbows. If not, they're similar to bows but they're more precise and have armor-piercing bolts, they're also easier to aim but they have huge knockback and require very long to reload. But perhaps... well, now that I think of it, some sort of controlled explosion made with bom-powder could allow small pieces of steel, like say, arrow tips, to be sent flying. But I doubt that it'd be strong enough to pierce through a body." She fell quiet for a little, then asked: "Hey... could you maybe help me with the injury on my back? You don't have to but I can't quite reach it without tearing it open again, and I need to get the scales removed from it so it can heal up properly." She held up the tweezers to indicate what she wanted Dawnika to do, provided that she would be willing to help. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-02-2015 Crossbow...sounds weird. Dawnika knew nothing about it, but what was the point of making something just like a bow and arrow? To her that was the most technologically advanced weaponry besides magic that existed. Dawnika looked up at the tweezers Alexyana was holding. She reached for them and slowly sat up. She had Alexyana sit in the grass infront of her and started to pluck out the scales stuck in the wound. Alexyana felt a little jolt as they were taken out of the wound. After all the scales had been taken out she began to clean out the wound in case it would have gotten dirty somehow. Afterwards, she bandaged up the wound the best she could. "There you go, that should work." She laid back down in the grass and took a deep breath, "finally, I can breathe. You musta pierced my lung slightly of something." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 Seeing her friend's puzzled look Alexyana smiled a bit. "I'll make you one with Omnilium if you want. They're pretty useful for ranged combat if you can aim them well... although archers think of them as being the "easy" variant of bows because they're quite easy to use and very effective in comparison." She then sat down as close as she could and presented her back to her, lightly wincing every time one of the scales was removed but she didn't complain. When the bandages were applied she passed it around her stomach and handed it to Dawnika on the other side until the entire roll was used up and properly tied together. "Thank you." The mentioning of having it difficult to breathe made her frown and turn back around. "You should've told me. I was going to slash less deep and wider, but I guess that in the heat of the battle I accidentally went too deep. I... I'm sorry about that." She moved up next to her and laid flat on the grass, belly down and resting her head on her arms. With her back stretched through the cut didn't hurt anymore and could start closing up more easily. She then focused her mind onto a point before herself, creating a crossbow as best as she remembered. It was a rudimentary design without any mechanism to rewind the string after firing it and only one bolt, but it was easy to make. Of course, that would take a little time, during which she wasn't able to talk as freely as before due to focusing. But, she could still listen. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-02-2015 "If I can survive a blade through my heart once, I can handle a lung puncture. Although, in this world I am more...uh...squishy. My body is not able to take attacks like in Xenithia. I also had my Shadow mend ability, however. Closed the wound so my heart could function properly still." Alexyana was fovusing on this weird device she had explained, yet still she wondered why such thing was invented when there are bows readily available. Dawnika was relatively queit as she summoned the crossbow. The only time Dawnika seemed to talk was when she had to, or when ahe was curious about something she didn't understand. Alexyana understood this so making conversation with Dawnika would be easy if she stuck to asking questions about Xenithia, or by talking about stuff from her world. "...Do you like your home universe? Do you miss being there at all?" Dawnika stared up into the sky like she had her mind on something. It was definately something that was really bothering her. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 "You can survive being stabbed through the heart? Damn..." She chuckled. "I got two hearts, or at least I used to before coming here, that might have changed since, but when both were stabbed I was a goner." By now the crossbow was just about done, she was just applying the finishing touches to it. Then she looked over to Dawnika whilst attaching the string to the arms, and rather than winding it up with a mechanism she simply pulled it back with her hand. Finally she loaded the bolt into the middle. "Here's how it looks like when ready to fire. All you gotta do now is aim it at your target and pull this lever here... that causes this thng sticking out here to withdraw into the wood, releasing the string which then sends the bolt flying." She carefully held it out to her if she wanted to try it. "I used a wooden bolt for it so you won't be piercing any iron armor with it. But I guess you can keep it if you want to examine it a bit more closely." At the next question, she propped herself on her right elbow and hmmed. "That's a good question... a very good question, even. But... well, there's my family, and even if we didn't have the best of relationships when I left I do miss them. And the world, even though the people on it were mostly hostile towards me, it was my homeworld, you know what I mean? I knew the place. This here is all... new and unknown. In a way it's cool because new and unknown means adventure, opportunity and fun, but at the same time a lot of things were taken from me to bring me here." She eyed the bracelet on her arm, stroking over its surface. "I was able to contact my family using this ring, but it expended a lot of energy to do so and I don't know how to recharge it. And even if so, it's only a means to communicate through distance, not a ticket home." She shrugged and looked at Dawnika again. "What about you? Do you miss home?" Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-02-2015 Dawnika took the wooden object and observed it closely. Still she was unable to understand, all the fuss over a larger piece of wood that replaces a bow and arrow? She held it side ways like a normal bow. "Aiming it is quiet tough when the handle is made on the side of the bow. Maybe I'll stick to arrows, not bolts." With that she aimed it and shot the bolt at a nearby tree. She was way off however because she was aiming the crossbow like a normal bow and the handle was out of place. The bolt flew by her target and wasn't even close to making contact. "I could've shot an apple off a branch from that tree with Kage Ochikochi." When Alexyana mentions her feelings about being stranded, she was sort of reluctant. "Well it hasn't been even 24 hours since my father and uncle died. I was the last of royal blood in Xenithia until a King is reborn. Although, we have a system for this. Our king is the greatest fighter in all of Xenithia, so to become royal blood is not by birth. To become royal blood, that person must prove they are strong enough to lead. The challenge our king to combat through a ruled system. Practically, the winner is whoever can make their opponent yield. Since my father just died, I am queen of Xenithia, which means I would have just lost my title. That is why I did not stop when you tore open my chest. I called upon my rage to ignore the pain, like my father taught me. Still, I had to yield, or die. Although, should the king die with no heir, and no challenger to take their place, our military general takes charge of the country and becomes King, or in the current case, my best friend Kaylee will become Queen." It was a lot to understand, but she hoped Alexyana understood their system. "However, I did not answer your question. Yes. My people just broke free of war and they needed me. Here I am now, stuck in a world where there is no way back. I will never see Kaylee, Ellise or Nate ever again, and my people have lost their benevolent King and Princess. I just hope that in all of this, Nyx will still watch over me, and my father." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 "A crossbow handles differently from a bow. Try using it some more when you got time, I promise you it's worth the effort." Was all that she replied. Dawnika was bringing up something that she didn't want to talk about now that they had a different subject to talk about that she was more interested in. "So in essence, the person who can hold the throne is the King or Queen... as long as they're able to win against those who challenge them for leadership? It's a similar system to what has established itself in Hell, though your people's system seems to be more about who is the most fit to lead, rather than who's the strongest tyrant to force everyone else under their heel." She bared her teeth momentarily at the mention of having taken the title from her and eyed Dawnika with mild anger, which also reflected itself in her voice. "I won't have any of it. We had a training battle with no strings attached on EITHER end, Dawnika. I wouldn't have fought you if you't told me all this before our battle and I knew that I would put your rule at risk in the event that I won." Her voice turned slightly more mild after that initial outburst as she continued. "I'm... not a fan of systems, especially if they drag me into them somehow. Sorry, I made that sound harsher than I meant to be. But I'm holding onto what I said - we had a battle which is over now, no consequences. Outside maybe of a handful of injuries for both of us." She rested her head back on her arms. "If your people need a ruler, they'll find one. There may be casualties because you disappeared, but there may also be someone who will take your place and hold things together while the Akame recover. If they entirely depend on a single person to not be wiped out... well, forgive me for being so straightforward, but if they are this dependant of an individual they're doomed from the start." Of course, this was based on her own knowledge - he Akame may be something entirely different, the laws of nature in Dawnika's world may be something completely unknown to Alexyana. But, she trusted that Dawnika would make that out herself if it indeed applied. "And don't forget that you and I just barely arrived here. There may be a very easy way out that we just don't realize exists because we didn't ask. And like I said, if there's a way in there's also a way out. Always." Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - King Axorn - 10-02-2015 As Axorn exited the portal he pulled hard on the horse's reigns forcing it to skid to a stop. He had arrived in Camelot, six tall gray stones surrounded him, making the portal visible from a distance and a long forking, winding path shot out ahead of him in the middle of the green plain. Far in front of him he could see the spires of Minas Tirith's towers and the coliseum to the south. Axorn inhaled a breath of the fresh air and sighed. Kinda feels like home... he thought. Axorn spurred his horse onward, forcing it into a gallop. He dashed past lush, green forests teeming with deer, rabbits, and other wildlife, some of which Axorn didn't recognize, mountain ranges with white snowy peaks and deep sparkling lakes with the occasional fish or two. As another forest loomed on his right, he heard voiced, both of which seemingly female. Curious, Axorn slowed his horse down to a moderate trot and manouvered through the trees, he eventually cam to a clearing where his suspicions were confirmed, two females, one human with black hair and a long sword, the other a female draconic figure with ram horns, hair, and no wings, neither of which had noticed him yet. They were both bandaged, clearly healing from some sort of recent fight. The latter of the two is the one that puzzled Axorn the most. She's some sort of half-breed, he thought. Those horns symbolize something I can't quite put my claw on. Before he got a good look at either, he saw the human holding a crossbow directly at him. "CRAP!" Axorn yelled. Thus caused the two to look in his direction. Startled, his instincts took over and he attempted to fly, as he tried to shoot up, his feet caught on the saddle loops, causing him to fall off the back of his chestnut-colored steed before landing with a loud thud. Axorn rolled behind a nearby tree and stood up, unsheathed his trusty gunblade and prepared himself in case they were