Re: What do you want? - PepsiWhirda - 09-11-2013

Ganondorf Wrote:Kenshin: Post in the storyline request thread on this board and a member of staff will give you something to do. :p

Whirda: Don't worry. The current factions are always going to be doing SOMETHING. If you'd like someone to try recruiting you in your storyline, you're welcome to write it or someone from staff can, if you post a request in the request thread.

Magus: Omni will get on that shortly.

Proto: I also tried to get Omni to revamp the Aether Saga. He's against it, at the moment, though if we get enough support he'll probably buckle.

I meant more along the lines of increasing the stakes. Not soon, cause people are still beginning to explore the Verses they picked, but in a subversive way keep us reminded that we're a commodity to be stockpiled whether the leaders of Coruscant and Camelot say so overtly or not. The idea of us being the proverbial arms in a nuclear race is very cool to me.

You'll hafta wait and see if that's what happens or not. Once again, you're welcome to write it into your storyline, if you'd like, or have a staff member do so for you. As for now, you can assume the factions are gonna stay out of your life, if you want to write without interference, or that they'll be keeping tabs on you, if you want a little intrigue.

Re: What do you want? - Magus - 09-11-2013

Absolutely no rush, Greg.

I replied to your post and left it open to you because I really don't know what you have in mind. I will say this, though, to stay in character I really didn't have a choice XD.

Part of me thinks you were banking on that, ha.

Thought this was a what do you want thread, silly billy. :mygod:

Re: What do you want? - Ganondorf - 09-11-2013

It is, of course. I just can't give you the answer on it, definitively.

Re: What do you want? - PepsiWhirda - 09-11-2013

God forbid. Keep me in the dark like a proper American leader should. Smile

Re: What do you want? - Ganondorf - 09-11-2013

It'd be no fun if I spoiled everything for you, would it? Like knowing the end to a movie before you watch it. Tsk tsk, Whirda. Tsk tsk.

I'll just say that, yes, the factions still want you on their side and they will do things if they think it will sway you one way or another.

Re: What do you want? - Omni - 09-11-2013

I was just going with the characters too, Magus. What I love about this setup is that I can throw people out pretty game-changing stuff like this, and it simply entails doing what each side would logically do. I've been thinking about this setting for years, so the eventualities are all there, in my head.

For future ref, if you guys want me to play the NPCs, let me know via PM. That's for any topic. I pretty much always read posts as soon as they come up, but I don't always assume someone wants me to respond. I'll add this whole "requesting admin response" deal to the rules thing shortly. Wink

Re: What do you want? - Proto Man - 09-11-2013

But neither Aether Saga finished! It's not a remake if the set burned down twice!

;P

Re: What do you want? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-14-2013

Planned stry vs. Reactionary story query

If, for example, I wanted to write a big story arc all on my lonesome (or with a few friends) and took actions that might not quite make sense in a SMARTNESS kind of way, but works very well in this big PLANNED story I have, I'm kind of scared of getting punched in the dick by plot oversight coming in and messing with my story.

Yes, I know keeping a local locked in a shed somewhere is probably a bad idea. Sinestro is gonna do it anyways, and I have plans as to how hat fits into my story and the cool, well-written repurcussions of my actions are integral to my story. I really don't want Roland to wander in and be like WHAT THE SHIT and have me banished. That would be no fun for me.

So, I guess I mean, do we HAVE to treat every post as an action in an interactive RPG with the expectation that consequences may come of them, or can I rite a STORY, turn THAT in, and get responses?

Re: What do you want? - Omni - 09-14-2013

It depends on how blatant you are. Murders are disappearances happen all the time, and people get away with it. If you wander into the middle of the town square and kill a bunch of people while singing "It's me, Deadpool!" then I'll jump in whether you like it or not. Otherwise, I'll only interfere if you ask me to. If ever in doubt with that kind of thing, shoot me a PM, but generally it's as it says in the Notoriety page (which I've added more detail to over time).

Re: What do you want? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-14-2013

Cool cool, I'm glad we're rolling that way and not the other Big Grin

Re: What do you want? - Omni - 09-14-2013

It's just about establishing a baseline level of believability. For most folks it's not a problem, for others they just want to run about murdering everyone and the authorities to just be incompetent buffoons. It's like, on Chubbs I had Super Buu be an asshole. Once, after getting killed in Dante's Abyss, he went nuts and killed a bunch of people in the DA building. So he got captured, had power restrictors put on him, and went to prison IC (where he stayed for years, and I never unfortunately got the chance to write that story). Obviously, that was something I chose to do, but it's a similar kind of thing. Killing someone out in the boonies? Likely, not gonna come back to bite you anytime soon (or if it does, it's your prerogative to write it).
