Re: Move Creation Workshop - The Rogue - 10-29-2015

I think Pickpocket also requires Mimic? Just my opinion
pls don't hate me
Re: Move Creation Workshop - Demetri Malius - 10-29-2015

Nah, if i dont have the proficiencies the item i take is close to useless, a shield will break through, a sword will shatter, stuff like that. If i had mimic then i could just copy moves, but then i wouldnt be stealing now would i? Confusedmug:

Functionally, it kinda does work like Mimic (but you "remove" their move as well). However, this might be a gimmick case like telepathy having "homing" traits, despite homing prof isn't necessary for it.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Minato Namikaze - 10-29-2015

PANDATRON Wrote:Gotcha, so I'll change it to this:

OVERLOAD - 300 OM
PANDATRON can overload his system, granting himself a "pool" of charge time he can use, allowing him to waive charge times from his other techniques. The use of this technique is instant, and he loses fatigue equal to a short sprint and sustains internal blunt damage as if he had received a strong punch in the gut. In exchange, he obtains 10 seconds of free "charge time" that he may use freely during the next minute. If he uses this move within 5 seconds of having used it already, he suffers double the consequences (and x3, x4, etc for further uses within 5 seconds of each other)

I'm not sure if someone addressed this already, but you can't mitigate charge times of a move by using another move. That's just how it is.

Then, creating a small "bubble" where time is accelerated wouldn't be allowed then, no (via time manipulation)? Because you'd be able to charge "faster" within that bubble.

Mimic doesn't inhibit the person that the move is copied from, it simply allows you to copy the move verbatim, although its effectiveness depends on your stats. Demetri's move requires proficiencies. In addition, Demetri can only take physical items. There is a lot of difference between Mimic and this move, although they do seem similar.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Illidan Stormrage - 10-30-2015

Orion Wrote:Ki Shield (Area Shield) (600) - Orion can manipulate his ki into a defensive plane, allowing it to absorb attacks directed at him. In the first instance, Orion can generate a curved shield that extends from his hands and covers his entire front, taking about two seconds to create. The oval shaped shield can absorb most non-Super attacks, and is especially good for blocking charged attacks.

In the second instance, Orion can create a shield that encases his entire body in a blue capsule of energy, blocking attacks from all sides. However, this form of the Ki Shield is for withstanding weaker attacks, and will break easier than the first type.

I put this here in case something looked off. Is there anything to pick at here?

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Minato Namikaze - 10-30-2015

Apart from the fact that moves can't be more or less effective against certain types of things (that includes charged/ non charged moves), this doesn't look like it needs much more work.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Illidan Stormrage - 10-30-2015

Ah, so I can have two forms of the shield, but one form won't be stronger/weaker than the other? Gotcha. Thanks.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Minato Namikaze - 10-30-2015

yes, pretty much. You can leave it in as RP fodder if you'd like, but you'd need to make sure people know it's just an RP fodder thing.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Trixie - 10-30-2015

What would I need to create a melee oriented defensive move that uses the force to create a small shield around either of Trixie's hands that she can use to block whatever.

https://youtu.be/AammAa0fJXM?t=13m46s

From that moment forward in the video is what I'm talking about. Spoiler Alert: If you haven't played Star Wars The Old Republic and intend to play the new expansion I wouldn't click the link, but for the sake of trying to come up with something like that. Am I correct in thinking I need Area Shield Prof? The whole blocking with your hand. See how the shield is only the size of his outstretched palm?

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Minato Namikaze - 10-30-2015

Hrmm... Well

Maybe just the Physical strength Proficiency.

and it'd be written up as something like;

Shield[change this to whatever you want] - Using her Knowledge of the force and her expert skill at manipulating it, Trixie is able to manifest it in the form of a small shield that is formed around her hands. Trixie can use this move through either hand as to allow for the use of her[weapon] at the same time. The shield can only take one hit, but Trixie is able to use the move in relatively quick succession, allowing her to block multiple, moves in a row for a medium amount of energy.

Of course, this would need some work and what I have written is a base form for the move, I assume you'll change it to how you want it. a nice little iteration on how the move effects melee vs projectiles would be good. For example, swords and other melee weapons would just bounce off, but projectiles would disintegrate with the shield itself.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Trixie - 10-30-2015

That's excellent. I'll work on it. Thanks, Minato.

