Re: Move Creation Workshop - Ruby Rose - 11-29-2015

I would say yes, you do need Homing as you're concentrating on directing an attack at someone. You will also need to have area attack proficiency if you plan to spread the attack among a large group of opponents. Another staff may correct me if I'm wrong here.

So, I've been thinking about Rider and his Noble Phantasm; Ionioi Hetairoi.

Now, I bring this up in the move creation workshop because I'm trying to figure out how to balance it for use in the Omniverse. It's difficult and any help would be appreciated.

Kakashi Hatake Wrote:What is the rate of fire for this? How 'powerful' are the shots? Stats determine damage obviously, but I mean are you thinking like a regular .9 millimeter semi-auto kind of thing or like a higher-damage revolver style?

You don't need to have Crescent 2.0 to use Pistol Form as Crescent is an alt form. You certainly could use them together if you wanted the stat difference at the time, though. Also all of your current moves could likewise be paired with Crescent 2.0 at no additional charge.

Alright, edited, but Pistol Form is ONLY for 2.0, because the original scythe accomodates the rifle form, not the pistol form, canonically.

*nods* S'cool. Just letting you know that there's nothing stopping you from using those moves with the alt form. If you wanna make it that way in-character, that's up to you.

I think I had seen you talking about this in the mini-chat the other day and you had mentioned maybe making this an 'illusion' that effects a target. This would probably be the best route in my opinion. Causing the foe to hallucinate an enormous army charging them and flinging spears and such. It'd be a Super Move obviously, but if you play it that way it's definitely doable. 'Cause summoning a thousand soldiers isn't really doable in any other way. =P

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Dave Strider - 12-01-2015

Alright, this one is gonna get complicated, but I need it hella refined because its going to be the base of a lot of stuff and have a huge affect on Ryner.

Curse of the Alpha Stigma(Berserk mode) Power Up Form

ATK:
DEF:
SPD:
TEC:

Ryner's eyes become stamped with the glowing insignia of the Alpha Stigma, as he loses control of his power. It starts with an initial blast that destroys much of anything in a 10 meter radius, and takes 5 seconds to enter this state. In this state, he will often commit crimes or actions he wouldn't normally do, including attack allies and kill innocents. He moves much slower, but his power grants him increased damage and abilities. He will not block as often, and attack with no discretion. Because of this immense power, Ryner has the chance of over exerting himself in combat. Staff must roll a 1d5, with a 5 allowing Ryner to recover from his curse and regain his regular status. This is is done at the end of each round, and if Ryner cannot recover before he runs out of sp, he exerts all of his energy an dies in a large explosion covering a 20m radius. If Ferris is accompanying Ryner, a 1d4 die is rolled instead.

Berserk Mode moves:

Eye laser(300, Ranged, area attack)
Ryner stands still and emits a dark red laser from either of his eyes, which deals heavy damage as it sweeps in a 30 degree radius in front of him for up to 20 meters.

Strorm destructionSad300, ranged materialize, ranged, area attack)
Scattered eruptions of lava come up from the very ground as Ryner stands in place, screaming at the skies for destruction. Each burst is a meter in radius, and occurs twice randomly every second within a 50 meter radius for 10 seconds.

Destruction sphere(600 Area shield, Area Atttack, debuff)
Ryner creates a red sphere around where he is standing that extends 1 meter per second for 10 seconds, and last for another 5. Ryner cannot move during this time. This red sphere slowly deteriorates those who remain inside it, eating at their existence. Most projectiles are destroyed upon entering this sphere.

Destroy Existence(Tier 1 Super 600, Physical Strength, Debuff?)
If Ryner is able to grasp an opponent while he is in berserk mode, he will execute a blast which tears apart the very existence of his victim. It can completely obliterate extremely weak opponents, but most secondaries and primes will find that a large portion of their body(most likely a limb) will be severely damaged, and in most cases, useless to fight with or use.