hostile. How am I going to figure out whether they're friend or foe? he thought. Wait a minute! Axorn shout out wall of cool flame at the ground halfway between him and the female figures, igniting on the grass, but not burning it. "I don't want to hurt you." Axorn said, watching attentively from behind the tree. "If you are to be trusted, I need you to trust me. Walk through the fire without using a defensive power. I promise you, the fire will not burn you. If you don't, I will attack." Quote:In case you want to know what a cool flame is, it does exist. Link to the wikipedia article Read the History section... :P Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-02-2015 Dawnika looked over at Alexyana after her sudden snap. "No you don't understand, you could NWVER lead Xenithia so my title stays. The only people who can challenge the crown, are the Akame themselves. Why would we let another race rule our country?" Dawnika was cut oof when suddenly there was loud thump in the forrest to their south. Then the ground ignited into flames and a male voice projected accross it telling them to walk through the flames. She was skeptical and she knew about cool flames. They would not hurt her, yet there was only one problem: Dawnikas lung was healing up still. She knew that if she stood ahe my start to bleed again. She called out to the voice. "I cannot currently stand. If you wish me to show I am not hostile, take my sword as a sign of my docile state. I hope you have the honour to not attack an unarmed target." She did not know where Axorn was exactly, but she threw her sword across the flames and it dig into the ground. Dawnika continued to lay where she was only hoping that Axorn would accept herpeace offering. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-02-2015 "I meant that - wha?" She herself looked up a moment after Dawnika when the voice spoke to them and she involuntarily bared her teeth. While the injuries on her arm and back hurt her so, just like Dawnika, she was pretty much stuck to the ground, she pushed herself back to her knees to get a look at whoever it was that was disturbing them. "You're the one coming to us, stranger. It should be us asking you for a token of trust." She added to Dawnika's statement though she made a point to not make her words sound offended. She honestly was surprised at the stranger's boldness. "I'm just about like my friend, I can't move around much. But if you give me a moment..." She used her right hand to push herself to her feet while being very careful to keep her back straight and not move her left arm. Easy now... "Hey, Dawnika. If this stranger turns out to lure me into a trap and I don't see him, try to remember what he looks like so we can bash his face in another day." She then walked towards the flames and stopped briefly before them, examining them for a moment before she stepped right on through. Had they been Curse Flames or some other form of fire, she would have smelled it - probably, anyway. Because she walked past she also could take a peek at the stranger, and in return he was able to see her. She walked past Dawnika's sword and possessively wrapped her tail around the hilt. "I'll take that if you don't mind." She said but didn't pick it up yet, waiting for the other's approval. He's draconic... either that or he's some mixture of avian and reptile race. A Wyvern maybe? "We don't want any troubles, but don't think we can't fight if you come seeking us. Otherwise, welcome." We showed him we trust him... now let's see if he trusts us. Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - King Axorn - 10-02-2015 Axorn stepped out from behind the tree, sheathed his gunblade and inhaled, snuffing out the wall of fire. "Alright, I trust you..." he said sincerely, looking from one to the other. He still wondered about the significance of those ram horns on the dragon half-breed. "Let's just hope neither of us ever has to break it. So, why don't we start by introducing ourselves. I'm Axorn, king of the Draconian race where I'm from it seems neither of you fall under that category though. I was headed towards the tournament at the Colosseum when I heard the two of you talking in the woods, so I came to investigate. So, who are the two of you, and what are you doing in the middle of the forest?" Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Dawnika Snow - 10-03-2015 "I am Dawnika Snow, one of the beastial Akame that possess the blood to make their emotions power. I am Queen of Xenithia, the Akame country, in the world of Quotin. I happen to have just lost a fight with my friend here and suffered a nasty lung injury in which I must lay on the ground to keep it from openig again or something of the sort." She rose her hand to signify herself. "Kagetsume, fade."Her sword washed away into the air like a black mist. Dawnika turned her head to examine the new dragon figure. His blade caught her eyes curiosity. It was more...complex that just a sword. "That sword looks...intricate. I've never seen a blafe so complexly built. What is it?" Re: On the Road to Colosseum (Open) - Undyne - 10-03-2015 While Dawnika was examining the other's sword, Alexyana responded. When Axorn had mentioned his title, the dragoness's eyes had first widened a bit with surprise, then narrowed. She was displeased, and she wasn't hiding it in the least. "I'm Alexyana Umbranox, Dragon Demon and hailing from the kingdom of Ilan. Like Dawnika said, we've just had a little training fight which got somewhat out of hand, but we plan on heading the the Colosseum like you, as soon as we feel better anyway." She waved her hand around. "We backed away a bit from the rest of the people to avoid getting unwanted spectators. As for your title: I hope you don't assume that it gives you any power around here, or over... either of us. I don't know what Draconians are, but from the sound of the word and your physical similitude to the dragons from my homeworld I imagine that they may be the same or a similar species." She backed away a step, then turned around and walked back to Dawnika to take a seat. She waved to him to come join them though, if he wanted to, and by now her Kumdo and Konlal had approached their owners again and were idly standing by, waiting for orders and occasionally taking a bite of grass. |
