XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-01-2013 This game is fantastic. I've caved and decided to start a new campaign, in advance of the new expansion. I was craving it the entire 5 months I was in Japan, but an XCOM campaign is something you really need to commit yourself to. It eats at the mind, the soul, and it will consume the unprepared. All my recruits will be named after the characters here, in order of joining. I apologise to the earlier folks, who are as good as dead. I'm not very good at strategy games. Hardcore classic, naturally. Let's see how long it takes to work through the entire roster. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Proto Man - 09-01-2013 I refuse to play another campaign of XCOM, because the memory of Greg's sacrifice is still too fresh in my heart/soul Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Thaal Sinestro - 09-01-2013 I have an ongoing save game where I refuse to let any members of the original squad get killed, on the difficult difficulty. It is difficult. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-01-2013 I remember how my "I'll name everyone after the characters from One Piece! Haha!" game went. "Alright my first guys are probably gonna die so I'll just name them characters I don't really care about, not part of the main crew. Gold Roger and Whitebeard, sure. Okay they died, they got far so it's okay. Now for the main crew. Luffy--oh, he's dead, shit. It's tragic, the rest of the crew will continue on with his memory. Oh, I lost 3, fuck. Well, the new crew will - oh okay, they're dead. You know what, I'm just going to keep the default names." Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-01-2013 Btw, I meant Classic Ironman, not Classic Hardcore (that makes no sense). If normal is for people who like to be spanked, and classic is for people who like to get tied up and tortured, hardcore is for people who post craigslist ads looking for someone to eat them. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Nanoha Takamachi - 09-01-2013 I finished a classic Ironman losing only 3 squad members, and one of them was just a replacement I took on a mission when one of my vets was injured. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-01-2013 That's because I hate you and go to hell cheating grumbrugmble Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Nanoha Takamachi - 09-01-2013 We should still do an Ironman Impossible let's play Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Ganondorf - 09-02-2013 I have faith that Ganondorf will live forever! Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Trixie - 09-08-2013 This game still devours my soul to this day. Vad died the very same day he became a Colonel. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-08-2013 These stories bring tears to my eyes. Currently I have an all female team due to the whims of this game's RNG. Samus, ze heavy. Garona, the assault. Nyx, the sniper. Nanoha, the support. No deaths or major mishaps yet ... Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Nanoha Takamachi - 09-08-2013 After my last total squad loss, I have begun a new game yet again. The first mission is in Australia. In Perth. My hometown. This could be a good sign, or a really bad one. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Nanoha Takamachi - 09-08-2013 Ganon, Nanoha, Samus all down in one mission from one terrible firefight. I moved ganon up 2 squares to hardcover, and activated two groups of 3 jumpers. They then killed 3 people via flanking thanks to their ridiculous move range. Link and Garona somehow managed to clean up the mission, both injured however. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-08-2013 It's horrendous when you activate groups like that and get horribly flanked. I've had some bad times that way. The two worst missions I ever had though were caused by chrysalids, and by muton berserkers. Also mind control. Can anyone say Lost Countries? Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Ganondorf - 09-08-2013 Is it just me, or does this game seem like it was designed for masochists...? Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-08-2013 You think this is a motherfucking game, Ganon? Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Ganondorf - 09-08-2013 XCOM is serious business. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Magus - 09-09-2013 Ganondorf Wrote:XCOM is serious business. You don't even know. Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Nanoha Takamachi - 09-09-2013 I was just about to have an amazing perfect VIP mission on one of the hardest maps... and then one of my guys got poisoned by a thin man we killed on overwatch, took one damage and panicked. He then shot the VIP and killed him. GG Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Omni - 09-09-2013 Fucking lol. |
