Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 By winning over, I assume you mean putting the fear of Omni into them and bending them to our will. In TTWN, obviously we'd need to be covert and work the system, but in the desert... these guys only respect strength and domination. As for the Joker, before we set anything in stone, let's see how Omni is going to handle his situation. We're running on the assumption that he'll be thrown in prison... first, let's see if he actually is, or if he manages to work out a deal on his own. From there, we can figure out how to incorporate our stories together. If Joker is down we can totally do this, and he said he was! So all parties agree. As far as winning over the locals goes, not EVERY bandit is just some blood thirsty psychopath. I bet there's plenty of bandits and psychos out there who are just as pissed off at Corrusant as they are at the world at large. Some of them can truly be won over by appealing to them, and the remainder can be savagely beaten into submission, yes? And having the grit and skill to bust a dude out of Impel Down is badass enough as is. Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Joker Wrote:Let's just see where Omni takes us in the post. I'm not saying let's not work together - but I don't want to force anything. There are a lot of ways to work together. If you have to force a way for your characters to do something, then it's not happening naturally. This was the last thing Joker said about this, so we need to wait and see still. Even so, I appreciate the plans you've been putting out there. But, we don't need to force this, especially since The Joker still seem iffy about it, and I'm thinking something like this wouldn't logically happen for our characters until we've at least established ourselves a bit in the Dunes. You are, of course, welcome to go about your own thing, I won't force you to go along with Ganon's plans. You have your own character to look after. But, for now, Ganondorf is going to be focused on creating a power-base in the Dunes and bringing as many people as possible under his banner. Rescuing other Primes, especially those he doesn't really know (which is pretty much everyone but Link), isn't going to be something he'll get on board with. I'm sorry, Thaal. Re: Prison Break? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-05-2013 Ok, all I really wanna do is write with and collaborate with people or else I'd just sit in my room and write shit alone. Would you liek to collaborate on something or should I start looking elsewhere? It doesn't have to be the prison break but I'm gonna need some kind of actual story plan to get anything out of writing here lol Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Well, my initial plan was to take over the TWNN from Roland and start bring order to the lawless desert from there. It's a fairly... skeletal plan, of course. The reason for this is because I want to be able to do other things and incorporate other ideas while doing this. A secondary plan would be to start out in the desert and eventually come in conflict with the TWNN, but that seems just slightly out of character for my more subversive Ganondorf. Now, I'm willing to include you, and anyone else in these plans, but I'm definitely moving forward with them from the get go. Before I do anything else, I want to have either Deschain's "trust", or have a Base in the desert from which we can operate. If you want on board, that's fine. If not, you haven't actually said where you're going yet in The Scramble, so I suppose you could go along with some of the others and pitch ideas to them. Any story ideas you've got cooking? Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Well, like I said, first we get to the TWNN. Once there, I actually was planning a humorous interlude involving a Magic Mike situation, but it would really work better if we had a female character along for the ride. I might still do it, for a refreshing change of pace from all the evil and what not. From there, we head out into the desert to find our own place. Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Or stay and build up our reputations. Re: Prison Break? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-05-2013 Ok, so travel story would be on the chopping block first, yes? Any plans about that? Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 I assume we'll just start as we enter the gate to The Endless Dunes. Honestly, I don't have anything too solid on the plate for it. Possibly a greeting from Roland telling us the few rules they have in the TWNN. I'll work one something more solid later on. Re: Prison Break? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-05-2013 So not really a lot of conflict, just kinda "Hey, this is where we are!" kinda deal? Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Well, since we're doing this together, give me some of what you'd like to see. Like I said, I have a skeleton of a plan going on, and a goal of where I want Ganondorf to be in a year or two. That's about it. For everything else, I take inspiration from my life and from others. Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Also, remember, if we ever get to the point where we don't know how to progress, we can ask for a Storyline from Omni in the appropriate thread. Just for filler and such. Re: Prison Break? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-05-2013 Ganondorf Wrote:Well, since we're doing this together, give me some of what you'd like to see. For everything else, I take inspiration from my life and from others.Aight, I didn't wanna mess with any of your plans or anything xD But perhaps as we're going there we get are waylayed by bandits, and we perhaps overcome them. Ganon, being a brilliant dude, gives the goons some pseudonyms and says that they're going to be at TTWNN. Now we go there and start spreading our pseudonym around and where we're staying. Then the bandits come to gets revenge with the rest of their posse, and we beat them up in the name of "Truth and Justice" or whatever. We start getting a positive reputation with the people of TTWNN. MEANWHILE, Thaal and Ganon can go and start pushing the goons around, starting to get some influence there as badasses who have come to take over the racket. So, in the end, we have bandit bosses coming to us to get merc'd in TTWNN and raising our reps there while playing the other side of the coin and gathering up the disparate bandits and starting a posse. Sound decent? Re: Prison Break? - Thaal Sinestro - 09-05-2013 and really, that's not like we're making great leaps and bounds with that story, either. It's a nice, intermediately paced story that doesn't assume too much so that Omni can toss wrenches, etc. Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 I've always been more of a big picture guy, so since you're very detail oriented, this join-up should work well. And yeah, that's perfect. Though, I doubt we'll need pseudonyms. We're unknowns here anyway. I'd rather have the bandits associate Thaal and Ganondorf with badassery than some made up names, because that sets us up well for when we take over and start using our actual names anyway. I doubt Omni will have any problem with it either. From my understanding, however, this whole process is going to take awhile. As in, I doubt we'd be able to wrest control of the TWNN any time in the immediate future. More like at least a year before we can even consider it. Probably not until we make it to Tier 2, at least. As far as pseudonyms go, if we can use pseudonyms with the bandits and our real names with the TTWNN citizens, it will prevent our shady actions from coming back to us. If Roland catches wind of 2 new crime lords in the sands beyond the city called Yellowbelly and The Boar he's less likely to come lookign for us than if he hears that Thaal and Ganondof, the new town heroes, are associating with bandits. Re: Prison Break? - Ganondorf - 09-05-2013 Ah. That's fair then. Though, it might behoove us to focus either on the town or the bandits, for the time being. Doing both has a high risk of backfiring on us. Once we win over one faction or the other, we can work on dominating the remaining populace. I would say that we should at least establish ourselves in one place first before we do anything in the other. That way, they can truly say that it's unlikely that these two people who've been there awhile and are well-known are playing both sides of the field. |
