I personally have a reason to dislike the Empire (Who doesn't) .

The Horsemen are pretty much 'mercenaries' with their own agenda. Our initial alliances/ambassadors have been made with, The Ninja Village and Ambrosia.
It's a respect thing. The only other ties Horsemen have with, are with New Babylon from Dante's Abyss.
And they will get an egg one day....
