Additionally, why is anyone from the GY Verse precluded any more than they had been before? If they pop out of the GY and see a bunch of artefacts lying around, why wouldn't it make sense that they'd fight for them?

Because the runners of the GV verse are the ones who made the decision to send the runners-up back to the Nexus where they could be attacked by anyone. It's therefore unfair to benefit on their own characters. It's not something that will ever happen in the future if I'm involved, but I will at least preclude any self-benefiting.

I'm not particularly interested in the artifacts. I am only interested in the punishment of the people who killed me. I'm unsure how Omni wants to handle this, but Smith won't let Sasuke, Orihime, or Victor leave alive. I'll leave it up to his judgement though.

Ok, so check on learning to make sure I understand what's going on real quick:
1: Sasuke quit, but we'll be holding a fight for the Artefacts on Monday, when the fight was previously scheduled for, with all the previously listed rules.
2: Atelos and Yu can post, but they can't effect the outcome of the fight, and can't win the Artefacts for reasons of conflict of interest.
3: Sasuke and friends aren't going to show up at all
Right?

Because there's no chance at a fight, can the people that bought items, moves and things like preparation for the fight have refunds? Sasuke accepted the challenge and had two weeks to plan only to renege a day and a half before the fight, so I feel like it would be fair to the people who would like to the people who followed the rules laid out by Omni had an opportunity to get back to their previous plans to spend OM. I was planning on getting everything I bought anyways, so it really doesn't apply to me so much as it does other people, but I know some people derailed other plans to buy stuff to prep.
On a personal note, does this count as a defeat for the purposes of Ascension for LAW in the Dunes?

Ururu is done with the fight, I'll keep her around to see Sasuke dealt with before she even jump in to save him but after that she will leave. No joining the fight for her.

@ Omni: Smith's goal in this was the death of Sasuke, Orihime, and Victor. With this conclusion to this "fight", what will come of that? I know Victor and Sasuke are going to be gone for awhile, and that the former (at least) can stay in the GV until he gets back. But will Smith be able to get his vengeance?

Those who aren't able to fight are just going to get gibbed, I'm afraid. I imagine that's not what either the challengers nor the defenders wished, but I haven't a lot of other options given the logic involved. There will be no banishment, due to IC 'accidents' if necessary. Those who are away will then have all the time they want to get back to posting.