I will be editing this post and adding stuff to it as I refine the moves and such, but yeah, this probably needs a LOT of editing for balance and such.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Miranda Frost - 12-02-2015

lol first time using this thread. I've had an idea of a sword for Miranda that her brother currently wields. Needs a name but i'll hold a separate thread for help with that

??? (Requires Physical Strength): This sword passed down generation after generation down her family line, and previously named frostbite by her brother, is a large, double "edged" broadsword at 6 feet in length and 6 inches in width. Despite its rather plain appearance, one can clearly notice its lack of a proper edge. In the edge's place is a slot. the cutting edge is housed inside the sword by mechanical workings. If she were to twist the handle the sharp edge would be released and the sword would increase in width to a foot. The two halves of the bladespring out revealing a bit of its mechanical interior with a large black gemston placed in the center of the blade just above the hilt. From about two feet from the tip the blade is split leaving a a gap four inches wide leading to a chevron-shaped blade in the middle of the sword. Typically a ceremonial blade marking the wielder as the proper head of the Frost family, however the mysterious and miraculous nature of the Omniverse makes the weapon viable.

Now for pricing: would it be considered two moves since it has two modes of use? It doesn't use any other proficiencies (yet), so could the other mode of use be considered rp fodder?

And then the Super (tier 1) w.i.p

???/Black-ice: Miranda sync's her soul (and the angelic shard-spirit within it) with the black gem housed in the center of the blade. The blade "glows" in a black light which is focused on the sword's edges until the light is condensed to a fine line along the edge. This greatly increases its cutting power.

Now as i've never made a super, the context of such moves is beyond me. Is it simply a wider, bigger attack or is it a more powerful attack. If its a more powerful attack, by what extent is its stopping power increased? To gain the maximum firepower i can with this attack, i plan on having it account for one slash of the blade. Any help or input on this one would be appreciate it.

Keep in mind that buying all these moves for a power up will greatly limit your character. The moves it selves seem fine and you will need the debuff proficiency with the super move.

The idea of having a staffmember roll to break out of your berserk mode is a fun idea brings the helplessness of the character to live. Me personally wouldn't mind if this was asked of me.

I will however give you the following idea if you want to use berserker mode more often. ( seeing as transformations / powerups cost SP to use you will run out in 1 or 2 post, especially when you use a super move during this as well. ) If you were to buy Berserker mode as a normal move, without the stat increases you will have access to all of these moves more regularly. When he gets serious or REALLY loses it during a fight, go power up and use the full extent of his power. This way it gives you more RP freedom. Just an idea though, don't want you to limit your character too much.

Gauntlet Computer: 0 OM, updated explaination of mobile Datverse device, Communicator and Connor's invisibility (stealth),

It is a keyboard inset into a black glove that covers the entire arm, at the left long side of the rectangular keyboard is a holo-screen generator. It is worn on the left arm and dispenses small ear pieces connected to a closed frequency that is ran by the glove. Additionally, by a simple button press it renders the wearer invisible.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Black☆Star - 12-05-2015

Methinks, on the premise that you already own these powers/items, you're set to explain them as you wish Smile

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Sarah Kerrigan - 12-06-2015

Infernal glare - 600 OM:

Raal stares forward at an enemy target, glaring for a few seconds as energy charges in his eyes, before letting loose twin red blasts of energy from his eyes. These blasts scorch with intense heat and inflict burns on the area they strike. Raal is capable of glaring for 1-3 seconds before firing the blasts in a straight pattern from his eyes. Raal's eyes glow brighter the longer this ability is charged, giving warning to the attentive that he is about to use this power. The blasts are about mach 1 in speed(About a third the speed of the average bullet) and are aimed wherever Raal is looking. Raal will prematurely fire this if he is suddenly injured or caused to lose his focus midway through charging it, causing the blast to fire wherever he is looking at the time.
Raal is also capable of "feinting" the attack by glowing his eyes without actually firing anything from them, in order to fool those looking for an opening. The glow from this is more constant, however, rather than increasing in intensity as it does when he truly wishes to fire this attack.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Tartaros - 12-07-2015

I got a couple I'd like looked at. I'm fairly confident in the Volkite move, but you can never be too sure.

Volkite Serpenta - 600 OM - requires Ranged Proficiency, Area Attack Proficiency and Debuff Proficiency

The Volkite Serpenta is an ancient pattern of weapon, dating back thousands of years. As with all Volkite weapons, the pistol fires a beam of intense, concentrated heat energy towards the target, either cleanly cutting through flesh or causing a violent burst of fire and ash depending on its setting.