New Ideas:

Quote:Spiritual Transportation (Requires Enhanced Senses: Basic, Teleportation: Master, Spiritual Enlightenment) - 300 OM
With advanced knowledge of the Astral Realm and experience in crossing the border between this Realm the and Astral, The Dreamer can enter the Astral Realm in one location via its Spiritual Enlightenment, and exit it to another place in the Physical Realm within the Verse in which they entered.

The Dreamer travels the same distance to their desired destination, and in the same amount of time as it would have taken them if they were to travel in the Physical Realm, but in the Astral Realm instead. This desired destination must be on that The Dreamer as physically visited before, and the they arrive, the appear in a semi-random location within 30 meters of the target area. To arrive in the exact spot desired, The Dreamer must have entered the Astral Realm within 30 meters of that location before.

Quote:The Only Portal That Matters (Requires Teleportation: Master, Spiritual Enlightenment) - 300 OM
With advanced knowledge of the Astral Realm and experience in crossing the border between this Realm the and Astral, The Dreamer can open a portal between this world and the Astral Realm, allowing beings to physically pass between them, even if they cannot themselves. This portal can only last long enough for one being to pass, and said being can pass from either side. Friend or Foe. Doing so requires 10 minutes of good concentration and can be done from the Physical Realm or the Astral Realm, allowing entrance or exit from both sides by parties not experienced in this sort of travel.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - The Rogue - 10-30-2015

Can I do a Power up like this?

Adrenaline Shot
Requires Survival

When a battle goes hard and Connor can't keep, he pulls out an Adrenaline shot and injects himself. The boost in adrenaline makes him faster and stronger, as well as enabling him to take quite a few hits before falling

ATK: +2
DEF: +2
SPD: +1
TEC: +0

Yeah, that should be totally fine

I would guess that this is probably a no-go, sadly on both counts.

Being able to evade capture by traversing into the astral realm would really break fights, and being able to essentially teleport into any location from any distance in the verse (even if it takes the time to walk there) is kinda OP. It reminds me most of a Base Teleporter, so I guess the mechanic is pre-existing, but the thing about that is that a base is in a SINGLE place, and doesn't allow you to do it at any old time.

However, if you get a base with a teleporter, you can TOTALLY describe the teleportation as doing it this way. Same with the recall station. Maybe there's a special room Shade has, or maybe the base is on a point where there's a spiritual atunement that allows him to pierce the veil.

As far as taking others with him, probably not gonna work. Instead, you might consider a move that allows others to see through his eyes, but that would likely require telepathy and buff prof.

If you'd like to discuss work-arounds, I'll be happy to help!

With the case of the Transportation Move and evading capture, well under those same conditions, could I just hide for like 24hrs in the Astral Realm and achieve evasion anyway? And My justification for it was that the Astral Verse is potentially a million times more dangerous to traverse then some Physical Realm places.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Thaal Sinestro - 10-30-2015

There are still other reasons to not do it, and overall I don't think it's a route you should really pursue. The potential for exploiting a move like that is just too high, even after multiple revisions. Again, I think a better way to approach having this thematic ability is to purchase a Base and Teleporter, and use this as the description of how Shade accomplishes teleportation.

Re: Move Creation Workshop - Illidan Stormrage - 10-30-2015

A new idea I'm toying with:

Mirage (Teleportation, Suppression) - Orion charges and after five seconds, two duplicates of him split off to either side of him. These are merely illusions but follow his movements exactly. They cannot be moved independently and always stick to Orion's side about three feet to the left and right of him. Orion then uses his ability to teleport to switch places with one of the mirages, but all three versions of himself flicker so it cannot be deduced visually. Then Orion will generally attack, allowing himself a chance to confound the enemy and exploit an opening.

The real Orion can only be deduced with Enhanced Senses, and only if the adversary's TEC is higher than Orion's.

EDIT: The mirages, if hit, dissipate, and cannot do damage themselves. However, if a mirage is hit, the enemy has likely left themselves open, which allows the real Orion to attack. Once Orion lands the first attack, the mirages fade.