The first "light" setting fires in singular bursts, much in the manner of a plasma gun or laspistol, simply burning its way through armour and flesh. The second setting, on the other hand, fires a singular straight beam of heat that burns and violently bursts matter into burning ash, though it is more difficult to control and overheats the weapon more easily.

Technical details:
Battery capacity - 15 shots
Fire rate - 1 round/second or a constant beam
Max range - 75 meters
Reload speed - 3 seconds
Boarding Shield - 300 OM - requires Area Shield Proficiency and Physical Strength

[Image: FW_LEGION-MKIII-BREACHER-SIEGE-SQUAD-3.jpg]

The predecessor to the highly advanced Storm Shield, the humble Boarding Shield is a simple plate, comprised primarily of ceramite and plasteel. More than capable of blocking most forms of projectile and melee attacks, it quickly gained popularity for its usefulness in cramped, dangerous locations, like the halls of a starship. Despite this however, the design is marred by its size and weight, making it difficult to carry for long periods of time.

Paralyzing Palm - 300 OM - requires Physical Strength and Debuff Proficiency

Gripping the target, usually by the arm, Tartaros thrusts two fingers into their shoulder-blades or back, before attempting to knock them to the ground. Due to the large amount of pain and tightening of the diaphragm caused by such a large amount of pressure on the intercostal nerve, the target recoils for a few seconds, providing a window for another attack or an escape attempt. Of course, on targets with exceptionally high resistance to pain, or those without any sort of nervous system, any effects would be limited at best, and near nonexistent at worst.

I need help with this one

C.A.L.S, Compressed Air Launch System: ??? OM
Requires Ranged Proficiency, ???
A gauntlet type launch system, held on the right arm. It uses four 8 oz CO2 canisters, per launch.

Radar Drone: a small gliding type drone, the user shoots this over a battle field and on the ascent the drone takes thermal images, then at the peak of the ascent it goes into a dive and a spiral, using radar it crates a map and sends a 3D rendering of the terrain to the linked Gauntlet Computer. Then on landing the drone updates the rendering with enemy positions in a X radius of the drone.

Terra Wolf Pack Assault- (Requires: Range Proficiency, Remote Control Proficiency- Jay slams his hand onto the ground causing two wolves made from the very earth four feet from his opponents feet. These wolves are about 3 feet tall and a foot and half long. They shoot out of the ground rushing his opponent growling and snarling. The wolves try to bite and claw at any part of the opponent they can. They are controlled by both of Jays hands leaving him vulnerable and unable to use his hands to defend himself with his hands. The wolves are easily destroyed by earth crumbling strength.

If you are controlling both of these wolves, then the downsides are going to be much greater than not being able to use his hands. Even with the remote control proficiency, your character will need to stay motionless to control them fully.

Do they stay active indefinitely? what is the effective range that they can travel from Jay before the move dissipates? How long does it take for the wolves to be created?

When you say that they are easily destroyed by earth crumbling strength... does that mean that they can't be destroyed by someone who doesn't have a high enough strength stat? If so, then you're going to have to change that part.

with moves like this, it is a good Idea to state how many hits they can take before being destroyed, rather than how strong the hits have to be to destroy them.

Sonic Knife: 600 OM
Requires Physical strength and Burst Movement

A 6 inch knife with a 'space age-y' looking hilt. The blade is doubled edge and has a glass rod inset in the middle. When a button on the hilt is pressed, the glass tube in the middle of the blade glows a bright blue, and, thanks to 'sonic' technology, makes the user dash forward towards their target. The knife may also be used regularly.

So what do ya'll think? I might add different functions later as well.

As things stand, you could just use the Burst Movement power to do that already and don't need a move for it. I'd advise you to not spend extra OM on it. Maybe have the 'sonic' effect cause the knife to vibrate rapidly, increasing its cutting power? Just a thought.

I'm not entirely sure what you're going for with this. At its most basic, you could work this out as an explanation of the Enhanced Senses power, and not need the Radar Drone as a move. But aside from that, I think just Ranged Proficiency would be fine for the way you have it written now.

With the knife I'll sort that out later, but the drone is like a radar system away from Connor, it's supposed to used at a distance, and originally there was a 'Structure' mode where Connor could shoot it at a building, and the drone would make a scan of it.
